Because they would be silly to solomine unless they have a awesome rig

No, greedy bastards dont like giving 1% to the pool operator no matter of their hashing speed

Greedy bastards like to run their own p2pool at 0% fees.

Not sure. It's a girl facing right, looking at something.

I happen to also be a wealthy bitcoin holder. Why and how? I started mining bitcoin April 2009. Do the math.

Maybe, maybe not. You might of unloaded/lost them ages ago. Maybe even just mined a few and got bored or mined tons, then formatted your harddrive.

Anything that's obviously just a scamcoin.

Problem is if we do that Cryptsy will be a very quiet place indeed.
2407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: merge mining on litecoin, feathercoin etc. on: October 12, 2013, 07:40:31 PM
Hi all,

Is merged mining possible with litecoin, feathercoin etc. ?
And how?

Regards,

AtBr

Yes, merge mining is possible with scrypt coins, (not with SHA256 at same time obviously).
To my knowledge no-one has been arsed to bother programming it in though. But I may be wrong.
2408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should miners collude to steal funds from wallet confiscated by US government? on: October 11, 2013, 04:54:19 PM
The fact that blocking transactions is even considered by some, is proof we need litecoin to stick around.

And how does Litecoin protect against this problem?

2409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good news, MtGox finally mention about Litecoin on: October 11, 2013, 04:01:12 PM
What is this obsession with MtGox and Litecoin?
What difference will it make if it does start supporting Litecoin? The answer, nothing.

What a stupid question have you ever traded before? i don't think so

The cryptoworld is a very different place than 2 years ago. MtGox just isn't as important any more.

I wouldn't put my flat/coins anywhere near there. Also as another poster pointed out, good luck getting your flat out.

What happened to that link pointing to cryptolife.net ?
I hope it hasn't been censored.

it was off topic. it got removed by the admin, and so was my respond to him!

So if the article had shone Feathercoin in a good light, but still off-topic, would that have been quickly removed as well? I think not.

This is not good. If the Feathercoin community cannot handle a simple critic, than you might as well shut up shop now, because if Feathercoin grows (as you hope), there be a dumper truck load of critics on their way.

I also seen that your post in the "FTC Oxford" thread was deleted. that sucks.

Yes, I've just inquired about that. It was off-topic apparently, so had to be quickly removed.

2413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin really anonymous? on: October 11, 2013, 12:05:38 PM
That is why I create lots of lots of bitcoin address, one for real life, one for bitcoin forum and etc. This way I can reduce the expose Smiley
This is one of the reasons why I use a new address for EVERY TRANSACTION I receive and I NEVER RE-USE an address I've used in the past.
So you must have like 100000 Bitcoin address by now?

I've been using bitcoin for approximtely a year.

Is there a reason that you think I engage in more than 300 transactions per day?

Also, since I never re-use addresses, many of my addresses and private keys can be deleted once I'm done with them.  At the moment, my Bitcoin-Qt wallet has exactly 22 addresses listed in the "Receive" section.

Sorry but i'm kinda noob, how do you delete a address? I'm using Bitcoin-Qt as my wallet too.

It can be done, but it's not easy. Just ignore them would be best.

New article about Feathercoin. A coin you should definitely not invest in.

http://cryptolife.net/an-in-depth-look-at-feathercoin-the-coin-that-started-it-all/

I was unaware Feathercoin uses the same genesis block as Litecoin....

Just confirmed it myself. I'm lost for words.

No.  No.  Legal means legal.  If I sell a hot dog on the same corner as a drug dealer, are my profits subject to confiscation?

They would be if you was both operating from the same kiosk.

2417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should miners collude to steal funds from wallet confiscated by US government? on: October 11, 2013, 04:32:52 AM
Well, it does chap my ass that the US government seized bitcoins from people around the world, many of whom were not engaging in illegal activity on their location.

Well if people insist on leaving their coins on an extremely illegal drug marketplace what else do they expect?
2418  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question for site operators: How do you deal with trolls? on: October 11, 2013, 04:23:53 AM
Never give out free coins, unless your giving to charity.

Who's to say they didn't have large amounts before SR got busted? They could of been early miners easily.
2420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Questions for alt-coin developers on: October 09, 2013, 10:49:48 AM
Would it be possible to create a fork of a coin and change the specs so that the coins/units are only whole non-negative integers? So that only whole coins may be sent or received.

The decimal point is kind of pointless, just ignore it.
