2481  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: March 19, 2015, 06:43:58 PM
Got my first time payout Smiley

Anyway, question!
Why I need to point the payout to address on bit-x, while you send them through normal transaction?
What wwould happen if I changed it into my normal address?
I think Bitx is trying to encourage those enrolled into the campaign to try out their trading platform as most won't bother if it is sent to their wallet. I'm not sure as to what will happen if it's changed to a normal one.

I know one thing that would happen is that many more folks would be interested in their campaign.  I, for one, wrote this off entirely when I realized all the onerous hoops they wanted us to jump through in order to do this contract work.  I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way.
2482  Other / New forum software / Re: Signature changes on: March 19, 2015, 06:40:13 PM
Lol Shocked Well Muhammed I didn't understand all your explanation , So basically I have to ask this :

I think I got you. I will try to explain in a better way or I ain't good at explaining.

Users will be able to block a signature compaign ? or a User signature ? Because those are two different things . If you block "bit-x" you won't see Ads of Bit-x at all , but if you block signature of a User , well .. you won't see signature only of that user .

Yes. If you input 'bit-x' to hiding feature, you won't see any signature which contain 'bit-x'.

If it's the first case (blocking the whole signature compaign) It's going to be probably blocking the BBCode on signatures
Let's say I have in my profile something that ask me to type the BBCode on my signature so Block them :

Code:
[center][url=https://bit-x.com/][size=21pt][glow=#fbb326,2,300][i][b]      [color=#095aad]BIT-X[color=#7c2604][size=15pt].com[/size]      [/color][/b][/i][/glow][size=21pt][glow=#095aad,1][font=Arial][size=14pt]   [color=white][i][b]►► New Real-time Cryptocurrency Exchange ◄◄   [/b][/i][/size][/glow][/url][size=21pt][glow=#fbb326,1] [b][size=15pt]  [url=https://bit-x.com/registration/index][color=#7c2604]CREATE ACCOUNT→   [/color] [/size][/b][/glow][/size][/center]
[size=7pt][b]

Well the only way user get this BBCode is by checking the thread of the signature compaign , right ?

Here is the part you missed. Firstly, we use words not whole code. Secondly, AFAIK we can fetch signature code using a bot.

So ... signature compaign owners can make a BOT that contact users with the BBCode once they register on the signature compaign instead of posting it on the thread . (Means people who advertise only will get the BBCode and that guarante that the others won't block ads)
not sure if you got me right , but that's what I meant , I could be wrong because not sure how the system is going to work .

~ Madness

Roll Eyes I hope you understand now.

Oh I understand now ,so basically if it contains that word or something simillar to it .
Let's say I put "block" , It will block any any signature that contains "blockchain" "blocktrail" "blockexplorer" etc ... I guess I got it
thanks for the clarification (this was better then the first explanation Shocked )

~ Madness

If I understand this correctly, the best thing would be to match not just a small subpart of the signature for blocking, but to go ahead and match against the entire string of code  (or, as long a string of text as you can find in the case that it's not possible to get the actual code) in the signature you want to block just so that you avoid the false positives you are talking about.  I'm sure the devs realize this.

However, again, I would expect that if this is a tool that's implemented server-side then surely there's no problem to get the actual bbcode markup for any given signature.
2483  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 19, 2015, 06:36:20 PM
Yes but we shouldn't complain at least we actually get the cashouts. Unlike otherwebsites.

I think most people did.  I actually never got mine.  However, it was only 38KSat so I'm not worried about it (and Micon has promised me 1mBTC on the new site to make it right---once they actually develop a proper client for the new site so that I can log in and try it).
2484  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: March 19, 2015, 06:33:32 PM
I don't think many people would buy the faucet bot.
Firstly it would take ages to hit minimum cashout from the faucet. Many times you would have busted your capital before cashout.
Primedice would notice unusual activity from your account and could ban you before you can cashout.

It is not worth to pay 1 btc for the faucet bot.
Hes talking about claiming and betting it on a multiplier that is big. If it loses, it will claim again. If it wins then it will withdraw.
chances of hitting a big multiplier is very less will take a lot time/bets, i don't think it's worth it. isn't there any limit on faucet claim?

I think that the more you claim, the longer you have to wait between claims but I may be wrong on this.  Does anyone know for sure?
2485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A potentially very stupid question.... on: March 19, 2015, 06:31:11 PM
The interesting side question of why rewards aren't reduced in a different scheme is in another thread and this OPs question was about why block rewards don't go up over time rather than down.

I hope everyone (including the OP) can see that this leads to an absurdity where no one wants to be the early adopters because they get paid a lot less than late adopters, which leads to a case where everyone else is waiting for someone else to start.

This is like a funny game you might have played as a kid, the backwards race where the last to the finish line wins.  Everyone who has tried this realizes that it doesn't work.  No one has any incentive to move at all.
2486  Economy / Gambling / Re: Has anyone here ever made money gambling with BTC? on: March 19, 2015, 06:23:49 PM
You can make or lose BTC or not-BTC, it does not depend on currency you play with but on your luck and patience. Personally I managed to make money on BTC gambling, the question is rather about quantity. Smiley

This seems to echo or sit well with what EvilPanda was saying.  Most folks who do win tend to win small for just the reasons he outlined.
2487  Economy / Gambling / Re: We've opened a bitcoin casino! Bitcoins exclusively. on: March 19, 2015, 06:21:21 PM
I'm not sure about this Casino, as stated in a previous post the starter of the thread hasn't responded to anything. This is a bit awkward I know, but don't mean anything either. They could be the owner of the site and have alot of matters to attend to. I'm fairly sure that if they don't post some info in the next day or so that this was a hoax and should be marked as such.

Indeed, there have been instances of bitcoin businesses who announced here and then rarely check in.  However, it usually turns out that this was a mistake, the owners of the business underestimating the importance of this forum for reputation and information distrubution.  You're also right that we should wait a few days before feeling too sure because, of course, emergencies do crop up in people's lives.
2488  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit on: March 19, 2015, 06:19:22 PM
Hi ,
i've a quick questions please , is there any ways to reduce fees in multibit ?? and also want to ask if there are bugs
in the windows versions for btc-e api , also when will you made a new update . Ty

I have looked for the ability to edit the transaction fee in multibit and as far as I know, it's not there.  I also started combing through the java code but never really got far---I just used bitcoind to send as I pleased (if I recall correctly).  This is, in my opinion, one of the features which is lacking in multibit.  I can't recall where, but I believe the multibit authors have essentially replied to this by saying "nope, you need to send the standard transaction fee because if you don't then you risk not getting confirmed then we, the multibit authors, risk getting too much mail complaining that our software isn't working when in fact it's the lack of fee".  So they simply want to enforce the standard fee in their software.  As I say, it's open source so you can mod it yourself if you want.  Or you can use RPC commands on bitcoind to generate a transaction without a fee (or with a lower fee), should you wish to do this.
2489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAVAJO COIN - ANON in LIVE SYSTEM / HARDFORK ● CHAT ● Faucet! on: March 19, 2015, 06:14:49 PM
You guys never got back to me or answered about whether your coin has any official ties to the navajo nation.  I really think that if it does not, you should reconsider the name for two reasons:

1) History of malignment from european colonizer society against first nations of Americas, this includes cultural appropriation without credit.
2) If your coin is actually successful in the long run you will eventually be sued for trademark/name infringement by the actual Navajos.

Just my opinion, I wonder why you guys don't reply to this point.
2490  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: March 19, 2015, 06:11:30 PM
Yah, this actually brings up a good point.  The fact that they don't pay more for the higher ranks means there's no real incentive to wear the biggest signature possible for your rank.  I wonder if their bot is careful to check this.

I was under the impression that they don't mind if people use a "lower rank" signature. IIRC correctly some hero member stated that he preferred to use the senior member signature. I don't mind much, to me the hero member sig looks good Smiley

Onkel Paul

Interesting.  I mean what you say has logic because they pay the same for all sigs all ranks.  Nevertheless, if I had known this while I was participating in this campaign, I would have probably used the full member signature simply because it's smaller and less intrusive.  If they are paying the same for all sizes, I would choose the smallest size (personally).  If everyone took the same approach, it actually might force bitmixer to pay more for larger sigs (which would be a good thing, IMO).
2491  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [CRYPTO-TRADE v2.0] Crypto-Trade.com Exchange & IPO -new- official thread! on: March 19, 2015, 06:04:16 PM
I've posted in both threads and emailed.  I've still never hread anything about my admittedly small amout which they seem to have taken.  I don't have a lot of hope but I am making it public that these guys ran away with my money (presumably because I didn't log in during their 3 day immediate or nothing window).

I withdrew my coins in the window before they shut and they kept them all anyways, thieving scum, they not coming back in 3 months lol

Exactly.  As far as I can tell, they have zero incentive to reopen in 3 months (now 1 month, I guess) and allow us to withdrawal all the money they stole.  No one is going to leave fundage with them if they reopen and allow us to take our money back.
2492  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A potentially very stupid question.... on: March 19, 2015, 03:52:33 AM
Bitcoin is not deflationary, it's inflationary, currently at a rate of 3600 new coins every day, this value halves every 4 years or so, so eventually around 2140 there will be no more new coins.

Well, yes. OK, that point was cleared up. But my original question was why not increase the rewards over time instead of decreasing as long as the end limit remains the same.

It'd give late adopters a reason to opt in?

Right, but now you see that why that's not really good, yes?  You don't want to reward the later more than you reward the former because you can make a race to be the last in.  That would, of course, lead to an absurdity: no one wants to adopt bitcoin first because the later adopters are better rewarded so no one ever adopts it at all.  Obviously the better course is to make a race to be the first to  adopt and this is the sane thing which happened.  You understand this now, yes?
2493  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: March 19, 2015, 03:36:34 AM
A question, the OP says

If you change or remove signature, even for a couple of hours, you have to start again: wait one week for the next payment, start post new messages, etc.
You need to reactivate your account if you didn't post 45+ days.
Thank you!

I just upgraded my rank to sr member, i should wait until next payment to change my signature? or i can change it now?

Upgrading is not necessary as payments for the allowed member levels are exact the same.

If you do want to update, wait for your payment, and update your signature afterwards.

Yah, this actually brings up a good point.  The fact that they don't pay more for the higher ranks means there's no real incentive to wear the biggest signature possible for your rank.  I wonder if their bot is careful to check this.
2494  Other / Meta / Re: Is GGGGG hacked on: March 19, 2015, 03:31:37 AM
It was, but I restored it to the original owner a while ago.

Is theymos_away really theymos?  This is my first time seeing this account.
Yes.

From this account's profile:
Quote
Admin notes:   This account is controlled by theymos, but it is less secure. Do not do business with this account.
I don't think 'normal' users can create an admin note

BadBear also has an _away account, unsure on its use.

i think they only use "_away" account when they log on from another computer except their personals to avoid  malwares catching their admin accounts passwords

That seems smart.  I can see the utility of this for sure.  You never really know what's happening on someone else's system.  And don't make me comment on the sorry state of security on public systems like you find in a library or something.
2495  Economy / Gambling / Re: Has anyone here ever made money gambling with BTC? on: March 19, 2015, 03:29:53 AM
The reason why not many people win big money is simple. Most players play low and as a result win dust. Those who get lucky and have a streak keep playing because they want to ride it and also usually end up losing most or all of it. To win you need 3 things: balls to play big, luck and discipline to get out with the money.

Indeed, you're absolutely correct about this, I believe.  However, if you play for fun then your objective might not be to actually win money but just to have a good time and break even.  I really believe this is actually the healthy way to approach gambling.
2496  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: March 19, 2015, 03:27:30 AM
What about some people use new accounts to defame me?

I was defamed by a stupid guy before, I felt strange, I never talked to this retard man. And he gave me negative feedback

Is that possible to remove that fake feedback? Luckily my current trust is good, not negative.

Assuming you are talking about this?

Feedback is not removed, but this is why there is a trust hierarchy namely default trust at the moment. That combined with the lack of reference link, no proof given by the person leaving you negative feedback, and the fact that they are a 6 post newbie with 0 posts interacting with you, their feedback would be disregarded by anyone in their right mind.

What's more, if the person who defamed you turns out to be a notorious asshole, you might even end up proud of the negative feedback.  I got neg-repped (speciously, I hasten to add) by tradefortress back in the day.  Now I think it's a kind of mark of honor.

2498  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A potentially very stupid question.... on: March 18, 2015, 08:51:56 PM
Hello all,

I'm fairly new to Bitcoin and very new to these boards. I've begun trying to learn as much as I can about the currency, and the more I read, the more questions I have! Honestly, this is the funnest learning experience I've had since I figured out that you could throw jelly and it'd stick to the wall Tongue

The part I am having the most difficulty with is the whole "Is Bitcoin deflationary etc" thing - trying to get that figured out in my head, coming from a background of absolutely no economics knowledge whatsoever.

So, my (probably daft) question is this:

Why is Bitcoin structured so that the amount of coins mined reduces? Would it not make more sense that the number would be low in the beginning and then rises with the difficulty? A sort of more work = more reward thing?

I'm pretty sure that I am missing a BLATANTLY obvious point here, but I'd much appreciate enlightenment.

Thanks Smiley

Ist.

It would punish the early miners and as such would probably have meant that no one would try to improve the miners.
Crypto as an idea is supposed to be different the normal fiat currencies that are inflationary i.e. bad for savers and good for those who aret stupidly risking their money on risky wall street trades.  It's money for the people.

I think your question is intersting.  The answer I quoted seems to have most of it.  Also, consider this, if you're trying to kick off the bitcoin project, who do you want to reward more: the early adopters who invested time and possibly money on something which wasn't so clear whether it was a joke?  or the late bandwagoners who are just doing what everyone else is doing?  I think if you think of it that way, it's clear that you want to reward the early adopters and then they have incentive to bring more value to their greater holdings by getting more and more people involved.
2499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm not rich but why is this happened to me? on: March 18, 2015, 08:46:53 PM
As nearly everyone is saying, or perhaps merely hinting at, the altcoin world is a circus of lies and deception and pump-n-dump scams and schemes.  There's no doubt that some people are making money at this but mainly by fooling others.  Unless you're ready to compete with these shady folks, it's best to stay away.  Why not buy some bitcoin (even a little) as the price is rather low nowadays.  I'd say you have a better chance to make your money back that way (in the long run) than you do by trying to stay ahead of the altcoin circus on reddit/twitter whatever else they use to communicate.
2500  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: March 18, 2015, 08:41:41 PM

For how much do you guys think Stunna would sell primedice? I don't think he wants to right now but if someone offers 100 billion dollars he would accept , so that means there IS  a number but what is the minimum amount he would go for?

It's really a question that only Stunna can answer but it is fun to speculate about.  I think you're right that except in extreme circumstances there's almost always a price for anything.

this is a question that stunna cant give an actual number either because some people might be able to offer a crazy amount of btc considering the fact that PD has been established for quite some time and the community thats stands behind the sites wager up crazy amount of btc each day

But wait, if Stunna is owner and proprietor of Primedice then isn't he literally the only one who can decide how much he'd sell it for?  I think I understand your point that Stunna doesn't know the future (or so we believe Smiley ), yet Stunna can indeed decide whether he would sell or not for a given figure.

I dont think that stunna own PD 100 %, I've read it somewhere which I couldnt find again that dooglus actually got some contribution towards the bankroll, again this is a non backed evidence , but i've read it before and perhaps must be some other too

Well, that's a very good point, if he's not sole owner then he couldn't make the decision to sell the whole thing no matter what the price.  However, he could decide to sell his share (and I still think he's the only one who can decide that Smiley).
