As far as I remember, ICC really did not want to fund Kenya at all. This is because they did not start league cricket and that’s when it all started sliding downhill for Kenya. A lot of corruption was the main cause of Kenya not being able to compete at that top level of cricket.

And the same is true for the Zimbabwe cricket board but the thing is ICC is still funding them. But if they don’t show significant improvements, I don’t think ICC is planning to fund them for long.

At this point, I also believe that they do not deserve funding because they show no signs of improvement. It would be better to split the funds among the top 10 African teams.

I don't think we have total 10 teams from African continent because as I have watch we have only South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Uganda and Kenya if we have any better team then please share here because from these just one team is doing good in all three formats and other teams are not having solid infrastructure and other facilities for this game with most chances ICC is also not interested to give them any proper help for developing just because of this now Soccer is main game in this region with the help of FIFA and African confederation which is doing amazing job for the development of soccer.

Here, South Africa can do leading role but due to their inner issues they are also having no good interest so with this all no positive hopes for having any better results from this region.

I used to follow global political during 90s and 2k till the news channels became a circus, so i am sure you will get the information regarding Kenyan politics around that period online. There was match fixing allegations against their key players during 2004 and there was a dispute between the players and the Kenyan Cricket board and the government even dissolved the board during that time if you are not aware of that. Corruption was the main reason and to expect ICC to keep on funding them is ridiculous.

Well... this is new information for me. But even then, I have a few questions. If corruption was the main reason, then why it is not applicable for Zimbabwe? It is estimated that out of the $12,000,000 they receive from the ICC every year, close to 90% is stolen by the corrupt officials. Kenya's funding amounted to around $400,000 in 2004 and now it amounts to $100,000 per year. If both the boards are corrupt, then what is the reason for such big disparity in funding? I don't see any logic in showering Zimbabwe with tens of millions every year, while providing emerging teams such as Uganda or Namibia with less than 1% of that amount.

Few things are happening miserably by ICC and no one can understand what is logic behind this all but still we are talking about this all and trying to understand this all politics which is happening here just for money but still not good for game.

ICC never been a good sports authority we all know, but they are financially very strong which is positive point for them, but they have not fair and good way to spend money for emerging countries which is not good even they can do this all like FIFA is doing around the world and have no issues even they are not allowing Governments to interfere in their way which is good thing, so they also need to be powerful and brave in their decisions which can help this game.

However, we all know that they are not capable of taking powerful and courageous decisions. They are always obliged to depend on the big 4 for any decisions. I like cricket a lot, but I have to say I don’t like the way ICC handles things at all. If the big four is trying to control everything, what is the point of having ICC then?

The things that are happening miserably as a result of their politics. ICC will never be able to come out of this situation and take decisions on its own. It all comes down to that 2007 World Cup where the smaller teams showed a very successful performance, but the revenue was not very lucrative. ICC saw this as an opportunity to make money and the big four saw it as a chance to solidify their position in cricket. So basically, it is like a contract between the ICC and the big four.

After reading here and having some other details about Kenya I search and have update that there is no league, and they have too many domestic issues which are preventing them for having good team in cricket and this is not easy for anyone to start from scratch and bring all things in a strong system because government is also not interested in this case which is the biggest issue for them.

But, sadly we have no sports authority in Africa which works for cricket like they have for Soccer which is another setback for this continent, and surely they are still in dark ages in many fields which nothing is good happening in many countries with conflicts and personal egos are bringing some good damage in properties and others as well just South Africa and Zimbabwe are good enough for having better things with now Zambia and Uganda are also working for having better results.

There is no doubt ICC current policies are killing teams which are going with their native countries, and they are completely failure to bring any solid policy for them which is never been ideal for spots authority like ICC they need to encourage these countries which are surely having better future in this game instead of favouring those are coming in game with adopted players and have no better infrastructure.

If they want to favour them then surely allow nearly five or six players but going with all 11 players from other countries and having status of adopted country is never been ideal situation which is surely bringing bad image and having negative impact on countries like PNG, Nepal and Kenya. In last few years now players from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are enjoying good in these adopted countries because they have good benefits from them just because of their better resources and native country players are going down.

Does Nepal hold talent hunts quite frequently? I don't think they do. Otherwise, they should have had a lot more players. A lot of young talented players in the pipeline. Nepal was a team that had a lot of potential if we just looked at it a few years ago. Nepal was playing quite competitively and it also was giving a lot of trouble to teams like Bangladesh, West Indies, Ireland, etc. But suddenly they just got lost in time. 

I think they will have to show a good performance again if they want to get noticed by the ICC and also have a little more funding. And they will not be able to perform well as long as they don't have good players of their own. And let's be honest, the people of the country are not going to let their kids play cricket as a profession if the money is not good.

What I think is that African teams are more serious about football compared to cricket. That's because football is a game that is a lot more popular in Africa. I have to say they are doing well in football as a region compared to cricket. There are also politics in football in Africa. But I don't think football has suffered the problem of having the quota system. I don't know why ICC does not give them proper funding. I think these countries have a really high potential.

I have to say that in cricket, this is a region that seems to be neglected. ICC certainly does not fund the teams in this region as they should In my opinion, ICC does not adequately fund any smaller teams. However, the situation has been a bit too severe for teams in this region. Obviously, those teams are also facing corruption, which is not helping at all. The ICC is also in search of money. So any upgradation of this region in cricket seems to be unlikely in recent times.

Surely there were good friendships between these cricketers, but recently we have some harsh time because as India have Prime Minister like Modi things are change drastically, and now we have more hated things instead of friendships it's all happening just because of dirty politics and corrupt system which is in power in these both countries, and they are trying to rise this heat because they love money and want more bloodshed instead of love. Now we are not going to be good friends in near future because criminals having long duties in power houses, and they need this all for the success of their business.

I have to say these are the things that make me realize Indian players actually do not want Pakistan to not play in India. If the board was run by actual cricket players who know what to do, we would have seen a lot more bilateral series between India and Pakistan,.

ICC has its headquarters in the United Arab Emirates, and many of its top administrators are based out from that country. UAE and the other Arab nations are in the good books of the ICC guys, and that is the reason why they changed the eligibility rules sometime the 2000s, to allow formation of "national" teams where 100% of the players are foreigners. And now coming to poor countries such as Kenya, Nepal and PNG, they don't have any economic clout, and doesn't have the monetary power to bribe the ICC officials.

I too agree that this tweet is much better instead of all the criticism Virat has been getting from former player’s, and this shows that these two sides chose humanity over their natural rivalry. Furthermore don’t you’ll think that Virat needs to step away from the team and get back to his basics, because we need him firing for the T20 World Cup but at this current rate the team management will have to drop him, hence shouldn’t he try and revive himself before it’s too late?.

I too agree that this tweet is much better instead of all the criticism Virat has been getting from former player’s, and this shows that these two sides chose humanity over their natural rivalry. Virat's style of play has changed over the years and he is no longer suitable for T20 cricket. Since there is big money in T20, he may still focus on that format, but IMO he should retire from T20Is and concentrate on ODIs and test matches (he can still participate in the IPL). But I am suspecting that the selectors are losing their patience. He needs to regain his form, or the selectors may ask him to GTFO. Unfortunately for Virat, and fortunately for the Indian team, a lot of promising youngsters are emerging and at least some are in direct competition with him.
