Meh, same old same old. FTX not the end of the world as anyone with sense already know. Time to start moving back up.

FTX briefly pulled Bitcoin's trousers down, but it it won't take long to pull them back up again.

I didn't see anything change about Bitcoin at all. Just sheep being sheared.

I don't understand what you're saying.  These "investors" gave Sam real money he was supposed to use to grow his company but rather than do that, he squandered it.  They were looking for long-term gains - at what point after they gave Sam their money was it ever worth even just the amount they initially "invested"?  Are you saying Sam only recently became a fraud and there was a time when their investment was worth more?  That's not what I'm reading about this fiasco.

Same old deal. When the money printers go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, those whose pockets it goes into look for any available shit to stash their ill-gottens. Scams are going to abound in these circumstances.

Exchanges are a "necessary evil". I am sure the sugar grower hates the idea of having his prices being dictated by some guy in suit on wall street, but the reality is, it is a global form of price discovery and if there is money to be made, someone will find a way to exploit it!

Some of us wanted to be buying and selling goods and services directly in BTC with the added advantage that when the economy is shit, everyone doesn't run for the exits so they can feed their family and keep the lights on with filthy $

But, yaknow...

Maybe they should have called it a "key pen" or "personal signer", but definitely not a "wallet".

Yes. I said this many years ago. In many ways, a Bitcoin Wallet is actually more akin to a credit/debit card than a wallet.

At the moment My cash withdrawals from coinbase are 3 days Late to hit the bank.

Not sure why but if you are sitting on cash with coinbase like I was you may want to know they are slow to pay it in my case.

I will post back tonight to mention if they send it.

Are you doing the free withdrawal? That usually takes a little while to show up, especially at the weekends when banks are closed.

I need this entire thing explained to me.

I could live with never knowing.

As an SF fan I have long thought some kind of metaverse will exist, when VR tech is sufficiently advanced (full bodysuit or some kind of direct brain connexion), however I didn't envision that it would be so centered on making money. It has to be sustainable of course and thus cost something, but "buying" plots of virtual land for crazy amounts, "buying" virtual Vuitton bags, what the hell ?

Things go in cycles and the online world needs some decentralization brought back to it. Why would we want one "Metaverse" where you have to bow down before Zuck or risk losing everything you have?

You are probably right on this one.
However I think many exchanges run a fraction reserve system.  At least I expect them to until they offer a real time audit.

For sure. This is not new news, however.

The usual FUD that follows behind any bad news to keep the pressure in a downward direction.

Not sure why inflation would magically go away over night anyway.

Rs took the house. That means the brakes probably get pumped a bit on spending bills. Money printer still go brrrrrr but not quite as fast hopefully.

"Biden said he would remain committed to fighting inflation 'without losing jobs'"

Utterly deluded or blatantly telling lies. Take your pick.

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Why not both?

if you have to ask yourself if you are a little bit gay...you might just be a little bit gay....  #justsayin  #nohomo    Grin

........what color and patterns are you thinkin?

Well, to match the color scheme, I was leaning towards gay gray...errr ...grey.
Oh ffs!... how do you spell that colour color anyway?
#nohomo

Might want to accent it. Orange contrasts well with grey and matches your avatar.

Yup, that sounds about right for a typical crowing bitcoiner with more coins than intelligence.

Show me on the doll...

@fillippone, do you know about those 50k BTC you mentioned the other day? I just read a post from @malevolent and the man from whom everything was seized is a member of this forum even though he has not been active since 2017. Maybe someone will remember him for those famous transactions of 40 000 BTC that he did several times.

Yep. I think he bought a Lambo and posted pics.

Ridiculous. One retarded exchange goes under and this? Too much speculation again.

Quote
Officers say they found the Bitcoin dotted around his home on hard drives and other storage devices in an underfloor safe and on a tiny computer hidden inside a popcorn tin in a bathroom closet.

Possibly they have found far from everything then.

TL;DR the whole system is made to be incredibly time consuming and overall bizarre. I cannot imagine how people will manage on Nov 8.
One disappointment is that this year there were only a few libertarian candidates. I guess that party is not competitive at all (in my state).

..man..this should be done by any other method, but this.

Which state?

You know which group of people have problems with complicated and new processes? You know which way they tend to vote?

There's your answer.
