isn't so many people buying waves now actually worse for the profits? If waves would start let sat at $0.02 and you had 1000 shares , wouldn't that be better than 100 shares at $0.2? For some reason I think that jumping 10x from let say 0.0002 to 0.002 can happen much faster than jumping from 2 to 20, no? (in both cases we profit 10x). For example for ETH to jump from 10 cents to $1 was easier/faster than it will be jumping from $10 to $100, no?
Absolutely true, mate. It may be good for short-term profit, but in long term it will be much harder to get big jumps (x10) in value. so why are so many people happy if more and more people invest? It will be harder for all of us to reach good profits this way. A lot of the so called profits are going to come from just pure speculation early on. And like most businesses it is about marketing, sometimes even before the tech is created! In our case, we have the tech, but now we have a lot of money to be used for marketing. Though I would say there is still an optimal amount and doubt we crossed that yet. |

At present, it's 80.57 million. Mining emission's 5 per 17 seconds, from what I saw in a comment; I'm not sure how to account for uncle rewards. https://etherscan.io/stats/supplyThe initial release was on July 30th of last year. Assuming that mining started that same day, there've been ~8.2 million block rewards and ~0.44 million uncle rewards for a total of ~8.64 million additional ether over ten months. From what I've been able to dig up, PoS will begin " before November 1st 2017." So...your question depends upon your timeframe. Using a very basic/choppy division of the above stats gives an increase of - roughly - less than 900,000 new ethers per month. I chop-rounded upwards to give you a prudent figure to work with. Using these choppy calcs, the supply should be somewhere near 95 million in about 16 or 17 months - which is the timeframe in which PoS is scheduled to start. Best I can do.  Interesting. And at the POS switch, they are going to greatly cut the emission down from 17 million a year to, I forget the number, is it 2 million a year or ? Thanks in advance, IAS |

LSK should have a simple DAPP competition with the following criteria. $100 000 for 5 DAPPS ($20k) Each. $4k each to the winners up front. In order to receive the remaining $16k the DAPP MVP must be delivered and accessible via LSK within 3 months. (You could even have this funded via the delegate system to demonstrate the power of DPOS.) I imagine you'd only get something simple for such a small amount, but it would get the ball rolling in terms of fast paced DAPP development.
Things will get exciting when Lisk starts attending its first conferences in next few days...
LSK/Max should perhaps approach Charles Hoskinson at that conference, he was a founder of BTS, played a significant role in Ethereum and I think is somehow involved in the tech behind Waves but not endorsing it/involved. So if there's something he's working on that could be applied to/help LSK that could be a valuable association. Actually a great idea. Dark Market (open Bazaar?) came out of one. Bright minds will come. |

The more I think about it, the more i have the feeling that the DDoS attack might have been a blessing in disguise. I mean, the dump would have happened either way, but if everybody hat access from the beginning, it would have been faster, possibly inducing even more panic and thus, heavier.
Plus, Lisks network itself hasn't been tested, although I don't think that would have been much of an issue…
Not to mention that the DDos-attack supressed prices for hours, widening the window of oppertunity to buy cheap lisk significantly. Sometimes buying coins when everyone is talking trash about it isn't a bad plan ... ! Yeah, I didn't know what to think about the DDOS attack. On the one hand it could have helped with their agenda but on the other, could have blown up in their face. Not sure. IMO - It just slowed down the coming rise and did no real harm. Well, it probably helped some people to do with the market whatvever they wanted. Dump fast in the big bids and sell cheap afterwards, probably. Too bad, I worked out how to install the linux client a little too late, I think i was like ten minutes late on Bittrex  But overall, I think it did less harm than people feared. Well except for those who sold their coins as fast as they could. If it had spiked really huge, I might have sold some, but this space and a few of these "Cryptos" I want to ride out and be a part of the experiment. So for me, a hidden blessing - though time will tell. I really can't imagine what this is all going to look like in 3-5 years... |

when The DAO closes there's speculation (naturally, this is crypto) that a fair few people will check out by selling the tokens, but as i understand it that will have to be to BTC and not directly back to ETH on exchanges. ETH's price is somewhat static and i'm wondering if this is likely to tempt people to choose LSK? we might see some additional capital flow this way. is my thinking fundamentally flawed?
Agreed, I've said the same thing elsewhere. Money will flow into LISK, the WAVES ICO is going to close in 5 days, so maybe it see's some from the profits. Outside of LISK, WAVES and The DAO, not sure if any other ICO's really interest me. |

It took just over 1 hour. I thought maybe I missed that first block, quite common for 20 minute or so confirmations in my experience. But never had an hour before.
Sorry to say, I don't know how to check the intervals. Is that something on the blockchain explorer page or ? Perhaps it helps others not so technical.

As for social accounts, you will be confirming them on the ICO site. As for signature campaign, you will need to send message from your Bct account with your Waves address. I still don't get how it is going to work. Does this mean we are going to have the main net launched after the end of ICO? Or it will be like Lisk where we will only get the private keys of Waves tokens? ICO ends on May, 31, next beta mainnet launches, first checks, next investors are able to withdraw their tokens directly from their personal accounts on the ICO site to exchanges wallets, while they are withdrawing they will need to confirm also through email they receive in the process. Exchanges will announce by themselves when they have wallets available. So Waves launch is basically a huge IOU situation, with no wallets or actual Waves tokens - those will come later in the summer. People will be trading Waves IOU's for bitcoin. Am I understanding this correctly? because if I am, this ico is selling absolutely nothing but future promises. The "launch" won't actually happen for months. In this case allowing trading early like this could be really bad for the Waves price. Good point but at the same time I'm not sure if it will matter. Look at how good LISK did with IOU tokens, then it hits the exchanges at a fraction of that. Overall, I think it gives investors/speculators, time to get in. And understand something, it is like a Trojan Horse - you have months of news, pump, etc. to do before the real release. Some smart cats there, a great great launch is very very possible. |

If you really feel that, then by all means show us to the contrary. ( I hold both.) I think having the sidechains to run Dapps on is HUGE, as is using Javascript as the language. That said, I see Ethereum as awesome and Lisk gaining ground. If you can afford to buy some Lisk, then please do. |

WAVES Will be on Poloniex first day of trading you can bet your life on that. Easy to see Waves is a class above Lisk, who wants to read or see 90% of spam posts like on the Lisk thread. One of the reasons i have gone in heavy on waves is due to the maturity seen here that combined with the mention of Mycelium. QUESTION How will Waves work on the Mycelium wallet (which i absolutely love) Thank you. Waves appears much more risky than Lisk. (I am in on both) i don't understand how people here are smacking down Lisk and it is up 300%. Maybe others should be respectful and hope both succeed as They are not at all competitors.
