Shouldn't the period/comma depend on the locale? Many countries use commas as the decimal mark.
It should, but it doesn't, besides accepting a comma as a decimal mark when entering values by hand: if (keyEvent->key() == Qt::Key_Comma) { // Translate a comma into a period QKeyEvent periodKeyEvent(event->type(), Qt::Key_Period, keyEvent->modifiers(), ".", keyEvent->isAutoRepeat(), keyEvent->count()); QApplication::sendEvent(object, &periodKeyEvent); return true; }

I've had enough of seeing people who have been hacked and lose coins on blockchain.info so here is a guide for beginners to make your coins 100% secure and safe from hackers.
You forgot the most important step: either don't use TOR to access your Blockchain.info wallet, or use their new onion URL: *questionable link removed* Due to the alleged questionability of that link ( blockchatvqztbll.onion), I questioned it, and found the answer is that it is genuine. It is the link provided by Blockchain.info if you connect to their regular site via Tor (and check the certificate to avoid MITM attacks). Is it really that hard to give newbies any credit whatsoever? Wait, what am I thinking? Of course it is. Never mind.

you guys are evil. Pure evil.
I don't see how. You're the one who "jokes" about running a Ponzi scheme, then acts surprised that people think you're untrustworthy. Negative, pessimistic,
Yes, I sure am. It would help, of course, if I had a single reason to be positive and optimistic. and quick to judge,
When you outright state that your own scheme is a Ponzi, one doesn't normally require lengthy deliberations to come to a judgement on the matter. and never forgive.
We can't forgive you. We're not the person you've wronged. Only they can forgive you. you are all probably virgins to.
I'm not, though I'm not sure what difference it would make if I were. A person's sexual history is completely irrelevant to this discussion. Of course I plan on paying everyone back, I have been making micro payments on btcjam ever since, despite all the hate I get here.
Despite? Or because of? I honestly hope the new world order throws your asses in concentration camps. Despicable people!
That's not a very nice thing to say. Certainly it's not something you should say if you expect forgiveness. As for myself, I know that my intentions are pure, and people are quick to judge and misunderstand me.
We know nothing about your intentions. We judge you based solely on your actions, and your actions suggest that you are either a scammer angry you got caught, or else astoundingly stupid and rude. If this is not your intention, please act in a more appropriate manner. I wanted to get a legitimate business investment, and I was jokingly calling it a ponzi.
Why did you expect that calling it a Ponzi would help you to get legitimate business investment? But instead of asking for clarification, idiots give me (-) feedback on a damn post before even risking any bitcoins!
Why would anyone ask for clarification or risk any bitcoins when you already called it a Ponzi scheme? And you losers will gamble away tons of bitcoins on stupid scammy bitcoin dice sites....
I don't. WOW OMG SO STUPIDDDD!!!
Such a concise summary of this whole affair. I couldn't have put it better myself. You think I am stupid? GOOD.
It is good that we think you are stupid? So that really was your intention after all. Good job. I HATE YOU! Ha!
Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

I invested into a stupid scam and lost my bitcoins - as a result, someone from BTCjam gave me a negative rating HERE and I can never erase that now.
Sure you can. You just have to repay the loan. Do you have any intention of ever doing so? Also, on an "investment thread" I jokingly said "invest in my ponzi, get XYZ back" and instead of someone getting the joke, they thought I was legitimately trying to scam users on here and they left me - feedback....
Of course, the fact that you did this on the same day you defaulted doesn't look suspicious at all. I like how your "joke" includes absolutely no indication that it is a joke; to the contrary, you say "I mean real business". Be honest: you thought you could scam people in order to repay your loan, and you probably thought such behaviour is justified because you were scammed yourself? Well, it isn't, and you're not fooling anyone with your "joke" excuse. It is so annoying having that evil red trade with extreme caution under my name on EVERY post It isn't on every post. Just posts in sections where such warnings are useful. What should I do?
Go sit in the corner and think about what you did.

I suppose I could be mistaken, but this question sounds a lot like:
"I'm planning on making an altcoin. What features should I add that will make it popular enough to make me rich?"
I hope not. Almost all such features are non-trivial to implement, and potentially disastrous if implemented incompetently, not that most altcoiners ever bother to try. It's the "discarding any worries about forking and or effects on value" part that makes this sound like a new coin development. Generally an altcoin creator has no concerns about forking since there is nothing to fork yet, and has no concerns about effects on value since there is no established value yet. I know, and I agree. When I said "I hope not", I did not mean "I expect not". Call me a pessimist, but I usually expect the opposite of what I hope.

I live in a subtropical climate, and for some inexplicable reason I just don't feel like fucking when the temperature is over 35°C and the humidity is close to 100%. Subtropical summers suck. Actually, I think summers in general suck. Winters suck too, but are at least good for fucking, and you don't need an alleged "study" (is that blog peer-reviewed?) to figure out why.

Pasting will fail if the data contains an invalid character. For addresses, valid characters are alphanumeric characters other than I, l, O, and 0. For amounts, valid characters are numerals and a single period as a decimal mark (commas and a leading plus sign are allowed, but ignored - don't use a comma as a decimal mark (which, inconsistently, works when not pasting) unless you like big surprises!) In both cases, leading and trailing whitespace is ignored, though as I recall it caused problems in earlier versions of the client.
I've never seen copying or pasting fail in any other situation.

If you're going to produce fuel from energy, you might as well produce hydrogen -- it's more efficient and burns more cleanly.
It's neither. Compressed hydrogen gas has 5-10 times less energy density than liquid hydrocarbon fuels, and is more dangerous to store. Even liquid hydrogen has a lower energy density than any liquid hydrocarbon, and you'd have to be crazy to keep it lying around. When it comes to efficiency of storing and transporting energy, hydrocarbons can't be beat (except by nuclear power, but that has its own problems). While it is technically true that hydrogen burns more cleanly, producing it is definitely not clean. Methane reformation (the most common industrial method) produces both carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Water electrolysis (the other method) requires vast amounts of energy. By contrast, the Fischer-Tropsch process consumes carbon oxides, though of course the carbon is released when the fuel is burned, making the whole process carbon-neutral except for the energy input. In both cases, the manufactured fuel is exactly as clean as the energy source that produced it.

Though it was some sort of error, but if it possible from that particular combination due simply to chemistry impressive.
The chemistry is not impressive at all. Water and carbon dioxide are the products of hydrocarbon combustion, along with energy. Reversing that process by putting energy back in (on an industrial scale, as opposed to a laboratory experiment) is certainly an impressive feat of engineering, but there's nothing special or exciting about the chemistry. (Emphasis added because I guarantee some people are going to misunderstand this point and think this is a source of free energy or free fuel. It isn't. You have to put in more energy to make the fuel than you get by burning it.) That said I wonder if it would work for space colonies, that said I think the modest Solar Panel doesn't get the props it deserves.
It would work, but what use would a space colony have for hydrocarbon fuel? Hydrocarbon fuels are useful on Earth because they have a high energy density and are easily transported in bulk over vast distances, but a space colony has no need to transport its energy anywhere, except perhaps as rocket fuel, but pure hydrogen has higher specific impulse, which is more important in rocketry than energy density.

Aren't two or three or four contributing full nodes better than one?
Better? Better for what? Not for bandwidth: your multiple nodes have the same combined bandwidth as you would have if you were running a single node. Not for redundancy: if your Internet connection or power fails, all of your nodes will fail simultaneously. What specific benefit do you hope to gain by this configuration?

I love that!
I don't. If you slowly bring the water to a boil, the frog will indeed leap out when it gets too hot, but if you drop a frog in boiling water, it will just die almost instantly. I don't understand why this metaphor continues to be used when it so demonstrably false.

Email still is 2-factor
It isn't. For reference, true two factor authentication means having any two of the following factors: * What you know (usernames and passwords) * What you have (mobile phone, security tokens) * What you are (fingerprints, iris/retina patterns, etc) Email access is always the first factor only, unless you email account itself uses 2FA. This is bad because the first factor is what is compromised by keyloggers (which is the whole reason for using 2FA in the first place). If you have a keylogger, your email is almost certainly compromised, and is thus useless as a form of authentication.

One Port, One Computer: The problem is that my router settings will only let me forward Port 8333 to one IP address (or computer). It will not let me set more than one IP to forward to the same Port 8333.
An explanation of port forwarding is in order. When you say IP address here, you're referring to private IP addresses (reachable only from your LAN, not the Internet). When other people connect to your Bitcoin node, they are connecting to your public IP address, and you only have one public IP address (that of the router). As a result, all incoming connections end up connecting to your router, not any of your computers, which obviously isn't what you want. This is where port forwarding comes in. With port forwarding, you tell your router that connections to your public IP on a particular public port should be forwarded to one of your computers, on a particular private IP and port. Now, it is nonsensical to try to forward a connection to two computers simultaneously. If you did, the client connecting to you would receive two simultaneous responses to each request, and fail hilariously if those responses conflicted in even the most minor way. It won't work at all, and any sane configuration software won't let you try. Thus, if you have two computers accepting incoming connections, they must use two different public ports, so that the router can know which connections go with which computer. The bigger question is, what are you really trying to do? Running two Bitcoin nodes on a single public IP is a strange configuration, and I'm not sure how such a configuration would be useful.

The thing that stumps me is this is the deposit address used for all 3 transactions: 19CLWY1baVTiE1WUBCBoay7DKsmUCuxrw4
The thing that stumps me is where you got that address from. It is not involved in any of those transactions in any way.

Year 3000. Once all of the Earth's natural resources are mapped, quantified, and there is no need for labor, who decides what is traded and its price?
A subspecies of Roko's basilisk that charges obscene prices to people who opposed the automation of all labour?

Why do you expect God to do your dirty work? That strikes me as both arrogant and kind of lazy. Why not curse your enemies yourself? Don't you know you can just buy locusts?

I just do not know why some people can still make big money when prices fall. Short selling, of course. But what we really need is better options markets so that we can still make big money when prices stay the same. I hate stability. Binary options ? No, vanilla options.
