222  Other / Meta / What's the process to unblock/unban thread and account? on: January 23, 2018, 12:03:15 PM
Hi All,

Just want to know what's the process to get an account and thread unblock/unbanned?

Our Dev got banned and our thread got locked by Mod "hilariousandco" sighting below as reason for the ban.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2159012.msg28374360#msg28374360
Quote
Semux is banned due to the appaling level of spam coming from their signature campaign and are no longer allowed to advertise here until further notice. Once they have the decency to respond to my messages and I'm convinced that measures have been put in place to curb spam I'll consider unbanning/unlocking.

This is very understandable and the Semux Dev and community agrees to take measures regarding this issue.

Quote
To avoid spam from the signature campaign, the following changes are implemented:
1. Disallow newbie and junior members from participating in the campaign;
2. Change the 10 posts per week requirement to 1 posts per week.
3. Hire a bounty manager to help manage the event.

I'm not sure if  Mod "hilariousandco" missed our message or what not but we received no reply from him even after sending him multiple messages. Any other Mods available to help us? Or at least guide us on what to do to get our thread unlocked and unban our dev's account? Any help and guidance will be appreciated.

Are there active nodes for this? Also I can see the pool is not up yet, how can we start mining this?
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: January 20, 2018, 12:11:15 AM
A few days ago I posted that I had attempted a withdraw from stocks.exchange to my Intense Coin Wallet version 1.4.1.  When I did so, stocks eventually gave me a message saying withdraw error.  The coins disappeared from stocks and never showed up in the wallet.  Today, they are finally back at stocks and showing up in my account there.

I am again go to request that the coins be transferred to my wallet.  What I'd like to know is, in the address field at stocks do I put the entire address that I copied from the intense coin wallet?  It is extremely long and unlike any other crypto address I've used.  I'm a real novice so please excuse my ignorance.  Any help is appreciated.

The wallet is fully up to date on my hard drive.

This issue is common on stocks.exchange. I also had this same problem when withdrawing from the exchange to my ITNS wallet. Currently they have been getting more volume and with that as well experience scalability issues. Hopefully this gets sorted out since there are quite a few gems that are listed in stocks.exchange, ITNS included.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: January 19, 2018, 11:56:28 PM
Can we still PoS Bitconnect coins?

Yes, you can still stake BCC coins. In fact, the network weight is really increasing so a lot of people are staking at the moment. I think people realize that BCC coins can be rebranded and used for something else in the future. It has a worldwide following and interest. Bitconnect would have kept going if not for all the jealousy, DDoS attacks and bankster/govt attacks on it. The establishment just does not want the little guy to stop being a wage slave, so they can keep a stranglehold on them.

========================

https://news.bitcoin.com/autopsy-of-the-bitconnect-implosion-ponzi-centralization-governance/

Bitconnect X also got a cease and desist order.

Bitconnect failed the Ponzi filter, but it also, and more importantly, failed the decentralization test: it could be given letters of cease and desist. It could be hectored. And because it was centralized, it lacked a robust segment of its team to shake it out of its scam properties. A perfect storm. This isn’t to exactly absolve Bitconnect’s religious believers. They’re guilty too, and as of this writing, they’re busy trying to resurrect the dead, pumping their coin (which they insist doesn’t exist) back up even if ever so slightly.

BCC can still be used as a legit cryptocurrency provided they move away from it's ponzi roots. BCC can be staked and looking at it transfer of funds is relatively fast. If the dev of this project or the community will make an effort to make it as a legit decentralized cryptocurrency it may yet have  a future.

So ive never solo mined before, I don't need to specify a wallet address in the ccminer script?

No that's normally for pools

do it just go to whatever address I get from doing  ./phcd listreceivedbyaddress 0 true

also is a 10k hashrate even worth doing?

Not sure which address it goes to exactly. no if you look at the pools their in the GH/s, scrypt = asic mining

does this work with ccminer and GPU's?

Yes this works with ccminer and GPU but the performance is way slower than scrypt asics.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: January 19, 2018, 12:16:56 PM
i heard something different information about bcc today. bcc is down and crashed. is it hacked ? hopefully this condition will be back and  the dev gives solutions of this problem soon.  Smiley
I don't think Bitconnect will go back up. This has been a Ponzi scam since the beginning. It ran for a long time and people who started early and cashed out on their investments got rich while those who started lated got rekt. Hopefully this will serve as a lesson, and expensive lesson, to everyone and avoid these types of scams.

I would like to know as well if this works with GPU or purely CPU. Interested in putting in a bit of hashpower into this project.

Just throwing this out here for discussion purposes...

With the cryptocurrency massacre happening now for just about every coin out there, should the semux team consider delaying the mainnet launch until things cool down?

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, etc. all are getting hammered today and yesterday.  Seems like bad timing to introduce a new coin.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't delay anything because of market turmoil. That could happen at any time. I don't think Semux needs a big flashy launch either. Better IMO to slowly build momentum over time while any kinks in the mainnet launch get worked out. I like the way the project is still mostly under the radar. Semux is a long term hold for me.

This I would agree. Semux can stand on its own and besides what we are seeing is not a "cryptocurrency massacre". It's a price correction we get to see year after year since crypto trading began.

The Semux Dev team have been consistently following their roadmap which lead to a solid RC network and without a doubt will also deliver a strong mainnet during launch. No need for delay unless there are critical bugs found. With that we have 2 days left before launching the Semux mainnet

Hello devs, so just me so lucky that your site is not working whole day?  http://semuxchain.info/   or something wrong with my settings?

The site is working. You can also visit https://semux.info/explorer

232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - 🚀 BTC Airdrop Now 🚀 on: January 17, 2018, 12:55:04 AM
So we don't need to provide our BTC address in the form and only need our Semux Address + Signed Message? Is there any way to check it worked or do I just wait until Sunday?

Have you checked your btc addresses here
https://www.semux.org/btc/

If yes and it says you are qualified then you will be included in the next drop.

Someone else is using RDP? Cant access normaly to semux wallet through RDP client, show only white screen. Localy all is fine.
I don't see how RDP relates to semux. Maybe you meant RPC? Currently the only way to communicate with semux other than through the wallet is to use the API.

Think trading has dried up, everyone waiting for main net to launch and possible trading on gate.io.

Any link confirming the listing date for gate.io? Did devs ask for listings or is it an independent listing after stable main net is deployed?
There is no mention of any specific exchange listing yet. Dev will announced what are the planned exchange for semux after the mainnet launch.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - 🚀 BTC Airdrop Now 🚀 on: January 14, 2018, 09:41:35 AM
When will be listed on exchange?
After main net launch.

How long after net launch?
No definite date yet. The dev already committed to work on exchange listing after the launch. Let's wait for it.

after, or before, the mainnet you guys really have to work on official website and especially on documentation (plus team, roadmap)
This is a work in progress, please be patient with us.

As a question for how pools 'should' run.  I have 2 validators.  Right now each pay out separately, so votes for one are 1/44k share and other is 1/40k share.
I am playing around with allow configuration to treat them just as one big pool.  So everyone gets 1/84k share of  2x the reward.

At the moment, it doesn't matter, but if i were to start say 'pool3' (I'm not), I want to encourage votes for it, so it would make sense to allow those voters to still receive a share, even though its not forging yet.

Downside is, if I open up a new pool, those who already have votes on a 'full' one have no incentive to balance their votes to the lower one.  And balancing votes is a good thing.

Thoughts?  Pros and cons to each.. just not sure what makes most sense.

At first glance it looks like having the pools payout separately provides a nice incentive to balance out the votes. Pool operators with large SEM reserves will presumably also have a lot easier time optimizing their validator vote counts for the maximum payout/vote ratio by topping of their validator vote counts with their own SEM.

Something that just occurred to me is I wonder if pools with multiple validators could attack each other by pulling votes. Imagine if a competing pool, run by a SEM whale, saw you starting pool3, they could then take some of their reserve SEM and use it to fill up a large portion of your pool3 vote capacity.  Then at the most opportune time for them (maybe when they have enough votes to make another validator) they pull their votes from pool3 making it lose its validator status and lowering your payout across all 3 pools (if your treating them as one big pool). Probably not a realistic scenario lol.. just trying to imagine crazy things that might happen.

That's always a possibility. However it would also be dangerous for someone to play with the vote count as their own validator might be voted out of the top 100. We will see how this would play out as we roll out the mainnet and get more adoption.

semuxpool_com and semuxpool_com2 update:
payouts for last ~24 hours went out.

Bug in validator code caused semuxpool_com2 to pay out 2 times (until it ran out of SEM).  Working on fix now Cheesy

There were only a few addresses that did not meet minimum payout for the day, most voters were paid out.

Thanx mate. Payout recieved.
I Would even settle for a weekly or bi weekly payout, if it’ll save up on transaction fees.
That won’t matter that much though, once main net goes live, fees get smaller.

Only got one payout from com2 btw, I would have sent it back otherwise.

I would second this. No need to process daily while we are still on RC network. On the mainnet with the increased block reward and lower network fee you can maybe set a threshold of minimum sems before sharing the rewards.
