I can't open Semux wallet, 1st time it works, I sign up for a new account, 2nd time input my password then it disappear like never opened.
what should I do guys?

Close your semux wallet. Delete the database folder then restart the computer. Open your wallet and see if the password works.

Where can one buy some SEM with BTC?

Thanks!

You can buy on SEM here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2281323

But always use escrow.Be safe
Here I see a lot of demand, but how to ensure safety? Fair? No third party trust agency?

Since there is no exchange yet always ask for escrow. I have done multiple escrow for this community as well as other known escrow. Make sure to be careful with your trades via OTC or better yet just wait for the mainnet launch and exchange listing.

I would love to see a clearer description of how the pools work once we're on mainnet.  For now, it seems like pools should keep splitting delegates so that they always are in top 100, but with as few votes as possible, such as to maximize their number of eligible delegates.  It's a bit of a race to the bottom.

Why not scale delegate rewards logarithmically with votes?  That way higher-vote delegates get some benefit and incentive, but not perfectly scaling so they don't become overly powerful.

Interesting idea to do it logarithmically.  I've be tempted to leave it alone though and just see what happens.

I think the system would be more fair though if the payouts to voters were handled automatically by the semux code itself versus relying on validators to write their own external code to split the rewards.  Also, in that case, you wouldn't have to worry about some validators keeping all the money for themselves and not sharing it with voters (which most seem to do now except for at least two pools of validators).  I suppose though the block size might get really, really big and full with reward splitting if too many voters were participating.  If that happened every 30 seconds, it might just get too large.

If the block reward were split automatically by the semux code itself, it could do things like not charging a transaction fee for transactions related specifically to the payouts to voters.

If the block size would be too large paying every 30 seconds, the semux code could still manage payouts and do a once-a-day payout, but it would have to keep track of data of all the data being accumulated throughout the day in the database.  The code would be trickier, but have much smaller overall block usage.

This idea has been explored by the dev team and share some of your concern regarding bloating the blockchain. Personally I am comfortable with the current setup. As time goes we will be able to identify who are the validators sharing profits and who isn't. The economy behind this will playout once we go mainnet.

What are the exchanges for SEM Token, where can i find coin specs about SEM token, is it EC20 token?
Semux is NOT an ERC20 token. It has it's own block chain and different protocol. Exchanges will be listed after the mainnet launch.

The testing guide would help in increasing the number of participants. Please try to set up a guide with detailed steps
i also want to know what should i do about the testing. i hope we can get a guide to do it.
Testing now means downloading and installing the wallet. If you encounter any problems please report here or on Discord so the dev team and the community will be able to help.

Also participation in the signature bounty is encouraged. Spread the word so that more people will know about semux.

I've been participating in signature campaign of Semux progect sinse 09 Dec. 2017.
02.01.2018 (or 03.01.2018) I've became Jr.Member. But 08. Jan. 2018 I got just 7 SEM for last week.
Could somebody explaine me why I got SEM like Newbie?

This is understandable since each round we get more participants. This means that more people are sharing the signature rewards. This will continue to happen as we get more and more people joining the signature bounty.

Yes, it would be really great to know about the exchanges. Any comments, team?

Also, regarding this question - will it be listed on bestrate, org? I generally use it, so I'd like to see it there!

Specific discussion about exchange listing will be discussed after the launch.

Hi, due to popularity of semuxpool_com validator pool, I've opened up "semuxpool_com2"

If you have voted for semuxpool_com, you can move over your votes, providing that both stay above ~32k votes, payout will be higher.
Or if you think you missed the bandwagon for the pool, new validator opens us up to having more votes for better payouts.

Of course, if they both end up at 60k, well, then its the same as other pools Cheesy
More pools the better!

I am working on cleaning up the validator payout pool code to be released as open source software.  I'm interested in long term health of semux, so having the 100 validators all be pools would be amazing.  Expect it around time of semux mainnet release.  Still working on pulling out hardcoded configuration into something more generic.

Pools pay out once per day (originally I had it pay out sooner if you had sufficient stake, but once per day seems best)

This is great news. Please share the software so that I can also have my delegate up for voting.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - 🚀 BTC Airdrop Now 🚀 on: January 10, 2018, 07:36:08 PM

Thanks for answering.
But why i was not included on last week?  It is strange since i had applied to the campaign about 3 days before the fifth week ended.
I also posted more than minimal requirements, but the problem is i was not included to the participants list.

Does dev only accept new Participants after the next week? it seems yes.
The list of participants for Signature Campaign is generated before the week starts. That means that if you join mid of week 5, you will not get the week 5 rewards, instead you will be part of the week 6 participants.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - 🚀 BTC Airdrop Now 🚀 on: January 10, 2018, 08:16:40 AM
where to see exchanges for this coin and where you want to adding on exchanges?
interesting to join in airdrop.

There are no exchanges yet but will coming soon.
Anyone knows how they will calculate the starting price on the exchanges?
You can't base it just on some numbers that are payed by few in the sell topic here on the forum.
I'll buy for an amount between 250 and 600 dollar depending on the starting price.

This is all speculation yet. We will know for sure when the mainnet launch and semux gets listen on an exchange.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - 🚀 BTC Airdrop Now 🚀 on: January 10, 2018, 08:15:19 AM
Semux wallet is really demanding on resources. Now the folder Semux 1.0.0-rc.5 is about 850 Mb. After starting the main network, all the records of the database will also move to the new wallet? With the advent of the exchange, the number of transactions will increase many-fold. Maybe the development team is already thinking about an easy web client for Semux? Is it possible to implement this technically?

When mainnet starts the network will reset to block 0. All the balances will be taken via snapshot and will be moved by dev to each eligible addresses.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - 🚀 BTC Airdrop Now 🚀 on: January 10, 2018, 04:24:45 AM
For testnet, my understanding is we are limited to 64 validators.  For mainnet, I believe it will increase to 100 validators.  The list of validators is based on the ones that have the top votes.

But how does a validator get selected for the block reward?

Is it a simple round robin approach, so for testnet, each validator has 1/64'th chance of being selected?  Or is it weighted so that the validators with the most votes always get the reward?  Suppose there are 1 million votes cast.  The top validator has 100000 votes and validator #64 has just 1 vote.  (I'm making numbers up for simplicity.)  Does validator 64 have a 1/64 chance of getting the block reward or only a 1/1000000 chance?

I understand with the launch of the mainnet, those of us who spent 1000 SEM to be a delegate will get that amount "refunded".  Will we get the keep the delegate status in mainnet, or need to spend our refunded 1000 SEM again to get it back?

Are votes only done in whole numbers?  (i.e., can there be a 0.05 vote?)

(I apologize for the basic questions.  The wikis and FAQs seem to gloss over a lot of this--and it's possible I may have missed the section covering it too.)
This is a very good question. Regarding validator selection, it was initially round robin type of validation from top to bottom. However there has been change in the process and it is now pseudo random. Meaning the order of validation is no longer from top to bottom but randomly selected until all validator gets a chance to validate. This means that per round each validator will be able to forge a block provided it doesn't miss the validation period.

I have voted for a delegate for few weeks now and I have not received any reward. Do I have to do something extra like leaving the wallet running?
Delegates-and-Validators do not share rewards automatically. Make sure to join the pool or have an agreement with the owner of the validator to share the rewards before placing your votes.

week 6 signature campaign participants:

https://www.semux.org/assets/week6.txt

My name was on the list. But my current posts in this week are counted at today, not the last Sunday. It really not fair.

The week just started so you have plenty of time to make more posts. Spread the word and let the world know of semux.
