OK, so no draft this sunday? I'll try to work on my bro when I see him Sunday. Maybe tell him I'll give him 2 xmr if he uses one to sign up for Monero FF.

BlackBytes received.

One question: if thereīs no miners, who earns the transaction fee?

Thatīs a cool project. The more I read the more I like it. I see the marketcap going x5 within this year. The only thing I donīt get is why list prices in Gigas instead of Megas. Newbies seeing 400USD a coin can perceive it as expensive. 0.4 a coin is easier to promotion.

Is there some way to address it? What thinks Tony about this question?

Tx fees are split:
Quote
The fees are collected partially by those who are first to reference your transaction as parent and partially by witnesses.  The former incentivizes referencing the most recent transactions as parents, which results in the DAG growing in one direction only, like the trunk of a tree, and being as narrow as network latency permits.  If new transactions are rare enough, such that all nodes have enough time to sync before a new transaction appears, the DAG will look almost like a chain, with only occasional forks and quick merges.
I think 50/50

re: MB v. GB, it's been discussed ad nauseum in this thread, and I doubt it will change on exchanges. You can set it to show as whatever you want in your wallet tho.
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fantasy Football League 2017 on: August 09, 2017, 04:25:37 PM
I can do either Sunday.

Also, failed to convince anyone else to join :/

OMG it peaked to 16000+ Sats!

Fucking finally. Thanks bittrex!

I don't know how Bittrex managed to do this, but before this skyrocketing, I had a series of open orders to sell Myriad at prices 200-1300 sats, and the orders were not executed, they just disappeared. The balances now as like as I have never set these orders. It looks like Bittrex just playing with itself to increase volume. Otherwise the orders must have been executed, not disappeared.

I think the way their system works they basically had to open a whole new market with empty books and clear the old ones. The "skyrocketing" was on extremely low volume, so it's not like you missed out on much.

Alright so I'm assuming everyone is in (on mobile; haven't logged back on ESPN). I can set up the draft date to start this upcoming Sunday in the late afternoon, maybe around 5ish? Days that work for me are limited, so if this weekend works for you guys, let's do it then.

I wasnt able to get anyone else to join, but since four technically works I guess we'll be fine. I might make one last post on Reddit or something, but thinking I might avoid it because I don't want to be the spammy guy. Not to mention 4 xmr is like $200, so it's a reasonably big pot up for grabs.

So let me know if this Sunday at 5 PM (EST) works for you guys... I can even do 6-8 PM, but anything starting past that is getting a bit late for me.

Sunday afternoon should be good for me. I'll still try to get my bro to join...
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-04-23: update to 0.9.12.0] on: August 05, 2017, 11:01:15 PM
I've mentioned this on Slack/IRC and a few people seemed to like the idea, so I figured I should also mention it here so it can be discussed.

I believe Aeon should consider changing its ticker from AEON to XAE to conform to the ISO 4217 standard for currencies, much like XMR (Monero) and XBT (Bitcoin, on some exchanges like Kraken).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217#X_currencies

Please voice your opinion on whether you think this is a good idea or not, as it is better to agree upon this early on when its easier to change this (as there are less exchanges to make the change on).

I don't think it's a bad idea (though I wasn't a fan really when monero did it), but apparently bittrex is really shitty about changing tickers now. Myriad changed ticker from MYR to XMY, and apparently even after someone paid them 2 BTC or so a couple months ago they still haven't changed it. So for similar low volume coin I'd expect to have to pay and still maybe be unresponsive.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fantasy Football League 2017 on: August 03, 2017, 08:54:34 PM
I posted some threads on Reddit a week ago or so, and mention it in IRC occasionally. Maybe time to start pinging people specifically if you know anyone who might want to play.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 02, 2017, 07:52:34 PM
I know this is the Monero thread, but i have a very small amount of money, do you think i should invest in XMR or ETH?

Just buy Powerball tickets.

OK, I got headless up and running, couple questions.

1. byteball.sqlite is now 2.5 GB, how big is db in sqlite format?

2. RPC call for main chain index returns 348670, where do I compare this to see if I'm fully synced? It's not obvious how/where to check on explorer.byteball.org.

Bump. I'm up to almost 7 GB byteball.sqlite file now (and almost 4 GB log.txt), and main chain index of 821618.

Bumpity bump bump, or is this thread only for asking stupidly obvious questions about air drop that are clearly answered in OP?

Confirming receipt of Hueristic's 1 XMR buy-in. I'll send mine later tonight and post when I do. Weekends are usually good for me, or most days between 6-10pm PT.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone who has signed up to play, please send 1 xmr to the pool wallet and notify us here in this thread by giving us your tx hash. If your confused how to send and verify your payment with everyone else, please check my example (and my actual transaction) in the OP. We need to get everyone paid up and squared away before the season starts.

Thanks.

Edit: speaking of which we need to decide on an official draft date/time

I would suggest sign up payment deadline first day of pre-season?

Will send after I close my latest margin. Smiley I just can't help playing the market. Cheesy

AFA Draft date time I would say after pre season and a week night when it's not 4am for anyone. We can all pm you our UTC and what time we want and you can suggest a time that will be close to everyone hopefully. Around 2am UTC is my choice.

ALSO: In the op there is a space in the address so anyone trying to follow your directions will get a parse error without removing the space so if you put it there intentionally then add a step to remove the space character.

You can fix the space in the address error by putting it in code tags.

OK, Guys I'm finally back to double digits! What are the odds I can get to triple digits again before the next spike? Anyone wanna lay some odds? I think it is mighty slim! Cheesy

It's different because the dev fund was generated from mining and donations, and everyone had a fair chance to acquire coins by mining or buying during that time. Is that really hard to comprehend? Also dev fund is significantly less than 10% of total supply, I think more like 2%.

1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-04-23: update to 0.9.12.0] on: July 26, 2017, 04:06:49 PM
"A straight clone" it's called a fork mate.  Grin
And yes as you said, they are implementing new things that are not planned in XMR and who will improve privacy. What about AEON right now ?  Huh
You called a piece of shit a coin with 250k dollars marketcap, two months old with 4 active core devs (more than 90% of the coins), I wonder which one of us will look dumber in 3 months. I leave you there, sad to see crypto community is so full of hatred like always. Good luck with your investment too either way

There's no novel features now or in development as far as I could tell from asking in the thread and looking at the website. The things they claim to be implementing, multisig and subaddresses, are features far along in development from monero, and if I had to be I would bet sumo people are not working on an independent implementation.

The reason it's garbage/shit/scam/whatever in my opinion is the 10% premine. You can't have a currency that enough people in the real world (read: not crypto "investors") are going to buy into and use for transacting where one party has scooped 10% of all money that will ever exist right off the top from the get go. Even Bitcoin suffered from this for a long time and Satoshi mined his coins over years fairly, but it still took a decade of his stash being static that most people begin to assume they will never move. Huge premine = non starter for me, especially for a clone/fork with zero new features and zero public plans to even implement new features.

Aeon is moving very slowly, but it actually already has at least one actual technical feature that differentiates itself from monero - pruning mode, two if you count modified PoW. And more importantly it has a fair launch with a decent size community of supporters and miners.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-04-23: update to 0.9.12.0] on: July 26, 2017, 02:47:01 PM
You should stop acting so aggressive and look deeply into things before making false statement. Sumokoin has emitted a great GUI wallet and has a nice roadmap for August, if you think scammers would work so hard on a project this is sad for you. Make your research, check the Telegram and talk with the devs if you are not believing me, but this is far from being a scam. SUmokoin is planning to implement many new things neither Monero or AEON have, for exemple sub-adresses in few weeks..

But well, it is easier to scream "scam" each time a new project appears to be better than the one you invested in. Such an immature attitude for someone who is rated 5 star on Bitcointalk, this is not 4Chan here. Make research before lying..

I'm not lying, it's a straight clone, and their plans to implement features are just features that are nearing completion in Monero. I didn't call it a scam, I said it was a piece of shit. Good luck with your "investment".
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-04-23: update to 0.9.12.0] on: July 26, 2017, 02:25:28 PM
Hey guys !

Have you checked SUMOKOIN ? it is a new XMR fork and it looks promising too like AEON  Grin
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1905086.0

4 core devs and only 300k dollars marketcap, it may be a good coin to invest in to hedge your portfolio, I own both AEON and SUMO btw
Devs are planning really great things on Sumokoin roadmap, give it a look

Hope both coins will show good things in the future

SUMO is a straight Monero clone with 10% premine. It's a piece of shit and I hope you get burned for spamming it.
