Sounds good, merely want to warn people about potential (actual) ponzi schemes and scams that will harm them in the medium/long-run such as these cryptocurrency fads... I would be very interested in your service to allow me to do so!
Good plan. Warn them about this user "MysteryBanshee" that is constantly trying to do loan scams on IRC.

WHAT?
No horse mask while in the bank?
The jail time would have been too long. He has to work hard to make sure the Ellet has a longer time-to-market then those BFL things. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

I may even disappear from the community all-together.

I'm posting the other thread in a minute. Need to clear some details with investors.
How long could a Matthew minute be for the rest of the world? Let's try: Bitcoin Magazine: "weeks" -> "months" Ellet: "next week" -> "not anytime soon" So are are there any mathematicians here that can compute this?

Well, I am not some Bruce fan, but he at least has made something to watch. Of course, it was not journalism, only entertainment. What do we have nowadays? Matthew started bittalk.tv, but has lost interest in doing this in the meantime. Or maybe he is only a few months late... So nothing else.

As much as I would want this, I don't think Bitcoin is ready yet. Look at how much faster the blockchain is growing with a popular service such as SatoshiDice, which only caters towards Bitcoin users. Now imagine a giant such as MegaUpload, which caters to a much much wider audience, starts using Bitcoin. The blockchain growth would be out of control. Coming up with and implementing features to keep the blockchain growth in check should be top priority right now in my opinion.
Sure ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Folks where up and downloading gigabytes per DAY using MegaUpload - I am pretty sure they can handle something as laughable tiny as the blockchain. Nice try, tho I don't think he was referring to megaupload themselves handling the blockchain, but everyone else who needs the blockchain dealing with it. It seems that the rapidly increasing blockchain size is something of a major hurdle atm. I was talking about the actual users. Who do you think was downloading all those HD movies of several GBs on MegaUpload? The blockchain is smaller than one of those HD movies - dont even look at those 20GB+ BR rips. And there are tons of web sites out there, where people watch movies in realtime, streaming it. And you really thing someone cares about a few GB? So yes the blockchain probably is too large for the 90s - welcome to more than a decade later ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) There has been a lot of discussion on the topic that I think you need to catch up on. Do a couple searches on the forum. So if someone repeats FUD long enough it will magically turn true? The blockchain size is only a hypothetical issue. Even my cellphone could handle a full client for the next few years. Back to subject, I hope the Kim realizes that when he had done MegaUpload using Bitcoins, the FBI would had a hard time freezing those.

Sometimes I think Vandroiy should add "Spanish Inquisition 200 years late" or something to his avatar. He does not understand it, and therefor it must be the work of the devil and has to be exorcised. Like someone from the dark ages watching a modern airplane.

I couldn't possibly see how it worked. I think looked and realized it wasn't actually a currency, it was more of a commodity,
Bitcoin is a commodity that is perfectly suited for use as money. It is thus a commodity and a currency, to the extent it is used as such. The best monies, historically, have been commodities also (gold, etc). They are not mutually exclusive traits. I dont expect bitcoin to even survive 6 months, at least not if you expect the coins to be worth anything or to be traded in any substantial amounts.
How much do you want to bet? I will bet you $2,000 that Bitcoins will be worth more than $5 in six months. Put up or shut up. Erik, this guy has no $2000. He is constantly asking for loans on IRC. His nick there is "mysterybanshee". His OTC. IIRC he banned lately. But at least he has a funny, albeit dated, webpage. So why should we case, if this guy thinks that bitcoin will fail, and only because he got no loan?

Well, sorry for being rude to a scammer. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I really wish we could all be nice to each other, but some people just prefer the money. It's a good question though, what are we gaining? Hopefully, the respect of people that we put our time and name and nerves on the line to get this place to work better. I don't expect everyone to like this before the scheme runs with the remaining funds. But hopefully, this will look otherwise afterward. If not, yes, then I've been a total idiot for trying to help people just to get insults for it. Time will tell I guess. The day it's over all you have to do is use one of your other sock puppet accounts. It's coming, you better be ready. Hopefully not too soon... ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) A lot of us really enjoy making some steady nice profits. What I want to know is, what is motivating these super-aggressive naysayers? What do they stand to gain by scaring people away from pirate?
Actually I think the others are gaining from those naysayers. Without them pirate could at least haft the rate, and still everyone would lend him. So maybe this Vandroiy is heavily invested with pirate and just fears that the interest rate would go down.

Can someone in San Jose please quickly visit the PayPal HQ and hand out a spare Bitcoin Magazin to someone random there. Take a few pictures about this "event". Then post them here adding this text: "fuck you - paypal loves bitcoins" ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Cool new service. Like the name, cute. Similar to bit-pay? No, just pronounce it. I can remember a few weeks ago, everyone was saying that such a service will be needed for the developing countries. I guess at the moment you don't have SMS local numbers in different countries. Do you indent to add those once your service will be heavily used?

The problem with BTC is that isn't the easiest thing to hand write.
After years of using a keyboard I noticed that everything isn't the easiest thing to hand write. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Have you guys forgotten about this?: http://www.ecogex.com/bitcoin/Building a new brand identity requires starting from the ground up, and I think getting rid of the BTC is the first thing to do. (No offense to theymos, who created the nice little forum button for that symbol.) I think the alternate 'Ƀ' is far more desirable because it is less obvious and less likely to confuse with (for instance) the thai baht, and others. Ƀ is also extremely very ugly compared to BTC. ฿ and BTC looks similar? I absolutely don't think so. So where do we have to pay to stop the nonsense and keep the old one?

What's the differance between Litecoin and testnet Bitcoins?
Testnet Bitcoins have more value. LOL
Someone should open an exchange for testnet Bitcoins!

Would it be possible for the 'cheater' (for lack of a better term) to choose which transaction got confirmed after the result of satoshidice was shown? Yes. Normally Satoshi Dice sends back its results a few seconds after you placed your bet. If it was a loss just try to get your double-spent transaction confirmed before your bet becomes confirmed. Just use no tx fee on the bet, and some huge fee when you double spend the coins to yourself. To reinforce this scheme, tell the miners they can make hundreds of BTC from this - I am sure some will prefer your huge fee txs over the free once ;-)
