Although this will appear to work, Bitcoin-Qt will not realise you are using Tor (since you're using a non-standard port) and will accept non-Tor connections, potentially compromising your anonymity. Instead, you should add SocksPort 9050 (on a new line) to your torrc file. Leave ControlPort and the existing SocksPort line alone. eg: ...

I think more and more people are getting sick of BTCTalk +1 Especially because in each thread it's the same "Can't believe this coin is so low.... it will rival bitcoin.... it's the next big thing.... it will go to the moon...." blah blah blah Bitcoin has a huge user base that's all it's got..people act like BTC is the best thing ever and will still be here in 10 years time even though it has done nothing to improve it's self in the 24 months, i got news for you it won't, it's slow hard for people to acquire and not very appealing at all, and will never become mainstream. The Bitcoin team could change the coin parameters to make it faster, if there is enough support from the community. The problem is the community is so big, that it's hard to make drastic changes to the code base. It's definitely far from being mainstream and there is still room for a competing currency to have a major impact on the market. We're still in the very early stages of crypto adoption, so anything can change. |

The BTCtalk mods had a great opp here to foster the growth and development of alternative currencies, but their bitcoin tunnel vision and neglect for altcoins has driven this place into the ground. It's now a cesspool for clone factories, coinscams, FUDpackers and code plagiarism. It's the 9gag of the crypto world.. That being said, there are still a few real projects here amidst the filth that are worth investing in like Shadow. |

If we can really get all that done by the end of September i can only imagine what we will have by January 2015..I'm simply amazed and i have complete confidence it will be done because the track records really good so far, we will be top 10 soon possibly top 5 no doubt, few months max. Yup, I've been waiting for a project like this to come around for the last few years. I'm honestly not even cared about anything else but Shadow. This crypto is built for adoption and it'll be in the top 3 market caps in no time. All the other coins are just speculation for traders to hype and dump. Outside of Bitcoin and Storj, I see no real world application for any of them. Shadow is something that can not only change the financial privacy landscape, but the entire communications vertical. We're investing in the future here.  It's just natural evolution. |

No doubt that there is some heavy pressure on the Anoncoin price. It looks very strange to me... For all this work that is being done ... nothing! I mean, even if ZC gets implemented  will there be a significant rise? hm... debatable Can we change name to AnoncoinDark or something , maybe will be more volume and success : ) Obviously there is some group of ppl who support few coins and go from one to another to pump.
