1541  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Die or Pump Up in 2023? on: December 29, 2022, 04:03:15 AM
Lol. If you believe in Elon Musk, then go ahead and buy Doge. You are probably one of them Doge armies that are panic buying Doge every time Elon sarcastically mentions it.

But who is Elon really in the Bitcoin community? Why do you believe in him or his words? They are not factual statements even. They're just hollow words that actually mean nothing. I really wonder why there are so many people who seem to treat Elon as a kind of prophet that everything that comes from his mouth is meaningful even if he is apparently just trolling.
Yes, I guess Elon Musk is already out of the Bitcoin community, specially on how he flip his stance on BTC, that was the last straw and then he shifts his attention to Doge becoming their father and probably the biggest holder of them now.

So for the majority of us, I don't think that we will be influence by Elon Musk, others might love his personality, but bitcoin community is hard to please specially if you make a U-turn and suddenly says that Bitcoin is not environment friendly and others negative stuff.
1542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BANKMAN-FRIED PANIC GAMBLES TO REPAY DEBT on: December 29, 2022, 03:36:52 AM
This is what worries me, the guy not only has the money but he has connections everywhere which can make a case like this to go away, I hope it does not happen but the more I think about it the more likely it seems, and if this were to happen the worst part would be that while he walks away free from this debacle to enjoy all the money he stole, those that remain and are part of this community will have to go through new and more heavy regulations all because of him.

Indeed those political donations he made with other people's money may come handy now he sees himself in this sticky situation.
All I can say is we all must be ready to cope if this guy goes away with this blatant theft and mismanagement of money, he ruined lifes and make ours a bit more difficult by giving reasons for the most powerful governments on the planet to toughen regulation.

If he wanted to feel the thrill of gambling he just needed to create an account on Stake and play with his own pennies.
Truly, law is only for those who are not rich enough.  Roll Eyes

Why should a billionaire like him play with his own pennies? That's small time. He can't reach his goals with baby steps. He's got millions of his own personal money to squander in casinos. Not only that, he also has access to the billions of money that his clueless customers deposited in his exchange. He must have thought he could use them to try recovering what he lost after Terra collapsed. And yes, he actually used Stake as one of his gambling platforms of choice.
Ok, so he is a Stake user after all, no wonder, one of the most established and the old school as far as crypto betting is concern. Nevertheless, it's very wrong to think that gambling will solved his problems, on the contrary we have seen it just make it worst for him. But I guess that time he doesn't care, he thinks that no one will discover it or at least he can hide it tell he won big and was able to pay back the money he owe to his customer. However, another lesson for us to learn that gambling is not the answer, because obviously it's a big gamble and the odds are pretty much against you here. And in the case of SBF, maybe everything really are wrong in the beginning that's why it collapses and billions of money wipe out in an instant.
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cashless Gambling, your thought? on: December 29, 2022, 03:17:10 AM
I think it's more of a burden to us, specially if gamblers are going to be tax. And as far as I know, government have been giving traditional based casino lenient taxes, because that's one way to attract them to put up a billion dollar business in one's country and then have a pay cut.

So if they are going for cashless gambling to put another tax for us, then I wouldn't be agreeing on that proposal. It will be too much for us.

The argument for KYC and the whole tracking is already there, when you play on a traditional based casinos, to enjoy the perks you have to register your name and other info and same now with the online casinos. So there's no surprises with that already, the real eye opener is the tax.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 29, 2022, 02:52:24 AM
There some ejections on the Pistons vs Magic game. Wagner pushed Hayes hard in their bench and then Wagner ended up on the Pistons bench, Hayes throw and elbow on him so is Diallo coming hard from behind as well. It's good that someone from the Pistons team protected Wagner though and shield him from potential harm. Good thing is that no punch has been thrown in this game but the ejections on the 3 players involved and probably suspension and fines too once the board review it later.
1545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you taken lessons? on: December 29, 2022, 02:34:57 AM
Move it to Altcoin Discussion board because these collapses are not because of Bitcoin. They are entities that over leveraged with altcoins, shitcoins. They were rekted by shit coins, not by Bitcoin.

Did you see MicroStrategy were rekted by Bitcoin yet? Not yet.

Lessons learned by me from their collapses. I am more careful with altcoins and trying to use more % of my capital for Bitcoin.
Yes, it has nothing to do with bitcoin, on the other hand we are the victim of this collapse specially the last one, FTX. Bitcoin was doing good that time, hovering above $20k when suddenly this news broke out and then we go on another lowest lows.

Of course the obvious lessons, "not your keys, not your coins", adage, do not leave your precious crypto to any crypto exchanges otherwise you will be the another victim, another statistics if it collapses because of mismanagement or collapse of the system.
1546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: December 28, 2022, 11:12:06 AM
I don't see any improvement on Caleb Plant though, it's really based on who he is going to fight. For the Anthony Dirrell's fight, we see that Dirrell has no respect on Caleb's power and that was his own wrong doing. And so when Caleb throws that left hook, it was perfect and Dirrell just caught it with his face.

Maybe he has a new trainer and probably executing good techniques, but when he goes on another situation that his back is against the wall or has been hit so much, he will go back to his old style.

And so he will be an open book once again if he goes back to his old style, it's also obvious that David's camp has been studying Plant's new techniques/style that he may have picked from his new mentor and the same to his old ways as well. Also, even if we say that Plant has successfully overcome the young blood, what will be his next step? Face Canelo again where his chances are still the same and will lead him to another dead end. Anyway, that's unlikely because this David got the upper hand because of his exemplary skills that might give Canelo some hard time.

Agree! If Plant's strategy got compromised and he will go back to his old style then he might be dominated knowing Benavidez is really aggressive and he can bring Plant lots of aggressive punches that may land to Plants critical areas, it's interesting if how both will showcase their talents once they are already inside the same ring.

That is expected because it's already given that David will come prepared against Plant, now I'm curious what Plant will do to be in the limelight again. On the other hand, given that David's true aim is Canelo, then it's safe to say that he won't be giving some advantages to Plant that will push him in the corner. Either way, it's up to Plant and David if how will they play their scenarios to have a upper hand until the fight ends.
You are right mate, there are so many factors and intangibles in this fight that there are many scenarios just like how you put it. Both wanted to have a piece of Canelo, for Plant his second time, so who knows, he might have leaern from his 1st experience. On the other hand, Canelo Alvarez has been in the mouth of David Benavidez for some time now that we think he can beat Canelo at this point. So it's gonna be interesting how this fight will turn out and who will land that first shot that will change the outcome of the fight.
1547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Preparing For 2023? on: December 28, 2022, 10:49:18 AM
So, how are you preparing for 2023, what or which altcoin are you buying in preparation for 2023?
I still stick with what gave me good money way back, Eth and Ada and BNB. I didn't invest on shitcoin or meme coins, because that time I say that it's better to have this coin in your portfolio specially when the price is still very cheap. my regret is that I didn't invest more money so that I will get a huge profit, but that's for another discussion.

So that is the coins that I have been buying this year and will continue to do so in 2023, specially if we will have another leg down as the price will be at a discount.
1548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $100k? on: December 28, 2022, 10:13:38 AM
Indeed, many predict the next bullrun will occur in 2024. In this case, it depends on the game of whales in managing the Bitcoin market. Maybe they won't do this before seeing that Bitcoin users really are at a saturation point. Maybe 2024 is not part of the bullrun prediction, but rather a comparison of the history of Bitcoin price growth. So that the whales can change this history to get the direction they want.
It's hard to know where the whales are playing in the market. But I believe they also want profits so at some point or some time they will also expect an increase in Bitcoin. And that moment will certainly be a very good moment if we still keep Bitcoin and haven't sold it at a cheap price. But for 2024 I just want to see how it affects the price of Bitcoin which in time will experience another halving. So all this is not only about the bullrun, but also for halving in Bitcoin.
We should make ourselves that realize that this isnt something a smooth sail ride kind of journey if we do speak about $100k price which is something that it is really hard to break or reach for now basing on the current behavior that we are seeing on the market today.Come to think that we do have lots of tough resistances which we do need to break first before achieving that particular point.
We do know and able to see its potential but its better not to make yourself that impatient on things so that you wont really be getting stressed or really ending up on making bad decisions just because
you are really making yourself in a hurry. Its better to mind yourself on accumulating this current market condition where everything do looks on sale but of course it isnt something guaranteed
that this is the bottom. This is why hesitance is there on making a move.
Right, this is not going to be easy ride for us, just like in 2018 or in 2020 Covid scare that really pull the market so it's capitulation price of $3k and then everyone talks about the market crashing down to 0 including bitcoin. So that time there are a lot uncertainties because of the virus and I will say up to know the economy of countries around the world are affected by it. And it also includes traditional market and bitcoin as well. And so if ever we are going to reach $100k in the future, along the way there could be a lot of challenges as well that we need to overcome.
1549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: December 28, 2022, 09:55:41 AM
This seems kind of like a pointless fight to me. Thurman has been inactive and hasn't beaten a ranked fighter in several years but now he magically became the WBC's #1 ranked contender out of nowhere. Spence should be fighting his mandatory Jaron Ennis or Eimantas Stanionis who has been waiting a long time for his opportunity and has been paid to step aside. The only thing that Thurman has going for him is that he's a recognizable name but I doubt he'll be any more of a challenge than Danny Garcia and Ugas were to Errol Spence.
I would love to see Spence taking on Jaron Ennis or Eimantas Stanionis, but I don't think business wise, it will be a good idea for PBC. Yes, Thurman has been inactive for the last couple of years, losing to Manny and then defeating a overblown 140 lbs in Barrios and he didn't look good at all in that fight. But as we have said already, boxing is a business now, and then don't want to put a big risk on Spence, specially a young and upcoming fighter like Ennis, who is making a name for himself by knocking out his opponents. They want to protect Spence at all cost, as he is one of the cash cow of PBC.
1550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to win gambling? on: December 28, 2022, 09:28:39 AM
I don't see any trick or guide from your ideas about how to win gambling, actually when beginning question with "how" have any answer later from trick and tips if win in the gambling. Should be not advice financial when talking about money management active in gambling, the amateur know about how to manage their money when active in gambling.

Your important points about money management in gambling, I think not relationship with your topic and and ideas wrote because have many aspect different, better change little topic and more focus to "money management controlling" in gambling platform.
Yeah, it's more on how to manage our gambling activity and not how to win as per the subject. Of course, everyone of us has different strategy on our gambling or how to manage our money even if we lose or win.

So for me there is not one size fits all guide, every one has it's own preference on how to proceed with their gambling. We can only advise them as to what the OP has lay out in the beginning, but still up to us whether we want to follow it or not.
1551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 28, 2022, 09:03:47 AM
~snip~

Tired as hell and needs a recovery beer, that's what he said in the post game interview. Just wow! The game, the performance, and those hail mary threes they made down the stretch when they're down by 3 possessions. Whoever was watching this game, you guys just witnessed history.
Luka is indeed got some magic in his hands. How could he possibly sink that last second deliberate missed free throw and the follow up? Lol, it was like the play was designed for him to put the game in OT.
60/21/10 a tough act to follow especially for a PG. A center or a PF may beat this, but then again, it will never be easy.

Luka definitely got it done tonight. They’re saying that’s one of the greatest stat lines of all time. The shocking thing to me is that he’s able to do it in spite of not being the quickest or most athletic guy. He just seems to get the ball in the basket no matter what. Besides the crazy numbers, he did it on 68% shooting from the field. Extremely efficient and impressive. He’ll be an MVP in the next couple years.
Yeah, I agree, it's one of the greatest numbers we have seen in recent years. And I think that's what Luka's strength is, he is not the quickest he admit that, but he was able to take advantage of it and somewhat confused his defenders. And so it became a advantage for him, unless players like Ja Morant for example, very explosive, but sometimes he is predictable, (going to his left), that's why his guard can defend him very well. Unless Luka who yo don't know because of his speed that he is going to pass or not. And so far this season, that is the biggest single point in a game we have seen so far.
1552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 26, 2022, 09:32:29 PM
This season, Aaron Gordon is without a doubt improving. He appeared to be a failure earlier in Denver. He shoots the ball only when necessary, which further improved his efficiency. The defense of Denver is not well-known, but with Gordon, they are getting close to achieving a balance between offense and defense.
If I am not mistaken he is on the list of the most improved player of the year.
Denver Nuggets suddenly became a championship caliber again mostly because their starters are back and healthy.
Murray was feeling it and he is dunking which means the mental problem after healing is gone. That means a lot for players who went through that phase.
Now, I am waiting for Porter Jr. to return from being their sharpshooter, he is not there yet but once that happens they will be one scary team.
I think Gordon was mold into a defensive stopper by Denver, like what Iggy has been when he join the Warriors years ago. And that is why we didn't see flashes of him dunking or scoring like he was with the Magic.

And he didn't need to be a scorer, they have Jokic, Murray and Porter Jr.

But last game, that dunk though, reminds me of Kobe over Nash.
1553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 24, 2022, 04:37:40 AM
Speaking of Casimero, the decision was turn over no contest to knockout by the KBM (Korea Boxing Member's Commission).

Source: https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/othersports/855186/casimero-vs-akaho-result-overturned-to-knockout/story/

Not sure though how will this affect those who bet on Casimero winning by knockout, will casino's also turn over their decision and give the winnings to the bettors? I'm asking this because this is the first time that I see this happening for a a long time.

That's a good question. How about those bets for Casimero to KO Akaho? Will they receive the rewards or what will happen to the bet? Might be from the casino or whatever might be the call with these changes that have been rewarded for Casimero. I did check the last time I remember this kind of event but it was a mistake since the fight I remember is with Pacquiao and Bradley but the decision didn't change but instead they made a rematch and Pacquiao win the fight.
I didn't bet on the KO because as far as I can remember the odds are low, but maybe there are some who bet for the exact round or even the round range and the odds increased with that.

Not sure what body sanction this fight but it seems that it was not one of those 4 organizations and probably it was just sanctioned by the Korean board so they overturn it without any fussed as compare to Manny wherein, they just ordered a rematch because of the mistakes in scoring of the judges.
1554  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Sam Bankman-Fried has been released on bail on: December 24, 2022, 03:11:58 AM
Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has been released on bail after appearing in U.S. federal court in New York on Thursday. Bankman-Fried was told he can live with his parents on $250 million bail secured in part by their Palo Alto, California, house. His release also includes a long list of requirements for him to remain free while he faces charges. He's not allowed to make financial transactions of more than $1,000, can't open new lines of credit, can't leave the house except to exercise and must go through substance abuse and mental health treatment, according to the agreement.

More @ https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2022/12/23/first-mover-americas-sec-scrutnizes-crypto-audits-sbf-gets-bail/

Yes, it's disgusting to see that money can buy you (temporary?) freedom - even in a very clear case of extreme fraud like in this situation.
However, as much as I despise SBF and his atrocious way of trying to weasel out of any responsibility (did you listen to Coffeezilla interviews of him? - hilarious!) let's not forget one important thing:
For this FTX + Alemeda mega-scam to become as big as it did and run as long as it did, we need A LOT of people to look the other way (or be actively involved), while things were already running in a *more than shady* way.
Sure, everyone wants a scapegoat, and probably SBF deserves a massive sentence - however I fear most of the other people that enabled this thing in the first place will not receive similar justice.
Gonna be interesting though how the 2 closest friend and once a lover and the Co-founder of SBF will testify against him, the revelation is going to explode in the courtroom,

Quote
Caroline Ellison, the former chief executive of Alameda Research and Bankman-Fried’s sometime lover, and Gary Wang, a co-founder of the $32-billion crypto exchange, were charged “in connection with their roles in the frauds that contributed to FTX’s collapse,” U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams said in a brief video address.

Ellison, 28, pleaded guilty to seven counts, including wire fraud and conspiracy to commit securities fraud, according to a plea agreement obtained by The Wall Street Journal. The seven counts carry a maximum sentence of 110 years in prison

Wang, 29, pleaded guilty to four counts: wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit commodities fraud, and conspiracy to commit securities fraud. He faces up to five decades behind bars.

https://news.yahoo.com/sbf-girlfriend-ftx-co-founder-030124940.html

So with this 2 also have a case against them, for sure they will squeal what's the inner workings behind, and point everything to SBF to save their faces and get a lenient sentence.
1555  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin high prediction 2023? on: December 23, 2022, 07:36:20 AM
I agree with you, bitcoin price won't be able to hit $20k before the end of the year, but the prediction of a more active market in mid-2023 is pretty vague. According to my prediction, our economy will be much worse next year, although interest rates have fallen, the economy is just now starting to absorb interest rates. That means the economy will stagnate more next year, and the war looks more intense, most likely triggering a new energy crisis. 2023 will be more brutal so I don't expect much.
A good start to price recovery can be expected during 2023. But I agree $20K is unlikely to be hit for the rest of the year.
It is also unlikely that the economic problems that you are worried about in the next year will be completely correct even if the war and inflation are not resolved. I can expect better strength next year in bitcoin after this bloody 2022.

I expect a small bullrun in early 2023, that's maybe above $25K to $30k. But I don't know what the best scenario is about that other than knowing that more and more people are starting to become holders.
It's not a small bull run this bear season, if bitcoin hits $30k that means it's 1.7 times its current price, that's a huge gain while we are still in a downtrend. I don't know if there are any surprises driving the bitcoin price as you say, but my prediction is based on my macroeconomic projections, so I don't put too much faith in 2023. I will wait until the economy recovers, I believe that bitcoin will start to rebound.
Yeah, me thinks that maybe, just maybe, we might hit the price around $30k despite being on another bearish year. I thinking that we might achieved it at the end of 2023, after we might hit lower lows, just one leg down before the final push in the last quarter and then in preparation of the bitcoin halving. The speculators are going to be very bullish that time so who knows. It's almost the end of the year, at $16,800 so we should take it as it is.
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 23, 2022, 05:09:33 AM
Inoue - Fulton fight made possible after Naoya Inoue made WBO ‘Super Champion’ At 118, can become Stephen's Fulton mandatory at 122[1]

According to the article, the undisputed bantamweight champion  Naoya Inoue has been made the WBO "Super Champion".  This means that if ever Inoue goes up in weight he will be a mandatory challenger for WBC/WBO 122 lbs champion  Stephen Fulton.  So Inoue would be skipping the rank and and fight directly for a title fight against Fulton if he petitions the sanctioning body.

Inoue moving up will give way for the possible Maloney-Donaire fight for the vacant title belt.  It was stated that it was ordered by the commission that if ever Inoue vacate the title these two fighters will have a mandatory fight for the vacant world champion.

[1] https://www.boxingnews24.com/2022/12/naoya-inoue-made-wbo-super-champion-at-118-can-become-stephen-fultons-mandatory-at-122/

Makes sense why Donaire stayed at the bantamweight after his defeat because he knows that Inoue will soon leave the division and that leaves him a chance to be a champion again. I just thought that he will go down at the super-fly because that is what he said, but I guess that already changed since he will be fighting against Maloney if the undisputed will vacate his belt.

And for Inoue, that's a hell of a leap he'll be doing if he will vacate his belts because he will be facing one of the champions at 122 lbs. already. I wonder if Bob Arum feels great about this too because I know that he would want Inoue to have a test first before a title fight at 122. Also, I have a question. What will happen if Inoue rejects this mandatory fight? He doesn't have any belts to be stripped of if he will do that because he will be renewed once he climbs. Just wondering.
I don't think that Naoya needs some test in the 122 lbs, it's just 4 lbs away and from what we have seen on Casimero, he moves up in weight and bring his power against Akaho in the super bantamweight.

For sure Arum and Top Rank are very much confident that Inoue can past the litmus test at 122 lbs as well. Fulton will be a tough match, but then again, with his power and improved defense and movement, I think he can dethroned Fulton in a very tough but very competitive fight.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: December 23, 2022, 04:22:12 AM
Alright, anyone with a wild guess?

Who's the other fighter that has a chance to face Errol Spence next if Thurman won't be his next opponent?

I'm not talking about boxers that you preferred but those boxers who are already on Spence's list, if there are any, or currently in the rumor.

Not sure if only Thurman was being considered.
Hard to see who is going to face Spence not name Thurman at this point. That is the only fight that make sense for Spence, unless he wants Ennis or Ortiz Jr. But it seems that he is avoiding this two for now. And if there are other name fighters that he will face, for sure he will be criticized not just because of them not wanting a Crawford fight, but instead fighting lesser opponent than what we expect of. So it should be Keith otherwise, it might not sell to the fans.
1558  Other / Archival / Re: 2022 was the second worst year for Bitcoin on: December 22, 2022, 04:10:31 PM
I believe that this year will close in much the same way as 2018 and we should not expect any Christmas bull rallies or anything like that. I don't really understand why people are still hoping for some sort of rise in bitcoin when the market is on the verge of a crash and negative news comes one after another. What resources will be used to conduct the bullrun? Now it is worth hoping that Bitcoin at least retains what it has, and does not fall even lower.
Seeing poor resistance in the bitcoin market for this year. So that there is no good accumulation for bitcoin on the bullrun path. This time it also reminds me of your post about the four-year cycle, where all the chaos will culminate when the market again shows a green line on the PC or Android screen that we have, for this year there are almost no resources that can bring bitcoin at a higher price.

Keeping what bitcoin currently has, it looks so lined up and quite organized, it's time to ENJOY.

Quote
With just over 2 weeks left until the end of 2022, Bitcoin is at risk of closing Q4 in the red, meaning that 2022 will be the first all-red year in history, quarter-by-quarter. 2022 brought many anti-records to bitcoin.
Red is synonymous with bulls, looks fierce but scary !!
Never mind, we will wait for the green line in the following year.

Quote
I hope, relying on the theory of the cyclical nature of the bitcoin market, 2023 will still be the beginning of the recovery of the crypto market in general and bitcoin in particular.
Always waiting for 2023 for bitcoin to recover everything, so 2024 is the next ATH milestone for bitcoin.
Milestones or new all time high should occur in 2025, just like what we have seen in 2017 and 2021.

Of course right after the bitcoin halving, we might see a huge increased in price in 2023, but it's nothing to compare to a new all time high that we might have to see in 2025, numbers like 6 digits have been thrown around, but we will have to see.

For being the worst year for bitcoin, it's kinda scary but we have seen this movement in 2018 and definitely in 2020.
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana’s position in the space. on: December 22, 2022, 03:44:35 PM
Not really sure why we have Sol threads as of late, did it really have a lot of investors from this community? Or they just jump on the hype recently and then when the price goes down, everyone is afraid of their investments going down?

In any case, it's really hard to predict where Sol is going at this bear market. Every is taking a hit because of what had happen to FTX and to Terra Luna as it affected the market negatively. So for now, no one will know where we are heading, even ETH, the top altcoin is also down big this year.
1560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: December 22, 2022, 03:08:13 PM
I'm sure the promoters are hashing out their terms right now, and we'll probably get a lot of talk from Fury's side about how the fight isn't going to happen, and Usyk is taking his time. You know, the usual. I imagine then they'll be more fighting talk, than the banter we've seen recently. Potentially from both sides as Fury starts to annoy Usyk.

It has to happen either that or the Fury vs Joshua fight. No other fights make sense, especially with these fighters being at the tail end of their career.
But it seems that Usyk is not being affected by Fury's action in the public?

Usyk standing his ground, he will take his time and if this fight is going to happen, it will obviously happen next year. There are talks that it should be in Ukraine, but I doubt it.
