2501  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Strategies changes with time on: September 14, 2021, 11:28:57 PM
Actually, it depends on what kind of trading strategy. Sometimes, the old strategy still works in certain coins and market conditions.
It may be back again to the old strategy that we have ever used.
I sometimes agree that a trading strategy should match the current condition of the market. However, the basic trading should be still the same. At least, we have analyzed it based on the chart and indicators and also fundamental terms.

A trading strategy should always match the current market conditions! Of course, for that, you need to know more than just basics, and in certain market conditions, you will know what kind of strategy to apply! How many strategies do you have in your head is what makes the difference between amateur and pro trading! I believe knowing more strategies is a must for daily (short) and mid-term traders... For long-run trades, it's ok to know the basics and to be patient, I think with these two anyone can try and be profitable, it's more for us amateurs!
This is something that many newbies never really completely get, many are content with only learning the basics and while the basics are important that is not going to be enough to produce profit, we need to try our best to know as much as possible about the markets, this way we will be able to change strategies on the fly and use the one that fits the market the best at the time, but since most newbies only know the basics this is something impossible to ever implement for them.
No just improving our basic strategies but more on improving our knowledge on how the market moves so we can develop more trading strategies that will suit with the current condition of the market. If we can learn to drive in it, our strategies will be more profitable compared to those old ones that will not fit anymore with the unchanging market's condition.

However, no to deny it but there are still old trading strategies that are keep being profitable up to the present so there's no need to change it. Replace it only when it seems you are not making good on it already and its not working in the market.
2502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: G A M B L E R S ❗❗ What are your thoughts on this? on: September 14, 2021, 12:29:42 PM
I would choose "B", that way I can use my skills and if I lose, at least I can learn and improve my skills. Maybe most gamblers will choose a luck-based game but for gamblers that are ambitious and realistic at the same time, they would choose to risk on skilled based games.
2503  Other / Off-topic / Re: Corruption and Sports on: September 14, 2021, 11:50:44 AM
~snip~
people who are financially capable then they would be using up their finances to earn more money even if its means on corrupting something.
That's how greedy people, those who are already rich will get richer and while the poor will continue to struggle and will become poorer. There's no humanity for them anymore, all they aim is to make money even if they will commit a crime, and they are not afraid of committing a crime as they know they are powerful enough that they can get away when they get caught.

Sports are created for competition, but once the betting came in, speculators already starts to doubt the reputation of the sports.
2504  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you want to quit trading ? on: September 12, 2021, 10:59:33 PM
I will not quit trading, because bitcoin has a very huge potential influence in the entire world. I take trading as source of income and I learn more on trading every day. People with different ideas and knowledge about trading gives us more insight in this forum and they help us in moving some steps forward as we really believe in bitcoin.
Your courage won't save you from losing and even you think Bitcoin has a huge potential market gain, you can never rely on it as a source of income. People who had come into trading must know about the risk, sometimes must have also to think if trading is for us or not.
I'm not saying you should step out from trading because it seems you love it and are comfortable of doing it. But for those who are not good at this job, quitting is the best option to take.
Quitting is not the best option i think. Everything in crypto can be learn and i know everytime you failed in trading, reality sucks that you have to do it better and be serious in it. Experience will definitely be the best teacher and for sure, you will learn from your mistakes and failures. I know in time everyone can do better in trading.

However, if you see it negatively everytime you commit mistakes, then you will never be motivated to do trading with more knowledge and skills. In this case, better to stop trading rather than see yourself losing more often.
2505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A good man/woman leaves an inheritance on: September 11, 2021, 11:43:17 PM
As an investor or crypto trader is this a legacy you would want to leave behind?
I'm perfectly fine to do this but perhaps it would take lot of decision making on my end on who to leave this legacy. I don't know if this has been shared or discussed but I think to make it more on a thrilling scenario was by making it an actual treasure hunting, well, it should be by my heirs to find but if circumstances comes and other people may know it that's my problem anymore but I'd share it to them first with some clues. Sounds weird but it's your inheritance and it's your choice or decision on what to do with it.
Crypto assets will be very valuable in the future but leaving as a means of inheritance might be very risky too. So its more on good decision making so it will not create any confusions by the time you'll be gone.

I just want to share my own idea. I think it will be good and easier if we can put all our private keys in a vault machine that will be remain secret until the owner dies. It will only be known once a trusted lawyer read the will and testament to the beneficiaries and also stated there where the key can be found. I think this might be something new but quite interesting.
2506  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 vaccination becoming a criteria to live in the world on: September 11, 2021, 09:58:52 PM
I now see a situation that the world is changing and is coming to a level where if you don't have a covid-19 vaccination clearence or means to verify that you have been vaccinated or have received the latest jab of the vaccine, you won't be allowed to buy or sell. I had in my mind that face mask was going to play this "devil's advocate" but no, the vaccination is getting serious with huge restrictions and therefore looking like it is the devil's advocate.

Apart from the many countries that have been making public statement about the need and compulsory nature of taking the vaccine, I heard in the news barely 24 hours ago about America making it mandatory for big company owners to be vaccinated and show a prove of vaccination of their employees. This is more serious with America taking such steps to ensure compliance , more countries will follow this direction and gradually it will get to smaller businesses, SMEs and then to restrictions on entering banks, malls, fuels stations and etc which will replace face mask. Covid-19 Vaccination is becoming a serious phenomenon and even in Africa and Nigeria, it has started gaining grounds even as the doubt of its existence or and severity is still in doubt from larger percentage of the population.

It was almost inevitable from the start and how it should be really. Unless you have a medical reason for avoiding the vaccination, you are making the solution harder to achieve - which is wiping out the virus by preventing the spread. It will take a long time and likely many mutations, but eventually enough people will have built up an immune defense that hopefully the virus will eventually come to an evolutionary dead end. Right now the toughest challenge is getting the poorest countries vaccinated quickly because they are the most densely populated areas and prone to causing mutant variations due to the environment. There needs to be a final push by richer countries to donate vaccines, because until everyone is safe - no one is safe.
Even in my country, covid-19 vaccines run out easily so that is why individuals are always encouraged to get vaccinated before all the supplies will be totally gone. But there are still group of people who have been hard headed not to take the vaccine due to their unreasonable alibis. So even if most of the citizens are vaccinated, still the environment is not totally safe unless all the people decide to get vaccinated.

There are news coming out that vaccines in the future will be the criteria already if you can go outside your house or better yet stay at home. If you are fully vaccinated, then you are free to go to the malls, banks and parks, but if you are not fully vaccinated, then you are not allowed to go anywhere.
2507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wrong to be a long term holder on: September 10, 2021, 09:28:24 PM
Why do people refuse to take profits when their coins and tokens are surging so high? Should this be called greed or they simply have strong believe that the coins and tokens will worth more in future? Is it wrong to keep holding coins even when they bring 1000x profits cos everyone seem to be talking about 'greed' here and there
long-term holders of course have a good analysis and are ready to take risks that will occur. I'm not saying they are greedy, all crypto users have set the flow to invest both short and long term, and they have studied the market potential well. and even if this error occurs it also does not reduce the finances they have because long-term investments only expect profit targets, all daily needs have been well managed and that is money outside of their investment.
It's just that long term holders are more patient and hopeful that the price has all the chances to get higher than the set ATH. It might be a little greed for sure but i don't think someone might be responsible with your account because its your investment so you have all the right to sell it or not.

I admit it sometimes i tend to be greed because i know the coins will still be worth more and sometimes i became profitable, sometimes i also end up selling at the dip. But i never regret all what i did because i know i'm all responsible for my own actions.
2508  Economy / Economics / Re: @Deloitte: "The fiat currency will be gone in 5 to 10 years". on: September 10, 2021, 05:10:57 PM
They have reasons to believe that it will be gone, given that the current state of research on CBDCs and the overall trends and interests in cryptocurrencies around the world is improving. More and more huge companies, together with banks and governments, are recognizing the potential of digital currencies if it is integrated in the economy, hence why Deloitte thought that maybe the end fiat is nigh. Perhaps their projection is very sudden, but I can see that fiat will soon be outdated and replaced by digital currencies.
As far as i know, even if digital currencies will become mainstream and be adopted legally, i don't think fiat will be totally gone. They will definitely stay and maybe digital currencies will only be integrated into fiat so that fiat will still be functional in the long run.

I know i am very enthusiastic and optimistic about bitcoin and the rest of cryptocurrencies but admit it, fiat is still benefited by the most part of the world so we can never really tell that 5-10 years from now, fiat will lose its value and will be replaced totally by digital currencies.
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shall We Hold Our Bitcoin Like Gollum? on: September 10, 2021, 04:42:27 PM
There are already many people who hold Bitcoin, especially in terms of investment, they have their own investment targets, the most highlighted is the long term. It doesn't always cause the Bitcoin price to fall sharply, because the popularity of Bitcoin is increasing when the Bitcoin price is down... there will always be someone doing a new entry. Someone sells and someone else buys, it will continue like that. The people holding Bitcoin out there won't stop until the future, because we know Bitcoin becoming more looks recognized around the world.
Just never sell your bitcoins all at once and it will make your future becomes secured. I think holding your bitcoin after you started selling some of them for profits will always be a perfect move because bitcoin should not only be as an investment but it should be more of as a currency. Spend your profits as much as you want. After all, you decide for your own because that's what bitcoin is all about, freedom.

I am currently holding bitcoin in my portfolio and i think it will be more valuable as the years pass so probably i will hold it as much as i want and maybe sell it in the future when i want it too.
2510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 10th on: September 10, 2021, 01:45:34 PM
Just a couple of days before this fight, and it's weird that sports bookies are missing this big fight.

They've listed unknown fighters with betting lines already, but this one is not even covered, weird.

In any case, I can't bet on this one if this is not offered by crypto bookies, I don't like fiat base, because they've ask to much info.

Maybe we should remind the representatives of those online bookies to cover this fight since Oscar Valdez has many users here who are a fan of him, including me of course hehe.

I think they forgot that this fight is a go despite the substance controversy that Valdez is into or this is a form of boycott of the bookies for what Valdez has done, what ya think?

No need to bother them, it seems that they are reading this thread:

Although it is not yet open, at least they have opted to include this already, so that's a good news for us boxer bettors.

The only thing to do is just wait, the fight is in 48 hours, so maybe tomorrow they will open the betting already so that's 24 hours for us to pull the trigger on this one.

The complete list of betting odds are now available, you can check the updated market again.
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/boxing/international/international-matchups/valdez-oscar-vs-conceicao-robson-6139c3707c3dc7742835a5e3

Any chance this fight will end up in a draw? the odds is currently @26, that's hard to resist, I think.

That's possible but unlikely because Valdez is the heavy favorite to win this fight @1.39. The odds are pretty much similar to Pacquiao vs Ugas, maybe we will see a big upset here after Valdez had some controversy answering the substance found in the test.

So what's your pick guys?

I think this fight will be tomorrow in my timezone?

That's why we should put our bet now so we will be able to enjoy it more when we are watching live.

^^ Most likely yes, this could end up in a draw but it's hard to predict who are going to win.

Just begs me the question, how is Valdez mind in this fight, he has been accused of using a ban substance and it might affect him psychologically in this fight.

So again, another good fight to watch this weekend depending on your timezone. We love to see another underdog pull an upset here.

He sure is okay, I hope he will not be affected as all I want to see is him fighting but the result is a draw, lol.
Valdez and Conceicao both have an undefeated record, so this should be a fight between the best.
2511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 10, 2021, 12:14:11 PM

That is to be expected by the Lakers, he might be used as bench/role players with 10 minutes per game to give Davis or even Howard a good rest. His best years are with the Clippers and after that he seems to be a journey man. Lakers have a lot of veterans and ageing players, and hopefully the medical staff can keep them healthy for the duration so that the Lakers can get back that championship ring. It's going to be very close in the West as to who will be the top seed.

The Lakers this year has a tall line up, so I guess DeAndre won't be stressing himself too much with Howard and AD in the line up.  Also, he might be receiving enough lob from Rondo and LeBron just like when he was playing with the Clippers.
I'm thinking DeAndre is the best fit in LA from all of their acquisition this year, If he can stay healthy and perform the way he play in Clippers.
Well, the current Lakers roster is the biggest threat in the West anyway.

Rondo will have the liberty for his lob pass to this big man as these big man are used to that strategy. You are right, there's no much burden for Jordan here as he has talented big men surrounding him. If my counting is correct, they already have 4 big men namely.

1. Mark Gasol.
2. Deandre Jordan
3. Dwight Howard
4. Anthony Davis.

These are starers of their previous teams, no reason the Lakers will not be in the NBA Finals next year.
2512  Economy / Economics / Re: Ways to avoid being scammed!!! on: September 10, 2021, 08:38:44 AM
Be responsible and protect yourself from being scammed!!!!!!

It all boils down to this, secure yourself, your account and anything that is sensitive to your finances. You shouldn't be careless on how you leave this information unprotected same goes for your wallet details like private keys, recovery seeds, passcodes etc. You should be aware that scammers are always looking for ways to get this information and access your account to steal your funds.

Just as you have said, avoid unnecessary discussion with people you don't know, scammers are always first to make contact therefore treat everyone that contacts you without your knowledge as scammers until proven otherwise. Security is a subject we shouldn't stop talking about as the scammers are always inventing new ways and improvising news means to trap their victims. The only way to reduce your chances of been a victim is by been vigilant.
Scamming has been so rampant these days as this is not just happening in the crypto world but even in our own real life day to day activities. As more and more people get to engage in this high technology, the scamming incidents got to increase too and they are more after with those newbies in town.

I believe that we get only scam because we let it to happen. So the best thing to avoid it is be more educated and vigilant. Secure all your assets down to finances and always be responsible of keeping them safe all the time. And never trust anyone be it a friend or a total stranger because as long as money is involve, everyone will be tempted and lured once they knew it will be very possible to steal.
2513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: End of bull run so we sell everything? on: September 10, 2021, 08:08:56 AM
If I were you I wouldn't sell all of the cryptos I own, rather sell some of them to get my profits and hold the remaining because I feel the bull run is going to continue for quite some time now.
Sell only an amount that you think will satisfy you and better hold some of them because we really don't know if the bull run will still continue and might reach into another peak. But if the price suddenly dump, never regret, atleast you already sell some of them and got to enjoy them.

This situation will really bother most of us but if we know how to take advantage every event in the market, then we will never be at loss somehow. Bulls and bears will definitely stay, and so we must be able how to deal with them.
2514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: September 10, 2021, 04:05:45 AM
An exciting big fight to consider and it's all happening by the end of the year. There's one more watch to wait for since the biggest fights have happened already and there's one more to wait. What a year to end with this match and I think they're all set and got the hint of the year when they're going to have this. The trio of this match that also includes another boxer makes it more interesting to what we're looking forward after this match but yeah, let's not go down straight to that and just look up to the current and wait until this match comes since there could be a lot of things to happen just like how Pacquiao-Ugas happened unexpectedly.
Is there official announcement about this fight to happen this year? Where it will be held? If this is really true then its a nice event before this year end. These boxers has gain popularity because of their confidence and efficiency on their career and many fans are waiting for this fight to happen. Can Casimero break the record of Inoue as undefeated? We'll find out the moment they face each other in the ring.

I try to search for it, so there's no official announcement for this fight, but it looks like this is going to happen late this year or early 2021. The hype has been building specially the disrespect that Casimero show on Inoue.

We can't answer that, only in the fight we will see if Casimero have what it takes to break and take Inoue's 0. But for sure the odd favorite here will be Inoue.

Inoue will always be the favorite since he is the best in ranking in the current division, however, he has not faced Casimero yet who is a road warrior, so I can't completely say he is the best. The fight will happen this year according to Casimero, he would not say anything like that if there's no basis, so be patient and just wait until the formal announcement is made.

2516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is ethereum taking the crown from Bitcoin as ehtereum reaches $4000 on: September 09, 2021, 11:33:26 PM
Bitcoin dictates how the market sentiments will be like and already as we all know there was a slight dip which saw bitcoin go down pulling all other altcoins with it into the deep which is a clear indication that bitcoin is still king and will call the shots.
As for Ethereum let's give it some credit, it is the king of altcoins and that is something no altcoin will take away from it but won't dethrone btc.
It really won't be dethroning bitcoin. It's been years already since a lot have tried but never any of them did won from that acquisition. So people should stop comparing bitcoin with anything in the market even if it's eth, the 3rd or fourth and so on.
It's just senseless to keep doing that just because you see it pump.
Precisely. There's no point in comparing them because even if the one exceeds the other but its definitely not dethroning since ethereum and bitcoin have different uses and purposes. They are both good investments but never will ethereum come to replace the position of bitcoin.

As what i have seen in the market, bitcoin and ethereum are both struggling to reach their ATH. But in the end, if bitcoin will reach first its new all time high, ethereum too will benefit from it and may even cause to reach its new ATH too as earlier as expected.
2517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is only new to the newbie on: September 09, 2021, 10:56:15 PM
thats why, hard to make bitcoin as real currency. there are many people still dont know how gold or land works, sometime they just buy it for accessories than sell when they need money without knowing the real how much money they get. problem is people must share the information about that one, and remove investment thinking about crypto.
I think there are already a lot of people who have come to know bitcoin but there are also those who are still ignorant about bitcoin and does not even know that its existing. And most likely they are those residing in areas wherein modern technology is not yet fully practice and expect that most of them are illiterate.

But also bitcoin is new to some people who have been believing that its a scam when probably its not. Of course they are newbies knowing they don't know exactly what bitcoin is and its usefulness to the people.
2518  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador retirees protest against Bitcoin as legal tender on: September 09, 2021, 09:44:34 PM
Choosing Bitcoin as a reserve for the elderly is a bold move. Most of the elderly are not knowledgeable about Bitcoin so it is obvious that they oppose the policies of the president of El Salvador and I consider it a normal reaction. I believe Bitcoin will go up in the long term and people have more confidence in the bold move of their president.

El Salvador retirees don't have to vote for bitcoin, president Bukele said in a tweet that for citizens concerned about their retirement funds, they can continue to choose to make transactions in US dollars as usual, using bitcoin not mandatory in the country if they have any doubts about bitcoin.

Actually, the reason El Salvador retirees reject Bitcoin is because they lack education about Bitcoin. We do have to understand that old people have
a harder time accepting something new, so they protest something they don't understand. The government of El Salvador should carry out a more
intensive education program about Bitcoin to the residents of El Salvador, especially the elderly population. Maybe the solution is that El Salvador
retirees can choose to use fiat if they don't trust Bitcoin. I agree with you, there is no compulsion from the government of El Salvador to use Bitcoin.
El Salvador retirees have all the right to protest if they think they will find it hard to understand and use bitcoin as a currency. But i don't think they should be bothered by that since their own fiat is not yet eliminated and they can still use it as much as they can. Maybe its just a misinformation.

While most of the elderly have found it hard to use bitcoin but most of the millenials and even those in their mid age are definitely enjoying using bitcoin because as far as i know, some are already into bitcoin investments even before bitcoin has become a legal tender.
2519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DYOR or just follow famous people? on: September 09, 2021, 08:34:24 PM
Sometimes you do so many research for your investment, but you make a loss at finally. In the meanwhile, your friends just follow famous people or obey some rumors, and they make huge profits.
Have you ever had such an experience?
If you have, how about your friend ?they make a fortune or not?
I understand that everyone would say it is better to not look at famous people and do your own research. However one thing we are forgetting here is that just because you look at what the influencers are saying doesn't mean that we can't DYOR neither. Go check what they are saying because that is usually the places that have enough money to do marketing and 100% guaranteed paid those influencers to say their name. And that is literally the reason why we see so many useless tokens go up.

However just because those influencers talked about a coin doesn't mean you have to buy it, just research it and you will see how great or terrible it is. That's my trick, I check what influencers say and then pick something among them, I still do my research on all of them.
I think DYOR must be applied all the time especially that we don't know if those famous people can be good influencers or not. There's nothing wrong if we come to believe them but we should also do our part and that is keeping researches on what they are making us believe. So get some idea from them but definitely the final say will be coming from us.

Sometimes i also check some speculations coming from big whales and its not really all the time that they are making right speculations so others tend to avoid them before they can create wrong moves just because they fully rely on what those influencers say.
2520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you scared? on: September 09, 2021, 07:56:20 PM
I'm not at all afraid of the current bitcoin price decline, I think this is just a correction and you should be able to take advantage of this situation well like buying when the market is down before the market recovers. because I believe that the price of bitcoin can improve in the near future.
Dumping of prices in crypto is just normal for a volatile market like crypto so we should be used to it instead of getting scared. It will only take some time and then eventually those coins with potentials will recover again. So take advantage of the market while there's a dump and sell it when the price recovers and reaches its peak.

Bitcoin has indeed a bright future to look forward to so let's hodl on to it and keep our faith strong especially in times that is experiencing its dump moments. But honestly, for now i really don't see bitcoin dumping that much as what it only had was just a little price correction that usually occurs in the market.
