So, what was announced for January 2018 is happening now? Crazy coincidences ... .

The only thing scheduled for Jan was the release of the coins. That hasn't happened as far as I can tell.

They said nothing about going full retail until they just did.

Ha, yes ok, a teaser before the release. Well Gentlemen, I think we are not just going for a rough ride now, but for a terribly rough ride... .

Every time Coinbase has a chance to retain or regain my respect, they lose even more.

Pretty soon they'll just be a Cryptsy 2.0 shitcoin peddler. Brian Armstrong obviously could give two shits about the Bitcoin movement as a whole.
Makes me glad I don't use them.

Bitcoin Cash is now on CoinBase. This can turn bad for bitcoin for some time, but one thing we all should always remember.

ORIGINAL REMAINS ORIGINAL!

It can't beat bitcoin.

My coins were released already.

Ah. It all happens at once then.

Strange, I can buy but I cannot sell BCash from the Coinbase interface yet. There is no trade history on GDAX yet but the books are starting to fill.

I only kept a small transactional amount on Coinbase. All my cold wallet BCash is long gone.

why not buy with online exchanges? Huh

I prefer the security and anonymity of OTC and ATMs.

I learned my lesson with MtGox. Lost 50 coins. Never again.

When I acquire coins, they go straight into offline cold storage, mostly paper wallets, although I do keep a small amount (less than 5 coins) in a Trezor for convenience.

I don't ever want to expose my coins to the internet. I also resent nosiness. Anonymity is the cornerstone of freedom.

Yes, ATM fees are usually higher than exchange fees but when you consider the cost of transferring fiat currency and the total lack of anonymity of online exchanges, it's a small price to pay.

Whenever I have the chance to acquire coins for cash, anonymously, it's a bonus. I've met other Bitcoiners at meetups who I only know on a first name basis. I've also bought coins from storefront gold and coin dealers without divulging my name. They get their cash, I get my coins, no names required.

Looks like we get Masterluc's ten grand sooner than we expected.

I wonder if this was a regulated market whether all of Coinbase would wind up in jail.

Did your ATM let you withdraw 2 $2.5k transactions anonymously (without ID) a few weeks ago? I assumed you must have provided ID scans to get that kind of limit allowed.

You can get that much out of an ATM in Canada?   Huh   Shocked

No problem. Some machines allow up to $10k per day to stay within AML limits.

My local ATM allows up to $5k per day but I had to split it into 2 $2.5k transactions.

Paid me all in brownies ($100 bills) after only 2 confirmations. Fast, clean and simple.

Though I do believe that if BTC crashes, it's going to take down all the crypto with them.  So I guess we should thank GDAX for pumping BCH and crashing all the crypto, all in time for Christmas?  (Not to mention a replay of hashrate war, tx spam, mempool spike and what not....)

Coinbase just release BCH selling on their website while I am online and seeing it available live and the bitcoin price crashes to $16000 all the sudden.

What the hell is with this war anyways?
