So Elon bought Bitcoin SPOT just to show his green 1.5bn dick to the world, right?

Can we agree instead of mentioning shitcoin speculating/mining in WO to accumulate more BTC to just say

"bought BTC"

to replace

"converted shitcoin X to BTC"

and the likes?

Because $ and € (and co.) are shitcoins as well, right?
And it's called "buying BTC" then, right?

For me, if i ever hold some shitcoin and convert it to Bitcoin, i will only write "bought more BTC", "bought this dip" or whatever in here.
It's basically the same as converting fiat to BTC, isn't it?
Would just tidy up this thread a bit more while shillers are kindly asked to GTFO, as usual.

Yes you are completely right, I was on a shit reporting drive and mixed up your avatar with that other Bitvest participant Indymoney god dammit shame on me! Hope my publicly apologizing here (+per PM) is sufficient to you, it won't happen again!

...

out of merit, will do later.

it is a global crisis of a century. a natural disaster (well, scope-wise, not saying it did not escape from some lab) that affects all human beings on the planet. this virus is so contagious that every single human being on this planet will have to deal with it. you either get it because of infection or in form of a vaccine. the immune systems of all human beings must cope with it. no way around that. i know i rather wait for the vaccine. it is there, it just needs to get produced on scale and distributed.

in my opinion, without the internet, we would have all ran havoc by now. tech is saving us. (it is possible that tech also got us there, i dont know)

for bitcoiners it is very weird to see the world almost falling apart while bitcoin is getting so valuable. the whole world went in kind of forced hibernation. when covid winter is over, we will make it out of our caves. it will be beautiful to meet again. humankind will have a party. the little bonus for bitcoiners is the amount of financial independence they gained.

for some areas, like for example where i live, the darkest hours are yet to come. but the silver lining is clearly visible, and it is real.

we will pull through. this is the crisis, but we will make it. hodl bitcoin and stay healthy. the rewards are breathtaking.

edit: new ATH before February 14th. i take bets.

Could be tomorrow or Tue.
That said, there is a large increase in depression levels everywhere.
My coworkers (all working remotely) are reporting exhaustion.
This is what 10 mo of stress does to you. There is only this much adrenalin.
I am more concerned whether we basically going to normality only much later.
I already hear that we should still wear masks even AFTER getting vaccinated.
Well, maybe until most people are vaccinated as to not hurt their feelings of safety, but once >90% are done, f-k it, I would not wear a mask.
It would make no sense.

Agree, still masks would make sense for workers in animal farm buildings, and for people like me, who are catching almost every virus easily each winter.
This is the first winter since decades that i don't have caught a viral infection.
Now, i'm not a defender of mass-masking, to make that clear, but there are some developments in research, like nasal enzyme sprays that attack viruses at the entry to our body. I will use these in the future for sure, because i already suffered from years of post-viral-fatigue and that is something nobody ever wants to experience or even repeat.
What i hope for, at the very best for our global culture is that nations and cultures unite to stand as one against the next global crisis. This one is showing us the very weaknesses of society, health systems and economy. Party? YES! But we should evolve and be prepared, next time when whatever may come to threaten our lifes and values.

On the Bitcoin and crypto field, i hope the waves will even out a bit soon, there's obviously some heavy shorting and selling going on, and increased demand should break this. I can now sit back and watch the show, just buy the occasional dip if there will be free fiat on my account. Easy  Cool

Yes you are completely right, I was on a shit reporting drive and mixed up your avatar with that other Bitvest participant Indymoney god dammit shame on me! Hope my publicly apologizing here (+per PM) is sufficient to you, it won't happen again!

I know these feelings, i constantly mix up messages and messengers when names are involved. But this is a different story.

Maybe unrelated:

The following statements might not be directly connected, but the emotional quality of most discussions has changed quite much in here, and it has a certain time based correlation with

THE PANDEMIC

It's that Covid shit fucking us and our lives all up. Slowly, but constantly. I experience this every day now, in some form or another. In family, society, friends, politics...
Yesterday i was watching a movie, people were close distanced, no masks, and it was the first time it all appeared fucking unnatural to me, before i realized that this pandemic life slowly becomes "normal life". This is a manifestation of the whole virus situation and social approaches to solve it slowly fucking us over, just because we were never meant to life our lives like that. We are actually slowly degrading as humans.
I feel the sentiment in WO slowly changing too, precisely since the start of this global shitshow. We don't even talk about it any more in here, and it's not because it's off topic, because dozens of things we talk about each week are OT as well. Many former active members have slowly gone quieter and quieter.

This is the crisis. This is our test as individuals, as family members, as communities, for society.

Either we evolve and handle the situation with care and foresight, or we just give in to the primal instincts of our genetic ancestors.

What would YOU prefer?

We're at WO are a minority, tied together by our dedication to BTC, Satoshi Nakamoto's present to us.
We should stand together as strong as we hodl, regardless if we think all other's opinion is worth some mushy shit or not.
Together we're sitting in this train which is going to the moon, so let's get our shit together and ENJOY IT, because for many of us it might be one of the last things we will be able to enjoy anyway, at least for some more time. Most of the "fun" is even up to come, like the expected hit on global economy.
I could go on pathetically like this, but i just hope you all know what i mean, even if i look like a over-emotional clown to some of you right now.

Gentlemen!

Big moves happening around as price going high
...

Interesting, many people predicted a small dip after breaking 40k again BEFORE we have a proper assault on the ATH. We seem to be on calm water at this moment. I feel a big move up is close, I just don’t know when, possibly a week or so after the Chinese New Year.

Keep stackin’ sats.

Now I am asking me on every larger dip, did try f2 to manipulate the market again? Why would someone sell Bitcoin now? We will see, when cryptoquant has new data.

Indeed.
But, if so, how long could they continue this game? Scarcity and illiquidity effects could kick in at some point later in this cycle, then they're fucked up by their short&dump tactics. I don't think they're evil, but one would want to compensate halvening downsides of less BTC inflow per block. In a macro scope of view, this should not affect price discovery too much.

Hopefully. Someone notice, that if they accumulate btc with this tactics, when they buy more than sell, they can continue the game very long. But now, maybe the market learns to recognize this and does do anything on this dumping. What we are need is some kind of realtime data of the outflow from this pool.
At least 2 dip orders on my side were successfully processed.
At least some btc influencer should spread the word about f2pool. (are there any?)

Broad coverage of this issue(s) will come around sooner or later, i guess.
At least they help us hodlers, by creating dips to buy.
But if illiquidity accelerates the price increase (as counter movement to their dumps), their shorts will get busted over and over again.
Game Stop and WSB has taught many a lesson about this, lately.

Off topic: GME's shorts are still not covered by far (50%), and a delay of weeks is to be considered, before hedgies will cover. They covered about 2% on friday, as it seems, and the price rose by a tad under 20%. Coincidence?

Actually installed it right after reading to give it a try.
It made me uninstall AdBlock Pro after a few minutes.
Thanks for the tip!
Really? What made it so good?

Mainly:

1. It asked me if i want to run it in private mode, and let me know the consequences at install time.
2. With ABP i had some sites with "disable ad-blocker on this page, or you won't see the content", which worked out of the box with UB sucessfully filtering out all the ads.
3. Removed that youtube commercial spots, even on the videos ABP failed doing so.

I use Brave Browser and am happy with the stuff being blocked. I don't want to go all the way and seek a fully add free environment. Sites gotta make those server bills paid.

Yes, to a certain degree of acceptability. If you have more than three ad-zones on one page, or if they're repositioning so they're displayed all the time, regardless how much you scroll the page away from them, if they hog too much resources and limit battery life, it makes them kind of unbearable to me.
I'm an old school power user. PC Energy and resources were precious back then, pretty much everbody of my type coded and used their PCs responsibly in terms of efficiency. Today it's so much not the same. I'm quite picky there.
i can well accept a single ad on a fixed position on a page, sporting some static image data and text, or maybe two of them.

EDIT: I just checked and found out i'm running "uBlock Origin", by the way.

Elon playing with the Doge boys again, must be interesting making a tweet and having such an impact on the market like that. I noticed he's removed his #bitcoin title too

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1357241340313141249

He certainly enjoys his power over others, therefore he is the type of person who probably shouldn't have any.

Is the account hacked or something? Cuz he tweeted on 2nd Feb that he will be off twitter for a while.

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1356524205374918659

Seems weird suddenly removing BTC from bio and going ham on Doge and tweeting consecutively so much about taking doge to the moon. I'm 80% sure its hacked...doesn't look like its him.

What makes you think Elon is a "good guy"?
To me it looks like he's clearly manipulating, using his power and range on twitter, and it's not the first time.
Sometimes there are interviews of ex-scientists that were working for Tesla, most of them saying he is a maniac and expects the impossible. Seems like if you don't meet his opinion, you're out of the company really quickly. God knows what's going on in his mind.

EDIT: At least i hope for that outflow of BTC going into Doge returns multiplied.

Unsure mate, I don't fuck with PayPal so I got no idea. If I ever need to use it I just get the missus to do it; she has a PayPal account for her business. I really should get her set up to accept BTC but her clientele are mostly soccer mums that would have no idea what the fuck BTC is or how to use it

But it will make some of them ask her or google about Bitcoin, at least.
My wife used my PP for decades, even when she had started her own business, but a few months ago i pressed her to open her own account.
I'm actively into BTC since Q3/2017, last week she asked me to explain "everything" to her  Grin

I need your help people, i really do. I need $49.000 , 1k was already donated by a great person.

Please help me as i have helped so many people enter into the Bitcoin/Crypto world (Millions of folks now).. Let us drink and be merry all grief to refrain, for we may or might never all meet here again.

WTF?  We have solicitations and trying to appeal to richies, here?

I might need some help cleaning my bathrooms in the coming days.. and I am not really very good at the kitchen either....

Actually, I have been told that I am not very good at cleaning any of the locations... so if you could scuttle your little butt over here to my place and clean the place up so that my invited chicks do not keep getting mad at me and scurrying out, I will treat you fairly... just don't steal anything...

By the way, that is what you get for not making reasonable and adequate investments in bitcoin in the past 7-8 years... sure, you might not have been completely saved from your apparent irresponsible abilities to engage in prudent money management, but reasonable and prudent investing into bitcoin could well have created some kind of cushion for you in times like this.. but maybe your state of begging now shows that you would have never been able to have managed your bitcoin stash even if you had established a reasonable one by having had started investing in it 7-8 years ago.. like you should have.

By the way (II), difficult to feel any sympathy for a begging no coiner like you, and it is NOT like you have really contributed to this thread in any kind of meaningful way - except whine about being a no coiner, and now you are a begging no coiner.. yeah.. you really deserve some donations...  yeah right...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I am holding too. I've been a bitcoiner for some time already, and these self-appointed "diamond hands" are no match for true hodlers.

I even tried to post an according statement on their Reddit.
It failed, because everything crypto gets auto-deleted by mod-bots there.
