Why is everyone obsessed with the Lakers getting more guys over the age of 30 lol.  Their main issue was keeping guys on the floor.  They need young talent, old teams never work ever.  Bron needs some fresh legs playing beside him.  They get Conley then what he only suits up for 40 games this season as he deals with nagging injuries.  They need some youth on that team.

The whole reset screwd me up.  I was in the lobby got booted and it started before my screen refreshed.  My first 2 picks were auto picks  Undecided.  Next we need to make sure all of this is straightened out first with no last minute  mods and different start times.  Not anyone's fault but my own I didn't refresh just kept it on the lobby screen with the little spinny circle.  Good luck this season gents!  Grin

W0w, sorry to hear that man. It was set and ready for a full 15 minutes and didn't start until 7:10.

I also posted that I was working on it in the thread 20 minutes before launch and posted in the thread the second it was up and ready which was at 6:55.

I did my best, wish I had seen that is was somehow reset back to random after I initially set it up.

I guess we could take a vote and redo it if the majority wants?

No no no redo I wasn't going for that it was my fault.  Got caught making dinner and just thought that the page wouod reload when the draft was reset.  I should have been more attentive.  I appreciate you all running it.  All fun right with some possible bits at the end if everything falls right.  Will just have to watch that waiver wire a little stronger this year  Wink

Good luck everyone!

As a beginner into the trading business, I'm always scared of putting my money into altcoins but I do hear some people talk about how they make profits altcoins.

So I decided to come here to seek the views of experienced traders on the potentials of altcoins.

People make money in bull runs but in times like these most people lose out.  In the long run most of them are useless, and are ploys to get more bitcoin or fiat.  Stick with bitcoin for the most part and you should be fine.

Honestly all these fights are getting old and tired.  It's a bunch of amateurs fighting and it shows in the fights.  The only reason people watch is because they are popular elsewhere.  Otherwise it's uninspiring watching these people actually box.  Was a cool fad for a minute but it's tired now.

What do you think the trade would result?

https://www.si.com/nba/2022/09/01/donovan-mitchell-traded-to-cavaliers-per-report

is the Cavaliers now more ready in the playoffs? Last season they have an impressive run but fall short, and now that they have Mitchell, maybe we will see some big improvement especially in the playoffs.

About the Jazz, no more Gobert and Mitchell, who will lead the team? Clarkson?

They are certainly better now by having Mitchell on the team. Do you think this improvement will be sufficient to make a difference? In the end, only time will tell what will happen. As far as I am concerned, this should be a significant improvement. I also think that the team is going to be able to play more confidently from now on as well.

I am really indecisive when it comes to Utah. In the future, I do not know what is going to happen to them. Mitchell used to be a star player for the team, but he is no longer part of the team. It would be interesting to know how that position is going to be filled in the future.

Regards

Duke

For the cavs it made sense, they are a lot closer to a competing team than the Knicks aare.  They have the right pieces in place and Mitchell might put them over the edge to get them to a top 3 team in the East which is the goal.  They mortgaged their future but they can't afford to wait their team is ready now.  That's the difference with the Knicks team.
2370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 02, 2022, 01:35:39 PM
Mitchell is nice but he isn't an all pro.  Dude barely plays d.  Ainge got 3 picks, 2 swaps and a couple nice young players.  Trust me everyone of these teams wants to draft Victor W.  At 18 years old they do t make many players like him.

Mitchell has been a beast in the playoffs every chance he's had.  He's one of the better playoff scorers in NBA history (avg) if I recall correctly.  The only real knock against him is that he's short for his position which can lead to him being taken advantage on the defensive end like you noted.  I guess we'll see what those picks end up turning into.

I'm not knocking him Mitchell is a nice piece.  Knicks just signed brunson, if they ran out there with brunson and Mitchell that would be a small backcourt.  And it was really about the pieces ainge wanted.  Timberwolves screwd up the trade market buy way overpaying for gobert.  I get why they did it, as a small market team it's tough for them to sign people in the open market.  I really like Mitchell but for what the Knicks would have to give up it didn't make sense.

Problem now is that the combination of q grimes, quickly, obi, cam, etc are gonna be under a microscope because the Knicks front office believed in them more than giving up them for Mitchell.  As soon as they have a bad stretch, and they are young so they will, the media and fans are gonna brutalized them.  Lose lose for the Knicks now.

There are many trams who opt for a complete blow up.  There is no point being a middling team forever.  Blow it up now they have 8 first round picks, plus their own and 2 pick swaps and some nice young players.

Also what people don't understand is the top 2 picks in this draft are insanely good.  Scoot Henderson or Victor who is pretty much the most coveted pick since lebron.  If they strike gold and get to draft Victor then they have a ton of picks to build around him.  I can't blame them.

There are "some" reasons to be a middling team. I mean if you think that you are going to get great players with rebuilding and be better in the long run then you should do that. But I remember the "process" period of Sixers when they were so horrible that they broke the record of lowest wins and they were under 20 wins for many years in a row. During those years the ticket prices were %10 of what it is right now. You could have found tickets for as low as 8 bucks, even lower at last minute filling etc etc, and the trick is, since it was pretty empty and nobody went to games, you would get those cheap tickets and watch from very close to court seats. Hence, if you are terrible like Utah will be this year, it will be very hard to fill seats or make any profit, and if you keep on losing money then you can't sustain.

Most of these owners own these teams as toys they are all usually billionaires already.  The trend is to blow the team up grab Youngs and picks.  Utah doesn't draw anyone to begin with they don't have a market like Philly so even as a middling team they don't get a ton of profit.  They need to be substantially good and they know with theor core it wasn't going to happen.  Nailing the draft once or twice with a mega star is needed and get a free agent or 2 to come in and play with them.

Utah are rebuilding.

The most insane rebuilding I think I've witnessed so far. They are giving up their young and currently prime 25-year-old key scorer for future draft picks. I don't see how rebuilding takes place on that decision to trade their main scorer. Rebuilding with young cores isn't really an effective way to compete in the league.

If only they surround Mitchell with good role players instead, then that's what I called rebuilding.

I hope their decision will really bring a good future for the Utah Jazz. Cavaliers, I think the winner of this trade.

Well they have given Gobert and then Mitchell, so for sure it's a huge change in the Salt Lake City as this season we will see a brand new team. And I also wouldn't be surprised if Clarkson, Bogdan and Conley and veteran Rudy Gay in the trading block prior to the start.

Seems that Utah win this one? agree or disagree?

As mentioned, they got lots of options and hopefully they got lucky those those draft picks. This is like OKC all over again, when they traded, WB and then PG and get a lot of future picks.

It will be a very long rebuilding process since they are starting from scratch. We cannot tell yet if it is a win for Utah. I guess when their picks comes in and they have good ones, not bust, then we can say they won the trades.

I wonder what prompted Jazz to rebuild this extreme. Since Gobert - Mitchell tandem is not working, I thought they would pick one and build around him and trade the other one. But they chose to rebuild from scratch. Did they really think Donovan Mitchell cannot give them a ring or at least get them to a finals? Or there is another reason unknown to us.

Just in,

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1565424787446439941

So it seems that the Cavs have acquired Mitchell now, as they trade Lauri Markkanen, Ochair Agbaji, Collin Sexton. So the drama has ended for Mitchell. Now the Jazz has a lot of future draft picks from the Rudy Gobert trade to T'Wolves and now from the Cavaliers, Utah are rebuilding. They still have Clarkson and Conley in the lineup. Maybe the two will remain as Jazz for whoever knows up to when.

The AP is also reporting that: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/ap-source-cavaliers-acquiring-all-star-g-mitchell-from-jazz/ar-AA11n19T

I am shocked by this.  Sending Mitchell to Cleveland is almost a punishment.  He'll be able to thrive individually I guess, but I don't see him ever having a chance to play for a championship there.  It looks like they got back young players and picks to rebuild with, but nothing I'd be excited about as a Jazz fan.  This seems like a lose-lose for everyone involved.  I really don't understand why Utah didn't make a deal with the Knicks instead.

Because Leon rose was unwilling to package the young guys like ainge wanted.  Ainge is a psyco I give him credit but if I was a gm and I seen his phone number pop up I'd block him.  He wanted 6 firsts 4 of them unprotected and grimes/obi.  I would have told him to go scratch as well f em.
2374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 01, 2022, 08:13:14 PM
I agree, let's say we give Westbrook a chance this season, if he improve under coach Ham then good for the Lakers. If not, then for sure in the middle of the season we might see him get traded. And there are rumors that Ham wanted Pat and Russ play at the same time. So it will be an interesting combination to see them both in the floor. Two high octane players, gonna be fun.

I think Los Angeles Lakers are always open to giving Westbrook a chance.

However, if things really not worked out and they see Westbrook is really struggling in his role or anything, it will be hard for the Lakers to trade him in the middle of the season as here in the off-season, they can't even find a good trade package from other teams. Maybe much more difficult during the off-season.

If they will decide to keep Westbrook, they should risk on him the whole season and just work on trading him the next off-season.

I'm kind of curious though what Darvin Ham's strategy for Westbrook, so I guess we will see it soon. But if in any case that plan fails, the Laker's have Patrick to take take Westbrook's role.

According to some report that Darvin Ham plans to put both Westbrook and Pat Bev in the starting line up and play together side by side.
Also, there are rumors that Pat Bev and Westbrook had conversations already. I guess they are now building a chemistry and forget their beef before.
Pat Bev seems to have a good professionalism towards his teammates and Westbrook seems a nice guy as well. I hope this will work out for the Lakers this season.
If AD avoids any major injury this season, I believe the Lakers could successfully run this roster again next season.

That's indeed good if those reports and rumors will turn out exactly true, Pat Bev and WB playing side by side is surely an interesting sight to see together with Lebron and AD. But they still need a reliable 6th man so that the team can still be dangerous if one of the main line-ups is resting.

Anthony Davis's health plays an important role for the team because if he won't be around, Lebron will again take heavy load for that.

Austin Reaves can be considered as their 6th man even if the kid is yet to prove that he can produce good numbers every game for the team but he is already proven to be more reliable than Westbrook especially at times when it is badly needed, Reaves was there trying to step up his game and he is consistent for that.

Reaves is a good kid to come off the bench, but I wouldn't consider him over west rook on any day.  He will get exposed if he has to play 30-40 minutes.  Coach put him in optimal spots, but now that teams have tape on him they will plan and shut him down.  Westbrook although spotty last year again will figure out how to beat defenses designed to slow him down.  Feel like betting on some westbrook props

3 things will be need:

1) What year is your coin from (if 2011 is it s1 or s2)
2) probably the most important...is it silver or brass.  If silver is it silver/gilt?
3) clear pics of the front and back.

Without these 3 things no one will be able to accurately give ypu an estimate.
2376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 30, 2022, 03:13:23 PM
So why not just trade Mitchell for Westbrook? isn't it possible?

I guess both are making at least $30 million per year, Westbrook probably has a higher salary than Mitchell, but Jazz are seeing Westbrook could bring the team to the championship, maybe they'll ask for the Lakers to trade Mitchell for him. I'm not so familiar with the trade rules, but is my thinking make sense?
I don't think the Jazz want just plain Westbrook on the offer. They are rebuilding and they want young players to be polished just like what they did with Gobert and Mitchell. If not young players that are in the league then future drafts will suffice, that's why a direct trade between Jazz and Lakers won't happen just like that.
They may split something from the Knicks that is why a three-way trade may happen. But these are all still rumors, we won't know what could happen until it's finalized although the Knicks do badly want Mitchell on their roster.
I guess so, it will not be a 1:1 trade that is gonna happen here. I'm happy if this trade will happen, at least these two players can again prove themselves in a new team. Mitchell going to the Knicks, it will give the team a big lift as he is really a superstar, it's just that in the playoffs he does not excel well to impact the team, hopefully with a new team he will.

Maybe yes or maybe he really a choke type of player, though the idea of being traded to Knicks is something that might give him a shot

in carrying the team to chase for the title, it's a good move for the Knicks if they are trying to bring this franchise to a winning or a title contender

team, Mitchell is a great addition. Just let Mitchell lead their offense and use all the help from his teammates in winning a game.

Everything will be announced in case there're changes that may take place, still quiet about this trade and all are just rumors.

Winning a championship with Mitchell, that's a hard task IMO. Maybe the best thing that will happen to the Nets is they will improve and will be in the playoffs not experiencing a 1st round exit again. Also, Randle himself is a big choker as well, so that's another problem the team has to fixed.
I guess the Knicks might not be interested on a Mitchell acquisition, they've already finalizing RJ Barrett four-year rookie extension that could be worth up to $120 million. So that's huge amount of money and not sure if they can still afford Mitchell then.

So probably the Jazz will have to shop around again and see what will be their options for Mitchell. Maybe some other teams are still interested on him, money wise + future trade picks.

Rj was in the conversation but the Knicks gm Leon rose gave the Jazz until last night to get to a trade, but Danny ainge is too unrealistic in his demands.  Glad the Knicks cut bait and signed rj.  Rj will still be available to be in a trade but because of poison pill clauses the Knicks will also need someone to take on a contract like evan f as well to make the money work.  Ainge is asking for too many draft picks, don't see a deal happening and at this point just want the Knicks to move on from this.

Wall Street tumbled on weekend trade after Fed Chair Jerome Powell's speech in Jackson Hole, which signaled that the US central bank would continue to raise interest rates to tame inflation, dashing investors' hopes of a gentler rate hike path.
My question is will this have any impact on cryptocurrency projects

It certainly will.  Just in theory less "profits" from other markets limits the amount of free capital they have to put money into fringe ideas like crypto (yes its still niche based investing).  Good global market good for crypto and vice versa in my eyes.

Hi to all. I decided to create a token meme in honor of Satoshi Nakamoto, no programming skills, no investment, absolutely free, it will be called "Satoshi Nakamoto", I was inspired by the story of the Shiba-Inu token. I wish there was a meme token like this and it became popular in honor of Satoshi Nakamoto and everyone had it. I decided to create a token based on "Polygon", there are cheap commissions and I can create a token for free. I currently have a telegram group t.me/satoshi_talk that I want to get at least 5000 i want to attract at least 5000 users, after that I will create a token and distribute part of it to the community, the other part, if successful, I will send it to the liquidity pool, if someone is ready to buy tokens, then I will send the received amount to the pool, this is necessary for so that the token is not an empty place, but has a certain value. I don't know what to do, where to move next, so that the project does not stand still, maybe you have ideas???

The last thing that's needed is another useless token.  Many people will lose money and a few will gain.  Further giving crypto a bad name.  Do everyone a favor and just stand down from the idea, it's poison.

^ Speaking of age, we might as well compare with CP3 who is older. He played more games and was able to maintain his turnovers per game to just over 2 in the last decade.

Cp3 and Westbrook have 2 completely different games.  Westbrook crashes the paint where cp3 just sits outside and sets up his team.  Cp3 is probably the best pg in the league, it's unfair to compare the 2 because they play 2 separate types of games.  Cp3 also doesn't crash for rebounds or drives hard to the basket.  Apples and oranges.
I'm trying to say it's not just the lost speed which youth brings (as @yahoo implied) but also the skills at handling the ball, regardless of the style they play, as the reason for the high turnovers. You can see CP3 drive to the basket too but he can get out of traffic when the paint is well defended (zone).

That rebound comparison is irrelevant to this case.

It also brings us back to the point of @harizen

~
(I was surprised that he played as part of the starting lineup at all these games Shocked)
He's gotten slow but his ball handling skills hasn't really improved as evidenced by high TPG.

It's not irrelevant.  Cp3 doesn't crash the paint anywhere near Westbrook.  That's where russ can create and wreck havoc on games but it also gets him in bad position.  Just pointing out both have different styles you can't compare the 2.  And yeah of course he lost a step at his age but I'd bet on the side of west having an off year.  Think he comes back better this year.

^ Speaking of age, we might as well compare with CP3 who is older. He played more games and was able to maintain his turnovers per game to just over 2 in the last decade.

Maybe Westbrook is not really that good at handling the ball but was only able to get pass by defenders because of his explosiveness in his early years. Harden is the same but, unlike Russell, he has a solid outside shooting to compensate for the high TPG.
