2501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 24, 2022, 11:26:04 AM
Have anyone seen Gary Russell interview after the fight, the guy is a sore loser claiming he won the majority of the rounds and teaches Magsayo a lesson in boxing, all he has done in the ring is to run and ducked he doesn't even have an offense claiming that he has one hand, it's not Magsayo's fault why he has that injury what is clear is he clearly losses the fight and none of the judges favors him.

Here is the video of that interview

GARY RUSSELL JR. POST-FIGHT VS. MARK MAGSAYO | TALKS JUDGING, INJURY, REMATCH OR MOVE UP

Yeah, I saw this video earlier and honestly he made me laugh knowing that it's so clear that Mark Magsayo has the advantage of the fight so natrurally the Philippine boxer would be hailed as the winner and the new word champion. I reckon he didn't saw the video of the fight, what he's claiming is the exact opposite of what Mark Magsayo did to him. He can't just accept that he lost Grin
Also, it was Gary Russell's fault why he had injury and that explains why he only used his right hand in the fight.

Gary Russell is a great boxer and already carved his name in the boxing greats, he just cannot accept the loss he is doing a Teofimo Lopez by denying the obvious he is indeed a sore loser, he should just humble himself to gain the admiration of the boxing community, now they are laughing at Russell for being a sore loser, anyway, we looked at the fight even to the eyes of the judges he losses the fight, I lose a bit of respect to Russell for his denial.

That's okay mate, there are some boxers who can't accept their losses and that's normal as not everyone is humble. What's important now is that he lose and hopefully he will learn a lessoned in that fight, but since he does not accept his loss, then most likely he will not correct his misktake and will not improve.
2502  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Good moment to buy btc or eth? on: January 24, 2022, 11:12:22 AM
Hi crew. Hope you are all well in new 2022. Good moment to buy btc or eth?
From what i read price can be dumped more, i think split capital which is previously will we use to buy into 3 parts. Because when price keep down after we bought it, at least we still have money to buy more, and the rest if price really move very much and we can buy more with it. I think it is safer to do than decide 1 price and buy it all with capital that we have because no one can predict where actually bitcoin price will go.
it is a buying strategy and perhaps, it works and has been used by some individuals, we can do the same if we feel it was good. But this strategy usually applies to those who have more capital.
The price of Bitcoin is currently at $33,000, I was expecting to drop more where $30,000 is not far from getting reached. I buy some yesterdai but the market seems to deep more, I think, this is the best time for me to buy again.
2503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't punic, just hodl on: January 23, 2022, 09:49:58 PM
a good reason to believe that this is just a correction is the fact that the largest venture capital funds continue to invest money into the market. For example, a month ago Three Arrows Capital bought 156K ETH, or just recently A16z, Alameda, Three Arrows Capital held another round of investment and invested $150M in NEAR Protocol, which indicates that serious guys like a16z and Alameda still believe in growth.
I free totally with your title 'don't panic, just hodl'. Anyone who has been in cryptocurrencies world for a long time will not see this as a new advice or what he should be told, it is a basic knowledge for me. And as thing a going right now with the bear market I don't think anyone has any other choice than just to hodl. I believe this who are panicking are those who have invested what they can't afford to lose. When it comes to bear market the best thing is to hodl.
Yeah, holding is not new but should we have to hold until forever? That probably we hold those valuable coins and to sell those are not.
Well, I think, panic is not the reason why people sell their cryptos, they are just considering safeguarding their investment rather than losing all of it, cut-loss that it means. For as long as we can hold it, we have to do it. People have to do their own, making hold is not the only option to take unless if we don't need money then consider this as the best thing to do.
2504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 23, 2022, 09:02:56 PM
Congrats to the winners, I see that most of the posters here were betting on Magsayo, you enjoy the day.  Smiley

That was so lucky for Magsayo, Rusell got injured so he took advantage of it.
If Rusell wasn't injured, I think Magsayo might lose in this fight because the scorecards result were very close, one judge even score a draw.
Magsayo really did a great job and seriously, Rusell looks no injure at all since he also throw good punches to Magsayo, its just that he is not that good to beat Magsayo. Let’s accept it without any excuses, Magsayo dominate the match and he is now a world champion and still undefeated, luckily I place some bet on the last minute.
He can throw some punches but using only one hand, it was not an excuse but he was clearly injured and it helped Magsayo to win that fight. The scorecard were close although Magsayo won via majority decision, things could be hard for him if Rusell had two hands.
2505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 23, 2022, 08:46:15 PM
Everyone is on Thurman to win, I wonder how much money the bookies would make if the result will be the opposite. Most of us know Thurman because he fought Pacman, so probably we are underestimating his opponent who is younger than him and also only has one loss in his career.
What the bookies do in the case there is a very heavy favorite is to begin to offer huge odds for the other party so people feel more compelled to make a bet for them, however this can play against them as it was in the case of the first Ruiz vs Joshua fight in which Ruiz won and the casinos lost a lot of money as they were giving him huge odds, however most of the time this is not what happens, so even if they have an event in which they lose money they can easily recover it with the rest of the events they offer to their customers.
Bookies use some algorithm, they balance the odds very well so there's money on both sides of the bets. If you see some odds changes, that means they are just trying to balance something, so if you are smart and you bet early and later the odds changes on your favor, that's a good sign that you were able to get a good value the time you put your bet.
2506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 23, 2022, 01:38:48 PM

The judge that scores the draw is questionable given the compu box results but this is boxing a lot of controversies when it comes to going to the judges' score, Magsayo is being very careful because he knows he is fighting a strong fighter with a very good experience but like all the opinions here he is indeed lucky, Gary Russell can call a rematch if there is a clause in their contract, the argument is he is not 100% although it's not Magsayo's fault.

As always, they would favor the champion but not enough cheating for this fight. Scoring a draw is insane, they see that the champion is only fighting with one hand and there's no way he could win as Magsayo is also fast and fierce in the fight, maybe next time the favor would go to Magsayo as he is the current champion.

I think it will be blatant cheating if the judges score the fight for Russell as it is very clearly that Magsayo did enough to push the fight and hit Russell cleanly specially in the later rounds.

If for reasons, the judges score it for Russell, for sure there will be a lot of uproar and those judges are going to be in the hot seat for that decision. So they can't allow that except maybe for that one judge who have it a draw. So the reign of Russell has come to an end. Bring Leo Sta Cruz next for Magsayo, sure as hell that will be a entertaining fight.

I like the LSC fight, but let's see, give time for Magsayo to celebrate his win when he goes home to the Philippines. Even the great Manny Pacquiao has sent his congratulatory message to Mark as he manages him.

As I have said before, I suspected that it is a shoulder injury and Russell aggravated it more (I forget what round it is), but you can clearly see that he is wincing in pain and can't throw any decent punch.

I think that was in round 4, and after that, he was already struggling. Good thing Magsayo starts aggressive, and he hit the shoulder of Rusell. Maybe he already knows that Rusell had an injury on his right shoulder and he really targeted it, a dirty move but it was a smart move just to win.
2507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your guidance is needed on: January 23, 2022, 09:22:05 AM
To avoid mistakes in bitcoin, one needs an experienced person and a guidance to direct him or her on the things to do and the things not to do,because I'm bitcointalk,we have the do's and the dont's to adhere to.

In Bitcoin, mistakes stands as lesson and experience. An experienced person is the only person that can be a guidian.
Things can't be done so easily that is why we need some guidance from those who are knowledgeable about crypto, not necessarily an expert. But I'm sure OP can make his own and gain more knowledge without others, in fact, most of us here have ZERO knowledge of something and that was because we don't get tired of reading, searching online, and watching YT.
We don't be afraid of getting mistakes because this will be the reason why we become eager to learn. And besides, no such PERFECT exists in crypto even in the other form of investment.
2508  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy Crypto Or Have Fun Staying Poor! on: January 23, 2022, 08:53:50 AM
Well in the first place wouldn't the ones able to buy crypto in the first place the not poor ones? Most people use fiat simply because they can't afford to invest in anything else, though if one has savings somewhere that is just sitting in fiat, well now that is the time then to actually invest it in something and not let it sit there. I'd recommend crypto really, but spreading your assets to other investments should also do you good, just so that you can avoid getting destroyed by the volatility of the crypto market. That is, if you have the capacity to invest, if not then honestly worry about living another day before anything else.

As far as I know, people are afraid to show their money to the government. Now they're moving to cryptocurrencies, and that's the only reason I can see why the fiat is losing its value and the increment in cryptocurrencies.
There is a high possibility that people lift their hands from the fiat and force their government to accept bitcoins.
So hold your bitcoins to help us in the future rather than keeping your order in the banks, so we should buy crypto now to secure our future.

They are afraid of getting taxed, that's why and have this crypto as an exit plan. I'm not sure if this is the right way but we're supposed to pay our obligations. But this is not how it affects the value of fiat money, there is another reason for it.

Anyways, we don't urge people to buy crypto, that was their choice. People can improve their living without crypto, however, investing in Bitcoin is not a way far of reaching our goal too fast than the other ways.
2509  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Deep before the Raise on: January 22, 2022, 11:42:09 PM
I do believe that there is always increasing after downtrending but sometimes this took years and not just overnight so if you are saying that there will be a coming hype sooner?I doubt it because what I believe is that this will took years.

at least after new halving?

5here will never a continued increase for couple of years it is always pumping then dumping.
Yes of course, there will be pump after the dump or a correction after the bull run and it's nothing new. The Bitcoin price will always fluctuate due to different traders all over the world plus there's always a correction after the bull run. This is how the Bitcoin market live they buy and they sell something it doesn't matter what it is they don't seem to have a choice.

Just like what the above said, hodl is the only choice they have or they will be giving the joy to someone if they tend to sell it during that price. I know that the panic meter is in extreme fear but this is just a temporary test so hodl.
As to see, only those who have a new experience in dumps could think about selling while the rest are holding. This means that people had already learned from their past and are able to make it right now. I was glad to see no major sell-off happen this time, quite unusual compared before but the good this about this is it helps to slow down the drops and might it lead to early recovery as we expected.
It may be, we could see the market is in recovery next month, not that long, not that like 2018-2020 long bearish season.
2510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Growth of Bitcoin? on: January 22, 2022, 11:16:54 PM
El Salvador has legalised bitcoin and just for a thought I was evaluating that the country purchased btc in 30k range and after a few weeks purchased in 50k range and now it's dumping and again seems to touch 30/40 k range. Such a huge volatility means big players are manipulating bitcoin. So is that good for motivating other countries to make it legal tender as currency? The whales have deep roots in btc and it will always be a drawback for the organic growth of Bitcoin. And donot forget blockchain technology is known by bitcoin! Am I right?
Everything you see in the cryptocurrency market is not really about whales and manipulation. Sometimes the market can just be going up and down due to the demand and supply; the thing that moves the price is basically demand and supply, and we have been told times without number that when the demand is high, the price increases, and when demand is low,it decreases.

So, it is not every time that you see the price drop that it is being manipulated.  It can just be a normal fluctuation of the price. Furthermore, Bitcoin has really grown too big, and it would be very difficult for anyone to manipulate it this time around. So, it is mostly all about demand and supply. And of course any country that would adopt Bitcoin would still adopt it, they already know that’s how it is.
Not at all. The market is too big for now to blow the blame into them (whales) for manipulating the market, I guess they are not enough to move the market. There are several market players that could affect it but at this time, I heard nothing FUDs, banning issues, SEC issues, this decline had come naturally and I think, this will also recover naturally. That is why I don't even bother myself thinking about selling off, but what I just did is to keep calm and hold coz I know this will be over soon.
2511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: January 22, 2022, 12:23:36 PM
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight tipped to not be given green light in Las Vegas
A potential fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul in Las Vegas is unlikely to be sanctioned.
Former UFC champion Michael Bisping believes that strict rules set by the Nevada State Athletic Commission mean that an exhibition encounter will not be licensed
Source: https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/boxing/jake-paul-vs-mike-tyson-las-vegas-michael-bisping-b1996238.html

So, the fight will likely to be postpone as the state of Nevada won't sanction this fight and give a green light to make it happen. I guess the promoters and the management now were busy finding another place just to make this fight happen as lots of people, including me, are already looking forward on this fight even if it's an exhibition match. Hopefully we can hear/see an update about it this week.

I don't understand the legal intricacies of US state laws at all, but are there any licensing requirements for exhibition fights? I assumed that since there are no belts at stake and in fact this event is more related to the show than to the sport, then what could be the obstacles to its organization? I hope we will see the resolution of these incomprehensible problems in the near future.

Now become aware of this too. There are already lots of exhibitions fights where Logan Paul is involved. All those fights are properly and smoothly arranged. Why it turned out that Mike Tyson vs Logan Paul exhibition is now a subject for some conditional requirements before it will be held.

But should we expect this fight will really happen?

We have never ever seen Tyson or Logal is vocal about the fight since the year changed.

I haven't been following all of Jake Paul's exhibition fights, but I guess he is yet to set foot on the Vegas ring.
As you can see from the article, Michael Bisiping a former UFC champion said that It's difficult to get a fight license in Las Vegas especially that It is only an exhibition match.
It is not the fight that actually causes some issues, but the venue. So, I guess the only solution for this is to look for another venue and not in Vegas.

If Vegas will not allow it, there's no option but to choose a different venue. Besides, the biggest revenue of this fight might be coming from the PPV, so the venue is not a big deal, the most important is that they will make the fight entertaining so people will get the value of their money.
2512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 22, 2022, 11:40:49 AM
Both of them are using the trash talks of Casimero as an excuse that they will not fight him because they are disrespected. These boxers are emotional, they are in a boxing business and yet so sensitive.
It's not the first time we see boxers that are trash talkers in able to attract the audience for their fights. Thurman did it to Pacquiao as well so, I think it's not really of their kind and they're just using it not as an excuse but to boost the audience of their fights.
Emotional, I don't think that they are. Honestly, they're one of the best people that can control in great with their emotions since it's not just a physical sports.

Regardless of the reason why other boxers are doing trashtalks, it should not be a big deal as long as it wasn't below the belt. PH boxers are not that trash talkers until Casimero came up. It's good and there's no problem with that but to trash talk other PH boxers and even Freddie Roach's way of speaking, it's already below the belt.

But even with that, I'm still eyeing Casimero to reach another milestone in his career. Maybe he will become humble once he managed to become the unified champion on their weight class.

We should be glad that we have a boxer who loves to trash talk. lol.

Despite Casimero loves to trash talk, I still like him as a boxer because he delivers and he is a champion now, that's all that matters. We have to put in our mind that trash talking is normal in boxing, it's a business and it's just his style to attract fans.
2513  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop or continue trading on: January 21, 2022, 11:18:36 PM
Well, trading also makes people addicted because that's why emotions are an important thing that we need to control. however, it is very natural to lose in trading, especially when we move without any information, and rely on speculation alone.
Personally, I would probably stop trading and do some observation and research on why I keep losing money doing it. I have thoughts like repeating things without studying and identifying them will only give the same thing.
It is not addictive. It becomes more fun when you're actually earning more and that's why people are staying on it. As you trade, emotion is part of your decisions.
If you're relying on your emotion, you're going to fail in trading. Stopping for a cause is better than continuing like you're aiming fire at no target and just fire it everywhere.
Stopping won't make you little and it's like a meditation time for you to think of what's the next better move that you should do.
yeah, if we quit it doesn't mean we are losers, it is just to see what would be the best thing to do rather than to lose everything we have.
5 times (at least) consecutive losses is a sign already that we have to quit coz it is nowhere to go. It may be we can come back later if we are already prepared and knowledgeable enough, as sometimes we need some break in order to find out where we are getting wrong. This is what I did before and it was the best thing to do.
2514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto faucets (good and bad) on: January 21, 2022, 12:59:31 PM
Joining crypto faucets isn't bad, unless if you'll get nothing from them. But yeah, we can't expect them it gives us much, not much as $1. if were not deemed doing complaint of receiving small amounts then, that's good. Maybe within a year of doing this, you can earn more...

https://cryptoprofits24.com/crypto-faucets-list/

I'm not sure how these faucets works, maybe someone had even try one of them.
2515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It won't hurt on: January 20, 2022, 10:30:47 PM
It won't hurt to have 100,000 shiba inu coin in your wallet you know, I'm saying this because I used to have 1,000,000 doge coin in my wallet but got tired of holding it and sold, we both know how much that it today so we can't say if shiba can make its way to where doge coin is right now, it won't hurt to have some in holding
Is Elon musk endorsing Shiba Inu? I don't think so, what happened to the success so far from Shiba Inu is still the same thing you promoting which is fomo (fear of missing out) on Shiba Inu, but playing the Dogecoin card, I don't think Shiba Inu would achieve the Great success Dogecoin had, and infact I don't think Dogecoin would repeat the success, meme coin to me a temporary and I don't see them as surviving for long.
That is totally different direction they have and Doge had might have the chance to survive as it was been in the market for many years, unlike Shiba Inu. It doesn't matter who endorses them but what it matters a lot is the usefulness of the projects and it was to see that they have different purposes for their creation but this dogecoin has been proven already and many Traders are currently using this.
But yes, they are not a good investment especially when we are aiming for the long-term, they are just good at hype.
2516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The faith of Altcoins in 2022 on: January 20, 2022, 09:50:13 PM
History may always leave an impact but what had happened in the previous years will be totally different from this present year. Bitcoin has been backed already with different big institutions and so its massive adoption has been starting to take place already. And once bitcoin will be in a very good position, it will also create a very positive impact on the part of the altcoins.  For now, coins have been declining due to the expected bearish season but i think once this will be over, bitcoin and altcoins will start to surge and skyrocket again for their new ATH this year. So keep the faith and don't panic.
I also think that we are going to have a good year for bitcoin, however I am not so sure this is going to be true for new altcoins, my reasoning is the next, when bitcoin is growing up in value in a rapid fashion people begin to look for all kind of altcoins where to invest their money.

Were still optimistic about the market despite the correction we have now. Perhaps, as we can see Bitcoin had made a huge spike just a few hours from not which I believe is a sign for the recovery and surely altcoins will do to follow.
Well, I'm not going to think that this year 2022 is another bullish year for crypto, not like last year. I hope I was wrong but mostly it happens that after the bullish season bearish had come next. If the price of Bitcoin will be able to sustain higher than $40k, I was definitely good at it for altcoins will never it dumps like before.
2517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 20, 2022, 11:39:37 AM

I don't know the reason why he said he has an injury if he will not disclose it. If he will still fight despite the undisclosed injury, then he cannot make it as an excuse if he lose, or does he prepare it already as an excuse if he loses in the fight? Nowdays, it's hard to trust because sometimes they are using an "injury" as an excuse for the fight to be postpone or worst to be cancelled.

The chance that odds will be changed after this revelation, I don't know if bookies will buy this reason or it can also be a trapped.

But you are right, why bother to tell this one into the public if doesn't like to reveal his real condition, either its or excuse this fight should continue.

Lots of fans are waiting and hoping to see Magsayo to win, even there's a slight excuse from Russell's camp probably it will still benefit Magsayo

if he wins this one. Wink

I check the odds out of curiosity, and it seems like the odds remain the same. In my bookie, Magsayo is still 3.90 and that was even higher than before which I think was 3.80. Well, maybe this news is not verified or bookies does not believe that it will change the chances of Magsayo to win.
2518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 20, 2022, 11:07:35 AM
There's also some rumors that the management wants to fire Frank Vogel this season as they aren't happy by the results of the team.
I'll be glad to see that happen, the Lakers are struggling a lot and they will not make it to the playoffs if they cannot win especially at home. I think that's enough, in this game, we've seen it's not only the players who had the problem but most especially the coach decision making was wrong. Lakers already at number 8 now, how many games they need to lose before the management will make a decision to look for other coach?

I wonder if they had any other coaches available or somehow spotted some new prospects that could've help the team. They're placed at the 8th spot in the WCF and they could be placed at the 9th spot if they lost again in their next game against the Magic. Sure their offense is quite good but I don't know what Frank Vogel's thinking that he won't give Dwight Howard the minutes needed as they need another big man but I bet he knows that their defense isn't that good enough to block incoming attacks.

I'm not gonna be surprised If Vogel will be fired in the next couple of game losses. He even benched Westbrook in the crucial 4th quarter versus the Pacers tonight. Because he thinks the other guys that brought a Laker win versus the Jazz last night could still pull it tonight.
The Pacers were them with rebounds because the Lakers are playing undersized since AD got injured.
I also think Vogel should give Dwight enough minutes to help the team and get him to the rhythm.

It might happen though, I read from articles that Vogel is being treated on a game to game basis. So against the Jazz, he got lucky and escape with a win.

But not against a tough team in the Pacers, heck they even had a good lead but was not able to sustain it because Pacers are hitting their outside shots. So maybe another lost by them will mean that Vogel's stint as a Lakers coach is over.

Pacers are not a tough them, this team is also struggling. They beat the Jazz but they could not beat the Pacers, boy, they have a problem and they can only fix that if someone will move out from the team, either a player or a coach.
2519  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I need your advice on Bybit vs Phemex on: January 19, 2022, 10:55:23 PM
I am just collecting opinions on Bybit vs Phemex in order to decide on which exchange to trade.
Everything information that you need is on the internet and I think you need to have research for this of which pros and cons that suitable for you API that you wanted to build.  There's a review of Bybit and Phemex exchange platform and both of them has different pros and cons and if you will compare both of them they had the same low profile which is the same result of the review, it's average given 3.5 stars.

3.5 rating is not bad at all, in fact, Binance has the same rating but Coinbase had made it higher at 4.5 based on the site rating.
But if OP is concerned about KYC then Bybit is good for him and that only if he is not a US citizen...
Quote
How Bybit works
Bybit does not have any KYC requirements, so you only need a phone number or email address to open an account. You can deposit cryptocurrencies or use a third party app to buy Bitcoin with fiat (traditional) money.
I don't even try both of them but upon reading their cons and pros, I will choose Bybit over Phemex, not only because of the KYC matter but also of the numbers of currencies accepted, unlike Phemex.
2520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 19, 2022, 01:37:44 PM
So hopefully they've learned from this big mistakes.
They will and I believe it will not happen anymore, they know what the stake on this fight, if Casimero will not show again, his belt will be gone and his future will be compromise, so they'll make sure the fight will not be canceled and they'll pass the weight requirement.
Casimero was given a chance to still keep his belt, the next time he will lose that if he had the same excuse. This is business, therefore its not good for the boxing organization to just tolerate excuses even if it's legal as it might be abuse. Casimero is still in the Philippines, but the money the fight date will be announce, I think he will start his training and keeping it sure that he will be available in the scheduled fight.
