2461  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a value reserve? on: May 14, 2019, 04:54:59 AM

The idea that Bitcoin can change the world is for me an overstretch already. Certainly, Bitcoin is very valuable both as a currency and a store of value and we are seeing it now in terms of price and adoption. Certainly, Bitcoin can be bringing in many changes especially in the world of finance and economics and we are going to experience these innovations as years roll by. Bitcoin just like the fiat money can be a big tool for change but changing the world can take a lot of time, effort, money and the cooperation of the people and those holding in the power in the government. It would be safe to say that Bitcoin can contribute to many changes...but expecting that this can be the one to make it alone may not be true.
2462  Economy / Economics / Re: Why can't we have a good cryptocurrency exchange? on: May 14, 2019, 04:20:52 AM

In the market, we are enjoying a long list of famous and not-so-famous cryptocurrency exchanges big and small. Of course, we have Binance which is now considered to be the leader of the industry but we also have like Kucoin, Bittrex, Okex and even decentralized exchanges all competing for our money, attention and loyalty. The recent Binance hack should not stop us from exploring the nooks and crannies of the cryptocurrency industry. That hack is a big lesson for security as there is virtually nothing that can be safe these days...hackers are always ahead of the game and it is just a matter of when they will pull on their punch on an exchange and this is the reason why exchanges have to be always careful and hack-proof all side of the parameter without sacrificing function and good user experience.
2463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: altcoin growth too slow? on: May 14, 2019, 03:55:03 AM
when i compare the markets with the bullish trend years ago i get a bit confused. the growth always came along with bitcoin but when i see the altcoin today the growth is a bit (how i might say that...?) ridiculous...will this change or will the volume still be so low? 24hr highs and lows variated between dollars back in the day at 100m coins but today it grows a few 0,x1-3 at a btc pump and then everything is falling apart back at one little red day. the altcoin market feels a bit like a sick patient to me that trys to get revived by a lot of effort but every little stop its dieing again...

I have a different perception about that. I just see altcoin as a people that still waiting in the queue and after bitcoin bullish will have stopped and then that should be the time for altcoin. People are putting their money to bitcoin and it's not USDT holders only but altcoin holders too were trying to take the same chance as what did by USDT holders. When bitcoin gets stable and they will stop it and then move it back to the altcoin and this is the old cycle of bitcoin.

The current upsurge movement of Bitcoin is not directly affecting the altcoins to the dismay of the many who are expecting that Bitcoin will also be pulling the other coins and tokens up. As of now, people are more focused on Bitcoin and maybe because as of now we don't have the same volume of trading that we saw in 2017 and early 2018. Now, maybe this is just a matter of time as soon the energy and enthusiasm of Bitcoin can spillover into the other cryptocurrencies as well.  We just have to be patient altcoins will soon be moving as they should be. In investing, there is the need for money, time, focus and patience.

2465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Portfolio Strategy for Beginners: 100% Simple, Safe and Effective on: May 14, 2019, 03:00:31 AM

I find the three -- Bitcoin, EOS and BNB -- to be very safe when it comes to cryptocurrency investing. I am sure that if anyone will be following this strategy the chance for good profits is quite enhanced. Newbies are advised not to go with new projects as the risks can be quite so high. Of course, we have to understand that there is nothing guaranteed here...any investor should always do his own due diligence before deciding on what to invest with and this is true whether you are in crypto, forex or even in real estate.
2466  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-14] BTC tops $8,000 highest since July 2018 on: May 14, 2019, 02:36:00 AM

Bitcoin surged to more than $8,000 late on Monday, its highest level since July last year, as the cryptocurrency's rally gained further momentum. There is no real fundamental explanation as to why bitcoin, the original cryptocurrency, hit a 10-month high on Monday.

But there is an ongoing blockchain and cryptocurrency conference in New York called Consensus, with big investors and influential market players gathered to network and discuss the current state of the industry. Bitcoin had also rallied during previous Consensus conferences.

Bitcoin was last up nearly 17 percent at $8,131 on the Bitstamp exchange, the largest daily percentage jump since early April. It hit a high of $8,167.50, a roughly 10-month peak.

Bitcoin news is everywhere. This piece is picked by my country's foremost news portal and this is telling us that right now even mainstream media is taking notice of the ongoing upsurge of its price. Pundits are now analyzing why it is having a bull run and they are coming up with so many reasons.

As one of the growing holders, enthusiasts and supporters, I care less the reasons as the most important thing is that the Bitcoin winter is now out and we are moving up again. Now, I am wondering if it can be possible that $10,000 be broken within this month...
2467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is eBay looking to accept cryptocurreny on its platform? on: May 13, 2019, 07:17:10 PM
eBay would be a welcome addition of a list of marketplace accepting cryptocurrency. Certainly, this can be a big boost most especially to Bitcoin though it remains to be seen if there can be a good volume of business that cryptocurrency can command. Now, we are also hoping that after eBay it would be Amazon which can take notice and be enticed to join the Bitcoin club. As they say, the more the merrier and in the quest for massive cryptocurrency adoption, this bit of news is offering hope and possibility for that vision.
2468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Whales May Be Behind The Current Bitcoin Surge on: May 13, 2019, 07:10:50 PM

People like me don't actually care too much if this spike is because whales are manipulating the market...the most important thing is that it is rising and would soon be breaching the $10,000 level. Now, if whales will suddenly sell their Bitcoin and the price will drop dramatically then I would also be happy because that can be an opportunity to buy low. Whales or not, we are all part of this market and anything we do or don't do with our Bitcoin can affect its price. Now, I am wondering, what should we do then since we know that whales are doing it?
2469  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DIMCOIN is SCAM (Currently doing multiple ICOs) on: May 13, 2019, 01:54:57 PM

Quote

Personally I was never impressed with the Dimcoin team or Dimcoin itself but I stopped short of calling them a scam, I preferred to refer of them as lazy instead because like other projects they were highly active when seeking ICO investment but their development since the ICO ended is not exactly impressive. The moment you make a post questioning their progress on their official thread, several supporters decide to post die-hard supportive messages backing up Dimcoin and its team rather than look at the actual issue. From what I see you have received your tokens so that is a good thing. As for them being a scam, I still doubt they are but let it play out and see what happens in future.

This is one of the best projects I supported in 2017 but up to now it is not yet clear if they are following the published roadmap. There are updates from time to time but I think they are very much behind with the schedule. I am not so sure what is happening with the hybrid exchange they should have established. I am still believing on them and I am hoping that soon they can fast-track their accomplishments. DIM can be a good project and if the team behind can move fast and professionally this has a good potential to be a good platform.

2470  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Litigation with Binance - jurisdiction, regulators on: May 13, 2019, 01:21:04 PM
I think that Binance is Hong Kong based, I don't remember. I don't understand what are you trying to say with your post. Are you scammed by binance?Do you want to sue them? Is this case connected with the recent Binance hack?

This has nothing to do with the recent hack where nobody actually money in there except Binance itself. OP is talking about an event that occurred about 8 months ago where someone lost 80,000 USDT. The details are not quite clear but as he stated there is no recourse but to go to court and the question is the jurisdiction of Binance. Isn't it already headquarter in Malta right now?
2471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEW Crypto Movie: Satoshi 11 on: May 13, 2019, 01:05:32 PM
Think: Ocean's 11 meets The Producers (further think: Springtime for Hitler).

Plot: A person claiming to be Satoshi recruits 11 renowned cryptoers in forming a company designed to conduct the world's largest ICO (in excess of $10B), whereupon once the moneys' raised, they exit scam, but the project takes on a life of its own where the scammers are forced to see the project to fruition in hopes of even a larger payday while the SEC et al. are on their heels.

Thoughts.

Instead of an ICO, it would be more believable if IEO is conducted in one of the best and top crypto exchange of the world convincing the top honchos that the project is very legit and must be supported while at the same time silencing (or killing) some people who know the truth of the matter. There should be a figure coming from SEC who is handsome and so charismatic and he will be the one conducting the investigation and uncovering the whole truth...and in the end this guy will almost be killed by the 11 renowned cryptoers.
2472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: My MEW wallet hacked... please help me on: May 13, 2019, 11:13:03 AM
This is not a Meta problem so please move this to "Investigations" board as the issue seems more appropriate there. Regarding your coins, I don't think you will be able to recover it since it is already gone and you can't get them unless the hacker sends back (which is hard to happen anyway). I would suggest to check for virus or malwares inside your system so that it doesn't happens next time.

The same thing happened to me in 2017 and it was a phishing strategy that did me in. Now, as to the tokens or coins already transferred to another wallet, it would really be impossible to get them back. The best thing to do is to move on and learn from the incident so that it can never happen again to the victim. Sadly, this is the reality we are in. Once it is gone, it is gone. We have to remember what happened to Binance which became helpless as the stolen cryptocurrency are transferred to new addresses. Cryptocurrency can be dangerous if we are not careful.
2473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IEO Launchpad BOUNTY on: May 13, 2019, 11:08:28 AM

Doing an IEO does not automatically mean that the project will not be doing any bounty here because I have seen some and they are doing good so far. We know that IEO is just an ICO but the little difference is that it is done in partnership with an exchange which can be a big advantage to token buyers or investors as the tokens can be easily be sold or traded. People are trusting that the exchange for the launch is doing its vetting process before allowing the project to use the platform. Now, if this expectation can never be meet then we can have a big problem. I will soon be joining two bounties and they will be be doing their IEO soon.
2474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Little dip in bitcoin market, will it be recovered reach 10k on: May 13, 2019, 10:57:48 AM
Most of us are expecting it to reach $10k this year. But we don't really know when would it reach it but I think it is really possible to reach it before this year ends.

In my crystal ball, there is a 65% chance that Bitcoin can exceed the $10,000 level within this year or at least before 2019 can say goodbye. That is assuming that there will no big negative developments that can affect its continuing upward trend. Now, does it mean that in 2020 we can expect Bitcoin to fight its way towards $20,000? Well, that can be possible but I am always preferring a little slow but steady upward movement rather than a sudden pump which can also later on produce a sudden dump. There is no question, this is the Bitcoin moment as it is sucking almost all the energy and excitement in the marketplace even to the detriment of many altcoins.
2475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make a secure Cryptocurrency for next generation on: May 13, 2019, 10:51:58 AM

Scams in the world of cryptocurrency are telling us how decentralization and anonymity can be abused to the detriment of the people who supported and believed in a project. In late 2017 and into 2018, scams in forms of ICOs came around and many investors (including me actually) were left with their hands holding empty bags. So what are the things we can do about this problem. There should be an investigative or vetting body that can look at these projects and issue some good analysis on the possible threats and opportunities that a project presents. I agree that this can be difficult in today's cryptocurrency marketplace but if nothing can be done about these scams we could not expect that there will be an abundance of trust and confidence from the people.
2476  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Now Streaming on Amazon Prime Video: RIZQI PRESENTS BLOCKCHAIN on: May 13, 2019, 09:34:48 AM
What is the chances of this being shown on Netflix too? Currently Netflix users are growing phenomenally and it would be great if something like this could be viewed on a platform with that amount of registered viewers. Wink I am not subscribed to Amazon Video, but I will subscribe soon just to watch this. Paying annual Prime Membership of $99 is not too much for quality content.  Cheesy Thanks for posting this OP.  Wink

There is a bigger audience waiting if this can be shown in Netflix though getting there can be difficult as there is a strict vetting process. However, there are now many venues that one can use to deliver the product to intended audience. I am always thankful of people who have the vision to do something about Bitcoin and make it reachable by the masses. This may not be making a very big contribution towards more Bitcoin adoption but this certainly can be helping a lot. At the end of the day, it is education that can help spread the message of the blockchain and Bitcoin to the whole world.
2477  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Haven't you thought about it? See for more on: May 13, 2019, 09:19:25 AM
Although, pawnshops is not popular in the area where I live and pawnshops accepting Bitcoin payment will definitely boost the price the price of Bitcoin in the market but I personally don't see any reason why I l make use of pawnshops when I can get everything I wanted through an online crypto store which you presume.

Bitcoin price won't skyrocket if there is a new shop that says they accept Bitcoin. Just like what you said: there is no reason to use them if you can buy it online. So to reach a point where new shop accepting Bitcoin can increase the price, the shop must be massive and there are a lot of users who would love to use Bitcoin instead of their usual fiat payment. I personally only use Bitcoin to pay for my Mega subscription.

Maybe it can be better if the pawnshop will be using Bitcoin for its customers instead of the usual fiat money. This means that anybody can bring anything of value (like jewelries, watches and maybe even appliances) to be pawned and instead of getting fiat it will be Bitcoin that one can receive. Or the pawnshop can also offer Bitcoin both buying and selling in the premises. I am not sure though if there can be special permit for this type of business.  The possibilities can be endless the only problem is if there can be a market for this and whether it can be sustainable.
2478  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain - based Health Care Services on: May 13, 2019, 08:49:20 AM

Just looking at the website, the projects seems to be attractive. Is this also planning to do its crowdsale in an exchange or IEO? Healthcare is an area which the blockchain can do many things and with a good team behind a good project can be a blessing to many of its supporters and believers.

"Afrihealth is aiming to be the complete healthcare in one click: Availing best-in-class healthcare was never so easy. With AfriHealth, embrace the future of healthcare today. From buying health insurance to ordering medicines or seeking emergency support, everything is under your fingertip."

And with that statement, AfriHealth can set the new standard in healthcare ailment for many millions just waiting on the fringe for the healthcare services they all deserve. Now, is the project going to be present in all African countries?
2479  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Finmail - Send Email together with Bitcoin on: May 13, 2019, 08:38:39 AM

This can be a good idea to explore. Just imagine that instead of hearing "You've got mail" it would now be "You've got Bitcoin" but then again how the market can be reacting to this alternative would be dependent on many factors. I am just wondering if this technology can be really secured especially in the face of many hacks that affected many big exchanges. How can we make sure that the email with the Bitcoin can arrive safely at its destination with the Bitcoin intact?
2480  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-13] BTC Price Uptrend Despite Recent Correction on: May 13, 2019, 08:15:03 AM

Bitcoin price rallied to a new 9-month high towards $7,500 before correcting lower against the US Dollar. The price declined below the $7,000 support level, but it found strong bids near $6,750. There is a new connecting bullish trend line forming with support at $6,940 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair (data feed from Kraken). The pair is currently in an uptrend and it is likely to climb back above $7,200 and $7,250.
Bitcoin price corrected sharply from $7,500 against the US Dollar. BTC tested key supports and it seems like it could bounce back above $7,200 in the coming sessions.

Source: https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/05/13/bitcoin-btc-price-uptrend-intact-7500/

The slight correction pull back the price of Bitcoin to the $7,000 level but according to many analysts I have read this can just be a temporary as Bitcoin might soon be going beyond the $7,500 level. I am sensing that there is a strong possibility that within this month Bitcoin can go ahead ang break the $10,000 level. Do you think it is possible?
