It seems eth etc both are in coma. Tiny volume, least movement in price, lack of general interest. If this condition persists newcomers will never know about these 2 coins in near future.

Is it time to buy?
Yes, it is time ti buy ETHC and sell ETHF.

Says a bagholder... Cheesy
@thedreamer no id say that knows by now the whole comuntiy
like berry silbert https://twitter.com/barrysilbert/status/776456338218053632
trust is the most important in doing bussines and vitalik broke a promis. i was investor in the crowdsale. i feel betrayed. and so do many others.
@yns1971 i can tell you what i do and did in crypto i have a look at the people behind a coin. is there a strong comunity have promises been broken. what did the protagonists of a coin do befor. and then i trust my tummyfeeling. i made a good profit with ethereum but i wont stick to it for the future becouse of broken trust. i stick to ETC the comunity is strong it didnt drow principles away. and even with no founding money it acomplished so much in this last 2 month
if you are interested read this.

Who is the hell selliing etc?? this is big amount of selling!!! Angry Angry Angry

This is crypto, it seems that they are selling but they are buying.
i think thiis coin is already fail... price tell everything market tell the thruth....
considering that ETC is just 2 month old lets look at EThereum when it was 2 month old?
2 month after crowdfunding what was the price ? i guess i remember it was below 1$ and then didnt deliver anything real till just a year ago. and it broke promisses.
lets look at ETC what has been acomblished?
it  stood alive.
has a plan to deal with the most reckless gift the Ethereum foundation gave us the diff bomb.
has first dapps working in progress.
has lots of devs joining and wait it is listed on exhanges
thats a lot more then ethereum had after 2 month and o yes it does all this with no crowdfunding money couse ETH took all of that with them.
so yes this is a strong coin. couse the comunity is strong .
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 12, 2016, 07:09:53 AM

Some very interesting points made by Charles.  A rebrand looks inevitable.

But he is correct, "Overall, it's been a great two months!"

"Action packed" i would say.  I can't wait to see the movie.   Cheesy

I was thinking if we had to change our name... we could use

Aetherum Classic as a name.

We could use Aether as the unit of currency with awei, aszabo, afinney as subdivisions

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aether

hi green,
i dont think we need or should rebrand.

some thoughts on it
if you sell someting with a brand on it like Ethereum was done you cant sue the buyer for using the brand.

i bought my ethereum and ethereum classic was a gift from ethereum foundation beccouse of the fork.
so how could they by any means sue anyone for trademark?
i cant see a case there .
its like microsoft  sais now o i dont like windows xp anymore i hate it i want it to die and therefor i forbit every one to use my trademark windows on it ....
i read what charles said there about investors .... microsoft got investors and they had a lot of open ends legali as i recall.
if you get bigger you always get sued for plagiat or what ever.
i wonder how the founding will be done in etc .... via donation ? fees ? do you have an idea about what is planed ?

and the goverance ?

https://blog.bity.com/2016/09/06/whitehat-withdrawal-contract-final-deposit-is-available/

The DarkDAO attacker withdrew 3.64 million ETC on September 6th 00:02 CET.
The funds are now located inside this address 0x5e8f0e63e7614c47079a41ad4c37be7def06df5a. At the time of writing most of the funds are intact except for 1,000 ETC the attacker donated to an address associated with ETC development. The WHG kindly ask that the recipient of these funds deposit the 1000 ETC to the withdraw contract so it can be distributed to its rightful owners.

@bitpoop.

...hope you have spoken to your etc devs and asked them to refund the etc to the rightful owners.

i have asked them and sugested that they freeze it in a wallet and hand that wallet over to law enforcement and cops . telling them its maybe stohlen good and they shall keep it. and explain what the whg did .
hope you feel satisfyed with it

DO NOT FORGET CODE IS LAW

We are not law enforcement or police and first of all we believe he is not hacker or attacker but very talented person who kindly helped us find bug in the system and should be awarded for this not punished!

who is we ?
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 06, 2016, 08:49:01 PM

Only 1000 ETC? Surely he can do better than that. He "earned" millions from the "hack" and that is all he can spare? That is funny. I cannot see how this is big news. Also there is the bigger problem. What does he intend to do with all his ETC now that he has full control of it? Not to dump on the market I hope. It would be nice to have an official statement from him.

Hackers are Bad guys. What ever the reason is, taking someone's property without consent is nothing but stealing. And we are expecting nice thing from a hacker ??

He had consent. Everyone who sent to the dao consented to the terms of the contract. That contract had an actionable clause in it allowing for him to make a withdrawal. Hes not a hacker. He was exercising his rights as per the terms and conditions of the contract that everyone agreed to.

I didn't agree to a contract where anyone can take the funds at their whim. I agreed to a DAO that would have been used to kickstart new projects and the like.

Than you don't understand what ETH is. What its for. Why it exists. What it represents. Look at the title of this thread. Immutable. The code IS the contract, sending funds IS the signature.

but this is wrong not the etherum blockchain alowed the hack it was a third party the dao which had the bug and alowed the draining but the ethereum devs and foundation decided to step in and bailout those who trusted tual and co. so ethereum  eth fork lost its immutablety
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 06, 2016, 05:39:21 PM
I think ETC should not receive or return the reward from the hacker.

The whole point of this project is to stand behind the principles that imply that he is not a hacker at all. Those funds legitimately belong to him. He can do as he likes with them.

mmmmm sorry i dont think thats what ETC sais ETC sais we are not the law like in lawenvorcement. but the line code is law means something different it means the blockchain is immutable the ledger shall not be changed. we do not say we know if the hack or the takeing was a crime . there need to be an investigation. we are not the despot to decide . every person has a right of a objective investigation and a trail befor anounced guilty. and thats why ETC happend. not becouse we say its legal what the "hacker" did. me thinks given the evidence that have been published he took them legit but moraly hmmm or ethicaly not correct.becouse if the code was supost to act like it did the whole thing the dao was created like a fraud. and so he followed the fraud. was just faster then the one who planed to do the fraud.

Sorry but I disagree. The main point of ethereum is to develop an autonomous legal system. As per the terms of that legal system, the only legal system that has jurisdiction in matters of the ethereum blockchain, the "hacker" was within legal bounds. If some outside legal agency wants to interfere with the self governence of the sovereign ethereum blockchain than they are aggressors.
hmm interesting point of view you have.
ok lets say you are right and it was ment to be a autonomous legal system ( didnt see that in the white paper but anyway)
how can such a system prevent fraud ? like  i said befor if the hacker acted legal the whole dao was fraud haveing that bug on purpose.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 06, 2016, 02:36:21 PM

Any of you dumping ETH for ETC?

I think yes. In exchanges I have noticed that people are selling ETH for ETC

yes already did

We're waiting to get clearance from law enforcement before releasing the WhiteHat ETC now that the withdrawal contract is ready.

gosh i love it

its difficult to undo a crime by adding a crime and a crime and a crime dig dig dig

What does law enforcement got to do with ETC and cryptocoins for that matter? Do they know what they are dealing with? Cheesy

Be careful when dealing with the authorities some of them are corrupt and would want their fair share of the ETC. Hehehehe. Grin

i know you are an anarchist but the real world where polo acts has laws that have been broken and the terms of polo are clear.

you need to be rightful owner of good if you like to trade them on that exchange. they ask for your passport if you register. so they do have names.
but anyway its a great show game of clones lol i love it every day a new spectacular turn i just love it

so ETC finished now? Dropped to 185k sats... will this one ever see a XMR type of pump? Dropping from 650k to 500k then 400k, 2 weeks ago 300k, last week 250k, now below 200k... what is next? 0 sats?

This project probably will not succeed on it's own. You guys are going to have to get out there and make the case. You are going to have to explain to everyone who will listen how this project represents a principle and a legal precedent so much greater than a single hack or individual hacks that are bound to happen.

I really hope it doesn't die. I loved the idea of ethereum. That idea is dead on the fork chain that everyone is blindly following. And its just a tiny little flame against the cold cold world here.
you mean one needs to explain what the centralizing of the world computer ETH means ? for everyone ? and for all generations to come ? and why ETC is so important to stop the slavery of all humans ? and i dont think i use too big words or blow up what is happening if ETH succeds imagin a world where a hand full of psychopats has all rights all means and  owns the world computer thats total power .

hi all!!!
i'm on windows 7 64bit with Mist wallet
it is possible to move blockchain from %appData% to other HDD???
there is something like bitcoin -datadir="folder dir" parameter??

thank you

UP UP UP...

no one can help here plz???

You seem to have a "unorthodox" view of ANNs - the individual was asking for a non-standard operation of a Wallet-QT on the Windows OS.

Furthermore, the individuals extra need is not a requirement for the successful operation of crypto-currencies.

Therefore, because it is unnecessary, there is very little or no interest in it on this ANN.

Equally, there may be security issues involved in operating a Wallet-QT outside its' specifications for Windows OS.

Consequently, for the individuals own benefit, he has been told to contact the Ethereum Foundation.

hi italian do i understand right you want to migrat your blockchain from one mashine to another ?
i tryed that becouse i got a mashine and didnt want to download the whole wallet again , which took me a week to get all the blocks on my laptop.

and no i didnt get it done had to reload the blockchain. copy and past didnt work

maybe you come to the etc thread where you find helpful people who are not to arogant to answer questions.
