My picks for tonight.

Chicago Bulls vs Boston Celtics(-3,5) = Boston Celtics Win 1,65 Odds

Los Angeles Clippers(-0,5) vs Utah Jazz = First Quarter Win 1,81 Odds

Good luck guys.

I like your Boston Celtics, although the actual spread at -5.5, I think still is good enough value for banking on the Boston Celtics, especially with Marcus Smart back in the squad, It can't get any easier to want choose to place a bet on.

I like the Heat against the Timberwolves, I think the Heat +9.5 Odds is really great as well, I know the Heat are still short manned, but they really aren't that bad, tbvh.

~snip
Nobody expected England to score 6, not even their most trusted supporters, that is just not the way England plays big competitions. It all went their way today and they couldn't have asked for better start after all the disappointments in Nations League.

agree on this, I am in Footium group with mostly Brits in, and nobody predicted 6:2, from mere 200 entries, two 5:1 and all others more reasonable 3,4:0, with few going for draws
but this is on Iran as well, they are really bad, and USA would be a good test (Wales also seems lousy tonight)

so far, not being good at predictions, expecting more from underdogs, if they cannot show anything on first round, in different climate, they will just slide in other rounds, guessing most zero point squads in WC's lately this time

I actually thought I've over played my hand with going for predicting England 3-0 win, because Iran have been a highly defensive team in most competition even without scoring many goals themselves, they still usually managed to keep the damage minimal when they're on the losing side.

I had 3 close results so far, story of my life. Still, a decent start overall that puts me in 17th place.
No big surprises have happened so far, I don't expect any tomorrow as well. 4 games, will be a fun day.

I'm curious to see how Denmark will line up - I have them as one of the dark horses.

Just 1 close result for me and result in 4 games, I really never imagined I had Qatar to win over Ecuador, and I was very convinced I had it the other way  round, until I checked the pool.

I don't think Denmark are one of the dark horses to be honest, I rate them quite highly, I think I'll have them finish ahead of France in their group, if the match between both of them will be the determining factor, I don't expect them to drop by any standard below what they displayed in the qualifiers.

Except they get Argentina in the next phase, I see them getting to the Quarter finals almost hassle-free.

Still, a part of the stuff I read were the allegations of Qatar bribing Ecuador to lose the match, and yet the score is 0-2 with Ecuador winning. Not bad so far, at least the match-fixing allegation didn't get confirmed.
Congrats to everyone who got this one right, and good luck with the future predictions to us all!

You are right, at least the match-fixing allegations have not been confirmed. I'm also curious to see how the tournament develops and whether the fans in Qatar (but also all over the world) will really get into the typical "World Cup spirit". Due to the large amount of criticism before the tournament and the sometimes bizarre rules of the host country, that won't be easy, I guess. But we will see.

In addition, it's pretty obvious that the Qatar team has so far been clearly outclassed by Ecuador. A little surprising, as the Qatar team was highly praised in the run-up to the World Cup.

I just hoped those parties with the initial allegations of matches fixation can finally bury their miserable heads in shame, but their several wrong conceptions and general controversies about every other aspect that surrounds football and it's socialization that are barred way too late and it's almost like a premeditated actions given how close those new restrictions were put in place despite the heavy advertisement.

FIFA updating its fantasy game rules two days before the start ain't perfect, to say the least. We did get some clarification on the wildcard and captaincy rules, which were needed given how badly worded they were, still are.

I think i'm almost there with my team for MD1, just a few close calls to decide tomorrow, bear no further rule changes/surprises.  Cheesy
Are you aware that per current rules it should be possible to activate wildcard as soon as MD2 begins and use it for all the transfers, then use it again before MD2 finishes to remove all the players that played and keep their points while actually taking your pick of players for GW3. So with one wildcard we actually have free transfers all the way to quarter finals. Stupid, right?

I really don't know this until I just read your post, some of the rules a very terribly worded or explained, I really want to be very sure about this and it's not just another mistake from their end because, If there are some pretty cheap games towards the end of MD2 and worthy for MD3, I will definitely go that route of Wild Carding in MD2 with that approach, because that's having an advantage of 11 additional players points for that game day, but I'd like to be sure if it's that how FIFA actually meant about it, what about the captaincy too ? will the captaincy double points remain too ? and I don't even know if more than one chip can be used in a single MD.

Does anyone have better interpretation of these rules or some other website with better explanations, please ? And we are actually just less than 15 hours away  Angry
2426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar bribed 8 players from Ecuador for the opening match on: November 20, 2022, 12:33:25 AM
Match fixes are quite common with that and there is even a documentary about it in Netflix, so you just know that if they have that they have substantial evidence with how corrupt it is in general. Having it titled as FIFA uncovered, it already says, corrupt I think. Lol
They are quite common but I don't believe with such a high profile event such as this one that only occurs every 4 years it happening.
If there is any corruption then I would assume the proper actions would be taken if there is any clear evidence of colluding with match fixing for the host.

The odds were 3.25x earlier today for Qatar but last I looked they have been increasing by 0.10x every so often.
So I don't think people are buying into the news of anything like this is actually happening. Especially for the very first match of the tournament.

I really don't think people are buying it and they shouldn't either, I'm sure there are even be bigger parties (like odds maker) at play that would put even more than that on the one the line to get a fair tournament.

As I always say, that these days the bigger the event the lesser the chances of it being fixed, perhaps I'm just that naive. If they're able to buy their way against Ecuador, and it's probably easier for some people to believe for such simply because how they probably rate the Ecuador team, I mean no disrespect to the aforementioned team and theirs, but would the story and amount in question if they were playing against a team like Brazil, Engalnd or France where most of their players are earning close or more than what each of those supposedly bribed players would have gotten from that money in less than a month at their various clubs.

I can't really see him as a manger either and I don't think he'd make a good pundit  Grin.
Great players rarely make good managers; he may end up as a pundit on Sky Sports, which is full with controversial ex-players.

He's not really a good talker though so I can't see him as a pundit. The money isn't good either. Maybe he will do one off things but being a pundit almost certainly isn't where he will end up.

He has already made it plain that he would retire if Portugal wins the world cup, he knows his time is off but he is a prideful man and refuses to admit it. At his age, he should have been enjoying football in America or China for a large salary, but the GOAT thing has ruined him. He enjoys fashion, but I doubt he'd pursue modeling. However, he thinks coaching is simple, so he might want to become one.

I think he'll make a terrible coach too, I like his passion and hunger for success at every given opportunity, but if he becomes a coach, I really can't see beyond a Mourinho v2.0 but with probably zero titles to show for it and it will be easier to point fingers at his players, at every chance he gets. Ronaldo right up till now still gets upset and shows it evidently if he is through on goal and teammate probably unintentionally didn't see him, and as such goes all the way for the goal opportunity in a somewhat selfish manner, at his age and experience garnered you'd expect him to be able to overlook these things occasionally but he never does, and he's barely being friends with players from his previous clubs, especially if they get to give a positive about another player for being good or the best even without making comparison with him, I think he just needs to learn a lot about being humble enough, he arguably is one of the best player to have ever graced a football pitch, and his records and numbers are there to speak for him, so I really wonder if he would have been able to handle to half the criticism that Messi have gotten over the years of Barcelona woes and his first season at PSG, especially during international duties woes too despite it being obvious that Messi actually did well in some of those tournaments but it takes more than just one player to win a trophy, I actually hate to compare both players for any reason whatsoever, because I believe they are two completely different players, but some actions are rather just not excusable.
2428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar bribed 8 players from Ecuador for the opening match on: November 19, 2022, 08:56:41 PM
It looks like Qatar bribed eight Ecuadorian players for $7.4 millions to lose the world cup opener.
If Qatar could bribe Equador for the first game, it is also likely that they bribed their way through to win the rights to host this world cup. I thought they were a really religious country with strict rules. If they really bribed their way through and made this bribe to Equador players, then they are just mere hypocrites. Bribing will not get them far since they cannot and it is impossible to give bribe to all the team that are in the world cup to represent.

I really don't believe the accusation and even if the result would turnout to be in favor of the Qataris with the 1 Nil predicted scoreline, I would still love to believe that it was just all a mere coincidence, that we all come about when making predictions and bets, I supposed there is way on the line not just for the players or team in question and $7.4 million despite being a significant some in even first world countries, in exchange for winning the match, seem way more less to the damaged and unrest that such an antics would cause to the already controversial winter-hosting of the event.

It's been quite a stressful day, way more than I anticipated to be honest, but I've just submitted my predictions too, more than half of them are fairly tricky and some I just had to guess and there is no way to have any idea whatsoever beforehand.

I like that it's actually something entirely different from what we've been accustomed too, and it make it more interesting to see how it will all go, but thanks to team Sportsbet.io for the never ceasing support to make every tournament worthwhile, and props to Trofo and Cryptofrka too for trying to handle such a lasting competition without being chanced to partake must be strenuous  Lips sealed, but that should surely increase my chances  Tongue

Good luck to everyone!

buwaytress also threaded the line a bit,
...but let's just point out he got the odds close to 300.

I'm sure he'll beat such odds if not more at some point, as he never stops, whenever I see City or Bayern lose to an odd of 20 or more, he is the first person that comes to mind that would have made something off it.
2430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 19, 2022, 04:25:09 PM

Bam Adebayo is questionable to play.
Washington Wizards vs Miami Heat - Heat -1.5 @2.07 - Wizards are strong but let's see what they can do against a defensive team like Miami.

I'll be tailing this pick, I like the heat on the road and the spread is very low so it will likely be covered if they'll win. Even if Bam will not play, I guess Heat can handle the Wizards, besides, their home wins record is not that impressive.
Too bad. Just a one-point game in overtime. But that was truly entertaining. Only 7 players played for the Miami Heat and with Lowry leading them. They still made it a good match against the Wizards.
The bet was a trap maybe that is why the odds are somehow questionable.
@Harkorede was right, it's not just Bam. But the spread was not +6.5 when I locked my bet. Maybe I did it too early.

1/2 early bets. The Pacers won and covered the -5.5 spread. Heat loss.
1/1 live bet Phoenix Suns +4.5 - Lucky! Jazz won with 1 point.
I didn't get the chance to bet for the Warriors as I was waiting for the Knicks to take the lead and cut the spreads. It never happened.  Cheesy

Yes, but those who took the bet late for Miami Heat to cover the spread would have been lucky, Miami Heat surprisingly started the game in a very solid manner and took a pretty decent lead with as many as 15 points going at almost halftime, Kyle Lowry was doing in it all, from 10 rebound to the 15 assists and even putting 24 points on the board, I felt the win was locked for Heat at some point, ngl. It just got too much of a burden for him alone to put up with, and with the help, that win wouldn't have just slipped through their fingers like it did, it must have been some hard loss to swallow for him, looking at the work rate and efforts he put in for those 50+ minutes of play!

@Trofo and @icopress thanks!

I got the notifications as well, I'm trying to focus on surviving the series of bloodbath with my NBA bets recently for tonight, I'll definitely put in my answers in tomorrow, there still so many uncertainties with FIFA, especially the Fantasy, some players that have been listed since each teams made their listed on 14th are still missing so I'm expecting full update by tomorrow, and I'll be sure with who and/or what I'm going with.

I think I'll oppose and bet against the Heat for now, they're not that consistent yet and will just ride with the Wizards that have established their team this season. I'll just bet for that game tomorrow live.

Anyway, here are my early picks.
Boston -2.5 @ 1.91 vs NOP
Knicks vs Warriors -7 @ 1.94

I really don't know what has happened since the line of Heat vs Washington Wizards open, but the Miami are currently a +6.5 Underdog and over 3.00 Odds value on ML, I really doubt it's down to only Bam Adebayo's unavailability, I suspect there are much more information to look out for about this match up.

That said, I'm also a fan of Boston Celtics tonight against the Pelicans, I doubt that Marcus Smart would be fit enough, but I think the Boston Celtics will still win the game regardless of that.

Warriors are quite a mess right, I don't know if it's out of narcissism, or it's the team's camp issue like it is with the Nets, so I'm leaning towards +8.5 for the New York Knicks as well  in that matchup.
2433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 18, 2022, 01:54:47 AM

I guess we are all hammering the Blazers spread/ml today, and i can't find a reason why not to, it just feels right.

Everyone on Twitter is making fun of BKN and if they can keep the Blazers under 150 points lol, after what SAC did to them the other day.

KD dissin' teammates is not helping either. I can't see anything else than a comfy win for Portland.

Shit happens! We win some, we lose some, I guess the work load was eventually to much for Dinwiddie and he folded! I wish morvillz7z had won his bet, just one more 3pt was what he needed and he just made 1/9 3pt attempt.

Annoying he didn't make at least one more since most of those were wide-open practice type 3s, of course, the one that he made was highly contested. lol

I see the bandwagon on Portland Trailblazers ML and spread truly and It's tempting not to want to hop in on it, honestly, but I've got other ideas, for my bet tonight, just a double on the first quarters and halves.

We'll know KD would keep it 100% real, if has to say something he'd say it without remorse or not expressing himself well enough, maybe that could really be a wake up call for his teammates, hopefully...

I said even before the start of the season he would have left if he could have got a contract sorted out in time before the transfer window closed and it looked like both him and Man U would have preferred that but it just didn't happen as there's few clubs who can afford his wages. I'm sure he'll go in the next window though. He's kind of forced their hand now so they'll probably let him go at a cut rate or even a loss especially if they would just be benching him otherwise. I think the window opens on the first of Jan so with the World Cup happening in a few days I'm sure his agent will be busy behind the scenes trying to get a deal done.

I'm even thinking of a mutually terminated contract ? That could work too, probably the best case scenario imho, since he's bound to leave freely next summer right ? I guess that could be the best option for Man United, because I'm sure any team willing to get Ronaldo now would try not pay any type of transfer fee given his enormous wages and the circumstances surrounding both parties, and benching Ronaldo all season long would affect both parties too, because Ronaldo would have to get paid regardless, but himself not playing any competitive game for more than 6 months would it's adverse effect on him too.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 17, 2022, 08:31:00 PM
You simply can't talk such things when you're still part of club, it's just not professional. And what he said about Garry Neville and especially Rooney just because they criticize him looked so bad. They can't criticize you just because they were your teammates?
I don't believe that MU can terminate contract after this interview. I read that Ronaldo may get £1 million penalty from club, it's something like 2 weeks wage for him.
And I'm sure that there is still plenty of clubs who still would like to have Ronaldo, they just don't have that much money. What isn't allowed for other players is OK for Ronaldo.

Terminating him would cost Manchester United a fortune, but the two weeks' salary penalty (the FA's maximum punishment for a player) plus him sitting on the bench until he finds a new club would suffice. No serious club would want him in their dressing room after what has happened with him, his performance has diminished, he would only be valuable to clubs who want him for business interests.

I don't think there is any way back for both parties from this outburst, I think Ronaldo knew exactly what he was doing and waited for the World Cup Break before having the interview and going against all those that have at some point rated him as the best player in the history of football simply because he won't bring himself to admit that there's been a decline in his performance and age is eventually catching up with him, I believe these are those times when you just need to keep quite and try to up your game and prove them wrong, everyone have been at the stage at one point or the other and Ronaldo ego makes him believe he is immune to critics, and his antics even when on the pitch shows all he's about is just his goals and not the team at large, so he's fine with calling people out and referring to his personal accolades but wouldn't accept he's no longer that person.

Even though Christopher Nkunku has unfortunately been injured at short notice, the French squad is still nominally the strongest (IMHO). Just look at the strikers. It doesn't get much better than this:

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Kingsley Coman (Bayern München), Ousmane Dembele (FC Barcelona), Olivier Giroud (AC Mailand), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) and ofc Kylian Mbappe (Paris St. Germain)

I think having this much of strikers might be to their own detriment, just saying though, because It could only remind me of Argentina some years ago, when they seemingly have the best strikers combination going into any tournament, but their midfield was quite a disaster and it ended up causing more harm to the team at large, I meant when Argentina were heading into those tournaments with forward lines consisting of Aguero, Higuain, Tevez, Messi, Di Maria, Diego Milito, Javier Pastore and Martin Palermo.

I guess we'll see how it all unfolds, it's just around the corner.

I lost my bets tonight. I was disappointed by the Warriors against the Suns. Even with Stephen Curry putting up 50 points it wasn’t enough to beat the Suns. The Warriors didn’t have it tonight. I also got stung by the Houston Rockets beating the Dallas Mavericks. I wasn’t aware that Luka Doncic wouldn’t be playing at the time I made that one. Only game I got right tonight was the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Orlando Magic.

Shit happens! We win some, we lose some, I guess the work load was eventually to much for Dinwiddie and he folded! I wish morvillz7z had won his bet, just one more 3pt was what he needed and he just made 1/9 3pt attempt.

I was surprise with the Warriors losing to Phoenix, with CP3 too, It just showed the chemistry that exist deep into their into their roster, I suppose.
