2402  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BitVPS WANTS TO HELP SLUSH -- YOU CAN TOO on: March 02, 2012, 03:22:12 AM
People should be completele aware of what they are dealing with.

BitVPS's WHMCS installation was hacked recently and user data likely compromised.

It is well known that their administrators regularly inspect users hard drives.

Look before you leap.

So that's the previous reputation one of the posters was talking about... Undecided

lol ^^ this :\ not going to lie but advertising your business at time like this is pretty low don't you think? stay classy!

I'm half a noob when it comes to exactly how the blockchain can be used to track transactions, but my understanding is that since we have the hash that stole the coins, even if he tries to wash them can't we see at least where big chunks will go?   can we track this money through the block chain?

funny I was wondering the very same thing. I don't get why anyone would steal bitcoin since when you go to "cash out" it could conceivably be red-flagged - then again they could do small amounts  BUT STILL what thief wants to sit there and do $50 cash out at a time ? can anyone explain this?

right... anyone trying to follow the bits?

Help?

OP: any chance you've obtained your sudden windfall of bitcoins buy stealing them from Bitcoinica & Slush & the faucet?  Huh

Be NICE if all our education back in June about protecting wallets would have applied to all the ^^ above.  Sad

Silk Road has the best laundry and you sure ain't gonna get their help, much less you'll get help from the drug dealers to whom those coins will be delivered ultimately.

ah got it you mean the jack-ass's that do this actually spend the bitcoins ? LOL   still even silkroad should be like oh look at that guy buying $1,000 $5,000 worth of ecstasy gee ..

GOOD!  Grin there is light at the end of the tunnel lol ... seriously, I think you've "served your time"  you've been here longer then me  contributing more then me probably and yet you get labeled a scammer? Makes no sense ...NO sense!
2416  Other / Meta / Re: Cleaning up the forum ... on: February 24, 2012, 10:41:00 PM
Any chance we can clean out old handles that have "scammer" label ?  My heart just jumps when I see it on an old discussion thread and it really, really LOOKS bad for the community as a whole if a newbie is looking to get into this and sees a huge SCAMMER label...specially if the handle looks dead.... Any plans of purging these old scammer handles out  Huh

It's funny, seeing the scammer label has the exact opposite effect on me ... what I mean is, it shows that this community is actively persecuting those that want to perpetrate a scam.

In fact, if I seen no scammer tags at all, I would be suspicious of the site ...

but i get where you're coming from

lol..I know what you mean...I mean of course go ahead and label active "scammers" one's  currently scamming ...but someone who scammed like 10 months ago on a dead thread just looks bad Tongue

Oh man... this was my very first experiment with Bitcoins, literally my first Bitcoin purchase ever...

I will be so incredibly angry if they have done a runner... believe it or not I am on a disability pension, and used some money I got for my birthday as I thought it would be fun to speculate, as I could do it from home on the net...

I was prepared to lose my money if the BTC collapsed, but not from dodgy operators.

But, it's not necessarily over yet... let's hope for a miracle

Hey LD Zogy8 - this is just shitty   our community can't be having this happen let me know if you can't get your coins and I'll give you some because that is just messed up we loose so many credibility points when things like this happens....

(watching thread)

is your project hosted on a dedicated server, or VPS? if so, do you know what OS and what version? is your server already running bitcoind?

Sending PM. Thanks!
