241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 25, 2014, 02:34:27 PM
I also asked for a refund a couple of weeks ago and their support just answers that they are "too busy" and this causes delay.

You too with the "too busy: answer? OMG wtf?
Our finance team is too busy to refund your order(s)?
That is totally..... uhmmmm    illegal!
NOW I'm totally puzzled and hope they decide to"find the time". before they say that to the wrong person.
Refunds up to shipping...  If we have the time?
What could  the Customer service and finance teams possibly be so busy doing?  Counting Boden coins?
Deja-Vu again....
Hopefully this is a replay of last time they started this...  I remember this with Jupiter right before shipping started.
uggh   I'm getting disgusted with those actions. It's straight up breech of contract, following their own T&C.

"Too busy" is simply NOT an acceptable answer.   shame.

How long till your gear would have paid for itself?  That is how long your refund might take.  Coincidence?

They are now 'open' again.  All of my FTC was available to me and I pulled it.  I has arrived at it's destination so the withdrawals are working for FTC.

Are there problems with NMC payouts?  I've been mining at a good clip for a week now and I haven't seen a single NMC payout.  Yes, I configured the NMC address.

A problem with the NMC system was discovered a week or so ago, if you read back in this thread wizkid addresses the issue. Basically payments are on hold until he can get the system fixed. For more info read back a bit.

It has been a while since last NMC payments were made.

"Earn interest on BTC, LTC and PPC account balances
We now pay interest on BTC, LTC, PPC, NVC and WDC account balances, they are paid multiple times every day.
"

you have been vercuroxt

Kind of obvious, now - interest was paid to try to encourage people to keep a balance at Vircurex, to prevent this sort of run on the bank.

Vircurex found a very friendly way to thank them, taking half of their money!

You willing to go $50 on the m board, or would you be willing to do it for $60 shipped?
$60 shipped if you are east of the rockies.  $65 for beyond that.
247  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Bitfury M board $60 also Spotswood open frame for Bitfury $80 on: March 24, 2014, 10:53:18 PM
I'll take the sportwood case. Can you tell me how much shipping would cost to Ontario, Canada?

First class is $25
Priority is $32
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just Made a Payment with the New Fees on: March 24, 2014, 10:15:12 PM
Does this sound correct?
Bought something on TigerDirect.com with Bitcoin - $86.88
Was expected to pay a miner fee by Bitcoin QT.   Worked out to $0.05

So I had to pay 5 cents fee on an $87 purchase.

Should we stop saying Bitcoin is free?  I mean ... Smiley

I know - beating a dead horse, but every time I have to pay, I ask myself why I tell people its free.

Nearly free.

Or less then 1/10 of 1%

are both good ways to describe Bitcoin fees.
249  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING ! Vircurex is freezing your BTC, LTC, FTC, TRC. on: March 24, 2014, 01:25:59 AM
"Vircurex is freezing your BTC, LTC, FTC, TRC."

The title of this thread is misleading. Vircurex isn't "freezing" anyone's BTC, LTC, FTC, TRC. They are refusing to honor the IOUs which they issued when someone deposited their BTC, LTC, FTC, TRC.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

I didn't choose that wording.. they did.

Btw.. this update did not appear until after I cleared the browser cookies..

After my initial attempts to withdrawal BTC failed, I bought some FTC. I have since sent 0.234xx BTC which has yet to appear on my account.
https://blockchain.info/address/15hpwsw7V55voV2ZrCvY8MXCVtzcafBdLR

You sent them BTC?  Right now you will not be able to withdraw either the BTC or the FTC from them.

Are the instructions here current or do they need to be updated for the latest Bitcoin version?
251  Other / Archival / Re: closed on: March 24, 2014, 01:06:26 AM
The proposed distribution scheme for left-over funds is stupid. With their approach, the very large accounts and the very small accounts will get full refunds, while everyone in between won't get anything. With confidence unlikely to be restored, it's not just a matter of waiting for those in the middle of the pack. Why on earth not go with the fairest and most obvious approach of distributing remaining funds proportionally?

Note: I have no funds on this website and my statement is that of an outside observer.

Yes, this approach is beyond unfair.  And I stand to benefit from it as I had a small balance.  It should be 100% proportional.  Doing anything highest down is nuts.  Even lowest first would be better.

Allowing trading on frozen funds is also crazy and withdrawals on some currencies even crazier.  Now all of the coins have jilted values depending on if they can be withdrawn or not.
252  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Miners with highest overclock potential? Opinions wanted. on: March 23, 2014, 04:55:50 AM
I am wondering what would be profitable miners or multi-rigs if overclocking is the initial intention.

"October" KNC Jupiters can be over clocked from 550 GHs to 650-675 GHs fairly easily, and will draw about 825 watts. I've seen them for under $4000 on eBay.

One could buy a pile of antminers for that and not overclock them and beat that easily.  $2400 for 720 GH before overclocking.  The power consumption would be higher but you can pay for a lot of power with $1600
253  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Undervolt antminer s1 [1.19W/gh at the wall] on: March 22, 2014, 04:24:35 PM
nice job!

however, I dont see any point to unervolting at this point. maybe by late summer when the the difficulty is as high as the temperatures, but right now getting the most hashes per second is my focus

If you have no more space, no more power and the room is getting too hot, this is helpful.

only if you want to earn 20-30% less from the unit at the benefit of saving a dollar a day on electricity - but if that still looks like a good use of your miner go for it.

I was at my limits of power/heat/noise and I came up with a simple solution. I found a larger space to run my miners that had better cooling capabilities, and I spent $1500 installing 18kW of new circuits and some shelving units. I went from a limit of 9 antminers to operating 14 now, and have an S2 ordered also.

In this game, i dont see why you would willingly reduce your hashrate at this point in time - I might do it once july hits and the difficulty/temperatures play a more significant factor, but right now is the best time to run the machine at it full capability

Some of us, want to invest more in mining. I operate 24 ants and I am on power limit. Only solution to increase my hashing speed is either to replace all ants with 1w/1ghs fresh equipment , OR to underclock the existent ants for better efficiency.

With this method, I can increase my hashing speed from 4.9Th/s to 8.5Th/s and maintain the same power requirements.

Plus your ants will probably last longer.

Does any trusted member have one of these files I could purchase? I was hoping to sport a bitcoin hat at a boat show tomorrow and I don't have time to order one. I digitized my own with the help of a youtube vid, but the guy at the local mall kiosk said I may not be happy with the results.

I could have got my hat to you in time with Priority mail and might have cost you less then what that guy will charge you and you could have paid in BTC.

This image below will do much better then a cut from a youtube video:

257  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VISA & MASTERCARD blocked Russians from accessing their money on: March 21, 2014, 11:30:27 PM
I think Obama should be careful on his moves because this will probably lead to all Russians selling their many billions of dollars.
And something tells me China will follow.

There's not much economic leverage over Russia by the USA because Russia imports nearly nothing from the USA.   However, the rest of Europe is dependent on Russian natural gas, and means to ship natural gas from the USA to Europe in significant quantities are years away.  The USA is war-weary, and can't make a credible military threat.

Surprisingly the USA could actually get enough natgas to Europe if we wanted to and this would cripple Russia pretty badly.  With one year if we started now we could along with others make up for the Russian natgas by a combination of re-routing, conserving and new capacity.

France's nuclear plants are looking pretty smart right now.

Bye bye U.S. Dollar  Kiss

EDIT: Then again maybe that's his plan to start WW3

Russia could not crash the USD even if it tried to.  In fact it looks like Russia has already sold 100 Billion in the last two weeks with little effect.  They don't have much ammo left when it comes to this move.  This will hurt them more then it hurts the USA.

Obama or Putin could start WW3 easily either openly or secretly.  This is NOT hard to do.  A little mistake with a ship, plane, missile or sub could do it on either side.  Luckily neither of them really want it.

Hi,

I recently purchased a Corsair CX750 for my Antminer S1. Has anyone successfully run 2 S1's off of an CX750?  Any issues/cautions?

Thanks.

Probably not a good idea.   Do not overclock them!  If you slightly underclocked them you could get a nice safe margin.  I use 900W supplies for 2 S1's.
