2481  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitcoinorama: Shill for KNC? Hardware is too full of sock puppets on: August 13, 2013, 05:07:58 PM
Funny that you posted this thread at the same time I posted this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.msg2925699#msg2925699
2482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 13, 2013, 05:04:10 PM
From what I've read before, I think in one of their news letters, I believe what they are going to use the wallet id is for when they test the individual rigs. I remember reading that they will test each unit before shipping them out. The wallet is probably used to so that you will receive whatever coins the rig generates during that test-in time. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that's what it's for.

Most likely, I assumed this as well.
2483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 13, 2013, 05:02:58 PM
After much observation, it is very likely Bitcoinorama is a shill. He goes above and beyond to defend KNC and proclaim how great KNC is in every aspect, but is extremely critical of their competitors.

That is only my opinion though. I know he's going to reply to this stating otherwise, but whatever...

BTW: No, you do not have to be paid to be a shill. Merriam-Webster: to act as a spokesperson or promoter
2484  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: August 13, 2013, 12:45:37 PM
The guy that just posted fake news should seriously be banned.

Do you realize someone could of bought a million shares expecting them to have prototypes this week, only to learn later that the post was fake?

Someone could of lost a lot of money because of your stupid joke. I hope you're happy with yourself...

PS: I hardly ever call someone out like this on the forums, but this is just plain wrong.
2485  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: alternative power supply for ANKER hubs? on: August 13, 2013, 12:17:13 PM
I have some 10 port Anker hubs I'd sell for .5 BTC shipped (in the US) if anyone wants them. International shipping will cost extra.

I haven't had any issues with mine.
2486  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: August 13, 2013, 07:48:21 AM
The extra capacity will be chips only, to be used with a HashFast or third party chassis.

I'm not harping the "buyer protection plan" (it is a lot more than any other company has done, so I applaud HashFast for this), but make sure you guys read the fine print.

You will need to pay for the chips to be assembled into actual mining equipment (which is probably why they can afford to do this).
2487  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official ASICMINER Hardware Information on: August 13, 2013, 07:14:09 AM
ASICMINER hardware has from its inception been a hardly break even, or negative expectation as far as ROI.

Why would they sell them for what they could mine with them? They should just mine with them in that case. Instead, they place the price higher than what they think they can mine with them and sell them to as many suckers as possible.

And it worked... it is truly genius!
2488  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Diversified Group Buy [KNC/BitFury/VMC] [Maybe:Cointerra/xCrowd/HashFast] on: August 13, 2013, 06:49:05 AM
right now it seems the wisest thing to do is to wait for a few days or a week
and see the new options that are coming. It's quite possible that the new
offers will make existing providers lower their prices as well.

I agree. I am sitting on the group funds for the time being until the dust settles.

2489  Economy / Securities / Re: COG.F2 on: August 13, 2013, 06:45:25 AM
COG.F2 is LIVE! https://btct.co/security/COG.F2

Contracts will be sold for BTC5 each. Each is a contract for delivery of 20 Cognitive shares. Just like the first round of COG.F this is an extremely good deal for long-term investors, only this time, the delivery date is guaranteed to be no later than Q1 2014, and more than likely will be December of this year.

Go pick a few up at https://btct.co/security/COG.F2 Smiley

Cheers,
Garrett

Hi Garrett,

Which of the new ASIC companies are you working closely with? (in regards to you talking about forming a deal with a new 28nm company.)
2490  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 13, 2013, 06:14:04 AM
I feel pretty confident that Dave has hitched his cart to the right horse this time.  I'm way more comfortable about my preorder with BF than I am with my preorders with BFL and KNC.

I have fears that BFL will go bankrupt before I ever see my orders and KNC, well, I'm getting that same feeling I had with BTCFPGA/BitcoinASIC right before the avalanche.

I hope you are right about Dave, and wrong about KNC.  Cheesy

I wish ASICs never existed. The things these companies are putting their customers through is unacceptable. If it is not an outright scam, then they delay your order as long as possible until it is not profitable any longer. It is truly bullshit. I should give Bitfury the benefit of the doubt because they haven't done this yet, but like I said... I am expecting the worst.

Please Bitfury, prove that all ASIC companies aren't out to suck the profit out of the products they sell before their customers receive them. Otherwise, Bitcoin mining is dead IMO, leave it for the big companies/corporations. Along with that, Bitcoin will die a slow death because it is no longer "for the people, by the people".
2491  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WTF Avalon? Ship the Chips! on: August 13, 2013, 05:23:27 AM
My chips are up for auction for anyone that still wants to take the gamble: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=272407.0
2492  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: August 13, 2013, 05:17:48 AM
Is it too early for us youngins to learn where Baby Jets come from?  Is it a bit ... eww?

Do you mean the name?
I assume it was a joke.. like a "where do babies come from?" joke.

Anyways, I am excited to see what you guys come up with as a "Miner Protection Program".

Sounds interesting.
2493  Economy / Auctions / Re: 282 Avalon Chips via Group Buy Orders [Steamboat/ragingazn628] [AT COST!!!] on: August 13, 2013, 05:14:11 AM
PS: Shipping costs are not included. I would rather mine with them if I can't get what I paid for them.

Thanks,

Ch
2494  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 13, 2013, 05:02:24 AM
Can we see a prototype in action or something? I remember seeing the video confirming your hardware was generating nonces, but I'm talking about a video of a product that looks and works exactly how the equipment will when a customer receives it.

Honestly I'm getting a little concerned, there is under 3 weeks left in August. Dave, you are going to be a hated man in these parts of the forums if Bitfury fails like BTCFPGA, even if you deliver but with delays. You may as well find a new line of work in that case... I'm hoping for the best, expecting the worst...  Cry
2495  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Shit Hits the Fan for Dodgy Bitcoin Mining Companies on: August 13, 2013, 04:37:02 AM
They've already damaged the mining community and a number of promising business start-ups.  I don't care what their "gen-2" chips do, I will never order anything again that depends on Avalon in some fashion.  They've been added to my personal scammer-do-not-buy-from-ever again list along with BFL.

You said it brother... Let see how far BFL or Avalon get when people simply stop buying their late to market, overpriced and underperforming products. We are now able to pick and choose from other offerings that is a great thing and given the leaps ahead of BFL and Avalon the next generation producers are going it seems Avalon and BFL are pretty much losing out anyhow to much more powerful and efficient offerings.

+1 let them rot

(although I do hope someone wants to buy our Avalons for trade in purposes after I've used and abused them for a while.)  Wink
2496  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: If you sell on eBay or other outlets, please read this: on: August 13, 2013, 04:29:05 AM
My 2 cents:

I bought 84 for 1 BTC. Sold them all for $140+ ($3360 profit). I thought jeez, that was a good deal.... so I bought 50 more. ASICMINER dropped the price to .55, so I ended up selling all 50 for about $75 (a $1250 loss) because prices on Ebay had already crashed. Sellers beware. You might get stung by ASICMINER dropping the prices, or by the Ebay system... read on...

Ebay fees are so high, it literally ate ANY profit I had and I actually think I operated at a loss because of ASICMINER's dropping prices.

I even had one person file a case because I said in the auction it would run at 300+ Mh and his was only running at 275-295 Mh. He said he came on the forums here and someone told him they are supposed to run at 336 Mh. I wish I knew who told him that... after mining on over a 100 of these, that is the FASTEST a BE will ever run. Speeds vary (as I mentioned in the auction) as with any other mining equipment.

Anyways.. be careful about how you describe the item and its hash speed. Of course the guy that files the case mines on the damn thing for 2 weeks before he asks for a refund. I wish I knew his name on here so I could give him a piece of my mind. Actually, I gave him a piece of my mind in a Ebay case message. I'm probably getting a negative feedback.. I just couldn't help myself. If you are not happy with the buy, then send it back and ask for your money back... don't mine on it for 2 weeks...

So, I'm done with Ebay and BEs...

/rant

PS: Sorry canary, this is the only thread I knew about selling BEs on Ebay and thought others doing the same thing needed to hear these things.
2497  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: laughted at me when I said ASIC companies are manipulating you on: August 12, 2013, 07:12:57 PM
This thread cracks me up. Not only the content, but every time I read the thread title I say it in my head in a little kid's voice "You guys laughted at me."  (emphasis on the T) Cheesy

If everyone made a thread every time they predicted something correctly to beat their chest, these whole forums would be filled with "I was right about X" threads.
2498  Economy / Auctions / 282 Avalon Chips via Group Buy Orders [Steamboat/ragingazn628] [AT COST!!!] on: August 12, 2013, 06:02:49 PM
The chips are from the following group buys:
179 chips - ragingazn628 (Group Buy #1) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177994.0
103 chips - steamboat (Group Buy #4) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192916.0

I will arrange with the group buy operators to change the shipping address on my orders. If this is not possible, then I will ship the chips to you (or wherever you'd like) as soon as I receive them.

The starting bid is less than 10 cents more than what I payed for them (~ 0.083/chip)!!
(I only rounded up to make it easier to bid and follow the auction.)

Please bid in increments of 0.001 BTC

To reduce the amount of work for the group buy operators, there can only be one winner per group buy. The only possible chip combinations you can bid on are 103 chips, 179 chips, or all 282 chips.

Example starting bids:
103@0.083
179@0.083
282@0.083

Timer removed. End time: 2013-08-15+01:00:00UTC
This auction will go until the above timer runs out. Every bid will be counted up until I post that the auction has ended- even if the bid was made in between when the timer runs out and when I make the post that the auction has ended. If the timer runs out and I have not posted that the auction has ended, it is fair game to bid until I do so.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Ch

Only about 4 people have voted in the polls on the forums. Please everyone go vote!

Maybe a dumb question... Where exactly to go to vote?

PM Relm9 here on Bitcointalk.org, he is our forum admin. I am not an admin of the forums for transparency reasons (I would be able to edit/delete any posts, etc.) Include the email address you want to sign up to the forums with. After he manually verifies your account, you can visit the forums here: http://www.yourcoins.org/forums/forums/diversified-group-buy.4/

EDIT: bitwhizz, you're too fast Tongue

Please note, I keep a list of all updates in the first reply to the OP under the list of investors. It lists all updates, along with linking to the post that has all the info about the update. (Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=268280.msg2869200#msg2869200)  Smiley
