2521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 01, 2022, 09:16:11 AM
^^ Right, I saw one interview wherein he confirmed that he will not sign a contract extension with Floyd's promotion and this will be his last fight for them. Although Ellerbe said post fight press conference that he doesn't discuss their boxers contract in public, it seems inevitable. They can't blame him though, Floyd took that route as well when he severe his ties with Bob Arum and let him manage his own career. So this is what Tank's gonna do throughout, and definitely to cut the middleman in Floyd. But I will say that they did a good job building Tank's name in this division and making him a champion and a household name for even a casual sports fans.

Gervonta Davis got a big break with Mayweather Promotion and I think he is surely on the right track if he is trailing Floyd Mayweather into his greatness, that is what I think by managing his own, he can surely become very versatile on his own, but I think he owes his popularity to his promotion and trainers in what he become now, but right now, after defeating Romero, in my opinion, Davis will be lifted in a new environment and now that he is out of Mayweather promotions, there is no doubt that he is in a different league now, and I don't really expect a rematch anytime soon despite the claims of Romero exposing him, and got all the rounds I highly doubted that,
I think he acknowledges what Mayweather promotions has done in his career. He trained with the best and they really help him to where he is right now, no doubt about it. But as a free agent, yes, he will become more versatile, can dictate the negotiations in his own term. He won't change any of his corners soon, including his trainers. They have build a camaraderie, even his mother is involved and hands-on. Everyone saw what happened, and I think we could agree that a rematch is not needed.
2522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin long-term holders continuing to ‘soak up supply’ around $30K on: June 01, 2022, 07:21:32 AM
I have been privileged or fortunate to start investing in Bitcoin when the price was below $31,000.
Good for you. And currently, as the price march to $32k, you might see some good profits already.

There have been so much analysis and speculation s by economist and cryptocurrency analysts but I am very confident that Bitcoin is the best investment for me. I am willing to take the risk and follow Bitcoin to the deep or the pump. Each time I open my wallet I see the red signs, but recently the green signs are more frequent. But the news of long-term holders buying more is good news because I believe it has the tendency of pushing up the price of Bitcoin.
I do hope that you don't just believed those speculators and economist, because there is no expert here. Everyone is free to throw some random numbers and that's it. Long term holders as using a lot of strategy to maximized the price that they are going to buy. So we might as well learn from them on how to accumulate, like buying at the dip and DCA.

2524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 31, 2022, 09:55:53 PM
Nadal's biggest fear has been swept away today, the young Spaniard lost to Zverev. Nadal will be very happy about that. The Spaniard recently lost to Alcaraz, but the pressure on Roland Garros has become too much for him. Now the road to the title seems open for Nadal. A clinch with Djokovic is still a possibility.
It's might be true that Alcaraz is the biggest threat for him, and as he lost to Zverev, maybe Nadal's mindset is very positive right now. But he has to deal with Djokovic first and it's no easy task. He took the 1st first but then Djokovic comes back strong in the 2nd. And so far this is still a toss up, although I want Nadal to win but this might go to the wire 5th in a close to 5 hour match.

Nadal up 4-1 in the 3rd set, he is serving.
2525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sideways huh! on: May 31, 2022, 04:06:14 PM
So $25k-$30 will likely be the range, of course we wanted to see we maintain the upper bound of $30k'ish but we will see.
At least in the last 7 days, bitcoin more than 8%, so that's a significant increased already and the upper bound that you mentioned has been over come. We are now back to $32k, so if anyone has bought it when the price is trading sideways, this could be a great time to check your portfolio and see some growth. So this June might be different, but we shouldn't celebrate yet. Let us wait if we can break into $35k. That will be a huge accomplishment and at least short term the price has rebounded and maybe we can forgot about the Luna effect.
2526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 31, 2022, 02:53:35 PM
In the beginning of the playoffs klay Thompson was a 50-1 shot for winning the NBA finals mvp, doesn't look like a bad bet right now.  If the Warriors win it will very likely be because of steph or klays shooting.  Was gonna pull the trigger and never did, I thought Memphis was gonna beat the Warriors.  OH well.
Yeah, but Klay caught on fire against the Dallas series. But I still except the Steph will really bring his A-game in the finals and hopefully if they win it, he might be the MVP.

And not sure what the odds are for him to win, but it should be lower as compare to Klay. We will see then, Boston will be a big challenge for the Splash brothers because of the former's defense mentality.
2527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: May 31, 2022, 01:59:49 PM
I am glad that this match is finally happening. The only thing I want is to have a honest jury. Adalaide Byrd made a mockery during the first fight and people like me lost our trust with boxing because of that. IMO, GGG won the first match although the jury handed it out as a draw. And in the second match, it was more like a draw, but the jury awarded it to Canelo. As such I don't have anything against Canelo, but it won't be unfair to him if I claim that without the help from the jury he wouldn't have defeated Golovkin in 2018.
Maybe this time they will get a compete judge to score the fight between the two. If I'm not mistaken, Byrd was suspended as a boxing judge after her scoring of the first fight, and if my memory serves me right, she retired after this controversy.

Anyhow, still a long way to go before this fight but it seems we really can't wait for it to happen. A lot of pros and cons and I will say that this fight could still be as close as the other 2, very hard to score.
2528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: May 31, 2022, 01:24:19 PM
Again, I don't know about this opponent of his, I thought he is done with the tune-up, and now he has another tune-up fight? Well, if this is necessary before Garcia will face Davis, then I think I would just accept and watch this fight, I just love to see Garcia fighting Davis and I think I like his chances against Davis.
Maybe Ryan is still not that confident to fight those champions that's why he chooses another easy tune up for him in Fortuna.

And just like the rest of boxing fans here, doesn't look good for Ryan Garcia's image now as he was very vocal of fighting Davis but then his promotions are not going to set it up for him. Money is not the problem as we have seen the Davis can draw crowd. But maybe they think that Ryan is not yet ready for a bigtime fight with Davis as this point.
2529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the market rise in June on: May 31, 2022, 12:43:36 PM
I think it is going to be 50/50 as we are predominantly in the bear market. So we might see some occasions wherein the price will go on green for the whole week and then followed by another red candle. So this June, I expect the same, first two-three weeks will be good with some recovery, (actually we already had some bounce back already, BTC 3% something increased and the markecap at 4% increased. So that is a good sign, nevertheless as I have said, we are in bearish cycle so it's better not to put our hopes of a good increased this June.
2530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Last chance for the cheap 3-digit coins on: May 31, 2022, 11:52:37 AM
This was posted in November 2013 which is exactly when it topped. And it pretty much stayed 3 digits for many years afterwards.

It finally broke the 4 figures again until 2017, due to the possible ETF listing with the Facebook twins. However if you took his advice you would be underwater for over 3 years.

The low was like $175 or $200 or so. So buying there would of been the most optimal. Instead of buying at $1000 during the huge FOMO rally.
Just funny though to see this old thread and it seems it doesn't change at all. Now that we are in the 5 digit level and yet people still thinks that the price is too expensive for them. So they wait till like $20k-$25k range.

But then again, the price suddenly grows again. The lesson is that it's never too late to buy and then just continue to accumulate overtime. That simple and yet effective formula has been proven for years (based on this old thread).
2531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: May 30, 2022, 11:36:54 PM
Back to Inoue and Donaire, I don't have issues on how prepared is the latter. In fact, I believe that he's more than ready for this rematch now.
That's what Donaire said in an interview, he said he is better in the 2nd fight because he already saw what Inoue could do against him.
In this rematch, all he need to do is to make an adjustment and make sure he will not gassed out if the fight will again to go distance.

But the real question is, can he defeat Inoue? Both of them have improved but can Donaire's body manage the catastrophe that the monster of Japan could bring.
No one knows, as per betting odds, Inoue is really the heavy favorites here, so if we based on that, Donaire's chance to beat Inoue is very slim.

this would be interesting if this will be another great upset in the boxing history. inoue has the young blood here but we can't ignore donaire's skills and experience.  now, we will see if donaire's strategy will work on inoue. as he said, he already experienced inoue inside the ring so he knew now where to adjust. but this will be the same for inoue. so this is the battle of strategies then...
Yeah, probably Inoue will used his experience in this fight. And as you have said, they have fought once already and he knows what Inoue can bring in the table. So he will adjust and will try to remember Inoue's weaknesses if he found one in the first fight and try to exploit it in the rematch. Maybe Donaire will really target the chin of Inoue and test it out and if he damages it again like the one he did on the first fight then possible that Inoue might be weaken if he feels the pain of a broken bone in this face specially if Donaire can get to it at early rounds.
2532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: May 30, 2022, 11:08:44 PM
Guys, what's your opinion about these NBA finals!!!?

I've been thinking seriously... do you believe the Celtics can beat the Warriors!!? Maybe something similar to the Cavs comeback from the 2016 Finals?
I think it will be the Warriors that are going to win the NBA finals. And I don't see the Celtics pulling out a Cavs comeback, but the game will be very tough, There will be no 2 point cushion here, the score could be 1-1 and then 2-2 and then 3-3. So I reckon another game 7 wouldn't hurt and for sure we want this kind of game. But in the  end I'm seeing the Warriors capping up this year with a NBA trophy and Curry getting his 1st Finals MVP.
2533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 30, 2022, 10:36:22 PM
Congratulations to the Celtics for winning the ECF. That was a hell of a game, Heat almost made it, if only Butler did not rush his decision, he shots a 3 point instead of attacking, I don't know what he was thinking, maybe he just want his team to be ahead, but his shot is not a high percentage shot, there's a better shot than that. What a waste of effort, they could have a comeback win.

I seriously think that Butler didn't rushed that shot, they cannot make it through the end of the game if he forced an OT. That is why he suddenly tried to shoot a long three even though he can make a 2 point shot if he chose to attack the paint. They were already tired and Bam Adebayo cannot force himself in the center because he was also busy on offensive while the others cannot make a shot.

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics especially Jayson Tatum for winning the ECF MVP award.

Jason Tatum deserves that award, he was a big contributor to the success of their team, so now it's going to be Curry vs Tatum as they are the best players on their respective team. It's a different kind of ball game, back to zero, and hopefully, a game 7 is possible again.
Yeah, it is expected that Jason Tatum will win the ECF MVP award no doubt about that.

And the Heat losses big time, they have their chances to win game 7, only if Butler hit that crucial 3 point they might win it as they will have a 1 point lead. But that's how the game is, and then the Heat again started slow that gives them a hard time to trying to get close as Boston is not going to give up that lead easily specially in a game 7.
2534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 28, 2022, 08:01:16 AM
I'm pretty sure the Boston Celtics will now end the series later. Miami Heat already did their best but it's clear they can't stand a chance to bounce back in this series. Playing at the Celtics arena, the crowd will boost their strength to finally end the series. It will be Celtics vs Warriors in the Finals.

Seems not a good match to me even though Miami will win in this series. Golden State Warriors is already an automatic winner for me in the NBA Finals. Never seen any reason why the Warriors should struggle at the ECF Champion.

It's pretty intense game so far though, the Heat had a good start and then the Celtics has to claw back in the 4th quarter.

They are currently tied at 99 with 2 minutes to go, this game could go either way so let's see who will earn the right to face the Warriors in the finals.

Edit: Heat now leads 99-104, 1:25 minutes to go.

Heat already got the game 6 and they are now forced to do the game 7 round. A healthy Jimmy Butler is too much for the Boston to handle plus the help of effective Lowry and Tucker. The game was so intense and I'm surprised that Boston keeps losing in there own home court even with there match against Bucks. Game 7 will be do or die so I expect a very close fight in there next game. Celtics is really exhausted in case they won the series because they already have a back 2 back game 7 match before the finals.  Cheesy

Exhausted? I don't believe in that, if they will be in the NBA Finals, they won't feel that because they are hungrier to win than feeling the tiredness. Celtics is going to avenge their loss in game 7, and the bookies believe in that, reason why they are still the favorite now with -2.5 currently.

Heat ML looks so easy for majority of the bettor, but it's not gonna be easy.
I agree, I don't think that the Celtics is exhausted in this game, it's that the Heat has more heart to win and wanted to force a game 7 at their homecourt. I'm just shocked though to see that they are still the favorite despite their bad performance. Jimmy Butler is back and so is Kyle Lowry, and they are good at shooting in their homecourt, I expect Struss and Caleb Martin or even if Robinson will allowed to play, they are going to shoot more 3 point in game 7.

There's an update about Tyler Herro's status.
Quote
Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said Herro (groin) is doing "everything he possibly can" to convince the coaching staff and trainers that he can play in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.
He badly wants to play and help the team. Sweet kid.
Because of that, I am going full blast for them. Miami Heat ML. Win or lose, they got my support. Adding Over 202.5.
Play hard, and play smart, are two of their key ingredients to winning this game. I know Butler will do anything to make Game 7 happen but the other players should have the same mindset as him if ever Herro will not be available. Give everything on this game and think about Game 7 later. One game at a time.
I taking the Over 201.5, 1.89, that's a good odds for me in this game. Even if they started slow just like the last 2 games, I think this score can still be get over with, if Tatum will score more in their home court and then Butler or Herro play good offensively to stay away from elimination. I'm not that confident of the -8.5 line for the Celtics, this is a do or die game for the Heat and maybe there are still some fire on them to make it 3-3 series.
Yeah, the Over was definitely a hit, even if I go higher and could get a better odds. Anyhow, the Heat forcing a game 7, what? when we think that they are on their way out, Jimmy and Lowry responded with a great performance from both of them.

They are still the underdog though in game 7 at their home court. But I will still go with the Over again at 197.5 (opening line).
2536  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens if BTC's price falls to $8,000? on: May 28, 2022, 07:04:35 AM
we may be in a bearish market these days but i don't think we will fall below $20k. but if it will, would it be a very good opportunity to stash some satoshis? most noobs are regretting that they haven't joined when it was still cheap and even right now, it is already a good one to slowly collect and accumulate your sats.
the stakeholders are different now, so i don't think it will crash to a very low price. just always keep an eye on the market.

There is no guarantee that the prices will not fall below 20K. I would in fact say that even 10K level is not impossible. Whenever the cryptocurrency prices stay at lower levels for an extended duration, there will be all sorts of doomsday predictions from the financial experts (most of whom hate crypto because it stands against the fiat-based system). At least some of the investors will panic and end up selling most of their coins with heavy losses. But intelligent ones will be using these dips as an opportunity to accumulate.
Of course there is no guarantee, but every price range is possible? be it the prediction of $100k minimum next bull run or the price hitting it's previous all time high of $20k. And that is the beauty of it, I mean no one can predict it accurately and yet still we chooses to be in this game because of the many opportunities that it can give specially in the future like accumulating in bear market and then selling at the next bull run for profits.
2537  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your fill the bag Bitcoin price? on: May 28, 2022, 06:38:49 AM
Today was not a good day for Bitcoin. Ethereum looks like it’s about to break the yearly low, stock market had a nice rally and Bitcoin went down. Means it has decoupled finally however the wrong way. We were expecting for crypto to rally when stocks go down but we got the opposite.
That's weird though, if bitcoin and stocks decoupled recently. And it's scary because we might go down deeper while stocks are going to rally and recover. It might be the bitcoin investors with billions gone from our market simply moving to stocks now?

Right now it’s not looking too good in the near term, the $25K can easily get tested sometime soon. Especially if Ethereum breaks the $1700 support. On the usdt pairs it already broke the low such as like on Binance.
A price that everyone is waiting, $25k or lower could be the time to fill our bags. As for Ethereum, I still remember when it went below $100 way back in 2018, those where the days that you can really buy them at very very cheap.

2539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Western Conference Finals (Warriors vs Mavericks) on: May 27, 2022, 11:17:08 PM

Warriors is just a tough team to beat after all, I think they now have all the odds to be the champions once again in the NBA, they're up in the rankings once again. Those outside shootings are just impossible to contain from the Warriors, they are a different breed tbh. I think it will be Celtics vs. Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Well, they have proved it before and they did it again this year. This only means that they don't really need KD to win those championships before, KD needs them.
What the Warriors only need is being healthy 100%. Iggy wasn't even playing, he was a great addition for both offensively and defensively.
I'm glad to see them once a again on the biggest stage.
I am also expecting the Celtics to win the ECF.
They snatched out being champion without KD as I remember,, it was just purely those former team members curry,Thompson, green and now some additional which do plays well on their role even though health would be the main issue yet these fellas are really that prone to injuries just like what happen on some of them which do really reults into long time rest which did really affect overall performance of the whole team. Celtics vs Gsw for sure on last or finals.

KD though was a big help as he was clutch in the games that gave them championships and KD was the MVP. So yes, the core of Curry, Thompson and Green is still intact right now, but we should give KD his credit during his time as a Warriors.

But now that he is gone, the core is working very hard to win another ring. And with the help of Poole and Wiggins, they could be the NBA champion this year.
2540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: May 27, 2022, 10:48:29 PM
Here I think it is difficult to determine the winner in advance, yes, Haney is younger than Kambosos by 5 years, but at the same time he has more fights 27 against 20, he also wins more often by knockouts and therefore he should spend less time in the ring, but this is not so because he wins by knockouts usually in 3/4 of the fight. So I think in this fight the chances of boxers are about 50/50

kambosos is too much for Haney. His punching speed, foot work, stamina are highly underated. And although he throws punches in an awkward angle, he's got good counter. He is indeed a student of Floyd. Unless Haney is smart enough to counter kambosos fast handspeed and good at cutting distance, there's a huge chance that he might be KO.

I like your confidence on Kambasos, because looking at the betting odds, looks like Haney is too much for Kambasos, but of course, let's see if who will win becasue this is definitely a great fight between the two undefeated champoions. I agree that Kambasos is underrated, I hope he will prove to us that he is a legit champion so he will gain the respect he deserve.

I think these boxers have an equal chance of winning because of the fact that they have their own different skillset, it will be just a matter of timing and correct execution to make a successful punch that could lead to a victorious but. Anyhow, there's also a chance of KO in both boxers but the chance is just slim as this would likely result into a UD. Expect a good fight people because I bet that's what we will see soon.
Might be a split decision for Kambosos? He did it against Lopez and actually in his 3 last fights. So this might likely be the case, going to the judges card and Haney winning on one judges and the other 2 giving it to Kambosos. I'm not seeing any knockout because both have a not so good percentage. But for sure this is one interesting fight, the war has started as they have been talking trash outside of the ring already.
