1641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: November 25, 2022, 08:25:49 PM
Naoya is going to fight Butler as 118 lbs to unify the belt, yes that is good for us boxing fans. But what we really wanted to see is Naoya jumping to 122 lbs, a new division for him and together with Casimero shake it up a bit and make the division very competitive with those two going up. So it's a win-win for us boxing fans for next year and this division will be watch by experts and casual fans.

No offense to John Riel Casimero but it's too early to include his name on tough fighters in the Super Bantamweight. Naoya Inoue is ranked no. 5 by the WBO right now in the Super Bantamweight. Akaho is ranked no. 8. That's already a big reason not to mention Casimero for now in the discussion. And likely, if Inoue will move up in that division, he probably ends up being in the top 5 without a sweat with only a few fights before being considered for a title match.

Anyways, super bantamweight rankings are varied for each boxing organization and I'm just giving an example that even though Naoya Inoue is still not moving up, he was already given a ranked no. 5 by the WBO in the super bantamweight. The distance is too far between him and Casimero.

But I hoped Casimero will soon catch up so that their supposed fight against Inoue will be possibly materialized.

I won't be surprised either that Naoya Inoue will be in the Top 5 once he formally announce his move towards the Super-bantamweight division, he seriously don't need to climb the ranks from the bottom to the top because it will be a no brainer as he will surely defeat them little less unscathed. With his power, he is already compared to the champions of the super bantam and people already had their own speculations about it. But let's be patient for now because it will take some time first before Bob Arum cuts Inoue loose to fight the top dogs.
Inoue already proven himself in the bantamweight, and so when he goes up to super bantam and probably as a unified champion he will be rated higher, so yeah probably in the top 5 of all governing organization at 122 lbs. They will have somewhat given him the respect being their champion.

I think Bob Arum is already confident of Inoue, he already clean up the division, beating Donaire and all other champion at 118 lbs. So I think Arum is confident enough that Inoue can do good in the 122 lbs and maybe he see in him the next Manny Pacquiao, climbing divisions and becoming a champion.
1642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 25, 2022, 08:05:19 PM
Pat Bev suspended for three games for shoving Ayton in case you didn't know yet. The punishment looks harsh but I guess that's what repeat offenders get. I'm all for defending or protecting a teammate from being disrespected but do it in front of their faces hehe. Lakers probably still lucky since they'll have a back to back game against a struggling Spurs.
Yeah, saw that on my feed as well, and as we have said, Bev has been pesky defender, but in terms of protecting his team mate he will be the first one to do it just like in this case against Ayton.

And Booker saying that Pat should stop pushing players in the back?

Kindly remind him though.
1643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 25, 2022, 07:44:54 PM
-cut-
That means that oddsmakers think there is 64% chance of Davis winning while giving Garcia a 36% chance.
I will agree with these odds and bet for Tank.

Compared to Garcia, his combos and movement seem way more composed and technical, and being a southpaw doesn't hurt his changes. While Garcia seem to rely on his natural unpolished talent, and just raw aggressive fast style, using surprisingly quick and powerful attacks even as a defence. Even though those look clumsy compared to Tank, he seem to get ton of power under them somehow.

My guess is that Garcia's style of defence won't work agaisnt technically skilled combos by Tank. Garcia's aggressive style is intimidating but very much defeatable and while his height and reach seem to do add to that and give him confidence, it's all appearances and something that can be taken away fast.

What a great way of describing both boxers, you surely have aced the pie mate!

What you said was correct, Ryan Garcia is just relying on his raw predictable skills, he is just using his speed to create an opening to give deadly punches that will surprise his foes but this will be different because Tank Davis is not yet on his dictionary. He haven't yet fought another boxer who got more skillset and talent than him, that is why Ryan got almost no advantage other than his size which certainly means that his chances against Tank Davis is not that pretty.
And that's what make this fight very interesting and intriguing to say the least. Both has the ability and has his own skillset. Although Ryan is taller, but somewhat he doesn't have the movement, he just chase his opponent and Davis might caught him with his upper cut or even a left hook.

Not sure what Goosen's strategy for Ryan because they really need to have a plan as they can't go right directly on that power of Tank just like what Rolly Romero did. He thinks that he can take Take the power, but he was very wrong because once it hit his chin, it was over. And Ryan jaw has been tested already, although he recuperated, at least he has taste the canvass already and it was a left hook that put him down.
1644  Economy / Speculation / Re: How fast will Bitcoin fall down? on: November 25, 2022, 07:23:02 PM
-snip-
There's actually a lot of belief about bitcoin never becoming 0 again in the future, but we can never be completely sure of that. Bitcoin is a currency built on user trust that has received many new innovations as a type of means of payment. If any bitcoin user loses faith in bitcoin, it is clear that this coin will become worthless in the future regardless of the case. However, things as bad as this are not really thought about at this time considering that bitcoin is in a period of development which is potentially the most desirable as a new type of safe currency.
But a lot of bad things that had happen to us in the past, worst in the Mt. Gox, and we are going to look at the old post here and even in the social media back then, they said that bitcoin will go to 0. But it didn't happen, on the contrary it continue to grow.

Price volatility is another thing that is normal, but the impact of various other crypto issues can always affect the price of bitcoin. This means that bitcoin can go down and up at any time as long as there are fundamentals that influence it.
It's already part of the ecosystem, bitcoin and crypto in general is very volatile, more than any other assets and commodities out there. We can lose -20% in a given day, but then recover +40% in the next couple of days. No other matter can do that, and perhaps it was due to our market is not regulation or there are no central authority who can control unlike stocks.
1645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots on: November 24, 2022, 09:42:45 PM
The actual problem is the users because they are using exchanges apart from what it is supposed to be for example to keep their cryptocurrencies for long period. Maintaining a crypto wallet isn't that complicated but for someone who is having millions worth of crypto definitely needs more responsibility for the security of their funds but it doesn't mean they have to seek help from the centralized service.
This is another costly way of learning for them and for sure not the last exchange to experience the same faith. We should adopt hard wallet now and store are crypto there which is more safe. What happened to FTX is the worst, we didn’t see that their platform will be close in just a week after the issue has been exposed. This is a good call to go back to the decentralized platform if its for the benefit of my own safety, I’ll start doing this.

This definitely showed that even top exchanges can collapse without a warning.
So yes, another hard lesson for people who are storing their funds in a centralized exchange.
A reminder to all that if it is not your keys, not your coins. A situation where nobody saw this coming.
Imagine a big and top exchange, having such big problem all along.
Right, on the other hand, even if we do our DYOR, it's not enough at this point. Because if this people behind has really bad intentions, so we can't really protect our selves right? Good thing is that I don't used or haven't used FTX at all, maybe because I'm not in the US and so would rather used my local exchange or just Binance.

Not saying Binance will not collapse or something, but they have been in the business for like 5 years now, and has built a solid reputation. Not sure when does FTX born, but it seem that it is build later than Binance. But yes, we might withdraw funds on exchanges, and keep our coins in a wallet that we have control.
1646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is The Gambling Industry Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market on: November 24, 2022, 09:25:03 PM
There's a discussion here about a call to make it mandatory for gambling sites to show proof of money they are holding in reserves because of what happened on FTX.

Running a casino during crypto crash

 - Do you think The Gambling Industry Is Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market?
 - Will the industry lose the trust of gamblers if one or two casinos scammed their players by closing down and running with what
money they have that belongs to the gamblers?
  - As a gambler do you use gambling sites to store your coins like what traders are doing on exchanges?
  - What would gamblers think if a casino does not agree to show proof of money from new and old casinos

No, I don't see the Gambling Industry as part of the problem, for sure we know that casino's have the edge, and that's why they will not risk running out of funds. And they are also capping the amount of money that you can gamble, so I doubt that it will just simply crash like FTX or whatever exchange it is.

No, I don't used gambling sites to store my coins, and besides, gambling sites also knows that we can used them to mixed coins so they are smart not to let anyone uses their platform for that purposes. So you have to used your coins and gamble there. And again, if you just store them, you can't simply withdraw those, it's like you have to bet x1 of the amount you deposit. So there is no used of storing it to these gambling platforms.
1647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 24, 2022, 09:03:51 PM
It's good that Casimero is just keeping his mouth shut at this fight.

Casimero has his mouth shut because he has nothing to say, what would he say? what would he boast about? When fighters have one or more belts, they show off and talk a lot to get more attention from the media and also put psychological pressure on their opponent, it turns out that in this case Casimero has nothing to show off for that reason he can only remain silent and wait for fight day and see if he can win this fight, that's all he can do

We can't blame the community if they are not used to seeing Casimero's changed behavior right now as that wasn't his usual. However, you have a point though that it might not make sense to make some noise because he is currently not a champion now. However, that's not the reason I'm thinking but because of those events that lead to being stripped out of his belt, not just once but twice.

Regardless, a bit of trash talk should be nice to start some fire. Seems boring if these 2 boxers won't start making some noise thru trash talks. Cheesy
Or maybe he learned his lessons not to open his mouth, or at least back it up, and since he has no belts right now, he can't boast of anything. He can attack Inoue in social media, but not sure if Inoue will be interested at him since he has no belt at all.

Nevertheless, if he can proved once again that he still has that brandish style and has the knock out power, maybe the super bantamweight including the champion will take notice of him. Right now, it's better for him to really zip his mouth and do the talking in the ring.
1648  Economy / Gambling / Re: OLE777 - Join Us For New And Exciting Promos! on: November 24, 2022, 08:47:32 PM
Probably the people behind has been involved with online casino's before. Anyhow, welcome to the community, and so we have another one, makes it more exciting for us to see another online casino, niche is very competitive but for sure there are a lot of gamblers here that might test your site.

I would also agree that it has a decent UI. Yes a copper membership might do the trick for you to be able to attach image in your post or ANN thread to make it very professional. As gamblers here look for that one and see how you are going to promote and market your business here in the forum. Best of luck!!
1649  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC's market price go? on: November 24, 2022, 08:30:07 PM
Yes, $10k could be the bottom price for this bear market. $17k proved to be wrong, when others say that it will be the bottom. Now at 15k, still a lot of room for us till next year, if there will be as big as the FTX scandal or similar to Terra Luna collapse.

And one thing we learn here is that everything is possible, I mean if we can go up to 6 digits in the next bull run, we might as well see the bottom price around $10k so really appreciate how big the next bull run is.
1650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: November 23, 2022, 05:14:47 PM
^ Yes, very good point, I think pro boxers getting into exhibitions match are not allowed to have their 5-10 lbs  boxing gloves because it will be fatal for their opponent as they are not pro.

And if I'm not mistaken, Manny during his prime as a pro is using Cleto made boxing gloves which is more of punching glove, meaning impact is big as Manny punch so hard. So just imagine if DK Yoo will take the full force of Manny having his Cleto, that will punishment.
1651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: November 23, 2022, 04:55:53 PM

Artur Beterbiev is the reason why the supposed fight against Anthony Yarde last August was not pushed through.

What's the status of Beterbiev regarding that injury? Since this fight becomes official, of course, he is cleared to fight but I'm sure that injury might still give an effect and change his performance even slightly.

This will be Yarde's biggest break in his career although Beterbiev is really a tough boxer to beat.

I believe Artur Beterbiev is fully healed since they already accepted the fight date. This is indeed the biggest break for Yarde's career. What more can he ask for? A title fight in his own backyard. And Beterbiev is not just bringing 1 belt but the 3 belts and the lineal recognition as the best in the division, something WBA titlist Dmitry Bivol should envy.

Yes, it is safe to assume that Artur Beterbiev is already healthy and safe to fight Yarde this coming January because Bob Arum won't sure approve the announced timeline if his boxer is not yet capable to fight in the next few months. Surely, Bob won't take the risk to get Beterbiev at the disadvantage and somehow give Yarde an advantage to defeat his boxer because that will mean that he won't be having the pleasure of making some business worth millions when the undisputed fight of the LHW begins.
Or Bob Arum wil not give the go signal if he thinks that Beterviev might lose this fight. So the risk is there, but it's just minimal so this fight will happen next year.

Yarde's only advantage is that he have the crowd behind him and Beterviev being a Russian, could get a lot of boos from the crowd. But this is professional boxers, he can block it out and just focus on the job at hand that is to beat their home town boy.
1652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 23, 2022, 04:36:26 PM
Anthony Davis played very well but they still didn't win the game against the Suns. I think the Lakers are playing much better than they were at the beginning of the year and they can perform much better in games, they can win a lot more wins after a few games. At the moment the most important player of the team is not on the field and yet they played quite well against one of the best teams in the league.
At least they are trying to win Smiley
Well they are winning against mid to lower tier team. But when it comes to team that are on the top, like in their last game against Phoenix Suns, it's really hard for them to get past those team. But I do agree that they have been playing very well in their last 4 games with Anthony Davis taking the lead. It could have been better if they win against the Suns. It was very close in my book, it's just the Phoenix is a better team that with the current lineup of LA Lakers.
1653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The market will come back bigger again on: November 23, 2022, 03:20:47 AM
At least I agree with what @OP said about not giving up hope and having to make the most of this opportunity.
The crypto market is getting tested again as usual but behind this test, we are still allowed to buy lots of potential coins that can increase again.
And by analyzing, we can find the right coin to invest in.
The market will come back better than ever and I'm sure there will be lots of coins that will create new ATH in the next altcoin season.
Of course, we have been here altogether, seen the worst in 2018 but we did bounce back in 2021. For example Ethereum was in it's lowest in 2018, but made huge gains and so with other altcoins. So it will just repeat itself in the next bullrun. We just have to believed that everything will be ok and that this is just a big test again to all of us. How tough we are in this bear market because the fruits will be bigger to us in the future bull run, new all time high for the top altcoins.
1654  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for November on: November 22, 2022, 07:01:46 PM
^  12k?  Oof that's gonna hurt for sure.  Cheesy

I'm back and forth between 'we hit the bottom' and 'we're going to see another leg down below 15k'.  The logic behind 'we already hit bottom' is the FTX fiasco, which I consider to be waaay worse than Gox's fiasco, didn't even put much of a dent on the price.  I'd expect a hit that huge would bring BTC lower than where it ended up being.  I mean sure it broke down June lows but 15k - 16k isn't a long way off from 17.5k.  I think there just aren't any more sellers left.
But we still have a full year of bear market in 2023?

So probably we will see another leg down below $15k, maybe not this year as he have hit the bottom already. But looking at the bigger picture, who knows, there could be another news that will put the market into another frenzy.

I for now thinks that $17.5k is the lowest low for this year, but look at where the price is right now.

Yes, he is recovering from his injury but he should be ready with the Yarde fight and no more delays. Yarde also take a tune up fight and win comfortably with a knockout. And so is he really prepared for a Beterviev fight.

For sure fighting in front of his fans, Yarde will have some kind of momentum, nevertheless, I don't see any upset in the making here. Beterviev might have some ring rust, but when he shakes it out, Yarde could be in trouble.
1656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: November 22, 2022, 06:17:16 PM
Anyway, Spence vs Thurman fight is not yet final. They haven't speak of anything after the order of WBC but I know this will push through because Spence won't just let Keith have his way without even fighting for it. Lastly, the fight has been rumored to happen on December 17 of this year.

Yes, I know that this fight is ain't final yet and I expect that this will happen somewhere in the 1st quarter next year. But next month? That's totally not possible. The fight have just been ordered recently and both camps are not yet done with the terms if they already began discussing it that is why I don't think that it will happen next month. That is too rush and this is not an ordinary fight, this is a title fight.
I guess this fight is easy to made because they have the said promoter in Al Haymon and PBC. And this could be a good reason, Spence could rub it in on Crawford as he can say that he is fighting a tough opponent as compare to him getting Avanesyan in December 10.

Crawford has been criticized for fighting a unknown boxer, but he said that he did everything in his part to make the deal with Spence or his camp. Unfortunately, they can't make a deal and so he will continue to fight to defend his belt against Avanesyan.
1657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling unethical? on: November 22, 2022, 05:56:42 PM
I guess it's always been unethical if we are going to based everything in religion. Not just unethical but the morality of gambling as well. There could be people who think that when they gamble, they are committing sins and so that's where the ethical issues come into the picture.

But there are a lot of counter arguments as well like what the OP have said, he prioritized first his family. And the money that he gamble is not that big and he play to have fun and for entertainment purposes only. So I guess it really up to the individual, if he feels guilty every gambling session because of his religion and morality then I guess it is unethical for that individual.
1658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 22, 2022, 01:10:44 PM
So far, I have never heard of casinos having financial problems, correct me if I'm wrong. But the OP seems to want to equate the financial problems of post-market crash exchanges from FTX with casinos. So far I have bet on various casino sites, withdrew the results of the bet and had no problems with it. But the opinions of people here are very diverse and all are free to have an opinion. So transparency of backup evidence from the casino is needed or not, I'm not really worried.
I think even if there is transparency, if the casino gets to experience financial breakdown or bankruptcy, then it will eventually be forced to close. But this is just rare to happen as most of the casinos have huge financial bankroll reserve, enough to cater even the jackpot winnings of their customers. So even if there is crypto crash, casinos will be able to maintain their high bankroll, without controlling the finances of their gamblers.
I'm sure each casino's financial bankroll is very large, so it can still be recovered if there is a problem with their finances. Apart from the polemic that is happening right now, maybe some people are just curious about the questions that bother their minds and end up feeling anxious when there is a crypto crash and are afraid that this incident will happen to the casino too.
And another advantage of online casinos as compare to traditional based is that they don't need to have a big bankroll, like those big land base casinos which has billions on funds. And they lost so much money during the pandemic and probably in this financial crises.

As with online casino, not that deep pocket, and yet they keep themselves afloat in crypto crashes, and obviously, volatile might work against or for them in the long run. If the price goes up in the near future and they have a lot of crypto because of the crash then definitely a good profit for them as well. Not just the profit from the gamblers, but from the bull run that will happen to crypto in the future.
1659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 21, 2022, 08:44:40 PM
Ryan Garcia is finally fighting against somebody who is in his level. He has been cherry picking in his last fights. I would understand if a tune-up fight against a weaker opponent is necessary after he is inactive and is not well. But it made me wonder why after a tune-up fight another tune-up fight was still needed. But that's the past already. At least for now he is already choosing a worthy opponent. His trash talks, confidence, and a bit of arrogance will now be tested inside the ring.

It was all Oscar Dela Hoya's decision to take a tune-up fight after that inactivity, but it wasn't a tune-up fight after tune-up fight because Ryan Garcia has been already scheduled to fight with Javier Fortuna around April 2021 after he fought with Luke Campbell but Garcia and his camp withdrew because he was having a mental breakdown from the depression and anxiety he was facing. Emmanuel Tagoe was the only tune-up fight.
Yes, they wanted to see how Ryan is, and so far he looks good in his comeback fight and after a win against Tagoe he was been calling Tank Davis for the longest time.

Although Davis is going to take a tune up fight, I never heard of Ryan doing the same, meaning that he could be ready for this fight already. And hopefully this fight is really going to happen, we don't need another excuses.
1660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 21, 2022, 08:27:00 PM
The best season for Clarkson so far, in that game, he took over in the 4th quarter to give the Jazz a comfortable lead, it looks like he already is the main man of the team, the previous 6th man of the year will likely become an all star this season. Their chemistry is really impressive, you can tell by looking at the scores distribution, I mean everyone is contributing on the floor.

I guess the lack of a superstar is working great for the Jazz. Since there is no superstar that hogs the ball, they all get touches and a chance to contribute to a win. That is great basketball. In this scenario, the coach should get a credit as well since he brings out the best on his team even when they are on a rebuilding process.

That specific situation seems to work them at best because they are not following any lead and play of a superstar that will need them to adjust accordingly. Jordan Clarkson is their only all-star player but there's nobody standing above them, as we can see, they are playing fairly as everybody seems to be touching the ball and contribute whenever they have the chance.
Another thing perhaps is that there are no pressures from this guy, they just have to play night in, night out. We already see the potential of Jordan Clarkson in the Jazz, winning 6th man of the year award. But when they start to rebuild, he was not one of those who are traded. So they explore things with Jordan and it seems a very effective as they are winning games and the ball rotation is very high. Unlike before wherein all the ball is on the hands of Mitchell trying to create plays for the team.
