1461  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-23]CabbageTech Crypto Scheme Operator Pleads Guilty to Wire Fraud on: June 24, 2019, 03:28:37 AM

The whole world is full of lies and deception and unfortunately this is quite magnified with the coming of cryptocurrency because this time around it can be easier to reach to a greater number of people using the internet globally...it is no wonder why a good deceiving scheme can victimized many people in different places. I am always happy whenever I hear that someone got caught and faced the legal consequences for their acts of victimizing people...and hopefully this can be serving as a big lesson for all never to get involved with similar schemes as eventually the arms and eyes of the law can overtake them. Let's hope there will be no other Patrick McDonnell  to concoct a scheme that can jeopardize people's money and trust as well as partly destroy the image of cryptocurrency.

Then yung campaign manager is another factor. Mas magiging maayos ang takbo nila kung may nagmomonitor din sa mga kasali sa campaign nila. And for us naman na forum members who are not part of that sig campaign who noticed someone na potential spammer, ireport na lang din natin para maaksyunan.

1466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Attack on Bitcoin on: June 23, 2019, 08:21:02 AM
Somewhere, a group is preparing an attack on Bitcoin. It will come around the next big pump. The attackers will have an exponentially large advantage of computing power. If the network isn't compromised, it will be severely damaged.

Are you talking here of the supercomputers that can cracked bitcoin codes or something like that? Admittedly, I am not a technical guy but I read somewhere about this possibility. However, you can just be joking spreading baseless FUDS to scare people away from bitcoin so it can slowdown its growth trajectory for the moment and for that I must say this: nice try but never mind. A real attacker will never telegraph his moves but will keep things on tight secrets.
1467  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-22]FATF to Strengthen Control Over Crypto Exchanges to Prevent Money La on: June 23, 2019, 07:59:04 AM

The FATF — an intergovernmental organization that focuses its efforts on fighting money laundering — is planning to strengthen control over cryptocurrency exchanges to preclude digital currencies from being used in money laundering and related crimes.

This is quite expected and just like any other industry involving money and finance there can be more coming regulations which players have to follow otherwise there will be some problems. The most important thing is that cryptocurrency industry is not singled out with these strict regulations as these are also implemented even by banks and other financial intermediaries. The industry could not anymore live on an island...it has to be a part of the mainstream infrastructure and as such has to follow the rules and procedures handed down by regulators.
1468  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-21]Wall Street Analyst claims Bitcoin will blast through all-time soon on: June 23, 2019, 07:14:30 AM
Thomas Lee, Fundstrat co-founder and head of research, told CNBC that he sees Bitcoin taking out its all-time high very soon.

“Well, you know I think bitcoin ultimately becomes a reserve currency in crypto, bitcoin at $9,000 has only been at this level in four percent of its history. We’re deep into a bull market and people are pretty silent about it. I think bitcoin is easily going to take out its all-time high,” said Lee.

Well, there is actually nothing new with this latest prediction by the famous Thomas Lee. As we know, this man is one of the most optimistic of all bitcoin believers and supporters to the point that he is already bordering to be unbelievable. Still, no matter what, maybe I should be thanking the man for always drumming up more attention to bitcoin than anybody of us here...seems to me that mainstream media loves him as well.
1469  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance KYC on: June 23, 2019, 06:51:44 AM

I am not based in USA and so I am fortunate to get not required by Binance to do the KYC as long as my transactions are below the maximum allowed. Though we could not be sure if this same policy can stand in the future as more and more cryptocurrency exchanges are implementing KYC for all of their users and some countries are requiring the same. Though I am not personally against KYC, I am also concerned with the misuse of data and my privacy.

1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is like the story for the Gypsy woman and the milk on: June 22, 2019, 02:30:29 PM

Another good advice is to use a much BIGGER pot so that the milk will not be spilling over or maybe ask someone how to cook the milk properly. Just like in bitcoin or cryptocurrency education is the key. In that story, there is nothing wrong with the milk...heck she can even drink it as it is without the use of fire. Ignorance is the problem and not the milk. In the same manner, there is nothing wrong with bitcoin but we need to educate people so that they will not have wrong notions and bloated expectations -- which reminded me of the year 2017. Anyway, we can learn a lesson or two from this story and we can apply it right this year and into 2020...when bitcoin is expected to grow and grow just like the boiled milk.
1473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Malaysia approves crypto exchange registration on: June 22, 2019, 02:20:35 PM

Malaysia decided to instead ban cryptocurrency exchanges they better allow such a new industry to grow but under a strict environment and every player should be following the regulations otherwise there will be repercussions as provided by the laws of the country. Now, compared to China this might be a better condition because here the business is legal and not done underground. In comparison, one can also do the same business in USA and also under the strict regulations and limitations. I have nothing against so much with the regulations in place because there had been some exchanges which victimized innocent people and so a filtering process should be in place...and this is not just specific with cryptocurrency business actually but also with other entities involved with investment products. Any exchange who desires to do business in any country should pass the eyes of the needle and must always be on their best shape otherwise regulators will do their job of making things more difficult. Everything is a test.

Unfortunately, the Nestree app stopped from functioning whenever I touch the button where the phone number should be inputted. Why is this acting like that?
1475  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some not so obvious things that damage a country's economy? on: June 22, 2019, 07:23:44 AM

Policies and implementation of those policies can have greater effect on the economy of any country that is why when people are electing people or leaders who lack the vision for the long-term and are only thinking of their own political survival the country can experience more imbalance and problems instead of gaining more solutions for the problems at hand and preventing them from occurring into the future. Many voters are more prone to elect popular candidates and listen to easy-to-say political rhetoric that can satisfy their own needs...but when leaders do lack the political will to do the right things to do then we will have big problems.

Right now, there is a big trend of other cultures getting into other countries and changing its basic structure. This is not good as many countries can slowly lose their own identities and will not anymore value what they got based on their own history and traditions. Western influence are creeping in as brought by the very influential entertainment media relaxing the norms all placed by centuries. And then we assumed that Western values are advanced and better...when in fact they are not but corrupt and can lead to moral decay.
1476  Economy / Economics / Re: Hong kong and China war can lead to possible Bitcoin popularity on: June 22, 2019, 07:10:09 AM

Time is coming when Hong Kong will be under the full control of China when the 50-year provision will expire in 2047 though I am sure that by that time Hong Kong will negotiate for a better and acceptable deal with the mainland. There will be no war in between the two countries as not one can afford the ill-effects it can inflict to their economies...these days there will be threats of war but most are just rhetoric as no country is really serious in causing such a conflagration. With this latest development in Hong Kong which caused an increased interest with bitcoin, this is just another confirmation of how bitcoin can playing a good store of value even much better and more accessible than the physical gold.

1478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 🔴 Time to BOYCOTT ALL Advertisers & Conferences associated with FakeSatoshi 🔴 on: June 22, 2019, 03:33:17 AM

This is a good move and I admire Bruno Kucinskas (aka Phinnaeus Gage) for this initiative of starting a movement via a boycott that can hopefully send a good message to people or entities that somehow supported personalities like Craig Wright and similar others. I am wishing that this can snowball into an avalanche. However, while we should be idealistic the fact is that we are living on reality. These people are living on controversies and in fact they are cultivating more controversies so they are always on the limelight...attracting the kind of attention they are planning in the first place...and the media and a critical number of people love to consume controversies too and they are lending their ears to controversial people. In the age of marketing and information, the one who can command attention (or listening time) from people always win. It is no wonder why there are those who are advocating just to ignore these people so that we are not adding more fuel to the fire though there are those (just like Bruno here) who think that silence is not the best option. Well, as for me, I definitely against people like Craig Wright and his minions as I am convinced they are cancer to the cryptocurrency movement but individually there are limitations I can not do against with. I am so willing to sign any petition though as I am also willing to test the waters.

1480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto Apparent Author of Two Upcoming Books on Amazon on: June 21, 2019, 03:40:11 PM

This is going to be funny but I think someone beat us in monetizing the Satoshi Nakamoto craze. I am wondering is the name Satoshi Nakamoto already copyrighted? If not, then that explains why the real author of those two books used the famous name. This can be another minor marketing coup for the guy...so let's all just pretend that we are approving of him appropriating the name of the bitcoin founder. Anyway, I think those are two good books actually judging on the covers, the presentation and the description.
