I am getting password doesn't match recipient errors when trying to run one vm on the pool and the other solo...

apparently you can either do one or the other? So If I wanted to pool AND solo, I would have to move my solo to separate wallet, right?

dang.

a guy sell at 900 ! crazy guy !!!!!

I accidentally sold 50k at 900, I didn't think the price would hit there overnight, and I had that sell order up from a long time ago and hadn't taken it down... that'll teach me!

So can anyone tell me what the realistic minimum amount of drive space is needed to mine this coin?

There is no "minimum", but the less space you use, the less you will make of course, it's just like hashrate.

But, that being said, all I can do is provide you some facts from my experience....

I started relatively early mining this coin solo, my first block was number 700, or around there.

I started with around 2TB, and kept adding as much as I could.

I currently have 65 blocks mined, and a total amount of plotted space around 8TB, will be 9 when this 3TB drive finishes plotting.

I currently, with 8-9TB, mining solo, hit 2-4 blocks a day.

I am trying to add 3TB or more each week, and purchasing drives accordingly, because the way I see it, no matter what, even if the coin goes to shit, it's great to have a ton of extra storage, and the drives are always resellable.

I plan to continue solo mining until I get less than a block a day. Bearing in mind my additional space each week.

Hope this helps!

I bought some burst today. But after looking at it burst a little more it should have been made three years ago. Its actually a step backwards. But its here so its innovative, but it shouldn't get this much attention cause we have graphic cards which perform better, with better security. And nothing run by a pc is eco or more eco friendlier than another, cause its still using power plus I don't think everyone is going to turn off all there rigs.  I could go on more about viruses, hacks, and hard drive failure but I bought some so I want to make good with my purchase. But If we can get pc fans to start mining with our gpu's, hard drives, that's innovative. You might as well invest into western digital with all the new hard drive purchases esp if they make hard drives for mining like we have seen with motherboards.

I can't say I think like you do here... For me, I leave my computer on 24/7 no matter what, so having it run the hard drive miner, that doesn't take hardly any extra power at all, is essentially free mining to me.

What you're talking about with mining with fans??? I have no clue what the hell you are talking about there. That isn't ever going to be a thing. It simply doesn't make sense.

Hard drive mining is far from a step backwards, it's the most energy efficient way to mine there is.

people ARE shutting off their rigs. Many many people, ESPECIALLY GPU. Almost everyone I know that was a GPU miner, has either turned their rigs completely off, or kept a few running with nvidia cards, or kept a few running just because... but people mining for instant profit, with GPUs are pretty much completely out of the game. Mining with GPU is so power hungry compared to this hard drive mining, it's not even funny...

But yea, I'm glad you invested in the coin, but if you really feel it's a step backwards, maybe you should have checked it out BEFORE you bought...

I will gladly buy your whole stock of coins right now for 350 sats. Get you out and you can never look back.

BURST power! lol.

Really love the coin. It is one of the most promising altcoins around.

I have a couple of questions.

Has anyone built a big farm of HDD's?

How much are people currently minting per TB in 24 Hours?

The coin's amazing isn't it? Awesome.

I am currently building my "farm", Only up to about 12TB right now though. I'm getting 2-3 blocks  a day still. I plan to keep adding space at 3TB or more a week for the next few months, then hopefully keep mining solo until it gets to where I'm hardly finding anything, then i'll pool it. But yea, this coin is amazing!

So are we thinking pool v2 is working - it's just been unlucky today?
may be you just don't have enough capacity , i have already recevied 7500+ burst from the pool

Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. Wink

I'll pop on overnight then.  Last I heard this morning was a bunch of people saying it wasn't working right so I kept mining solo.  Thanks!

I'm going to try to stay solo for a few months. See how it goes, trying to add 3TB + a week.

Shipping is included.  I'll send them to you in a padded envelope.

They mine BTC at 330 mh/s

lol, neat. So they're basically just toys. They may be fun to mess with though, and for the price.

what would shipping be on 5 to Reno NV 89523? I would be willing to play with em. lol.

i'll take 5

Hey guys. I still have no hits on the multi pool.

It looks like we may just have to settle for someone in our own community, if you guys have the skills.

The bounty is currently 65k BURST. Anyone want to throw down any more?

I will throw another 5, so make my total 10k

Hello, i wont go too into depth of whats going on but my whole plan was with a few friends and it went down the drain...after i bought a couple thousand dollars worth of miners. So i have 3 zeus miners, 2 thunders(28ish mh and 900 watt) and 1 hurricane(6-10mh). One of the thunders only mines at 20ish mhs, the middle fan doesnt work so i think a chip is out. I contacted zeus 3 times and got no replies and with everyting else going on im just over it at this point. So i am selling them. Currently a zeus thunder 450 watt 20mh is 476 and the thunder 980 watt 40mh is 979 so id like to sell the good one inbetween there. The gimpy one OBO. The hurricane is selling at 244, i can do it for like 150. I also have the power supplies from frys, i made sure to get good ones so they wouldnt shit out on me. I can pm you the details of them too. If youre interested just message me, i want to get rid of them asap. thanks

if you wanna get rid of them that bad, the prices are gonna have to be really low.

It looks like the guy with the 1btc sell order at 400 SATs cancelled the order and dumped it.

That's great news. Weak hands are a shakin'

as I move my little quarter btc buy order to 307 sats. someone come dump into me!

What do these mine at? They're BTC? what's the hashrate?
2477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | Update to 1.0.2 before block 2700 on: August 29, 2014, 07:19:23 PM

Nothing is wrong.Your setup is fine and yes you are mining.
The target Deadline is 50K.

So, instead of an extremely accessible Deadline which would make more people (as in, everyone) have valid shares, this "pool" is following the path of elitism already.
Go figure, I thought the whole point of "decentralisation" would be to allow more people to get at least something back.
But no, this altcrap pool is starting right off the bat favouring the 1%, AND taking a 2% fee.

You're doing it wrong.

I tend to agree that the deadline cutoff is a little restrictive. With almost 2TB on the pool, I usually get a couple/few shares in per block found. I imagine someone who wants to mine from a 500GB laptop or even smaller would sometimes not get any shares in for a found block. Deadline cutoff should be higher, and maybe tied to difficulty so it remains roughly the same over time (i.e. same proportion of shares accepted). Still waiting to see the v2 pool and see how it looks/works.

I'm certain V2 will contain many upgrades, and make more people happy.

I hadn't found any blocks in quite a while, then found two almost back to back! woohoo!

BURST power!

Thank you for your comments "armin22"

All communication between the buyer and me has been record. Proof of My address, ownership of items, working items, packaging and shipping (including tracking) have been record and provided to the buyer.

"NO escrow" does not always guarantee what you have stated, but escrow is always welcome for any transaction.

If you quit being a little boy and started reading, you'd notice i said "high chance"

It was pretty uncouth to shit in the guys thread like that.

He's straight up from my experience with him.

He is most definitely straight up, he was very straight forward, provided pics, etc. A great member of the community. I will most likely do more business with him, and wouldn't think twice about sending payment first just like I did last time without escrow. He is a real benefit to the community here.

Only found 1 block yesterday, then I realized... I had over guessed the number of nonces to plot...

and WHEN YOU DO THAT IT ERASES THE PLOT AND STARTS OVER!!!

so make sure you calculate the number of nonces correctly, or you'll be re-plotting 2TB like I am now. (facepalm)

How do you mean that " I had over guessed the number of nonces to plot... "
Sorry for bad english.

What I mean is... I set the number too high, and when it got to the end, and the drive was full, but due to my dumb-(ness?) instead of stopping, it started over, and re-plotted the same space it just did.

Because of this, I would now suggest that people do a bunch of smaller plots, as opposed to one large one. Just a thought.
