241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH back to the price ~ $ 300 on: March 29, 2018, 07:12:39 PM
ETH is falling very strong compared to its $ 12xx early this year, will you buy it now?
Yes. Now is the best time to buy Ethereum. The price is very low and you can get a good profit when the price comes back. I think it will happen in the near future. I have friends who have earned good money on Ethereum price jumps in 2018.

What makes you think that this is going to happen in the near future? So far there has been a big FUD frenzy for the last 3 months, all major social media have pretty much banned crypto related advertisements, and the world is losing faith. What part of that indicates it's going to end soon?
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Still a Good investment? on: March 29, 2018, 07:11:26 PM
In some way regulations are good for the long term future of Bitcoin, but hodlers don't like hearing regulation and Bitcoin in the same sentence, as regulatory news is almost always associated with a crash in value. Right now, bitcoin is on a massive down trend, losing 50% of its value in just a couple of months, it might even go back below $3,000 by the end of the year if there isn't significant improvements in the crypto-climate. So unless the lightning network really is adopted on a mass scale, don't expect to see an ATH any time soon.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH back to the price ~ $ 300 on: March 29, 2018, 07:07:20 PM
It honestly seems like it's going that way, I suspect Bitcoin will fall under $6,000 most likely, and ETH will probably drop sub $300 unfortunately. There is a LOT of negative news regarding crypto lately, and it's likely that this storm will continue as they fall further and further into the red. We're just going to have to man up, and wait it out.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian, Chinese, Korean Associations to Sue Internet Giants Over Banned Crypto on: March 29, 2018, 06:58:41 PM
A blanket ban on all ICOs is definitely overly harsh by Facebook/Twitter etc, but it's definitely approaching the right direction. I think they should simply allow ICOs if they meet certain criteria, e.g. be fully licensed, registered business with non-anonymous owners etc. The number of people being scammed by fake ICOs is staggering, but banning them as a whole will slow the pace of innovation, not cool. #deletefacebook
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KYC: Bitstamp wants to know how much I'm making on: March 28, 2018, 07:27:51 PM
Are they asking about your salary, or how much you are earning from Bitstamp alone? Might just be a marketing email so they can target certain products to you later on. Doesn't seem like necessarily a big deal.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The CEO of Twitter and Square believes that Bitcoin will replace fiat on: March 28, 2018, 07:24:40 PM
Please post a link to this, I really don't think Jack Dorsey said anything like that. Surely as a CEO he knows there will ALWAYS be competition, even in the case of currencies, there is competition from competing systems. Even if Bitcoin is adopted worldwide, it won't be without competition.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When Will Ethereum reach 1200 again? on: March 28, 2018, 07:19:18 PM
The success of the projects created on the basis of the Etherium platform is of great importance for the course of the Ether coin. So, the growth of its value in late 2017 was significantly influenced by the appearance of the popular game Cryptokitties.
It is impossible to give an accurate estimate of the value of the crypto currency, the Etherium, because its real technological potential is unknown. The platform is continuously evolving, the developers are setting new and urgent tasks, which contributes to the preservation of the interest of the partners of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. At the same time, as practice showed, the coin rate is heavily dependent on unexpected side events, for example, news about incidents in the life of Vitalik Buterin and other founders of the project.

I really don't think that Ethereum has the potential that everybody claims it has... Yes it was the first crypto offer true smart-contract functionality, yes it has probably the second biggest userbase. But it also has horrendous scaling issues, and there are very few useful apps based on ethereum contracts. Maybe Ethereum needs to die so its successor can take its place.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRANSLATION CAMPAIGN!!! on: March 28, 2018, 07:14:39 PM
It is very hard to find a translation campaign even if you have a portfolio  Cry

Not if you're translating a language that's in demand. Obviously if you're translating the most abstract language, that nearly nobody speaks, e.g. Swahili or something that's only 2nd language status, e.g. Dutch. Then there is pretty much no need to pay for such a small audience base.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoins be antiques on: March 27, 2018, 08:20:10 PM
That's assuming that bitcoin even manages to survive the almost century it would take to reach maximum supply. I really don't think we will be using bitcoin as a national currency then, and computing technology would have processed to such a degree that the encryption could be cracked by the most basic of computers.
250  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Tracking down stolen Bitcoins on: March 27, 2018, 08:16:16 PM
It's possible to track down stolen bitcoins by following the input/output trail, but they will only help if they end up depositing to a known address where you could potentially gather their KYC information. If they end up trading for something such as monero, then the trail will probably be irreversibly broken.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ADA VS IOTA 2018 on: March 27, 2018, 08:09:57 PM
ADA and IOTA both have huge potential, but 2018 is not turning out to be a good year for crypto in general, so I really doubt that they will see significant improvements unless the teams manage to accomplish the almost impossible. They both have scaling in mind, but that's not much of an issue when the uptake has stagnated or even dropped, I mean look at Bitcoin fees.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think the markets are being manipulated right now? on: March 27, 2018, 08:08:29 PM
I don't think market manipulation really happens with regards to bitcoin, the market volume is so huge that it would take a superwhale to really manipulate it. The only thing that could be happening is if there is a mass sell-off from one of these whales, slowly dumping their BTC onto the market every day, leading to a sustained dip that we see now.
253  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: March 27, 2018, 08:00:19 PM
Don't get me wrong guys and gals. The fact that those ICO's I participated in at Q1 didn't go x2/x10/x100 or whatever, doesn't mean I don't believe in them. It simply will take a long time before they turn profitable.

I did however decide to stop with ICO's, and wait until these reach exchanges....better to judge since a lot more time has passed (and more is done for the project).

The ICO's I am disappointed in the most are Beetoken, Dether, Lala and HOQU. All four still have potential, but wow...did they tank after getting on exchanges Smiley

Why would you think that these had potential, other than Dether most of these look completely useless.

ICOs aren't booming like they used to, it isn't 2017 anymore unfortunately, crypto is really going down hill.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many different cryptos do you have? on: March 26, 2018, 08:47:49 PM
I currently hold about 5 coins with larger amount and many more coins (tokens) with very small amount invested. Difficult to follow all the stories and development of too many coins.

Why do you bother holding tokens with tiny amounts invested? Are you expecting them to x100, or x1000? Or are they just the rewards from some bounties that you participated in? I'd find it a real headache to keep track of them.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OFFICIAL: COINBASE/GDAX to list ERC20 tokens soon on: March 26, 2018, 08:47:03 PM
This is definitely big news, and there's going to be a huge spike in the value of promising ERC-20 tokens once they're listed on coinbase.

I guess it's time for me to start doing my research in anticipation!
256  Other / Politics & Society / Re: communist and human rights on: March 26, 2018, 08:44:34 PM
The funny thing is, human rights vary between country, for example in one country freedom is speech is an absolute necessity, whereas in other countries (particularly communist ones), it is a privilege. I would say, when a democratic country looks at a communist one, they would tend to feel that they have fewer rights. Slaves have less rights than free men.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many different cryptos do you have? on: March 26, 2018, 08:41:28 PM
I've currently got around 10 different coins in a variety of wallets, my major holdings are in NEO, EOS, XLM and unfortunately, even XRP.

I've also got some bags I was left holding after I joined a pump channel, my mistake, and I've learned my lesson. It's probably best to diversify and have as many high potential coins as possible, that way the risk of one completely collapsing is negated by the average spread.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction fees are a tax on BTC on: March 26, 2018, 08:39:53 PM
I wouldn't say they're a tax, as a tax is money collected by the government to pay for public services. I think that the bitcoin fee is exactly that, a fee that is paid to those that provide work (the miners), hence why the fee is directly related to the amount of work. You wouldn't expect a carrier pigeon to carry a message with an empty stomach now would you?
259  Economy / Securities / Re: Do you think all ICO are securities ? on: March 25, 2018, 07:25:52 PM
The very definition of a security means that you own a stake in the company, whereas ICO tokens don't allow you a stake in the company behind the ICO.

They're not shares, they're not securities, bonds or any of the like, they're simply tokens, they're in a new class of investment.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is Bitcoin a pyramid scheme? on: March 25, 2018, 07:21:36 PM
Bitcoin cannot possibly be a pyramid scheme because old investors are not paid by new investors, there will never come a point when the growth rate cannot be sustained and the system collapses.

There is nothing remotely similar for the two systems.
