241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lapps are better than Dapps on: December 21, 2019, 03:05:07 AM
Lapps or Lightning Apps have came into inception ever since Bitcoin's Lightning Network was launched. They serve their purpose well in providing a trustless experience to the end user with instant speeds and ridiculously low fees. On the other hand, dApps or Decentralized Applications have been longer than Lapps but they're limited to their underlying Blockchain network's capacity. The most popular implementation of dApps have been living on the Ethereum blockchain. The world's second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap was praised to be "The World Computer", but its limitations in scalability greatly defeats the purpose.

Which is why, I believe that Lapps are better than Dapps since they're able to provide a seamless experience to the end user without long wait times, or expensive fees. Of course, dApps are more complex programs that are capable of providing greater functionalities than Lapps. But, most people prefer convenience on top of security/censorship-resistance. Which is why, Lapps could be the next big thing in the crypto industry.

What do you think? Huh

hmm, this is interesting... Lapps, never heard of these before now :p this scene moves so fast its impossible to follow it all haha
it makes sense tho, if ETH's major congestion is mainly caused by Dapps doing on chain tx's, then lapps wouldn't suffer the same fate? i wonder
ETH should build a second layer for dapps, their own lighting network even :O
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Stake Nervos CKBytes | CKB DAO Tutorial on: December 21, 2019, 02:06:49 AM

243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can any one check my ERC20 token ' token name MV Express Coin Symbol MEC on: December 20, 2019, 07:43:03 PM
My token contract any one can check this contract is good or not is this token have typing code mistake or loss code mistake ' I need to know more information  On this coin how can I trade or Exchange this token which wallets you recommend to me ' I don't have token information given page this coin is newly released coin .. at this time coin price is $0.00000000 how can I make this coin is a valuable coin
Token contract: 0x4D24d8D75a8ec4a2d4BF2b2aA7F9A3Cf27ef5Fcf

Token Contract link https://etherscan.io/address/0x4d24d8d75a8ec4a2d4bf2b2aa7f9a3cf27ef5fcf

first off, please realize it takes 5 minutes to create a token on ETH network, so if someone sold you something, that dosent make it worth anything Tongue
you should probably actually just start at Ethereum.org and start with the docs there actually Smiley
for a wallet i recommend personally metamask, desktop wallets arent really a thing with ETH as they are pretty buggy and the chain is massive lol
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Staking WAR has begun, who is wining it? on: December 20, 2019, 06:54:16 PM
Full article: www.forrestvisions.com/blog/the-staking-battle-has-begunfind-how-who-will-win-it

The staking war for the most prominent facilitator is underway. Coinbase and Binance are taking blows at each other to become the in house staking platform, who do you think is winning?

Are you currently using a staking platform or facilitating your own?

this, is an interesting topic, on one hand you have Coinbase, a Western, North American "digital bank"
but on the other hand you have "we chinese, we dont care" Binance, they both have their uses, but me personally?
id rather use neither, but id prob choose Coinbase to stake if i HAD too, as i just dont know what will happen if the Chinese Gov one day says "no using our crypto services for non chinese"
i fear binance could stop serving the west almost overnight if that happens : /
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The best crypto projects created in 2019? on: December 20, 2019, 06:43:39 PM
We all know the market is bleeding at the moment and many has lost illusion about this market. We are in bear market for almost two years and what we can expect in the near future?

Answer: The future will be great and crypto is here to stay despite what people believe!

My fundamental question about this post.

What are the projects that have been created in 2019 that you believe has the tremendous potential to make on the top? Share your projects about DeFi, NFT tokens or have a real product we can use right now.

I will add them on this thread.

Best regards,

CREATED? oh man, its hard to say, 2019 was a shitstorm of crapcoins imo Tongue
there ARE many projects coming to FRUITION tho in 2019-2020, NEAR protocal, SIGMA, so many interesting things happening
i cant think of much LAUNCHED in 2019 that was worth much personally :/   rough year for shittokening Tongue
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PlusToken affecting the whole Crypto Market including Bitcoin and Ethereum on: December 19, 2019, 11:26:46 PM
Plus Token was a venture stage in the appearance of an entangled cryptocurrency Ponzi conspire. System managers ended the service in June 2019. Fraudsters dropped the program by expelling more than $3 trillion in Cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, and EOS) and leaving the “sorry we’ve fled” content. This has finished in a worldwide quest for Plus Token venture directors and engineers.

In Korea and China, PlusToken turned out to be famous, particularly among financial specialists curious about cryptocurrency. Besides Token was a high return speculation plot that gave immense “venture” motivating forces in China and Korea to clueless exploited people.

Source: TheCoinRepublic

im surprised they got away with that, tho maybe i shouldn't , it seems our current userbase has moved into the noob category again
this happened during the pump of 2017-2018 there, way too many newbs that just wanted to invest in SOMETHING.
This should never have gotten as big as it did Sad     ugh, idk if crypto will ever go mainstream, or if we will just be free money for scammers for the next 30 years : /
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promoting cryptocurrency through altcoin on: December 19, 2019, 04:56:44 PM
When you hear of cryptocurrency what mostly comes in the mind of people is Bitcoin and that's people that are not all to familiar with cryptocurrency.
In as much as Bitcoin controls a high level of cryptocurrency, altcoins are indispensable.

To my little knowledge on cryptocurrency there are altcoins for a lot of uses, some for medical use, some for advertising, some for gaming and so on. With people having interest in this areas to spread cryptocurrency we can take advantage of this opportunity it doesn't have to be all about Bitcoin all the time.
Though the problem with altcoins is the turn out of the coin after wards and the responsiveness of the owners. But if investors or crypto addicts can engage more in altcoins this will boost altcoins and get more organisers active and spread cryptocurrency more

i dont agree man, but i could see how the newer users in this scene WOULD agree, as you do.
My view is 90% of those alts your talking about were scams to begin with, most of them are ONLY even still running for fear of being sued for scamming
so they have to atleast give a simbiance of "trying" .   They dont even need to exist, people like you need to realize BTC itself could do all this, smart contracts, all of it.
but people with technical skills are too busy trying to make the next Bitcoin, or just anything to get in the ground level of money making cryptocurrency.  they care of only that sadly
they should have just leant their skills to helping BTC, but they wouldnt get rich that way would they? these people are nocoiners, they got in too late, own maybe 5 btc lol
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH dump even more due to PlusToken? on: December 19, 2019, 03:10:52 PM
A huge number of ether (ETH) tokens have just moved from a wallet associated with the PlusToken Ponzi scheme. More than $105,099,000 worth of the native crypto asset of the Ethereum network moved between the wallet and an unknown one earlier today.

The Twitter account Whale Alert (@whale_alert) highlighted the huge transfer this morning. The total number of Ether moved was a massive 789,525 ETH.

Source link here

This is something that we feared the most, unless you are a buyer waiting for your buy order to be filled.

Whale Alert keeps monitoring the wallet that are being used by PlusToken, and it's now being moved to an unknown wallet.

I remember that time when I was in Singapore, one weird looking guy approached me and introduced me to PlusToken. As what I have seen in their compensation plan, I immediately moved away and said "No, I'll pass!". Ponzis are not for me.

I just feel sorry for those who are being victimized by PlusToken.

when will people learn? Sad  i know some people would say if you get scammed you deserve it in crypto, but it hurts us all really Sad as it hurts mass adoption
this isnt the first ICO to have the power tho, EOS had way more ETH, and have been laughing at people buying their bags ever since
crypto is such a shitshow now, i cant recommend anyone to invest in anything, even BTC anymore Sad  too scammy and manipulated now crypto is  : /
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KEEPING A DEAD COIN’S BLOCKCHAIN ALIVE: IS IT POSSIBLE? on: December 19, 2019, 02:44:25 PM
Hi,

As I have a few free VPS servers available and I like researching the crypto industry, I am looking into several cryptocoins that have now been totally delisted from all exchanges.

These coins still have some nodes up and running (some of which might be the devs own nodes possibly).

I would like to keep the blockchain going, just in case there is a community takeover of the project like it has happened in a few cases.

Before launching these nodes, I make sure that in the conf files I have the addnodes= lines pointing to my own nodes as well as those that are still online that might belong to the devs.

However, blockchain syncing for my nodes stops at a specific block (the same block across all the nodes) and does not get past this hurdle.

I can see the peers still being connected at this point, but syncing stops for all of the nodes at exactly the same block and point in time.

I have tried deleting peers.dat, deleting all files except wallet.dat and the .conf with the addnodes, reindexing… all to no avail.

Now I am quite puzzled…. why would syncing stop as if “a central reference server” was missing if the blockchain is supposed to be fully decentralized?

Also, if I am correct in thinking that some of the few nodes that are not owned by me belong to the devs, why would they intentionally leave nodes running on a dead coin?

I would be grateful if I could have the comments from some blockchain experts regarding this issue.

Many thanks!

you can of course keep the chain alive, tho you might need to make sure YOUR the seed, (or you recode a hard seed with your own)
you need to read how  PoW chain works man, anyone with the hash can move it, thats WHY its "decentralized" Tongue
your problem is because they hardcoded a seednode, the team is a fuck they shouldnt do that except off the bat sometimes to help the network
as you can see tho it causes trouble long term when they take down the network seed
get synced (or pick a checkpoint)
code your own seed
fork into it
chain is yours Wink
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Highly Anticipated Ethereum Upgrade Could Be Delayed for Years on: December 19, 2019, 04:02:03 AM
Ethereum's pivotal redesign, Eth 2.0, is likely still three to five years from execution.

Rather than hurrying into a general redesign, engineers for the open-source blockchain stage are as of now chipping away at a suite of present moment fixes to improve the wellbeing and sturdiness of the system, as indicated by another blog entry at Ethereum.org

What do you guys have to say about this? Many are waiting for this upgrade before bitcoin halving, seems its never going to happen

wait, whaaa? i mean, i know alot of my buddies always joked "it will NEVER happen" but geez, 3-5 years? i really thought PoS would be in 2020
i guess i shouldnt be surprised, how long will it take them just to get their new high school teacher CEO up to speed, prob 2 years there alone : /
oh well, more time to accumulate i guess, as i still think it will be a good long term project, just maybe a bit longer till new ATH then originally thought...lol
251  Other / Meta / Re: Why Anouncements are not attractive? on: December 19, 2019, 03:35:53 AM
Hello.
I have some simple question.

How to bring people and real crypto enthusiasts to altcoin anouncement thread at bitcointalk , without any bounty or spam shi-t ?
I want bring users and build discussion about our project, but I dont know how.... Roll Eyes
Everytime when I post something new about project any update there is no more reply...

Your project needs interesting reasons for the users here to participate, to separate it from the shit
-Some users will wanna mine, is it PoW?
-Some will hate PoW and wanna stake, is it PoS?
-Some like fancy new techs, is it a privacy coin/token?  does it have real utility or a good use case?
People are used to just garbage being posted, and brush stuff off fast, give people a reason to get involved and they might! Smiley
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is traditional mining dying? on: December 18, 2019, 03:20:14 PM
check the chart, it's scary

https://coin360.com/

no sign of rebirth

Most people on survey choose it was dying, and maybe the trend on how that works towards the latest market. Based on the link you shared here, I foresee more reasons why this was eventually taking out of the lime light. This was due to non profitable gains, and in fact it was costly when it comes to electricity consumption.
It cannot be allowed to apply to the real economy, the world governments are unprecedented unity on it. It is killing the bitcoin world and I hate this

its crazy, look at who is registering the most blockchain patents these last few years too Sad
most of the same groups that said crypto was a scam/bubble.   banks mainly, they register 100's of patents a year for blockchain tech
they are implementing the tech all the while still ostracizing it Sad   BTC mining definitally belongs to big money now : /
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will centralization keep its dominance on the crypto industry forever? on: December 18, 2019, 03:36:31 AM
It's been a decade since crypto's inception, yet the whole industry is still dominated by big players in the same. Most services are centralized, which often serve as the gateway between the real world and the digital one. People get into Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies through centralized exchanges these days. While decentralized solutions still exist, they're not comparable as their centralized counterparts in terms of performance and user experience.

Given that it's still 2019 and centralized exchanges are controlling crypto trades worldwide, it seems likely that the trend will continue for many years to come. Unless decentralized services improve over time, the entire crypto industry will be centralized as we know it. I'd say that 90% of the crypto industry is centralized, while the rest is decentralized. If people don't care about decentralization at all, then this will be the norm forever.

Which is why, I'm starting to wonder if centralization will keep its dominance on the crypto industry forever? What are your thoughts? Huh

i fear it will only get worse, as more and more big players get involved.  Sadly crypto was always really susceptible to whales, but its gotten bad last 2 years imo
Sometimes i think its necessary for security, Coinbase is a pretty decent and considered secure "digital bank" , but you still dont control your keys there Sad
i think a few projects ARE working on more decentralized options, 2020 should be really interesting for sure! SOMETHING needs to happen, hacks are getting worse year by year Sad
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the industry holds for women? on: December 18, 2019, 02:47:12 AM
I think the question of where Crypto or Finance industry overall is going is no hard thing to say, as it’s pretty high. But what does the future look like for the women? I found very interesting and vital article https://www.hercampus.com/author/what-does-future-look-women-finance, it really deserves a lot of attention and should be discussed.

oh man i was just talking to the wife about this the other night, good to know im not the only one pondering this topic lately Cheesy
i feel like women were on a roll 5 years ago, but now are slipping backwards professionally, tho in crypto its probably to be expected as there is statistically less women into tech then men
i hope to see this industry involve women more as time goes on, i dont see any reason why women shouldnt have equal ground in this emerging industry.
i know my wife finds everything too technical, which sux Tongue
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoin regulations and their future implications on: December 18, 2019, 02:04:05 AM
Governments (especially the US) have recently announced that they will be regulating stablecoins within the mainstream world. This has been a result of Facebook's Libra stablecoin announcement which has kept many governments worried about digital currencies taking over the existent financial infrastructure. If they start regulating stablecoins, you can expect the growth of the crypto industry to start slowing down at an unprecedented rate. These digital assets have been a safe-haven for many investors worldwide looking to protect their capital in crypto's volatile prices across the market.

Considering that the US is a country with strict regulations against crypto and Blockchain technology, they might become a headache for mainstream businesses and companies looking to provide stablecoin solutions for US customers. While crypto is in fact decentralized, it still depends on the government's approval to succeed within the mainstream world. Nobody would use something that is declared "illegal" despite being possible to use it regardless of imposed regulations from worldwide governments.

Do you think regulating stablecoins is a good idea? What are the future implications of stablecoin regulation? Huh

Regulating stablecoins is, imo, definitely a good idea, it was nothing short of retarded how many are popping up this last year
These "teams" have no idea how hard it is to actually run a stableoin, let alone whether or not their use case even NEEDS one, they are just following hype Sad
I fear people really ARE losing money to these.  Cases like this remind me regulation CAN be good, imagine how Libra would have went :O
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is THREEFOLD NETWORK the future of decentralized cloud computing? on: December 17, 2019, 05:10:23 PM
Hey Guys, I'm super curious to know what you guys think of threefold.io , they're basically the biggest decentralized grid of self-managing internet,

I'm super excited to see what's coming next for this project, they've previously raised $5M privately.

If you're a developer of a retail investor, I would suggest to join their chat and speak to their team: https://t.me/threefoldnetwork

Check out their technical documentation and let us know on this thread what you think of THREEFOLD
[/size]

hmm, i haven't heard of this one before, the website looks really interesting...
sadly at the end of the day its just another nigerian prince scam? bunch of promises and asking for money upfront Sad
they dont seem to have actually DONE any work that can be SEEN? lol atleast with services like Golem theres a github where one can judge for themselves the effort put in
look at the size of this team too Cheesy and theres no code to show Cheesy   ok then!  Roll Eyes

There is code to show, it’s all open source on https://github.com/threefoldtech . Please have a look, there is an installation guide as well. Their websites are running on the technology. A lot of info can be found on the website, and the team is substantial: https://www.threefold.io/public/#/team

oh, nice, i missed that, excellent, thx for links!  looks like there IS actually quite a bit of work here, sweeet Smiley
i guess the only question now is can they compete with the big bois ? the big cloud hosters like AWS i mean
its a shame they are not promoting it more, i had forgotten about this one already, was weeks ago i took a quick glance at it Tongue
if they have large team ,why are you a random newbie the only one talking about it here?
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [GUIDE] Tips on securing our emails on: December 17, 2019, 04:34:40 PM
Ya using a separate email for crypto stuff is smart, i been in this so long i had to combat alot of spam over the years as i used my main email off the bat
not smart haha. for last 2 years or so, seperate email!
it dosent matter if you think the crypto services your using are "safe", databases get breached and those emails get dumped/sold
happens OFTEN.  this forum itself has been dumped x2 since ive been a member only haha Tongue it happens
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Your CPU can make $10 $20 $30 even $100 per day Mining Verus - Learn How To CPU on: December 17, 2019, 04:01:15 PM
Tested yesterday on my 2600x
9.5MHs
0.88$CA profit
Next ...

imagine being so spoiled you scoff at a 200day ROI : /
these new miners are so entitled now...   lol                           0.88$ a day with 200$total cost per cpu is pretty dece man

Does any one know what the hash rate is for the 2700 and 2700X?

2700x = 18mh/s OC'd with RAM OC
2700 16-17MH/s?
3900x = 27mh/s
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Strange Network Activity behind Litecoin Active Addresses. on: December 17, 2019, 03:39:37 AM
Could be a simple form of FUD spreading, looking at price maybe its working?
could also just be a simple stress test, people testing scripts, or just someone pissing around for something to do.    Testing attack vectors maybe
with LTC its really cheap to do this, so they can.    IMO, if its a FUD thing, its most intriguing, create drama to cause loss of confidence, and drop price? buy up cheap?
interesting!

it actually was really good for about 12 hours
before the FPGAs just went right back to it Tongue        crazy money for 12 hours tho
seems to have normalized now, kinda like those old raven parties hehe
sadly, this coin is pretty shakey, not even listed on a decent exchange, and low liquidity
Could be dece to stake maybe tho!
