I love all of the different use cases for block chain technology that are being thought of lately.

This is going to be global revolution... decentralize everything!!!

Seriously, governments and corporations of the world are not to be trusted and/or are incapable. Bring control, wealth, and power back to the people.

1703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swarm? on: June 19, 2014, 04:06:33 AM
I think it is a good idea. At first I thought it was just a fancy interface for XCP, but it is much more than that. The owners of Swarm coins get equity in any coin that is crowdfunded on the Swarm network. Furthermore, they get other perks such as access to presales of future coin launches. I think it is similar to XCP/MSC/NXT in terms of asset issuance, except the fact that all swarm coin owners will get equity in every project launched on the platform.

Also, it seems they are focused on making it so easy and user-friendly that a monkey could do it, which would be an improvement I think to what's currently available. I don't really see this as a big deal though, because more user friendly interfaces will almost certainly be developed eventually for asset issuance in XCP/MSC/NXT/etc.. unless they happen to die for some reason.

IMO it is an improvement to the crowd funding capabilities of MSC/XCP/NXT, because as we saw with Maidsafe.. after the IPO the coins are dumped for BTC to fund the project, and the market takes a big hit. At least you will gain some equity in the project being crowd funded to make up for this (depending on success of the project.)

EDIT: I guess I was off on a couple points, as MSC is being integrated into Swarm, so Swarm will benefit MSC and XCP. Here is a lot of good info:

BitAngels due diligence report on SWARM (https://docs.google.com/document/d/12VLfibhGGSwy4cuHUZUG5ngEVTZoZ6_dKKqLGwhhdik/edit):

Due Diligence Report on SWARM

The following report is NOT intended as advice to purchase software. This report is presented for purely informational purposes. ALWAYS conduct your own due diligence before buying digital tokens associated with a software project during a crowdsale.

TLDR:
SWARM http://www.swarmcorp.com/ is an open source project to build a “distributed incubator to help people fund their ideas” by issuing digitial tokens on top of protocols such as Counter Party and the Master Protocol (potentially more in the future, SWARM is platform agnostic). The current project client is built on top of Counter Party, however SWARM have announced plans to also integrate Master Protocol in the coming months. Their crowdsale starts June 17th at 12:00 a.m. midnight U.S. central time. The team is has the full technical stack covered. This will be one of the first front end interfaces to create digital tokens (though it does have competition in Coin Powers and other efforts) and relies on the Bitcoin Protocol and Counter Party to function. The price of the tokens will rise during the period of the crowdsale based on the volume of SWARM coins that are purchased with bitcoins. See http://www.swarmcorp.com/ for details. BTC is the only currency accepted during the crowdsale.

View the SWARM Presentation and Q&A at the following link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0Ibqr7Y2XcNNlowMzNJZjkwT0U/edit?usp=sharing

Summary
The SWARM project was founded by Joel Dietz to make issuing digital tokens as easy as the press of a button on a mobile app. The project decided to issue it own digital token in order to fuel development and acquisition of market share. The sale of these digital tokens known as SWARM begins June 17th at 12:00 a.m. midnight U.S. central as part of a crowdsale.

Crowdsale On June 17th at 12:00 midnight U.S. Central Time
A total of 100,000,000 SWARM Coins are available for sale during the crowdsale event which runs for a period of 33 days until July 20th or until the total number of SWARM Coins is sold.
The pricing of the SWARM tokens is determined based on the volume that is sold. Specifically SWARM is selling SWARM Coins at a rate of 5,250 SWARM coins per bitcoin the participant sends in. This rate of SWARM declines the more bitcoin are collected until four thousand BTC are collected and the price increases to 4,250 SWARM per bitcoin. This generation process could continue all the way until twenty one thousand bitcoin are collected and the generation rate falls to 3,750 SWARM per bitcoin.

Details found at: http://www.swarmcorp.com/

It is worth noting that the SWARM team does not expect to collect the maximum number of bitcoins by selling out all of their tokens (though it is possible if demand has been underestimated). Instead, the project has set a range of price points and is leaving it up to the market to decide the proper price of SWARM Coins. If the market decides this projects is highly valued, than the price of the coins will reach a higher level during the crowdsale. Conversely, if the market decides that this projects is not as highly valued, than the price of the coins will not rise as high during the crowdsale. Either way the pricing of these tokens is for the market to determine.

Team
The co-founders of SWARM (Joel Dietz and Jef Cavens) are both located in Berlin, Germany at the moment though both are originally from the U.S. and often reside in Palo Alto. Joel’s focus on is the back end of the application and Jef is focused on the design aspects of the application. Here I will highlights from their back grounds.

Joel Dietz (www.linkedin.com/in/joeldietz)
Educated at Brown, Joel has spent the last seven years in a variety of positions from software developer to startup entrepreneur. He has made many contributions to the Bitcoin community the past several years as part of projects ranging from Master Protocol to Ethereum. Now with a focus on Bitcoin 2.0 technologies.

Jef Cavens (www.linkedin.com/in/thomasverhoye
Jef has spent the past 14 years in different design and creative roles in the software space. His strong design influence is felt in the presentations, application wire frames and websites that SWARM has already produced.

Economics
The utility of SWARM is based on the charging of a fee to users in order to issue their digital tokens. This fee is taken in the form of a small percentage of the digital tokens issued by the user (around 2%, subject to change) at the time they are generated. This fee is then sent to different parties. 1% of the fee to all the holders of SWARM coins. 1% to the SWARM Foundation.

While this fee provides a great deal of utility to the holders of SWARM, it also makes the protocol more vulnerable to the risk of folking and alternative versions of the project emerging that don’t charge a fee. If the market will accept this fee remains to be seen, though for perspective it is less than half of the fee that current incubators such as 500 startups and Y Combinator charge (typically 6% or more).

Technical Description
The creation of the SWARM clients is not technically difficult in the sense that they do not have to research or provide any new cryptographic proofs for the functioning of the system. Instead, the system relies on the existing Bitcoin and Counter Party for its basic functions and transfer of value.

Challenges
There are a number of existing incubators such as 500 Startups and Y Combinator, and platforms such as Angel List that offer projects an ability to raise development funding for their ideas. While today, these services are centralized and use legacy financial models, if these competitors were to begin embracing crypto currency and change their models to that of open source, they would be tough competition for SWARM. Depending on how much network size effect the SWARM project is able to gain before its competitors adopt the same or similar model will largely determine its success.

There are also new entrants into the this space including Coin Powers, which are using the Counter Party and Master Protocols in order to provide functionality very similar to that of SWARM and will be competing for similar users. Again, the speed at which the SWARM team can move developmentally and to grab market share is likely to have a dramatic impact on how successful their project is.
1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TEST RELEASE] Cryptonite binary for linux (mini-blockchain implementation) on: June 19, 2014, 03:36:14 AM
Congrats on the test release! I am glad you finally found some developers and made this a reality! Props to you putting up the bounty.

Block chain bloat could prove troublesome to Cryptocoins, and even more so for coins that have quicker block speeds.. those blocks will add up over time. Also more and more features are being built on top of coins, and in new coins as well, which will bloat them even more. Due to the network effect transaction rates will go up in a parabolic arc, so I'm not sure everyone understands how big of a problem block chain bloat could be in the future if Cryptocoins are widely adopted.
1705  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: SmartHashing.us -> Gridseed Accessories For Sale & Hosting News/Discussion on: June 19, 2014, 01:52:49 AM
Our forums seem to be offline at the moment. I would like to give an update on the diversified and avalon group buy here.

The rigs in the diversified group buy were hashing longer than the Gridseed ones, as they were hosted at my home and the power wasn't switched off until about a week and a half later than at the warehouse. I have since got the HashFast Baby Jet up and running since Monday evening, and the KNC Jupiter has been hashing since Tuesday evening. Those are the two most stable rigs, so I thought it important to get those back up and running first.

This leaves the Bitfury rigs left to setup, I think I will have them going by tonight or tommorow. It is kind of tricky finding places in the home to setup all of this stuff considering I have to run them on normal 120v outlets. I have my bedroom and the living room maxed out power-wise, and am planning on setting up the Bitfuries in the dining room. I need to be careful about where I set things up, as my sister has 3 dogs and I have one as well.. the house is pretty crazy. Luckily the living room has a door on it, so I can shut them out of there so they can't mess with anything. I am going to get a table for the dining room so the Bitfurys are out of their reach.

I can settle up the Avalon group buy account by the end of the week. I have to be out of my duplex by Friday, so the next 2 days are going to be insanely busy. I think I will have most of the weekend to work on this, as well as paying past due payments for the diversified group buy. Since the forums are down, I cant log on to see if anyone wanted to change their BTC address for payments. So, I think it is best I wait until they come back up so I don't send a payment to someone's old address they don't have access to anymore.

I still have a few people that haven't contacted me as to what they want to do with their Gridseeds, I suppose if I don't hear from them by the end of the week I will get those up and running in the meantime until I hear from these people. I will also be sending out emails to everyone I have not heard from this weekend.

Everything is slowly but surely being worked out, thanks for your patience.
1706  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN]Bitfrog–Truly Decentralized Anonymous Game Platform (with explainer video) on: June 18, 2014, 10:45:38 PM
Hi CoinHoarder, thanks for raising your concerns and discussing the potential challenges of our project, which brings us a very good opportunity to explain our project details to the mass.  To our potential donators who treat bitfrog.io as an investment, we hereby state clearly that we never attempt to conceal the risk of this investment, there are many potential challenges that we might need to tackle in the future, such as technical problem, communication and mass perception.
We would also like to clarify that our vision is to unite gamers with aligned vision to create a sound community to actualize our vision. We would like to invite all gamers and talents around the globe to join us and be part of the revolution. As a group of bitcoin enthusiasts, we believe that we should endeavor to contribute to bitcoin development. Instead of creating a new crypto-currency, our emphasis is put on the ultimate application; thus we introduce the DAG projects.
In the current stage, we have been deciding when and how to approach Sergio, who affiliates with NimbleCoin.org , http://Certimix.com , http://Firmcoin.com , http://QixCoin.com , to take part in our project. We respect and appreciate his effort in facilitating the development of crypto-currency as well as his utmost expertise in mental poker. You may probably expedite our schedule to approach Sergio, even though we though a successful stage 1 donation may lead us more convincing to Sergio while he has already engaged with Qixcoin. Bitfrog has fundamental difference to Qixcoin, we want to exploit bitcoin and add value to bitcoin by adding a real decentralized application. So we are not going to create a new currency solely for game playing like Qixcoin.  A community built by Poker lovers is a prerequisite for success.
Thank you for understanding our difficulties and revealing challenges we encountered, which ponit out the reason why we need support from the public to support us to take a further step. We envision a fair, rewarding and open game platform for game lovers. We hope to call for donation from the public to co-create such platform with agreed regulation.   Again, thank you for providing figures to us, however, there is a little difference between data we have and aslo the approach of our POC, we hope that you can have a conversation to see if you are interested in joining the development team. We believe that there is always room for improvement. At the same time there is a big room to improve player satisfaction through wise design of UI/UX and we will use timing of real Poker game as a reference. Please be aware that this falls out of our objective as we are not aggressive Poker House and trapping people in gambling is not our end goal.
For problems regarding collusion, in the 1st release of bitfrogPOKER, we will provides options of private table and public table. For those players who want play privately with his friends can join the private table. There are some options of public table that increase of cost of collusion. However, all transactions will be transparent to the mass, we will leave the development of anti-collusion to the future bitfrog ecosystem like our affiliates and developers.  We are anticipated to our collaboration. Thanks again for you valuable time.

I'm not really interested in joining a team, my interest in this is purely academic and the want to liberate the game of poker from rake and politics. If for-profit decentralized poker networks are developed, I have a feeling rake-free versions will pop up sooner or later once its proven the idea is feasible. This is "ideal" poker and will put billions of dollars back into online poker players' pockets annually. Furthermore, online poker options in the US suck since Black Friday, so I (and many other Americans) have stopped playing. I see this as a possible solution to governments suddenly deciding they want their cut of the action, shutting sites down, and tying up funds for years. Furthermore, a lot of poker networks have scammed players by the use of superuser accounts, commingling player funds with operational funds, and straight up stealing or walking away with player funds. I see this as a solution to all of that and it will give a nice peace of mind to players that their money is safe. I am certain this is a "killer app" for cryptos if done correctly, as online poker is a multi-billion dollar industry. Even if a rake-free site is eventually made, this would mean Billions of dollars would be spent purchasing coins to play on the poker network. Either way it is a win-win.

I have had some correspondence with Sergio the past couple days and he assures me he has greatly increased efficiency of his protocol since the patent was filed. I'm not sure if he will shed any more light on it however, as I see you and Qixcoin as being competitors, but at least we know it is possible. This led me to try and find out ways to improve efficiency of the protocol. I came across a research paper updated March 2014 that claims to have created an efficient MPF, however I am having trouble locating a free copy. Perhaps that could help lead you in the right direction. http://dblp.kbs.uni-hannover.de/dblp/Search.action;jsessionid=D1E3B58C6D09EBEE05D64324002C3EFA?search=&q=Mental+poker (it is the latest entry, in 2014).

Your method of combating collusion is not very well thought out IMO. Having private tables and public tables does not solve collusion. You should start with the obvious methods of using fast fold (rush) poker (the larger the player pool the less collusion is possible), heads up games (collusion is 100% not possible due to their only being 2 players), and multi table tournaments (the more tables, the less collusion possible). I believe this is what your competitors are planning on doing. Solving collusion for 3+ player cash games and single table tournaments will be very challenging. I have some ideas, but they need some refining. I will post them once I can go over it more.

Please consider getting a PR guy to communicate to the public. No offense, but obviously English is not your first language and it doesn't really look all that professional, especially since you're trying to raise a lot of money. I would consider dropping the emphasis on "rigged bad beats" as well if you want the poker community to take this more seriously. You kind of sound like the people they like to make fun of when you talk about things like that (IE. the tin foil hat online poker is rigged club.) The most popular centralized sites are thoroughly and independently audited for randomness. If you put too much emphasis on this being a way to prevent rigged bad beats, you will have trouble getting more established people in the poker community behind you, such as online pros that put in a ton of volume which could prove to be a lucrative source of income for the poker network. Then again.. maybe that will draw more fish and then the pros will look past that. However, in the initial stages I don't think it's good a good thing to emphasize. For instance, the first news post on your site immediately says that you think online poker is rigged. They just aren't going to take you very seriously when they read things like that IMO.

Good luck, I'll keep an eye on this and help out when I can.

EDIT: By the way, I would consider doing Poker first instead of third. I know of at least 3 other projects that are being developed, and the network effect can have a great affect on adoption. Also, I believe the online poker industry to be much more lucrative than online mahjong and doudizho. Maybe I'm wrong on that though, I am not too familiar with those games, and it is of course up to you and your team. You should also consider publicizing your identity, I can't imagine too many people will send in money if you remain anonymous.
1707  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN]Bitfrog–Truly Decentralized Anonymous Game Platform (with explainer video) on: June 18, 2014, 03:12:16 AM
The problem of Mental Poker is fascinating to me. I am the guy over at 2p2 that recently bumped the old decentralized poker thread and got it going again. I'm glad that several projects have popped up since then, as I feel like this is a "killer app" for cryptos if done correctly. I'm not sure if some or none of these projects got started because of the attention I brought to the subject, but that was my intention and it happened nonetheless, so I am happy about that.

I am worried how fast the new projects have got started and are already collecting funds, because I feel like Mental Poker is possibly not sufficiently solved quite yet. Yes, you can play a game of Mental Poker, and you can prove the validity of the shuffle, deal, and actions. However, I have deep concerns about the efficiency of the Mental Poker Framework to provide a fluid real-time game of poker like people are used to on centralized sites.

I direct you to Sergio Lerner's patent to learn more about the MPF. He spent years researching, developing, and experimenting with Mental Poker and I consider him to be the utmost expert on the subject (or at least the most knowledgeable person on the subject that I know of). I will cite a simulation he did with different MPF protocols and the time it took to verify the results. Although he improved on efficiency of prior protocols, it still seems rather slow. You may see the patent here: https://www.google.com/patents/US20110202766?dq=sergio+lerner&hl=en&sa=X&ei=vv6gU9a4GdSuyASNxoDQBA&ved=0CDMQ6AEwAw

Sorry that it jumbled up when I copy and pasted it.. refer to the link I provided.

As you can see the most efficient MPF protocol (that I can find) takes 14.64 seconds to shuffle and, more worrisome, it takes 27.6 seconds for a showdown. Obviously this slow of a speed would greatly hinder the game flow of a hand of poker. Consumers will not want to wait 30 seconds after each hand to find out who wins if it goes to showdown, or 14.64 seconds to shuffle.

Have you thought of this problem? If so, how do you plan to improve upon it so that the MPF could provide a playable game in real time, with a normal game flow that online poker players are used to?

Secondly, collusion is another big problem with decentralized poker networks. How do you plan to combat against it? Obviously playing heads up games, "fast fold" (Rush) poker, and multi table tournaments only would pretty much solve the problem of collusion. However, I feel that is only a half-assed solution and I would like to see something better than that come along where people can play full/6max ring games and single table tournaments. Providing heads up games and multi table tournaments only serves a portion of the games available on centralized poker networks and I'm afraid if this is not solved this will not be the "killer app" that I think it may be.

I feel it is important these questions be asked and answered before more funds are raised and you possibly realize that what you plan to do is not really practical competition to current centralized poker sites due to the complications. I am not trying to cause you harm, I support your project and am very interested. I want to see you succeed, and this is why I'm asking these questions.

Thanks for your time,

Ch

Thank you guys, I appreciate that. I met some of the best friends I have in the crypto world by doing my first Avalon group buy.

I can't explain how awesome it is that I have gained friends like this through that venture. I honestly was not expecting it, but it is an added bonus.

Your support and understanding through this troubling time has really meant a lot to me, and I appreciate it very much!

Cheers

Trust me, there are more affordable options around if you are really interested in this. Check this:

Dominican citizenship is available for around $100,000 and the Latvian Passport is available for just $96,000. The Cambodian passport is even cheaper, at $70,000.

Nice, I still don't have anywhere near that, but maybe one day I could do it. Until then I guess I'll just have to deal with it!

An island would be much better than central Texas I suppose forgetting out the tax stuff for a second.

The USA has gone downhill slowly in terms of personal freedoms and privacy. The "Land of the free" bravado has long sense died. Sad

If your name is Jesus or Nathan, I have not received a Bitcoin address from you (that I can find at least).

So I can go ahead and send out the payment in a second, I have generated an address for you guys and will hold the BTC there until I hear from you.

I have also emailed you both.

The payment will be going out soon.. I am just waiting on the block chain to catch up. Still 6 weeks behind, so it may take a bit.

EDIT: It has been sent, sorry it took so long. The change from Bitcoind to Bitcoin Core messed up my payment commands because it was installed in a different folder. Furthermore I had a silly error in the command that took me forever to find. 6 hours later... it is paid. I apologize that everything else on the to do list will need to wait until tomorrow since this took so long. Thanks for understanding.

ftpking,

You are right I should of responded this morning I apologize. I actually had someone to help me move today, so I needed to take advantage of the help while I had it. It is for that reason I wouldn't of been able to do anything until this evening anyways, so I didn't feel the urgent need to respond I guess.

I agree I have taken a ridiculously long amount of time to pay out the mining earnings, and I apologize for that. I got a lot done today as far as moving (I have to be out by Friday), so I have tonight and at least tomorrow morning and afternoon to tend to my group buys. I really wish you would have just sent me the Paypal like I suggested and not done a charge back on me. I think you would have already received your equipment. I think maybe it was a blessing in disguise though, because I realized due to the amount of equipment you have I need to split it up into two boxes and shipping will be more than I thought and I have no money to cover it. I will find out exactly the cost tonight and I will email you about it.

Some things I plan on getting done this evening and tomorrow:
1. Make past due payments for mining income for all of my group buys.
2. Get the equipment that I am still hosting up and running (mainly for other group buys and only Gridseed customers that can't host their units). This has been challenging for me because the place I am moving into the dryer socket is in a 100 degree shed outside, so I can't use it to power all of the equipment. I am having to find people to host them for me as a temporary solution. A more permanent solution will need to be figured out though, because I can't expect my family to host these things forever due to the noise, heat, electricity, etc.. I didn't mind all of that, but I know most people would hate for their home to sound like a jet engine 24x7. I don't really have a good solution yet but something will need to be figured out.
3. Update the private forums for the other group buys.

Sorry again,

Will

Since you are going to take a hiatus I figured I would ask if plan to tie up all loose ends including this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=289668.0

It has been 9 months and counting. Just asking.

It seems Smoothie's life mission is to ruin my reputation. I think I am doing an OK job of that on my own Smoothie, I don't need your help. Tongue

GFY

1. You mad bro?

2. It was just a question. No need to get in a hissy fit.

3. Concerning your acronym, no thanks. I do not swing that way. But Goat might take you up on that offer since he offered the same thing to me just the other week.  Grin Grin Grin

4. So can you answer the question like a legitimate forum user or will you just keep dodging the issue?

5. Nice try to make me out to be the one who is in the wrong here. Clearly all I've done is call things as I've seen it. All you have done in response is to whine and cry wolf that I am stalking you and attacking you. You and goat sure appear to have similar traits. You aren't related are you? Tongue

Grow up Smoothie, aren't you like 30+ years old? This is ridiculous... As I've said 10 times now (maybe more)- I will pay off the loan and bounty as soon as I am able. I didn't feel the need to repeat myself, especially to you. I am broke and in debt to a couple people in this community. If I had money to pay them then I would, but I cannot. You bothering me about it all the time doesn't change anything- just because you make a post on here (and in at least 5 other threads over 2 forums in the past month or so) doesn't magically grant me the ability to shit money out of my ass. Maybe you don't understand... I am sure you are pretty well off from you crypto investments and selling overpriced coins, unfortunately I cannot say the same for myself. I couldn't go out to eat if I wanted.. all my money is in groceries in fridge or in my possessions, most of which I am selling to get back on my feet.

I am a freaking broken depressed individual right about now and things have not been going well. So what do you do? You go around and rub it in my face all over. That is just a very mean spirited thing to do and I am sure you have no heart. You are not even directly involved and have NEVER supported or purchased anything from me- EVER. You make it seem like you're some white knight rescuing the helpless from a terrible tyrant, when in actuality your actions and what you say about me stem from some kind of hatred you have for me. Why should you give a shit about all of this? Were you affected by any of it? NO... I know you're going to come back with some bullshit like "because I really care about people getting scammed" or something, but you and I both know this is personal for you. Otherwise you would be posting in one of the other million scammer threads and trying to help those people out. Yet, you only come here and harass me. I think part of your hatred from me stems from me pointing out that you are making a killing on your coins, and now it has been exemplified now that I came out that I no longer support Litecoin. Just please admit these are the true reasons why you harrass me, it is quite obvious although you try your best to hide your true reasons.

I have now ignored you, I should of done it about 2 years ago. Good day.

i had an interesting discussion today with a dude named Smoothie

He had huge holdings in Litecoin and compared LTC with a Broken Microwave

I find this comparison slight peculiar but what remains is the man's wisdom.

Litecoin is sinking irreversibly and loses its initial Hype Status as first altcoin. Its on the autobahn straight to shitcoin status.

Smoothie is a troll, just ignore him.

The first hardware shipments should be delivered, I need to give some assembly instructions...

THE POWER CABLES PROVIDED ARE FOR SCRYPT MODE ONLY
- You could start a fire, very important.

1. Plug in the USB cables into the Gridseeds. I recommend doing this first as it's a tight fit. IT may seem like you're going to break something.. don't worry about it, after plugging in 70+ I didnt have anything break. You can shave off a little bit of the USB connector with a Dremel if you insist on a better fit. All I did was insert them at a bit of an angle and push them down.

2. Plug in the Gridseeds to the USB hubs. IMPORTANT: If you need more than one USB hub, the 2nd hub (and 3rd if needed) must be plugged into the first hub. Do not try to daisy chain them, it will not work.

3. Plug in the power to the Gridseeds and USB Hubs. IMPORTANT: If you see a red wire, that barrel plug has 5v power on it which is for USB hubs ONLY. The barrel plugs with yellow wires can be used for Gridseeds. DO NOT confuse the two, red must go to only USB hubs (you can rig it to power the Pi as well), yellow must go to Gridseeds. You can fry your Gridseeds or hubs by doing this.

4. Put the SD card in the Pi, then plug in the 1st USB hub to the Pi (the USB coming out of the back of the hub).

5. Check all connections... make sure the Gridseed fans are spinning and the USB hubs are on. Then plug the power cable for the Pi into a powered USB slot.

6. Log into your router and find the IP address of the Pi.

7. Point your web browser to the IP address and on the left click update to see if any firmware updates are available.

8. Enter your pool information and click "save and restart mining process" (or something like that.. can't remember the exact words).

9. You should be up and running. If you are having stability problems, in the settings you can set it so it restarts the mining process at a set interval. This should solve your stability problems.

Tongue

GFY

The first people that contacted me and paid, your stuff is on its way as of today. Sorry about the delay.. life is crazy right now. I will write some assembly instructions and post them here. Make sure to read them.. I had a customer brick his units by plugging in 5v power into the Gridseeds.

- If you have emailed me and not heard back from me, you will hear from me today.

- If you emailed me and don't want your stuff shipped back and want it hosted. I will have your things back up and running within the end of the week. I apologize for delay.. I'm still moving.

- If you opened a Paypal dispute, I cannot send your stuff to you I apologize. I literally have $0 in my pocket and my bank account is negative, I cannot cover your shipping. When you open a dispute, Paypal freezes the money. Email me to work something out.

I am giving you guys all accessories at no costs, and 1 special edition physical litecoin (worth ~$15 each unloaded on Ebay) per Gridseed you ordered (until supplies last I am not sure I have enough to do 1-1 for everyone.) I have these left over from people that didn't pay for them after the auctions. This is the only way I can somewhat make up for this as I have no coins or cash. I hope you appreciate it... as I have definitely lost a lot of time and money in this as well. I wasn't making much of anything selling these Gridseeds as it was- hosted units I literally made nothing after paying for accessories and was planning on making money from hosting fees. That obviously never happened.

I am going to take a long hiatus from the cryptocoin community after this is cleared up. I will not continue any businesses I have started, I need to eliminate stress as much as possible from my life. I admit I am young (27) and still have a lot to learn. I have made some mistakes and I am sorry about that. I wish things would have gone better, but it most of it was out of my control. I literally do not know how I am going to eat tonight. I am now living with my sister, first night here she's like "I'm seeing this guy and he's gonna stay the night tonight." I'm thinking to myself... fuck my life. I told someone in email, but since I delayed even more I will explain it to you publicly. I have been having problems with depression the past 6 months or so. It has been hard for me to live a normal life, it is why I lost my job. I have suffered with depression off and on my whole life, but lately I have been the worst I've ever been. I would totally kill myself right now if I didn't have a family that would be devastated. I can't do that to them... I need to learn to be strong and teach myself how to be happy again. I have been going through some really tough times, all I am asking for is a little understanding.

Please just have patience and this whole thing will be fixed shortly. I am still moving.. no A/C at my old place or the warehouse in 90+ degree weather... by myself. This is why I have been slow to respond and send everything back. I will try to make an effort to be better about responding etc so we can get this cleared up once and for all.

Thanks.

Hi,

First of all I am sorry for my absence. I have been avoiding telling this embarrassing and personal story. My life is in complete disarray. I lost my job, am being evicted from my duplex and the commercial property I rent. I have been really stressed out and depressed about everything and have had a tough time with it. This is why I have been away.

The power was shut off at the hosting facility and I was looking for a place to host the equipment. Unfortunately I am moving in with a family member and there is not space for the mining equipment there. I am already hosting other Bitcoin mining hardware and the washer/dryer hookups in the place I'm moving into are in a garage and it gets real hot here- so that's out of the question.

I haven't touched any coins that were mined and your hardware is in my possession. I would like to ship your hardware to you. If you absolutely cannot host your equipment, then I may be able to host a small amount of equipment. Please get in contact with me with your shipping information. I literally have $200 to my name, I will need you to pay for shipping. This can be done via Paypal so you can charge back if you are worried about getting scammed.

I am truly sorry for what has happened. As always, I had the best intentions things just went south really fast and there wasn't much I could do about it. Again, I am sorry for my absence there is really no excuse for it. I should have came here and told you guys what was going on immediately so that it could be fixed. I am sorry you guys have missed out on mining time. I hope that providing free accessories will help you out, its the least I can do. Please arrange shipping through my personal email. Things are crazy, but I promise to get back to you within 24 hours. The email is WillconnatserEIGHTYSEVEN@gmail.com (change eightyseven to the numbers 87).

PS: Smoothie - I hate to be unprofessional even more, especially in light of the past couple weeks and the people that have been wondering what's happening with their equipment, but Smoothie seriously you spare no effort to kick me when I'm down. I'd appreciate it if you'd stop stalking me, it is getting creepy. I know you like to throw a jab at me whenever possible, but seriously fuck off. It looks bad on your part seeing as though you are a competitor in a competing side business (physical litecoins.) Ever since I announced I was going to make my physical Litecoin you always find a way to publicly criticize me in some way. Most people that have followed physical litecoins know the history in between you and me, some of them have probably read the flame wars, and realize how you are biased in your opinion about me or should I say how you wish others to perceive me. I strive to deliver what I say I will and I have all intentions of doing what I say I will do. Unfortunately things don't always work out the way you plan.
