2461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DGC] DigitalCoin.Co || Instant | Stable | Reliable || LAUNCHED on: May 20, 2013, 09:19:58 PM
I had to switch my pool over to a new IP:

http://54.227.253.120:9500/static/

Sorry for any inconvenience
Only cost me 2 hours of mining on a new coin cause I went back to bed.

P2Pools are faster for some. http://next.afraid.org:8119/static/ works well.

These p2pools still aren't talking to each other.

Deepest apologies drop me your DGC address and I'll send you a block's worth
DC22wGs3Fj9x59FkPa7Ms9dshQoFVvazo4 always appreciated, I never seem to have a good run with the early hours of a new coin when the difficulty is lowest, always something seems to go wrong. I don't have the hash power to make up for it later.

Are the p2pools talking to each other? It seems the local rate is higher than the pool rate on http://107.20.222.119:9500

Been mining with just one 7950 for 1hr 40min, not a single coin.
Might go to bed a write it off as another waste of electricity.

until a time where a dev can figure out how to start with diff 1 or greater, all launches will just fail like this one.

A few people will suck up all the coins the rest will get little or nothing.
Well the people with a stack of coins already should stop and take a 10min break let some spread around.

Well somebody must be getting the coins if we are up over block 4000 in less than an hour.

I see launch time was changed.

The launch was at 10AM GMT.

Couldn't get the source to compile on my Mac, something about not being able to find obj/build.h

Why does this coin even exist when it's obviously just trying to cash in on the success of WDC?

Hypocritical much? You can pretty much say the same for any Litecoin clone.
If you don't know the difference between LTC and WDC I can't help you, there are countless threads on it.

If you look at the block time and difficulty reset times on DigitalCoin you will see that it's almost identical to WDC which are nothing like LTC times.

The guys a troll, ignore.

2471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Worldcoin exchange @ mcxNOW on: May 20, 2013, 07:13:22 AM
Thats all good and all that.

I do like it how it says that WDC aims to be better than bitcoins, but so far on that site you can only buy WDCs with bitcoins, hopefully they allow for USD transactions as well.

It's not a matter of allow, it's a whole new ballgame if you are going to trade in fiat, opens up a can of worms and all sorts of legal compliance issues depending on where you are.

Yup it's there:

Only if the creator throws some of those hundreds of thousands of premine to them.

Another FUD troll with the premine claim.

When was WDC block #1 mined?

Time: 1368504801 (2013-05-14 04:13:21)

Same morning WDC announced on these forums?

No premine.

Yep, I believe you. What was the reward on those first blocks?

It says right there, 1st block 50, 2nd block 32.
The genesis block 0 hasn't been redeemed.

Will WDC meet the same problems as FTC/TRC as to high Diff?

just putting it out there
TRC and FTC have different problems, I suggest you look into each before asking such a general question. When it comes to difficulty adjustments the two are extreme opposites. TRC adjusts ever 30 blocks FTC every 504 (was 2016)

I agree please stop it.
2478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets say someone had One hundred thousand dollars. on: May 20, 2013, 04:49:53 AM
So im curious what would happen if someone bought up at one point a hundred thousand dollars worth of WDC, YAC, LTC, etc. etc. Which would be most effected and would that be considered something of a ¨Pump and Dump¨? Im particularly interested in how Yacoin might respond to such activity.
WDC is not on an exchange so that's going to be pointless. LTC is too strong, $100k is a drop in the ocean for it. YAC maybe, FTC or CNC in a few weeks time when the difficulty rate improves, as has been mentioned, these kind of pumps go on daily on BTC-e with PPC, NMC, TRC etc. not all on the same day of course.

2479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Critical Update] Feathercoin 0.6.4 - Hard Fork at block 33,000 on: May 20, 2013, 04:45:14 AM

Remember, you'll need to find some sucker to buy them off you as well. Good luck with that.
There is no shortage of FTC trades on BTC-e.

I was referring to profitable trades.

That's a function of mining difficulty more so than just price. Atm you would be mad selling any FTC you mined whilst the difficulty was, high, in fact you couldn't as it hasn't had 120 confirmations yet if it was mined in the last week or so. Most of the people mining today are just trying to push the blocks to 33,000 to trigger the new difficulty, I am sure the know the coins are not profitable at the current price.

2480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WDC Network hashrate at 1.4 G/s now! on: May 20, 2013, 04:17:58 AM
Don't get your hopes too high.  Check out what happened to YAC on BTER.  It is trading for 1/3 where it transacted on bitcointalk
Yeah but that's all YAC deserved, it brings nothing new to the table aside from being hard to mine with anything but a CPU, all inward focused stuff for miners. WDC on the other hand offers the best transaction speed out there on a none experimental coin, that's a hot feature for trade/merchants, not just miners, and that make it worth something.
