1641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lykke raises 500k$ through ColoredCoins on: October 09, 2016, 11:18:56 PM
Hi I was hoping you could answer my last question :

How will the iata coin be priced vs the Lykke coin?

Will they be priced on par ? or will the Lykke be worth more? How will the two be used I thought Lykke was going tobe the coin used in the global marketplace?

Iata would be a coin traded on Lykke exchange. LKK price is unrelated to Iata price.

Iata is  International Air Transport Association (IATA), right? Will they issue a coin?   Huh

It seems that way. Some informations I've found about it:

This is also something that can give an impression about the potential of this project:

And just btw:

Would be good if this Account would get more followers and retweets: https://twitter.com/LykkeCity

Just found something interesting:

Above can be seen that Richard Olsen was on the IATA-conference. What is IATA?

It's the International Air Transport Association
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Air_Transport_Association

And there is an interesting tweet:

IATA shared an inspirational idea at #WFS2016 - IATA digital coin. Lykke is proud to have had a chance to contribute
https://twitter.com/LykkeCity/status/779223316452167680

Including this video:

IATA Digital Coin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kip-uUa6h6o

Who published that video? Lykke.

What will this Digital Coin be about? In short: To make money-transfer easier, more secure, faster etc.

There is also a PDF about the IATA-conference:

World Financial Symposium - Supporting Sustained Airline Financial Health
https://www.iata.org/events/Documents/wfs16-program.pdf

Just two quotes:

17:10 – 17:20
Industry cryptocurrency
See the proof of concept comparing international wire transfers and blockchain payments around the world. Could this technology enable the creation of an industrial currency such as the “IATA Coin”? What would be the advantages and what would be the limits? Can this be the payment of the future?

Right after:

17:20 – 17:45
Panel discussion:
FinTech - Impact on the CFO and the finance team
What is the finance department looking like in the future? what is their role, or they still needed, what skills are needed in the new Fintech organization. With the help of Fintech, can we turn the finance department into a profit center focusing on decision support and strategic partnership.
Moderator:

∗ Marcel Koppes, VP Airlines & Travel, Adyen
∗ Natasha Lala, Managing Director Solutions for
Business, Oanda
Richard Olsen, Professor, Zurich University and founder of Lykke

************
With other words: Connections are already obvious. That's not a guess anymore. Will this IATA-Coin come? Most likely it's already in development or even finished. I doubt that there would be a first PR-video if it's just about an idea. Will that Coin launch on Poloniex or any other crypto-exchange we know? They obviously call it "Industry cryptocurrency". It's safe to say "no". Will it be on Lykke - I believe the chance is high.

And that shows a lot of the potential of this project. Crypto won't stay in the Poloniex-world. And Lykke, as a platform that is easy to use, secure and like a bridge between both-worlds could very well be one of a few platforms that already have a foot in the door. All of the above is much more than just a little hint.

1642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - a global marketplace on: October 09, 2016, 04:28:05 PM
will i be able to trade Lykke right after ico end ?

I am having the same question. You should be able to trade right?!. dev or some from the team, can you answer this question.
And Traders and Investors, what do think the price per coin will be once it gets listed? Any predictions ?

The free market will take over right after the ICO has ended and trading can begin. What the price will be, I can just tell you what I personally expect but don't take it as prediction:

I don't expect something like a hype how we've often seen it when a project launches on Poloniex months after they've done on ICO. Lykke is different in nearly all aspects. It's not a hype but what we can see is increasing attention. The ICO also is no hype ICO but what is likely: Longterm-Investors bought while short-term oriented Investors most likely are carefully - because there is not that much attention.

One could see as negative that there is not that much attention yet to expect huge volume and high volatility but my personal opinion is that Lykke has a stable base on all important fronts. Great fundamentals and very fast progress, most likely more real supporters as Investors then just short-term-speculators (why I don't expect much sell-pressure) and what I believe are key-aspects: Lykke will be very attractive also for those who didn't even think about buying LKK yet, because it will be used from typical Bitcoin and Ethereum-Speculators and even more interesting for the future are digital assets as colored coins, and the both key-aspects:

1) security
2) easy to use

If I think about the price it means this (my personal expectation):

The more people will use Lykke because they want to buy BTC or ETH or another Digital Asset, the more ppl will make the experience that it's a great platform and LKK-shares become attractive. I expect that a lot of future users will become LKK-Investors.

I have read on the "Information Broshure" that the Company held 1,883,864 (14.65%) of its own shares and 300,000 of this share are offered for ICO.
So the total shares held by ICOs will be (maximun) about the 2.33%.

It is right or I am wrong something?
Can someone clarify?

thanks

Yes, seems to be correct:

1.6. Own Equity
As of the date of this Brochure, the Company held 1,883,864 (14.65%) of its own shares.

https://lykke.com/Lykke_Corp_Placement_Memorandum.pdf

Total supply is: 1,285,690,000 Lykke coins (LKK) -  100 LKK = 1 share
..........................12,856,900 Lykke-shares

In this ICO 30 M Lykke Coins are offered = 300,000 Lykke Shares

Everything works now. Hopefully it was just a technical error. Thank you guys who tried to help me out! Smiley

You can see your address now? What was it? Because if I check the address you posted above:

AaPMBX5pvj5e8RLQbygZdpG4Nr1HSenLtT

...it still doesn't show up.
1646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][rICO]Antshares Pre-Launch Security Contest on: October 08, 2016, 08:26:20 PM
I'm not on slack, the members list fills up quite quickly. I could give you my ANS address, as you can't do anything with it without the privkey, right?

Yes, only the private key holder can claim ANS when the mainnet launches. With your ANS address, I can only see your investment (if it works).

I can add that earlier when I wanted to "Query" I had to press Verify after writing an address, and it would load a bit and then the Query button would light up. That does not happen anymore, I press Verify and nothing happens.

Well when I enter my address and Verify it, the Query button appears, but when I enter an incorrect address, I get the error message you specified earlier (when I click on Verify) and the Query button does not appear.

Allright, please check this address; AaPMBX5pvj5e8RLQbygZdpG4Nr1HSenLtT

Tried it but for me it also shows "address not found".

I would say that it's not concerning, but you also said: "I do no longer find the address I sent btc to on the ICO list."

I have no doubt that they'll fix it but it seems to be more then just a technical-issue then. First I believed it's maybe just your browser - but if your BTC doesn't even show up anymore, you should get in touch with them.

It is a bit worrying, considering it did work earlier. However I do have the Privkey and everything, hopefully they have not deleted me and taken my BTC Tongue

If that should be the case it would be something like "human-mistake" and they would fix that. Your transaction is still on the blockchain etc. It's just guessing because I have no idea, but let's say somebody claimed his BTC back and they took the wrong address out or something like that.

I doubt that it's about that, but whatever happened it can be figured out what went wrong.

Yeah, hopefully. Will try and figure out if I've done a mistake, but I've been at this for about 3hours now and can't find out whats wrong.

I don't believe that you did something wrong. If your BTC-deposit/ICO-address is not even to find here: https://www.antshares.org/ICO/HeroList

...it's kind of mysterious.

What you should provide to them is your ANS-address and your BTC-ICO-address.

I just followed the transactions of the ICO to this address: https://blockchain.info/de/address/3Q8pgRFtxbUp8wtGbtQqRNXPs1B4i6enu1

Still    6,119.319402 BTC on it.

Hi guys!

I can no longer query my investment on the ICO webpage. I could just a week ago but trying to today I only get the error; address not found.  Who can I email about this?

Thanks,

Works for me. Maybe just a typo or a copy-paste-mistake?

Few questions for Paul:

1. Will you guys be doing another bnktothefuture campaign in the near future?

2. Are you willing/able to help facilitate block-trades of FCT, i.e. if I wanted to buy a significant amount OTC from a dev or another early investor?

3. Have you guys been looking into Dubai (I assume you've read the recent news)?

Keep up the good work!

Damn, you was faster. ;-)

I also wanted to ask Nr 3 because I've read that article which is really interesting. And: Paul Snow was in Dubai in 2015 (see comment below: "This is from Dubai Bitcoin Conference"):

How many coins will there be available on launch ??

Total supply is 100 million ANS.

I copied this in my notices (but without link - I believe the whitepaper was the source):

- 10% of the ANS have been designated to early supporters of the Antshares, in exchange of 600,000 yuan of seed fund.
- Approximately 17% of the ANS have been designated to participants of the ICO Phase I, which took place in October, 2015, in exchange of 2,100 bitcoins.
- Approximately 23% of the ANS will be designated to participants of the ICO Phase II, which is about to be launched in August, 2016.
- All the remaining 50% of the ANS will be hold by the Antshares team. They will be locked for 1 year via a smart contract after the Antshares MainNet launch.
wait for the launch.

when is the launch?
I only see some speculation of when it will be launch, people only say next month but the rest of us wants an exact date because we are expecting it will be listed on different exchanges.

Soon we will know it:

hi everyone,
currently it's our national holiday from Oct 1st to Oct 7th in celebration of our independence.

got a full month a head, cannot wait to share with you some exciting news and events, as well as our launching date.

Yesterday was the AMA with Richard Olsen and it's really worth reading it - very good questions and answers!

http://blockgeeks.com/ama/live-october-7-12-pm-est-richard-olsen-ceo-at-lykke/?utm_content=buffer129f9&utm_medium=social&utm_source=linkedin.com&utm_campaign=buffer

A few quotes:

About Regulations/Regulators (surprised me but it absolutely makes sense)

R.O.: "Regulators are deeply frustrated with their inability to reform the financial system, so regulators are open to innovation."

What Lykke will be about in that context:

R.O.: "Lykke addresses issues that regulators wanted to solve for decades – we are highlighting these features: new type of matching engine based on price, time and spread priority, which addresses the risk of flash crashes, intraday interest payments, which ensures intraday liquidity during periods of stress, ability of immediate settlement, which is a continuous clearing system for all types of asset classes and can address the issue of too big to fail. We highlight, why our exchange can solve problems of the existing financial system and then last but not least prepare our applications in a meticulous fashion – we have some excellent lawyers, who support us."

This also says a lot about Lykke and how it's different to what we know from usual Crypto-projects and ICO's

Q.: What is your strategy to build user growth? Lykke hasn’t got that much attention until now, could you discuss your marketing and partner acquisition strategy?

R.O.: "I did not want to go around with power point slides and pitch abstract ideas – I wanted to deliver products and let products speak for themselves. We use state of the art technology that is highly abstract and difficult to comprehend. As with smartphones and all the apps – they speak for themselves. We want to build a viral product. In addition, we are building three other services that will support our marketing efforts: a competition platform, where we do crowd sourcing for all our services….in this way we have people that contribute to the Lykke project from around the world and they will all be our ambassadors. In addition, I am dreaming of a open access publication platform with prize cascades for the best contribution of the last hour, last six hours, last 24 hours, week, month etc…these cascades reward contributors and editors. This will hopefully attract top quality unbiased news content which is important input to a free and efficient market place. Third, I want us to build a Wikipedia for BigData – a simulation and real time environment for forecasts, trading recommendation with a crowd-based approach. Innovation and stellar products should drive users to our services…and finally our strategy of being open and transparent – we try to be authentic."

About Ethereum and other Blockchains:

Q: Will Lykke be fully built on the Ethereum platform? And if so, will you be considering using other blockchain platforms?

R.O.: "Yes, this is key for us to integrate Ethereum – so this is one of our big projects in the coming months. We will be very user driven and will integrate all the blockchain platforms that have significant traction. We think that is important to integrate – the success of the blockchain revolution depends on building an efficient and inclusive market place, which is fair in the true word and everyone has access to and get an efficient price for his digital asset."

A lot more interesting informations in that AMA - highly recommended!

Thank you Tempus for replying to me.

I might be lucky and hear from LykkeX - I see he/she is online.

From what others have said I understand that my two options are credit card (even though I object to the invasion of privacy when it is only a voucher) or bitcoin (but my experience so far is that it is not cheaper.  The exchange I'm using is charging upto 5%

That is definitely too much. What exchange is that? Lykke itself will be a good place for that soon.

But I wanted to be clear on the ability to transfer LKK from one Lykke wallet to another Lykke wallet because a friend who is also going to invest can probably buy more coins and send them to me afterwards.

After your post I tried it myself. I've made an account on https://www.coinprism.com and sent a tiny amount to test it. Worked fine.

1655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - a global marketplace on: October 08, 2016, 05:39:20 AM
Hello all,

I came across this forum via a Google search and it seems to be much more active than Lykke support currently is.

I want to invest in some Lykke coins and give my support to the project but I am having difficulty in doing so.  Credit card payments are not easy and straightforward as advertised on the site...you have to go via a third party to buy a USD voucher, and for a one-off purchase, this third party wants you to register an account with them, asking you for a username, password, full name, full address, verified email, verified mobile phone and date of birth.  This is as much information as one would provide to Lykke and is more than some of my banking institutions have, but to simply purchase a USD voucher with your credit card that is immediately converted into Lykke coins anyway, I feel the process is excessive and intrusive and potentially discourages small investors who may not use BTC etc.  I am certainly discouraged...

Lykke support mentioned to me when I wrote to them that they may be able to process a credit card transaction manually but there was no clarification about how to do this.  I also had some trouble understanding the English clearly in the email.

I am aware that I can purchase in Bitcoin, but all of that is new to me.  I looked at my local exchange and realized after looking through their FAQ's and how things worked that their spread was circa 5% - so in essence simply to buy 0.5 BTC for example I'd be looking at fees of about $15-$20 USD (depending on how I deposit funds to them) Way too high in my view and certainly doesn't give me confidence that cryptocurrency is bringing down transaction fees.  Ridiculous.

In short, I am left with asking someone else to purchase Lykke for me.  My questions to you are (specifically Lykke X who I note is a regular on here, and "tempus" who also helps out a lot) if it is possible at the moment to transfer lykke coins from one lykke wallet to another one.  I don't see anything on the app or on the FAQ on the website that indicates this, but surely I'm wrong?  LKK to LKK should be an instant transfer, cost-free right?  With this confirmation I'll probably have a solution to this problem by asking a friend for a favor.

Alternatively, if there is a way before the deadline that I can pay by credit card without the excessive requirements of the "creditvoucher" company (who I've never heard of and wouldn't want to give so much information without assurances of exactly who they are and why they would need it to buy a voucher!) please do let me know.  I'm totally new to bitcoin, the crypto world etc, but I agree with the idea of disruption in financial services!  Thus far though I don't see any barriers coming down at all - in fact, this "simple" credit card transaction has been harder than at any point for me in the last 15 years.

Look forward to a response.  Thanks.

Hi netbox!

I've copied your post in the Lykke-Slack because I don't want to give you answer that might be not totally correct. I personally have no experience with Credit Card etc. but I have no doubt that they'll find a good way for you to purchase LKK before the end of the ICO.

What I already can say is: Yes it's possible to transfer LKK (Wallet: LYKKE --> Withdrawal --> Address (or QR-Code) --> Proceed --> Amount --> Proceed = transaction is sent)

As soon as there is answer I  (or LykkeX) will let you know.

I am having trouble understanding how factom secures things on the blockchain.  I've read that the factom protocol places a simple hash on the blockchain but that information is kept off the blockchain on private servers.  First, what are "federated servers"  is that similar to dedicated?  And I am not sure I fully understand this on the blockchain but not on the blockchain protocol.  I do know that one of the reasons banks are weary of bitcoin but like the idea of ripple is the issue of public info on the blockchain.  All I can find are coin desk articles, the factom website, and bitcointalk but my question is more specific.  I am also a investor, like everyone else I guess.  Thank you.

A good place to start is with the whitepaper.  This will catch you up on the basics.

If you still want more after digesting the 38 page whitepaper, we have another follow up paper with more details.

I appreciate the white paper reference and I know about that, but I'm not a computer programmer.  Any articles that break it down into laymen terms?

The whitepaper does not have any code in it.  In my opinion, there might be a little too much fluff and exposition.  It is approachable by those who cannot read code.  Most, if not all your questions posted are answered in the whitepaper.

You are asking for a 5 minute read to "fully understand" the project.  It take would probably take a years worth of study to fully understand it.  If you won't even read the whitepaper, then it seems you do not want to understand Factom.

We do have some informative explainer videos.  These may help, and will only take a few minutes to watch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Dj3qZeSLdY&list=PLz_L4-CmLmkf2hAcCEnM_5RM1Gs7XPuuN&index=2

I glanced at the white paper, but I'll give it more than a cursory glance this time round.  I was hoping factom "could" be surmised in a paragraph, but if it can't no big deal.  Also Brian, are you part of the factom team?  Reason I asked is you used the word "we" Thank you

The FAQ's could be a good place to start:

Brian, IMHO, Factom Inc should consider a name change. For example, Factom Utilities Inc.
There is just way way too much overlap and confusion in using the Factom name:

'Factom got funding', 'Factom is forking and implementing new possibilities', 'Factom reports it owns 5% of Factom', 'Company XYZ is going to provide services on Factom'.

Date Registered: Today at 05:56:49 AM

Understandable that it's all so confusing for you. But you'll learn. ;-)
Reading comprehension much?
There is no need to be a fanboy, even if you are a fan of Factom. I am one too.
It is NOT for me, it's for the other 99%.
You want a wider, less confused public, don't you? You don't see how for people the majority of non-tech savvy people it may be confusing?

I don't see that people are confused like you are. I don't know of headlines like "Factom reports it owns 5% of Factom" etc. But maybe you can give sources where you've seen the stuff you say that it's confusing?
Again, reading comprehension.
These are the potential future headlines.
Anyways, thanks for the discussion and some insults =) Obviously, we cannot have a discussion when I'm talking about one thing, and you are talking about something else.

Ok Nostradamus.

Understandable that it's all so confusing for you. But you'll learn. ;-)
Reading comprehension much?
There is no need to be a fanboy, even if you are a fan of Factom. I am one too.
