2421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is A Better Option Than Fiat Money? on: February 13, 2022, 07:32:36 AM
You need to understand what purpose you are using bitcoin for and in what qualities you are comparing it to fiat money. It seems to me that bitcoin is now hard to be classified as a means of payment, it is more suitable as a means of accumulation. As long as almost everything in the world is counted in fiat money (dollars, euros), bitcoin is not going to be a convenient means of payment.
^That is what they are thinking now for those who have been adopting BTC, it is all about storing value just to make a profit and not just a mode of payment, probably there are some using this as a mode of payment but the majority are using this because of accumulation and while making profit through hoarding it and waiting for a good value comes. But I don't think BTC is a good option than fiat because for me they have pros and cons of each other that we should consider before deciding its functionalities. Both are useful for me.
There are two fundamental differences. Fiat money is always inflationary, while bitcoin is deflationary. That is why its value in fiat is always going up. But if you look at it as a means of payment, it is more convenient to use fiat, because, for example, in a year your purchase could be several times more expensive or cheaper than your current purchase. In general, bitcoin has to become a world currency, so that it is easy to use.
Fiat is easy to trade as it's the legal currency and accepted by all from a long time and it's value will remain the same for its whole life and the only thing that makes it inflationary is the rising inflation and government printing more similar notes to counterbalance it but in the turn making it worthless. But for Bitcoin to become world currency there needs to wide adoption and it still will not replace fiat completely and work as alternative to it.But for those who knows about btc it's best option to use as store of value and as payment processing also.
That's why I said it's not really correct to compare bitcoin to fiat money. The original idea was for people to use bitcoin instead of fiat money. But now things have changed and bitcoin has become a kind of digital gold after funds and big players entered the market. But bitcoin can save your money from inflation.

2423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin thief on Bitfinex exchange caught? on: February 12, 2022, 06:55:27 PM
I don't know how anyone can believes official story how special agents lawfully seized this coins, and how Lichtenstein and Morgan kept private key unencrypted on their cloud account.
It's more likely that someone from their inner circle found out the truth and reported them to authorities, or they made some other sloppy mistake.
Either way I don't trust official story and I am expecting Bitcoins to be returned to Bitfinex exchange and not sold on the market by US officials.

Weren't the losses refunded to the owners when the bitcoin was priced at 700 doolars? If so, the coins should be returned to the exchange. I don't trust the official versions that various news sources talk about either. I think we are being shown the wrong people for this theft.

2425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: School Students learning bitcoin basics in Slovakia.. on: February 12, 2022, 03:26:41 PM
It is high time bitcoin was added to the education program for schoolchildren or students, because it is a new and progressive technology that is being used all over the world. I just don't understand in maths, computer science or economics to teach it? Probably better to teach it in more detail in institutes.
2426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oscar Awards 2022 betting thread on: February 12, 2022, 10:32:54 AM
I saw Matrix and its not half as bad as some are describing it, its not near to as good as the original but its not a bad stand alone movie by  itself.   I was especially impressed by the special effects and the general pace of action in the movie, Im glad they made the movie as its watchable for sure.   Its not likely an Oscar contender imo unless I missed a technical award it might receive but I'd expect other movies to qualify better overall.
I dont think they advanced the story enough, its more of a revisit to the universe.   Anyone new to Matrix should make certain they watch them all in order dont begin with this and work backwards.

I thought the last part of the matrix was terrible, Keanu Reeves may have played his part well but the film was no different from regular action movies. I didn't like this film and I don't think it's worthy of an Oscar nomination in any way.
2427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 11, 2022, 01:08:05 PM
Real Madrid are a tough opponent for PSG, who they face on February 15, four days from now.
Most likely, the main players will be rested before the Champions League match.  Rennes will probably do their best to at least not lose this match.
2428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The faith of Altcoins in 2022 on: February 11, 2022, 07:21:26 AM
Do you know why the ratings for new games get lower and lower every year? Because it’s ridiculous to try to meet the demand with similar shooters for over 15 years. The industry needs something new, and oddly enough, today that new thing is a good-old card game from 1994. Spellfire has been recreated on Blockchain and something tells me that it will be a big boom.

The same can be said for new altcoins, which are almost identical to each other, so the prospect of such coins will almost always tend towards zero. Altcoins are just speculation. Altcoins are definitely not to be trusted.
Identical project which mostly created to allure investors and scam away after, people need to be more curious before investing to any

assets that they think will give them the benefits. Thorough research and doing all the precautions to avoid being victimized, though there

are still potential projects that may provide decent profits but the percentage between good and bad projects is really a far.

You needed to work more with sorting and selecting the best one that you really trust.

If you look at the history of cryptocurrencies a little earlier, like 5-7 years ago, you might notice that other coins were at the top. Of course you have to do a thorough analysis of the projects, but still the chance of having to guess the future solana or avax is not very high.
2429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Isn’t KYC anti-ethical to Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2022, 04:39:27 AM
Bitcoin was invented as a transfer of value between people directly, without the involvement of a third part. That is, if bitcoin is considered money, then in such a system you do not need a bank to make payments. Any bank requires proof of identity. In a bitcoin system, you don't need a bank from the beginning. So there is no need for a KYC.

2431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: February 10, 2022, 04:00:57 PM
For more than a year now, metaverses have been gaining popularity. I wouldn't say it will be a big step in the industry, because people have been sitting at their computers and will continue to do that. But I think that many casinos will want to make their services in these metverses. It would probably be a small step towards true VR, which is sure to come in the future.
2432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I the only one who loves BTC but hates the Metaverse idea and the NFTs? on: February 10, 2022, 09:32:25 AM
Without going into too much detail, metaverses can be seen as a normal computer game, such as Minecraft. It's just that there's been a hype and that's why metaverses are too popular. It's the same with NFT. History is repeating itself. There used to be a rush for ICOs, which then, if not scammed, lost 99% of their value. I think the same thing will happen to NFT in the future when owners of jpeg-monkeys, punks, penises and who knows what else will be left with nothing. But you have to hand it to the metaverses and NFT, thanks to them the crypto market is booming right now.
2433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who saw the Bear market coming? on: February 09, 2022, 08:55:09 PM
It is becoming a nature or a nature in the Bitcoin price movement, that whenever a new price mark is achieved, there will be this price correction to retain a support zone and balance for a new price mark.
Am not much a pro in technical analysis but I'll say Bitcoin has dropped into the bear market zone, and this is one thing that could be some draw back to having new ATH, as this zone will be affecting the entire market. I don't really think this bear zone will be the one that will last for up to a year or more. This is a good time to buy the deep, with fingers crossed that it doesn't go any further or worst than the way it already is. If Bitcoin price should remain above the price mark of $30k+, that will be okay, but going below it, that will fill the market with blood and lots of coins might be dead while some becomes shitcoins.

Interesting to read your reasoning a week later when bitcoin is up almost 40%. So what if the bear market doesn't come now or even this year? And most of all I wonder - did you buy bitcoins on this correction or not? I'm not going to guess what the price will be in a month or six months, but I think you can just keep your coins and not pay attention to fluctuations. It turns out to be the best strategy in the end. Even those who bought bitcoins in 2017 for 20k and didn't sell them are now with good profits. I'm not even talking about what would have happened if they had not worred to invest and regularly restocked their coins. But there are probably very few people like that, because not everyone's mental health can stand the news background of a bitcoin crash. I think that now we can see the same situation.
2434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kazakhstan proposes power price hikes and taxes targeting crypto miners on: February 09, 2022, 12:13:17 PM
I believe this is not for the miners but they just actually looking for some way to increase their profit due to the lots of what going on out there. Their country is not doing well and they are about to fix their financial problems by fixing the rates of everything. Looks like the price hikes on the electricity bill are more on to take place this year because they won't hesitate to implement it while they still have the chance right now.
I am not sure that the government can so easily raise electricity prices after the recent events. After gas prices were doubled, massive protests and public rallies broke out in Kazakhstan, after which the entire government was sent to resign. Therefore, discontent may arise again in the country.
2435  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2022, 06:58:35 AM
I don't think this is the best time to buy bitcoin for the long term. Though there was a recent bounce from support to 32к, I would rather wait for a correction. I agree with those who say that the price is still going to fall. But in the long term we might see 100k.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What websites you use for live scores? on: February 09, 2022, 04:44:24 AM
Flashscore is probably the most popular site for those who bet on sports, because there are many different sports disciplines.
For football statistics I use whoscored.com, where you can go into detail about past matches.
2437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino KYC how it works and to what effect on: February 08, 2022, 07:39:31 PM
If the casinos do not apply strict KYC, that will make gamblers feel okay and comfortable playing in their place and maybe that can be a place for people to spend their money by playing many games.
Very true. Without KYC, there will be many people who want to visit and play gambling games on the casino sites. They must be interested to join because they are no longer needed to submit their private data to casino sites. I agree that requiring KYC is very annoying, I doubt that my private data isn't very secure to submit there. KYC sometimes ruins the happiness of playing gambling games, we feel uncomfortable because of that necessity.

I totally agree with you. KYC very often discourages many players, for example because personal data can fall into unreliable hands or government agencies. In the former case, you may be robbed or your data may be used for bad purposes. In the second case, you will have to pay a tax, which in many countries is very high. India, for example, has imposed a 30% tax on cryptocurrencies, as well as gambling.

2439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: February 06, 2022, 05:29:47 PM
I would choose the following indicators for online casinos:

1. Low fees for withdrawing money from the site.
2. bonuses on deposits.
3. Security of the site at the same time without the need for KYC.
4. Quick responses from technical customer support.
5. Large number of different ways to pay with cryptocurrency.
2440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: February 06, 2022, 03:56:59 PM
I hope Atletico Madrid win today. Barcelona haven't been very confident this season, although the same can be said of Atletico. I hope that Atletico will at least level the score in the second half. Maybe it will be something like yesterday's Milan game, when Milan got the win in the second half. In my opinion chances to win are the same.
