241  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Can unnecessary taxation be avoided when withdrawing crypto profits? on: November 23, 2023, 09:20:29 PM
This category system is fucking stupid in my opinion. Tax people who've been in the industry for so long but make it so vague that people wouldn't have the slightest clue what it means to be a category three trader in Belgium? What an utter joke.

The first thing you should make sure, when proposing a new ordinance or a law is to make sure that no one misconstrues it, so as to not make people liable for violating it get away under vague grounds. Not that taxing people for crypto usage is a massive movement in the first place, but it just grinds my gears that they propose such a particular law under super vague terms. It's frustrating honestly.
242  Economy / Economics / Re: World changing and those who don't adopt this Will stay poor on: November 23, 2023, 08:35:14 PM
A little too hard to adjust on how the world works right now, considering that inflation’s at an all-time-high right now and jobs are becoming even harder to come by, so while it’s great that we’re spreading awareness and letting people know that if you want to invest in bitcoin, the best time to start is now, we need to drawbthe line between spreading awareness and fearmongering upon people who do not have the proper capabilities to invest in any form of crypto right now. It’s pathetic and paints a bad impression of how the crypto community operates.

This one in particular, while garnering a catchy title, is a little tongue in cheek and lacks empathy towards these people that I’ve mentioned.
243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Often Do You Check Your Seed Phrase. on: November 23, 2023, 07:44:13 PM
I keep it to my person as much as possible, or if in any case, I make sure to keep it in a place where I know I wouldn't lose it, for example, keeping a safety deposit box that contains your cold wallet and the seed phrase that opens it/private key is one of the best ways to keep your wallet safe, since for the most part, it keeps both your key and your wallet in a single place so there's no chance for you to actually lose it or something, and furthermore, when you move out, there's no way you'd leave your whole net worth out so of course you're going to carry it with you on important situations.
244  Economy / Economics / Re: No Correlation Between Academic Success and Financial Success on: November 22, 2023, 10:32:26 PM
There is a correlation, but the line is slowly blurring as more people and companies pursue skills and experience over degree and where you get your diploma from. I could confirm cause way back then, being someone who had to quit college for a while, finding a good-paying job which is your first line of thinking when you're looking for ways to make money and achieve that financial success, is exceptionally hard. You're stuck with menial job listings or jobs that wouldn't push you further into your career, which is generally bad for your self-actualization, if anything.

So yes, don't let a single bad exam make you feel bad and scared about your future. But by all means go get that degree. Don't listen to these people with their sigma hustle mindset talking about shit like "you don't need a degree to be successful", cause they may be right, but there's no singular formula for success, and furthermore, education sets you up to open these paths that you can choose.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They accumulate bitcoin but how about you? on: November 22, 2023, 09:55:33 PM
Well of course the most sensible approach is to accumulate and save as much crypto as you can while it's still this cheap. I've been collecting as much crypto myself cause I know for sure sooner or later we're going to hit another milestone when the bull run arrives. Rather be an early bird and carry all the risks that come with trusting the market this early, than let yourself become a follower out of your fear of losing money and be late to the party.

To those of you who are still a little hesitant about investing in cryptocurrencies, and are able to practically invest in it given the circumstances of your finances, Here's what I have to say: One way or another, you're going to lose your money. So would you rather lose it without ever seeing anything come from the money you worked so hard for, or would you finally take charge and start learning about how you could invest and make money work for you. Doesn't even have to be crypto at this point, just you outright learning about investing.
246  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: November 22, 2023, 09:15:26 PM
Trading would only ruin you if you let the losses and the crashes take over your mental. I've been with people who outrightly stopped trading crypto altogether because of a massive loss, and those who started all over again even after they lost everything. The only thing that's different between the two is that the latter is still kicking, and is probably making a killing or is set to make a killing soon enough. This goes to show that you miss all the shots you don't take, and the only thing that could ruin you is your mindset really.

Invest if you will, trade if you could, but don't let it get to you, and if you feel like the stress is becoming unbearable, then by all means seek help.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: November 22, 2023, 08:05:13 PM
Not ridiculous at all! We got someone here who documented their success in actually financing a house using bitcoin, and countless other people who rode the early wave and got millions of dollars out of the ordeal! This isn't to say that the current situation of crypto and bitcoin isn't sustainable anymore for anyone to become rich from it, cause you still can and if you put in the effort you would, but it's just that you're going to have to exert more effort than those of us who went into this industry a little earlier than you.

If investing's not really your drift anymore, the crypto industry's a growing world as well, you could look into jobs and careers in this industry which could help you so much with expanding your income opportunities, so you can finally buy your mom a house.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Largest crypto exchange CEO arrested! Anyone getting deja vu? on: November 22, 2023, 07:31:48 PM
Welp. This is just disappointing, to think that I was adamant about protecting and believing that he's the last stand against the CEX hate last year, what an eye-opening disappointment. Although is Binance directly involved in this money laundering business, or is binance only fined cause CZ was the CEO at the moment they made these vile things? Anybody willing to shed the light on me in this one? So, apparently the hate that the SEC is sending towards CEXs aren't necessarily unwarranted, they probably do have some sort of monkey business going on, either involving the business itself, or the founder of said business only. This sucks, cause this would practically mean that millions of people who are into crypto's gonna get into a massive culture shock.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Zero Knowledge Proof: How helpful can this be to Bitcoin? on: November 21, 2023, 10:29:33 PM
I've been ogling Zero Knowledge Proof ever since talks about it have been made since Ethereum's switch to Proof of Stake. And it does make sense for something like Zero Knowledge Proof to be implemented into networks like Ethereum as it vastly improves interoperability, transaction wait times and fees, as well as the overall experience while using their network. However, this got me thinking, would the same be possible for Bitcoin? Could zero-knowledge proofs be the answer to the ongoing scalability issues and all that shit we've been debating against each other about for years now?

What are your thoughts about this, what could I have mistaken for? Any crypto tech wiz here?

For those who only knew about ZK proof through this post, give this quick read a looksee: Zero-knowledge proofs, explained
250  Economy / Economics / Re: ~85% of money doesn't exist on: November 19, 2023, 11:58:26 PM
Money is debt as what they say. Most of the money that was in here, is most likely coming from the fact that they are literally made from debt and from loans. Didn't we get an expose a few years ago talking about how the total debt in the planet rose up to 10 trillion, a laughable amount compared to the fact that the total money that's in circulation (meaning money that is literally within the system and is being used by the people) is literally just well under 4 trillion dollars.

This is just embarrassing in some degree, but at the same time it's an eye opener to many, gives you an unadulterated perspective as to how money is really being made in this planet.
251  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat & Crypto - Effective Expert Advise on: November 19, 2023, 11:29:57 PM
Well, since you've got enough salary to get by and probably penetrate the cryptocurrency industry. it's all a matter of wills at this point and not a matter of logistics.

If you're worried about not knowing how to put your money on the crypto industry, I suggest going back to basics and investing on a dollar-cost averaging mechanic with bitcoin. Why? Bitcoin's the most consistent and most reliable cryptocurrency on the market right now. You put your money on bitcoin, wait for a few years or months depending on when you placed your position, and watch as the money flows in when the bull run arrives. At this point, I'd say it's not a matter of if you can invest in bitcoin for many people, since we're already in a period where you can literally invest peanuts on bitcoin and be consistent with this investment, and you'd still have something to reap afterwards when the whole market rewards you with price increases.
252  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: November 19, 2023, 10:58:39 PM
LOL. I see like almost 5 Nestle brands in that picture.

Nestle has done far worse things than picking sides in any particular war, and people have been boycotting them for decades, but the blood-thirsty company continues to buy up other businesses and hurt more people by making things prohibitively expensive for them.
Don't get me started with that Water bullshit they put out in 2014.

Although I don't get what the fuck OP meant with "stop ruining your economy with your stupid I stand with Palestine bullshit" or whatever the fuck he put out in his main post. First off, every country's in the position to lift themselves up through their innate denominators and features. Some countries have natural resources, some countries have particularly nicer views that could be used as tourist attractions, it all boils down to proper governance and anti-corruption movements. Now, the problem with your statement is that it discourages fighting for people's liberty, and supporting the oppressor just cause they give you money. If I tell you to stop bitching about work since you're getting paid to do it anyway, would you feel rather happy about what I said?
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really too Expensive? Then Buy Satoshis on: November 19, 2023, 10:39:41 PM
I get what you're trying to say, and I would ride on this idea if not for the fact that it would literally take them years for these satoshis to even become worth more than a hotdog bun. Yes, satoshis are cheap and they definitely make it easier to digest just how large a bitcoin's value is, especially for those without the capital to boot, but for crying out loud man Satoshis are worth virtually nothing on their own right now, you're literally making them buy crypto on the most basic level that even if they did buy bitcoin this way, they still wouldn't be able to reap benefits due to how laughably low their entry is.

What I instead would suggest is to not break the system, if you can't afford to buy bitcoin as a piece, DCA the fuck out of it. We don't need to reinvent the wheel right here my friend. Just need to spread the word that this particular method makes the wheel turn.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How high can the transaction fees become? on: November 18, 2023, 08:43:34 PM
I don't think you could. That's a pretty tough deal to ask, and even harder to predict than the price of bitcoin cause at the very least we have concrete definitive factors that could play a part in what the price of bitcoin would be in the future. Fees on the other hand are a little more tricky since it all depends on the current congestion rate in the network, which is already something that's hard to predict to begin with unless you get something like the ordinals coming in.

I say you shouldn't worry about trivial matters like that. Reinvest your time and effort into much more important stuff like actually preparing for the foreseeable future bitcoin-wise. Good enough that you're saving your money on a multi-sig wallet, but I would suggest using multiple wallets for different types of expense and transactions.
255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The prospect of mixers in a congested mempool on: November 18, 2023, 08:07:22 PM
Mixers aren't really in the negative here per se. The fact that this is a niche aspect in the world of crypto allows them to literally pass the increased fee charge to their users, or they can be altruistic and as what some in this thread have said, take part or the entire fee for the user, in which case they are still not at a disadvantage as this will literally paint them in a good light, and allow users to trust them fully. Mixers are going to be the last of your worries when congestion happens, since for one, as said earlier it's a niche, not everyone in this industry wishes to have their cryptocurrencies mixed up, so it's not like the entire crypto industry is affected, and this also opens the opportunity for mixers to charge their users a little higher, as once again mentioned beforehand.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when your identity is stolen -- real story || Avoid CEXs! on: November 18, 2023, 07:04:35 PM
That's a massive ordeal if I ever read one. Imagine getting your whole identity stolen, the cops knowing that it was stolen in the first place, and then getting into the same altercation once again cause the cops failed to understand that your information was compromised from the get-go. In times like these they should put people whose information got stolen into some sort of filing group that doesn't kick them out of the suspect lists, but at least sets the expectations for the investigators that these people got their information compromised in the past, and they may have to employ a different style of apprehension or receiving anything of value from these people.

Just hoping this would be the last that he'd get into this situation, but if he does get into one once again, what are the possibilities of having his identity be replaced, just like what they do for witness protection?
257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Is bigger block capacity still a taboo? on: November 18, 2023, 06:21:53 PM
I remained impartial about this blocksize war, despite it being one of the most pivotal events in the history of cryptocurrencies, and I will remain impartial about it even until now. On one hand, bitcoin remaining to be in this 1 mb size limit ensures that decentralization is taken care of and that no one has to pay so much fees in the future. But at the same time, the benefits of a larger and more advanced network is something not to scoff at either. I say, if we ever feel the need to have a better and more reliable form of bitcoin for transactions and all that stuff, a fork is the only solution that would satisfy everyone's needs and it's something that I personally would be willing to follow through if need be. No more overhauling of the system, cause we don't need to fix what's not broken in the first place.
258  Economy / Economics / Re: Imaginary Future on: November 18, 2023, 05:46:24 PM
The future is always uncertain on some levels, but that doesn't mean you can just give it up to chance whether you'd be successful or what not. The future's not imaginary, it's true, and you're the one that's creating it. If you can't go so far as be prudent enough to think about it and prepare by investing your money, doesn't even have to be crypto at this point, just be prudent enough to actually have the right mindset to invest and put your money into work so you don't have to break your back your whole life chasing money.

259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An easy approach to Bitcoin on: November 17, 2023, 11:47:05 PM
We’re talking about teenagers right? Cause I don’t think there’s merit to teaching kids about bitcointhis early without letting them know about other financial fundamentals like financial literacy. Yes you teach them about making money but you didn’t teach them how to save and keep it for rainy days? That’s going to be a massive problem in the future my friend.

It’s much better teaching them about the most important stuff first, later down the line upon self-discovery they’d happen upon bitcoin and cryptocurrency for sure, let them have their own adventures and figure shit out on their oen. No knowledge is waste but knowledge without responsibilities is deadly.
260  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you work toward hodling bitcoin? on: November 16, 2023, 10:49:25 PM
The thing is that the hardest part of hodling bitcoin is keeping yourself from spending it. Which is why it’s always best to stay employed despite having a sizeable portfolio. This way, you get to continue to have a consistent source of money that you can reliably depend upon without having to spend money that you’ve saved through your bitcoin. Once you’re able to complete this you’re pretty much out of the woods when it comes to bitcoin holding, as everything else will come easy for you.

Oh, and also set a consistent schedule for when you’re going to put money into your crypto wallet. And always make sure you put it on time. This will instill discipline upon yourself which will eventually grow to become your very own habit.
