2321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer B3 Miner on: May 03, 2018, 04:17:45 PM
To those with the B3 already in hand, what are the noise levels like? I assume they’re right around S9/T9 models’ noise levels but I’ve yet to see anyone post about this. I started wondering about this since the specs for the B3 were officially posted as I theorized there wasn’t a need for such a powerful fan with the low power consumption of the B3.
2322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain issuing 4000RMB (628USD) refund to first batch B3 buyers in China. on: May 02, 2018, 11:00:19 PM
I'm still waiting on an official announcement from Bitmain for non-Chinese buyers, but it'd be pretty shitty of Bitmain to refund non-Chinese buyers with coupons instead of a bank account refund or coin refund. I'm sure they'll get back to us in a day or two.

I'm also wondering how many miners are going to be in the second batch of B3, I assume it'll be more than the 2500 for the first as that number was most likely made to reel in buyers, and that first batch advantage is going to disappear real quick for initial buyers as these second batch units are supposed to ship starting in just over a week from now.
2323  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: VERY VERY SLOW WITHDRAWAL PROCESSING TIME WITH DICECOIN.IO on: May 02, 2018, 08:54:21 PM
I went on Google and tried to find anything in regards to Dicecoin in the last year, and I found this review stating that it can take up to 48 hours for some withdrawals to be processed based on balance. I don't know how accurate this review was, but I doubt the site is truly dead (why pay for site hosting if you're not operating anymore?), and Dicecoin doesn't seem to be a scam site (they don't seem to have any negative trust on their Bitcointalk account). Most likely the site's just operating slower now that there's less traffic or something of the sort. I'd give it another 24 hours and then trying to contact Dicecoin's support email or Cryptogames' support.
2324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is bitstarz.com legit? on: May 02, 2018, 01:18:43 AM
There was some pretty big drama about them denying a gambler a few BTC because he supposedly had multiple accounts and Botstarz used that as an excuse to take his BTC (I know Bitstarz isn't the only casino to have rules like this, though, FortuneJack also does as an example). That's as short as it gets for summarizing the negative trust that their Bitcointalk account currently has.

They seem to have changed things up a bit since then, but the only trust they've received since then was right around the end of the incident. I wouldn't take the risk personally, but it looks like they're trying to advertise again and start back up stronger to regain their trust and customer base.
2325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Who know the voltage and hashrate of this 580? on: May 02, 2018, 12:47:12 AM
There are so many things wrong with this post.

To my knowledge, no standard consumer PSU runs at 1000V, and I assume you're talking about wattage for both the GPU and PSU. You also didn't specify what hashrates you're asking for. If you're mining ETH, the card should do about 25MH/S stock for ETH, and you should be able to fit six on a 1000W PSU assuming you tweak things a bit for Ethereum (I suggest BIOS modding for ETH if you go that route).
2326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New gambling ideas on: May 02, 2018, 12:10:41 AM
Gamblers won't pay to unlock certain games or features within games, 99% of the time they'll just go somewhere else. I don't understand how selling add-ons to a game would be related to gambling, and either way developing games can take significant capital, and you're working with a web browser for a casino, not a customized client. It's best to keep things nice, simple and compatible with all devices for gambling.
2327  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: April 30, 2018, 11:20:54 PM
If you guys are still going on about withdrawals, I tried making one one late Friday and the tx finally came out today. The amount withdrawn was around $200 in BTC which I don't consider a whole lot, but I guess they only let extremely small transactions through during the weekends.

I'm personally glad FortuneJack does so much to protect users, though no weekend withdrawals is a bit annoying.
2328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hash Rate List From Main Video Cards And Algorithm on: April 30, 2018, 01:18:42 PM
Seems about right with the RX 460, I have a stock 4GB card and it hashes right around 10MH/S with Nicehash, around 100 for Equihash. The list seems to be correct just looking at the hashrates of a few GPUs, surprising since some lists are way off. I'm glad someone took the time to compile a list of card hashrates that is actually accurate and not cobbled together randomly.
2329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2.1T 900W, Innosilicon Blake256 D9 DecredMaster/ 3.83T 1380W, S11 SiaMaster on: April 30, 2018, 10:30:22 AM
If you're talking pros and cons of this miner, difficulty is going to be one factor that's going to influence profitability dramatically. There's competition with Halong as they also announced their own Blake256 ASIC,.. <snip>
Yeah, "Competition". As it is the one and same miner with two different style labelling.  Cheesy
I can't believe I didn't notice they had the exact same specifications; I guess I didn't read enough of the Halong and Innosilicon threads around here recently. Now that you say that, I can really see the Innosilicon connection with Halong more clearly that people were talking about a while back now...
2330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2.1T 900W, Innosilicon Blake256 D9 DecredMaster/ 3.83T 1380W, S11 SiaMaster on: April 30, 2018, 10:16:30 AM
Whats with this Blake256 algo? Why its delivering the best numbers and its lone got 1 coin on it, decred. Why is decred a lot more productive to mine than some other coin in the market? Is this a dangerous purchase like the X3?

Its lucrative now. Also, in what capacity will everybody hopping on this influence the benefit/trouble? I truly need to purchase a couple yet uncertain how hazardous it is. Need to get more taught. Any assistance is exceptionally valued!
Not as dangerous considering Decred shows no signs of potentially forking to get rid of Blake256 ASICs, but there's still risk in the fact that these mine essentially just one coin as of now (Decred).

If you're talking pros and cons of this miner, difficulty is going to be one factor that's going to influence profitability dramatically. There's competition with Halong as they also announced their own Blake256 ASIC, and once both units are received by consumers profitability will drop dramatically. This miner will also be very loud as I hope you already know (comparable to a vacuum cleaner like most industrial grade miners); it's a bit of a gamble, but if you're looking for something risky and possibly profitable this wouldn't be a bad choice.
2331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: When will the dam break that holds used GPU prices above new MSRP? on: April 29, 2018, 10:28:52 PM
It is all due to retailers controlling supply. I have seen medium size shops staking millions of $ worth of gpus and selling them at extreme prices. There are too many "hobbyist" miners coming up every minute and as long as it is profitable people will continue paying high price.
What we need is more competition in ASIC and GPU market so that capitalism can balanced. One of the good news is Intel re-entering dedicated GPU market.
The bad news with Intel Arctic Sound is that they haven't produced a dedicated GPU in a very, very long time, their current integrated graphics aren't great, and it seems they're going to come out sometime in 2020. It's great that there's competition on the horizon, but we have no indicator of how powerful these will be compared to their AMD or Nvidia counterparts in the future, and it'll still be just AMD and Nvidia likely for the next two years.
2332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: When will the dam break that holds used GPU prices above new MSRP? on: April 29, 2018, 07:49:41 PM
The issue mainly stems from retailers trying to squeeze every last penny out of what's left of the GPU market in terms of demand. One comparison I've seen is that the GPU market's just like the price of gasoline- it goes up quickly and drops slowly. Either way, it's pretty damn ridiculous we're paying more than MSRP for architectures that are coming on two years old.
2333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: April 29, 2018, 07:17:53 PM
Where is the best place to buy this?

You can buy it for less than 10 bucks on amazon.

Search for 6000 pwm or similar.

Anyone tried another fan? I wanted to replace with high quality, but ended up reading threads from Antminer there is no chance for noise reduction.
These fans get above 200 cfm and all in this class are at 60 dB.

Anyone tried? Saw industrial 3000pwm from noctua but just half of the power with the cfm compared.

My are running at 70% and are loud as hell. I want to keep them below 30 degrees Celsius.
PWM is the technique that allows fans to have a variable fan speed. The correct word you're looking for is RPM, which measures fan revolutions per minute.

It really depends what algo you're going to use the X10 with. Quark and Qubit, which are the two most profitable algos to mine with the X10 right now, use just around or below 400W. You should be fine with the 3000RPM Noctuas with consumption that low; the reason why it doesn't work with Antminers is because they require high static pressure and CFM to operate as there's a lot of heat that needs to be dissipated through the heatsinks in the miner, and everything is packed very tightly together. A replacement should make the machine much quieter and run just as well (but always monitor temperatures after replacing a fan until temps stabilize to a safe temperature to ensure the setup is stable).
2334  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is multimining.website is a legit mining website? Are they paying? on: April 29, 2018, 06:28:17 PM
This domain name takes you to quickmining.io now, can someone check if this is ok or not ?
If you'd read just two posts above yours you'd find that multimining is a Ponzi, and the new redirect is still a Ponzi. The page claims you can "mine" 0.00288BTC/day by investing 0.01BTC, which is absolutely ludicrous, and they even have ads on the bottom of their page. No legitimate mining site would have earnings that high nor ads on their site, so no, this isn't "ok" unless you're fine with losing your money.
2335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Fanatic needs Rig on: April 29, 2018, 06:11:15 PM
I would highly suggest using the Computer Hardware section of the forum for buying prebuilt rigs, but be prepared to pay using Crypto- I typically find that most people selling there only accept BTC, and some accept PayPal or even both, but it's absolutely worth it to shop around there- I seldom find cheaper prices for some parts and miners anywhere else. A list of reputable escrowers can be found here.

I find people sell rigs at an enormous premium (and everything BTC and altcoin related in general) on eBay and Amazon. Unless you're buying individual parts and hunting for cheap parts, I would not look on eBay for rigs. It's a shame you don't want to build your own rig, but I respect everyone's ideas. I assume you're aware you can save hundreds of dollars assembling your own and setting things up yourself.
2336  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Please comment on this thread about posting in the Bitcoin Talk forum on: April 29, 2018, 12:34:49 AM
I like what you've got going on with formatting, but I feel people forget how to insert clickable URLs on the forum way too much, even some members that are pretty old here. A long bitcointalk link adds unnecessary clutter when a simple use of URLs (the globe with the page next to it) fixes everything and keeps things short and concise.

Code is also important to use for things like miner specifications or other information that's long (especially information that is copy-pasted that isn't outright spam). It's a bit difficult for me to say exactly when to use it right now, but it definitely tidies up posts a lot and it improves thread loading speed for us all, and removes the need for us to scroll down a lot just to see one post.

Some images may also not go through the Bitcointalk proxy, especially those hosted on Imgur. I find imgBB is an excellent workaround to this. IIRC new members can't upload images unless they purchase a Copper membership, but it's definitely something you need to know to be successful at posting here. Images can be inserted by clicking next to the URL globe-and-paper symbol.

I think it's great someone finally took the time to show newbies how to use the forums correctly. My only hope is new members actually go to your page and learn the ways of posting; most people will probably not take the time to do so.
2337  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoincrack.org review (all bitcoin private keys) on: April 28, 2018, 11:59:00 AM
Waste of time if you want to use it for legit purposes. But I can hardly think of a scam employing this scheme, where is the potential profit? Traffic? It won't be much/ Something else? I'm puzzled.
The profit part is where they claim to "sell" the private key of an address containing 223 BTC for 0.01BTC (or any other address containing BTC if one is found). Doesn't seem to be much else on the page besides that. I hope people don't fall for scams like this, but some people must've gotten scammed already by this.

If anyone's worrying about their coins being stolen by some sort of project like this, it's mathematically almost impossible as of right now. As I said earlier, the only addresses that have been actually cracked are purposely made to be cracked or wallets that have been generated with bad RNG/ some other error in generation. In 99.9% of cases you should be fine. It's not a bad idea to spread out your coins over multiple wallets, still. Never good to keep all your eggs in one basket.
2338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer B3 Miner on: April 27, 2018, 09:21:30 PM
Grabbed one a few hours before they sold out.  My only worry is that it's for one coin and one coin only.  So long as that coin doesn't flop, I imagine ROI won't be tough with such a low power consumption.
The one algo thing also came up with the Antminer A3 and Blake2b, with Sia being the only coin that was mineable with the Blake2b algo. You'll get the first batch advantage (for us regular consumers) with the B3 at the very least. Difficulty will probably rise just like with Sia, but if there isn't much competition from other manufacturers you'll most likely be okay.
2339  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to buy laptops/PC's with BTC? on: April 27, 2018, 08:20:49 PM
I used to use Newegg for almost all my electronics purchases since they accepted BTC, but in December or early January they announced they announced they would add sales tax into sales for my state. Still not bad considering I got a free Shoprunner membership a while back(which grants me free 2-day shipping on some items), but it's just a small inconvenience.

Buying an Amazon gift card with BTC through either a site like eGifter or the Currency Exchange and the Digital Goods section (use escrow in either sections unless you're dealing with a reputable user or you want to lose your money). You can also try a service like Purse.io or Bitwants also works. I used Bitwants to buy items off AliExpress before they changed their site name and added more options for purchases and they worked fine.
2340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and investment - different discussion on: April 27, 2018, 03:13:10 PM
Play in gambling and investment? it's different. if you want to invest it will be better to invest in cryptocurrency and hold them for the long time
there are many of altcoins is have a huge potential to get a profit than play in gambling, it is very risky.
Its true gambling is so risky compared to gambling investing, gambling need a luck before you can win but on investing on cryptocurrency you can gain profit so easily. So their are big different on gambling and investing.
I might be having a little bit different opinion than both of you in this regard because gambling and investment for me both are the travelers of the same boat and no one can confidently say that investment is more secure than gambling or vice versa as both of them are having equal amounts of risk in them. But investment only has got a good reputation than gambling that’s why people go for it.

Well i'd have to disagree. Gamblers are travelling on a more turbulent waters compared to investors which sit a little safer and closer to shore. Everyone will tell you that these two can only be linked because they have uncertain outcomes but the risk in gambling are different from the risk when you're investing smartly
House edge ensures you will always lose in the long run with gambling (it is possible to seem to be winning in the short term, however), whilst there is really no equivalent in investing. When you're doing either, however, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your investments and don't gamble all your money at once. Gambling is meant to be for entertainment anyhow.
