why  yobit can have their lisk  and we not?Huh?  this is totally unfair ....   what the f is going on,,,,,

They don't trade real lisks. It's an asset for Lisk, a claim/requirement for Lisk.
2482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: April 06, 2016, 03:34:42 PM
the game they are doing is really easy.
They have bought lisk during ico, we can say 100 btc for example.
They know they will have around 500k lisk.
They have opened the market selling a lisk token made by yobit.
When lisk will be released, the people that have bought those token will have real lisk in their wallet.
The fact is that they're buying lisk @220k sat now.
Many buy and sell are surely fake, but among the fake there are real people spending real btc.
I don't know if define it spectacular or maleficent! But this is magic for sure!

My thoughts about it are simple: Let them drive the price to the moon. It will definitely go down right after launch but hopefully be still high above the ICO-price. So, I'm not sure if I would call it legit but it could be interesting regarding the process to find a price. Like a little test.
2483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: April 06, 2016, 01:57:47 PM
Just a little personal update about the wallet (because I was critical about it): Now it's working for me. I tried it on two different Mac's without any problems. I still have problems with the papermill on both Mac's (still showing weird signs and I have no idea why), but no problems with an Windows-Laptop that I use as offline-Computer. I still believe a more easy-to-use-System would be good in general but for me it's enough to be safe now. So, thanks to the team!

Regarding the papermill on Windows: First it just opened and closed the terminal. The solution can be found here:

They always have said that the 11th is not a fixed date and that there could be a delay. So, I don't understand the drama here.

And even if it's not just because of those who didn't generate their keys yet: It's still a fast process.

Most of all ICO-projects have a lot of months between ICO and launch.

This could be really great for Factom:

R3CEV Partners with Microsoft to Boost Banks’ Blockchain Adoption

Microsoft has recently entered into a strategic partnership with R3CEV to offer its Azure cloud-based infrastructure for the development of blockchian solutions.

(...)

According to a press release, Microsoft and R3CEV have struck a deal to use the former’s Azure cloud platform for implementing blockchain infrastructure being developed for the banking sector. Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform is already well-known for both the quality and security. Thousands of well-established companies, as well as startups, are currently using Microsoft Azure to host their services. Recently, Microsoft included blockchain as a service (BaaS) solutions to its Azure platform, which immediately gained a lot of traction.

(...)

The use of Microsoft’s Azure services by R3CEV and banking consortium will give then access to the company’s fast-growing blockchain technology offerings which already includes the likes of Ethereum, Ripple, Factom, Alphapoint, LibraTax and more.

If it would be true that somebody would have factomized the missing minutes of the Nixon-records and if it would be possible to decode it into a soundformat, it would be a HUGE story. In some days everybody with access to a newspaper would know about it and Factom, and everybody would like to know who did it.

The 18½ minute gap
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixon_White_House_tapes#The_18.C2.BD_minute_gap

So, I think it would be good. Factom would be in the news like a new kind of Wikileaks.

But I don't believe that this record even exists. I believe it was deleted without a back up and as I said: Yesterday was April 1. ;-)

2487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: April 01, 2016, 11:04:28 AM

I don't believe it until I hear it. Today is April 1......  ;-)

Here come the trolls.. Wow. As soon as there is any good news you can count on them to show up in full force and bring their FUD. Definitely time to buy and hold folks. Enough said.

I'm not trolling, as I said, I'm invested for the long haul.  If I'm wrong about something, please point it out.  I'm presenting my theory based upon the statements of the lead developer.

Or I'd love a Factom employee to explain how I'm wrong.  I'd love to be very wrong and pick up some more Factom if it's actually underpriced.  But based upon my analysis, it's overpriced at present.

Haha invested, what a joke.. waste of time trying to respond to a paid troll. Your history convicts you my friend. Please go find another incredible coin to troll and maybe you'll have better luck. Likely not. Trolls are so easy to spot these days it's almost hilarious.

http://imgur.com/kZq1yRu - A screenshot from Poloniex

I suspect you've invested more than you should in Factoids.  If you're getting that upset, you may want to evaluate how much you're investing into your various cryptocurrencies.

And did you actually read my post history?

Wow you are good! I have invested in Factom and do believe in this team. IMO this is the best time to accumulate. Time will tell if I'm right.

Oh by the way if you think factoids are so 'under valued' because of your fantastic analysis why don't you sell now and buy back cheaper.

Because I'm an investor, not a trader.  I create an entry position and then continue to buy on the way up as fundamentals support increased prices.  If fundamentals don't support increased prices, I don't buy.  Right now, I don't see the fundamentals supporting the price.  Hiding that fact won't change much as the market always finds the fair price.

I understand your point, but I'm not sure I agree with your proposition that the fundamentals don't support the price. If your definition is totally based on the present time, you are correct. We could say: If Factom would stay how it is and where it is, with the current use to be stable but without increasing use, the current price would be too high. That would be correct. But the fundamentals are not just about the current use of the system that isn't even totally finished yet.

The current use looks this way:

Source: Usage Statistics
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RUZLxxoAfT3C5jIJ144DLYdztYe_sqrKqbTlZuD05-s/edit#gid=445871101

What it shows is an increasing number of users and if you focus on Poloniex for example, it's also rational to assume an increasing number of EC's being used per user/company. That is what it shows.

To evaluate the current value it's rational in my eyes to think about it all, also about obviously ongoing negotiations behind the curtain we don't know much about yet. Because it's more rational to assume that Factom will grow, that the use will continue to increase and that they will deliver more and that there will be more deals in the future, as it's probably that it will stay where it is.

If you think about it all, it's still hard or even impossible to calculate a fair price for now, but I personal wouldn't say it's overvalued because under the line it's about potential and I don't know of any other project in which I would see that much potential as in Factom.

Quote
What dissapoint me is that your selling your clients expansive entry coins, and cause its not easy to use they wont use factoids.

I don't think you understand.  All Entry Credits are derived from burned Factoids.  It doesn't matter if the Factom store burns them when getting a CC order, or by burning Factoids yourself.

Think about this from a business perspective.  How would they add data into the system?

1) Buy Bitcoins
-this is a non-trivial step today.  Do they issue a PO order?  Can they use the department credit card?  Both sound like a no.  result: No Factom usage.  End of project prototyping.

2) Send BTC to exchange and buy Factoids
-Doable as a business, but it would be operating under the radar since corporate accounts are not really a thing.  Shapeshift might work too, if it is up at the time.

3) Use wallet to burn Factoids and buy Entry Credits.
-doable, but awkward, as the community knows.

4) Now the business software can use the Entry Credits
-Actual business logic can progress and applications can publish on the platform.

5) Convince legal department + accounting department that the IT department dealing in Bitcoin is not risky for the business.
-Most of the world is still scared of Bitcoin.

or:

1) Use company credit card to buy Entry Credits.
-Factom, inc. processes credit card, pays CC fees, bears chargeback risk.  Factom inc. buys Factoids off the market.  Factom inc. converts Factoids to ECs and assigns them to the business's address.  Factom, inc has a strong incentive to keep the system working.

2) Business software can use the Entry Credits to publish.

Which part about this are you upset about again?  This is changing it from impossible to possible for businesses to use Factom.

If you think that we are making too much profit, you are free to setup your own Credit Card merchant account and try to undercut.  Complaining about a business taking too much margin without considering overhead means that more research needs to be done.

In option B you state "Factom inc. buys Factoids off the market." What does off the market mean? Where do you buy Factoids?

Exchange for example.

Folks,

I am not very tech savy and have bought at the beginning over koinify some fct. I have my adress and also my 12 words password. How can I make send the fct to another address?

Thanks in advance

Check our guides here: https://factom.com/howto

Thanks for the reply. I think I will wait until there is a more simple solution offered. As long as I have the 12 words passphrase everything is fine...am I right? I mean I could wait forever, couldnt I?

There is a simple solution on Poloniex. If you go to "Deposit & Withdrawals" --> FCT Factom

...there is a field for the Koinify-passphrase to import your ICO-amount.

Crypti and Lisk can coexist and collaborate which is a good thing imo!

After the ICO the Lisk-team holds about 80% of the total supply of Crypti if I remember it correctly. So, I would say Crypti is done because it's centralized now.

Could somebody please tell me what 'milestone 2' is?

The 3 Milestones are like 3 steps to the full system.

Quoting Paul Snow from the AmA:

Factom released the protocol in September of 2015, running on a few servers that we manage. This was the first milestone, and it allows applications to write their own applications that rely on data secured by the Bitcoin blockchain, and organized by the Factom protocol.

Milestone 2 will have a couple of major components. First will be the deployment of a Entry Credit store, where users can buy Entry Credits (basically access to the protocol) without touching any sort of tradable token. The second will be the release of the consensus algorithm, the software supporting distributed processing of the Factom protocol. We are working to have the first release candidate of the consensus algorithm by the end of the year. We fully expect to release a few release candidates prior to going into production with the consensus algorithm early in 2016.

Milestone 3 is the last milestone. It will release the election protocol, which places the control of the federated servers in the hands of those purchasing Entry Credits. We intend to reach this milestone in the first half of 2016. In addition to implementation, it also relies on having enough diversity of use of the protocol to make the election process meaningful.

Actually when factom lost value today it is a red day simple, excuses like btc did good today doesn't cut it.

People are leaving Fct cause there so damn slow! Oke they have good talkers Paul snow mainly but come one
A working wallet is too much work, announcements about development we don't hear cause they doesn't wanna disappoint the people come on! I liked factom a lot and I made some nice bucks but I'm happy I sold at 470k and now I can only feel more good about it.

Good job factom team your losing your initial investors one by one!

Ow and thx for answering the question I asked here like four times ! Really costumer service orientated I'm surly never ever will support factom again

Like I've said before: I understand criticism about the wallet. But if critique correlates with the up and down of the price, it could seem as if it's just about the price. And the price dropped because of Bitcoin, that's a simple fact. Nearly all Cryptos with some volume reacted immediately. In general it's not the best idea to mix criticism with price-complaining.

And just by the way: Especially the price is nothing to complain about. Just the last 4 weeks: +65% (and in between the bubble with much more). If you should be right that they lose early investors, and I have some doubts about that, it seems as if a lot new people come in every day. Take a look at the volume and how it increased the last weeks.

So, be happy about your decision to sell. But my guess is: You shouldn't expect community-babysitting because of price-crying. ;-)

And yet another really red day for factom I will buy all your coins at sub 100k

It's not really a red day for Factom. Bitcoin is rising, so others are falling. Take a look at ETH or even DGB. A lot of overreaction because of the Bitcoin-awakening.

So from 475 to 375 isn't a big red day ? Seriously your full of it.

Just saying it's not because of Factom, so it's not a red day for Factom.

But we all together can cry a little because of the price/s.

Does it really need Neucoin?

Something about Digibyte (I'm not invested, didn't even really knew about it):

They do what Neucoin wants to do, but they really do it and obviously they know how to do it - without a Million-Dollar-ICO but with development and hard work in general.

That's how a smart economical system looks like. No monster premine, no monster inflation.

Missed the ICO, I'm cursed LOL
Let's see how this performs in few weeks.

No worries! You will probably get it cheaper between 2-4 weeks after it has launched on exchanges Smiley

Don't underestimate the amount of people who want to buy in or get more Lisk. I'm one of them... So price may drop but not as much as you think/hope Wink

I expect that it will start at a high level. That's usually the case after ICO's in the first minutes on an exchange. Question will be if it will be stabilize above or below ICO-price.

login.lisk.io is just for testing, right? If I login there it does show the correct address but no balance.

Yes. If it shows the correct address it's allright.
