241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★ ZEIT ★ [COMMUNITY & KNIGHTS] [ULTRA LOW INFLATION] [MICRO-PAYMENTS] on: April 11, 2020, 07:47:25 AM
So, is there any exchange left for Zeitcoin?

None at the current time.

Just 2 years ago, ZEITCOIN had 8 exchanges.
Since then
alcurex          Died
Altitilly            Delisted, Coin adding factory
CoinExchange  Died
Cryptopia        Hacked/Died
NovaExchange    Died
TradeSatoshi    Died
TraderCX           Died without telling anyone.

SouthXchange wanted to extort $1500 to reopen the deposits and withdraws on zeitcoin,
their extortion attempt was refused so they delisted zeitcoin.

ZEITCOIN has outlived more exchanges than you can shake a stick at.

Starting with Cryptorush, Zeitcoin has been on a long list of illustrious exchanges

It was just RingCT without bulletproofs were humongous, like 14 kB for regular tx or something, and I think that may have been during kind of alphabay insanity days, so maybe significant portion of that 26 GB is from them, but that is a lot more analysis than I'm willing to provide  Smiley

About how long will it take the blockchain to reach 32 GB?

I think without pruning it's already like 80 GB or more, and even with pruning maybe more than 32.
lmdb synced from scratch with pruning as of today is 26.5 GB
I ask because I want to put lmdb on external media.  Will a 32 GB thumb last a few months, or should use my only bigger usb, which is 128 GB.  I would prefer to save the bigger usb for other things.
So how long does it take for the blockchain to grow 5 GB with pruning?

The number of transactions is on the rise, but considering that it took 6 years to get to 26.5, I would guess you'd get at least another year out of it if not two. Although RingCT transactions are significantly larger than pre-RingCT, if I remember correctly, but still, I would guess at least a year.

Lets not forget bulletproofs have shrunk transaction what 90%? so I'm going to hazard a guess that current transactions today are smaller than those initially and therefore he should have a few years. either way its not tough to copy 32gb thumb drives when the time comes.

But I don't know the numbers just taking a wild guess that I'm pretty confident is true.

No, I'm pretty sure that even with bulletproofs txs are still significantly larger than in the olden days. See here:
https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/211/how-much-larger-are-monero-transactions-compared-to-the-average-bitcoin-transact

Looks like pre-RingCT could be as small as a few hundred bytes for normal txs, now about 2 kB.
247  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Collectible Cards of Bitcointalk Users. on: April 07, 2020, 04:52:18 PM
P.S.
This is a fairly common delivery system from the CIS countries, do not worry, you will receive your cards anyway Smiley

I don't believe a single person has received their card yet, let alone the new toys you are making.  I'm starting to worry to be honest.  I sent you bits nearly 2 months ago and nothing has arrived.  Even snail mail from the other side of the world would get here by now.  I'd like a PM with proof my card was sent.  If you can't provide proof and my card does not show up I'll be forced to give you red trust.  I'd ask others who have paid and seen nothing in return to do the same.

I ordered a sweater from South Africa once, and it was shipped in mid-Dec, and I received it in USA in early February I think. I just came across this thread cause I was interested in maybe ordering a card, so hopefully it is legit...

@jwinterm. I reckon many of the oldtime bagholders have already dumped and begun doing something else with their lives. americanpegasus has sold, became an Uber driver and declared herself to be in debt. She might only be doing it to avoid the IRS hehehehe.

Sure, I didn't say everyone was still active here, just that this thread is its entirety mostly composed of.

There a many more privacy coins in the market, I think the total number of active projects is around 20 but Ryocurrency is my favorite due to the community and eases to communicate with the team and devs.
In their upcoming fork (in few days) they are going to do some major updates to make RYO more private and secure and which will also increase its future potential and value. I think RYO is the only project besides BTC which is truly focused on Privacy and decentralization.

SHILL ALERT

Lol RYO so desperate and trash they come shill in Wownero thread  Cheesy
