What, 15,300? Yawn.... Wake me when it hits 10k.

cheap coins again Indeed. I get to raise my prices for mining repairs. About time....

Eh, everything seems to be imploding. People buying Lambos for Christmas....

You got to admit though, they made some pretty good hardware with the Titan. The fact that it's still profitable is quite frankly amazing....

Any theories as to why they've been out front for so long? They're just a bunch of people. I don't understand why no one else in the world has caught up already.
Sure. Being in China, they are exceptionally difficult/impossible to sue. Many mining companies had lots of lawsuits and sometimes I wonder if those were funded by other mining companies, leaving bitmain.... They also actually delivered product although the recent quality seems to be.... poor.

I don't know if you guys are superstitious, but the fact that 23k doesn't exist on the poll might just mean that's where it'll land. Now, if they change the poll so that you can vote for 23k, that means it won't happen. I say Don't Touch That Dial!
Schroedinger's poll? Now you have me thinking "Schroedinger's Troll". But yes, these fees are getting stupid. Maybe it's time to boost the blocksize......

We need to break the mining monopoly. Miners would not be able to afford stunts like this if mining was not monopolized.
Of course you can imagine how the miners would fuck you over with Bcash if it ever got popular.
This has nothing to do with a mining monopoly. Limited space, lots of people, slots go to the highest bidder. What would be better, random choices of what goes into the block, or bigger blocks which is called um... btrash.

Whats going on, Jihan making another run to add to his list of failed runs?
maybe bitmain got a new stock of hardware and customers have to pay with BCH? or better maybe jihan is pumping BCH because he knows he will get new hardware soon and customers have to pay with BCH? That could be it: I picked up some S7 parts today from a guy who was telling me a new batch of S9's was on sale for 2400 or somesuch. Maybe everyone had to buy crapcoin to get them.

Check the voltage when the unit is up and running from ground to one of the ends of the choke coil. If you see about 10.6v then the power supplies are good. If not then the chip may be out.
Need to see if there is an exact replacement for this oscillator; the ones I am swapping in might not put out enough power to run the chips. Hm....

|
|
I meant it's a few days to a week for my repairs. China could be anything......
Meantime I'm having fun. I think Antminer used some crappy oscillators.....

I have a faulty S7 card, and I've often suspected a faulty crystal.
At it would sometimes hash at higher frequencies, but not lower.. and would run a day then errors would start increasing and it would stop.
Please can you post a picture of the crystal, I've tried to cross-reference the numbers online, and none seem to match a crystal.
Hm. Sort of works. On this board I'm testing I now can hash at 125mhz, but it says only 21 chips are there. Which might mean the crystal/oscillator I'm using doesn't have enough power to run the string. It's the little silver thing with 25.00 on it between two chips right above the inductor. Can't miss it. Getting it off without knocking off a heat sink is an exercise, but I have something that does work here (albeit slowly). So I might need one that takes a different input voltage or can drive more stuff. There are several crystal pads on the board, but only one is used. Hm......

Ok serious question u guys
in what way is Btc better than BCash ?
from what i read online
BCash does everything btc does only better
With BCash you're trusting Antminer corp with your money, where they can fork and screw as they wish. Oh I don't know, I was never a fan of company scrip, but YMMV. C

Ok, so at what point does all the hash power go to bitcoin trash and so forth?

Worst case you can send it over here and I'll test it on my default rig. Maybe it needs a different code version, but this is not the first time I have heard people say it doesn't work with all three boards at say slushpool. That makes very little sense (unless it is secretly mining bitcoin trash/cash and Antminer is paying out in bitcoins. HMMMMMM)
I am pointing it at antpool. It doesnt secretly mine anything lol. Not possible considering the watts use is only around 1000 plus. Thats 2 boards wotking only I rather not send the whoke thing back considering mining rates are good now. How long does sending it back and return take anyways? I don't know for bitmainrepair, but for myself it's usually a few days to a week for turnaround. C

Yep. On the bench that's about right; if you take a voltage reading with the boards in and plugged into the controller it should be about 10.5 as 8.mumble is the default on the power controller chip when it's at idle. So that's working.
I'm leaning towards the wrong firmware: You have the later firmware on the board which works with the same boards I have in my unit (1.31) with the slightly different earlier firmware. When I get a chance I'll reflash mine with the later firmware and see if it runs my later 1.81 boards, I'll guess you need the other firmware to run 1.11 boards and 1.31 boards work because I'm using it.
Do the logical dance....

Mother fucking transaction fees are getting out-of-hand.
Trying to move shit to Gemini for tonight's action, and shit be stalling out, yo.
Current fees estimated at ~343sat/byte for 60 min confirmation.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit.
Indeed. If only there was a solution for this.... And even with these fees it doesn't make up for the 25/12.5 halving....

Still stuck at 19k or so. Blah....

Well it's one of my control boards for testing, so I'll see if I can get another board working first as a stable control. Issue might be with firmware, as there are two unique firmware versions from Antland for the S7/700/45 boards. I'll try that this week in my spare time.
Meantime check the voltage from the inductor to ground on the PCIe plug for the errant boards. A working board will read about 10.5volts to ground from either pin on the inductor, if yours reads zero it's not a bad fix. If you pull the board out and bench test it without a controller it should read around 7 volts.

i still have a bunch of these and arctic accelero ii coolers if someone want.
I wonder if they would be profitable at current mining rates.... Monarchs are, which is beyond insane as are Neptunes. Maybe an underclocked chili could do it. Maybe I should dig mine out and stick a water block on it to see what happens......
