I cant say their game is better than what they've played last year based on the pre-season results. They did win their pre-season matches including the one against Liverpool but I dont think they are better now. The real league will be much different as what you say, and I dont think what they have done in pre-season is not enough to prove that they will be competitive with the other top EPL clubs such as City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and others. They might be good enough as mediocre team but they are not that good as top team in EPL.
I agree that pre-season and league season are far different, but from what I saw so far, I think Manchester United will be able to compete on the big 4 this season if they play consistently like how they play on the pre-season, but consistency is also their main problem. But I will say they shouldn't aim to win the EPL title, they should just try to get Champions League Ticket. Pre-season cannot be used as a basis for judging a team's performance because the atmosphere and the pressure must be much different from the main league. The tight schedule and the potential for injury while playing in the Premier League will also determine the position in the table. So because the match hasn't even been held yet then it's obviously difficult to predict how Man United will perform this season. But with Ten Hag being Man United's coach along with the new players he signed, I think Man United will get a better result than last season. Although judging them based on pre-season performance might be premature, I am definitely looking forward to the new beginning of Man United in 22-23. Manchester United's new center-back is Lisandro Martinez. If Varane is unfit and Maguire is forced to play the CB position because Bailly is unreliable and often unfit, United will be doomed again. I too agree that this tweet is much better instead of all the criticism Virat has been getting from former player’s, and this shows that these two sides chose humanity over their natural rivalry. Furthermore don’t you’ll think that Virat needs to step away from the team and get back to his basics, because we need him firing for the T20 World Cup but at this current rate the team management will have to drop him, hence shouldn’t he try and revive himself before it’s too late?. Since there is big money in T20, he may still focus on that format, but IMO he should retire from T20Is and concentrate on ODIs and test matches (he can still participate in the IPL). But I am suspecting that the selectors are losing their patience. He needs to regain his form, or the selectors may ask him to GTFO. Unfortunately for Virat, and fortunately for the Indian team, a lot of promising youngsters are emerging and at least some are in direct competition with him. In order to regain form before the Asia Cup and the T20 world cup, BCCI selectors want Virat Kohli to play 3 ODIs against Zimbabwe. A failure there will not force him to retire. Yeah they are 5 down but i think it's too late for SL now as Pak need only 44 runs so they should feel safe. SL need a miracle and bit of luck as i felt that they were really unlucky to not get any wickets early, especially Prabath Jayasuriya. He is a senior player of Bangladesh Cricket. Maybe he wants to retire from T20 due to related reasons. Tamim is one of the experienced players in Bangladesh team. It would have been good for the team if he had participated in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Experienced players are much needed in World Cup. As we see Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is also being given opportunities again and again because of the T20 World Cup. Although Tamim is not such type of player but according to the situation of Bangladesh cricket it would be better for Bangladesh cricket if Tamim add to the T20 squad for upcoming T20 World Cup. Tamim Iqbal was not that too old, just 33 years. He could have played T20I for one or two more years. He has played 78 t20i and scored 1758 runs for Bangladesh with strike rate of 116. But I don't understand why he is thinking of retiring now. Bangladesh is yet to find a suitable replacement for Tamim Iqbal. There is no good opener in any Bangladesh squad. So if Tamim Iqbal retires now then the Bangladesh team will definitely face a problem. Tamim should be with the team for the next World Cup. There's no point in calling it off at this point. The hard hitting ability is still there in him. As Bangladeshi cricket lovers, we are very disappointed and saddened by this news. He made a bad decision here, in my opinion. T20 has lost a great sportsman. A great gentleman and one of the best openers in the Bangladesh team. All his life he has been a fantastic cricketer, playing at a time when Bangladesh became a major power. |
