Liverpool did good on transfer market so far: a goalkeeper (Alisson), central (Keita) and defensive midfield(Fabinho), and a winger(Shaqiri).  Their variety of attacking players is incredible: Salah, Firmino, Mane, Sturridge + more. I think this season they have a solid chance and there is a great value to bet on them for the title.

I don't think there's enough value on them for me to put money backing them tbh. City will probably take it again as they're still a much stronger squad imo, but I think Liverpool will have no problem with finishing runners up and I would prefer them to win over Manchester any day.

^  Yup and he hasn't really stayed at a single club for more than 4 years or so.  If he leaves this season or at the next season then Man United would be his 'greatest failure'.  He was brought in to win the league and play attacking football, but nada...  He could at least give United fans the latter.

Well I am a United supporter. I am not gonna lie, after Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement all the managers have failed to achieve anything substantial. I am starting to wonder if Mourinho's era hasn't already run its course and he needs to go now. I could care less about who the next manager would be, honestly. Big name or no-name manager it doesn't matter as long as they manage to win a trophy again. United have been in shambles since Ferguson left and the only significant trophy for that period of time was the Europa League cup last year. That's not enough for Mourinho to stay.

Looks to me like he’s trying to get himself sacked. Have you seen all his comments in press conferences moaning  constantly?

Fergie would fucking hate him I think.

I don't think he's trying to get himself sacked but just softening the blow for when he does so he has an excuse to fall back on. I don't think they should sack him unless they do terrible but they've got the squad to finish in the top 5 and they should be able to get third place I think this year but I'd probably put them at fourth place I think.

Manchester United manager Jose Murinjo said on Sunday that the club has to invest more money in transfers in order to be competitive in the Premier League.

He said that this would be hard season for them if they did not bring more players.

No shit. They wouldn't have won it even if they got a few new players. I think it'll be a while before United every seriously challenge for the title. They'll probably have a mediocre start to the season and Jose will be sacked.

Do I need some sort of code for the affiliate link? Tried to create one but nothing happens.

On the affiliate page, you need to fill in the name you want for yourself to keep track under 'campaign name', and the code you want under 'campaign code'.
The code you create will be in your URL 'https://stake.com/?code=[yourcodehere]'

I did. When I click 'create campaign' it just takes me to a blank page.

So would Chelsea's line up tomorrow be a good indicator if Hazard is staying with them?  If he isn't on, then he's prolly leaving?  What do you guys think?

If he doesn't start then maybe, but there's still a while before the transfer windows closes. I think they should close the transfer window the day or maybe even a week before the league starts and not reopen it until the next season. It causes too much disruption allowing it into the start of the league. A lot of tensions in the dressing room as well I imagine, especially if there's speculation that you want to leave or you have even publicly stated as such. I think this is what happened with Mahrez at Leicester last year where he handed in a transfer request, but the deal never got done and it soured things between the team and manager etc. He even missed a few games I believe.

^  I think that Liverpool line slightly has value considering the new players they acquired in the past three transfer windows.  They're ready to win it imo.

That Chelsea one looks good too, but would wait until the end of the transfer window and see who's in their squad.

I still don't think it's worth putting money on. Liverpool have a strong chance, but there's a lot of strong competition from City and don't discount teams like Spurs or maybe even Chelsea. I rarely think there's much value in betting on the outrights unless there's a shocker like Leicester winning it.

Liverpool has the best coach and has strengthened itself selectively. I think they will play for the title this season. But I also think the Arsenal is stronger than supposed by the betting providers. It will certainly be a more exciting season than the last one.

No chance. They've got rid of the long-term manager and signed mostly nobodies. I think they'll at best get into the Europa league but nothing better.

Then buy a Nokia 3310 if you miss them that much. Nobody is forcing you to use a smartphone. In fact, Nokia recently re-released an updated version of the 3310 and you can buy it very cheaply: https://www.nokia.com/en_gb/phones/nokia-3310

Four colors to choose from as well:

I had many Nokia phones back in the day but they're kind of a dodo now and wouldn't want to go back.

the new Nokia 3310 is too ugly, it looks like kid toy, it's not the 3310 i have known.

The original version isn't exactly a looker either. I think if they would have just re-released the original as it was it would have been a bit silly and doubt they would have sold many other than those buying them for nostalgia or a bit of a gimmick. They're probably not for the new generation of people who have grown up with smart phones. The new version does look a bit childish, but most of the cheaper new non-smart phones are also the same.

^  Yup.  Some bookies have Mou as favorite to be the first manager to be given the sack.  Lol.

I mean it shows that his love for the game isn't as much as it used to be.  If he was the manager he was 10 years ago, we'd see players like Martial and Shaw flourish under him.  But no...  I think he needs a year or two away from the game to regain his love for it IMHO.

His defensive tactics, ‘park the bus’ etc are prehistoric. Managers like Guardiola, Klopp, Pochettino, Zidane have surpassed him & play a different style of football.

Mourinho is a dinosaur, he needs to start playing expansive, attacking football or he won’t be at Man Utd for long.

I’m a Liverpool fan as many of you know & I’ve grown up hating Man Utd but they always attacked under Fergie & tried to win every game. They were rarely, if ever defensive & cowardly. Mourinho goes against everything United fans are used to & expect.

I think he’ll be gone before May.

Who would they get as a replacement though? Often managers get sacked then someone worse comes in or who's style of play just isn't right. Venger left Arsenal finally after years of not winning anything but I think it'll only get worse for them with their new manger and as such they will likely be better off with Arsen as average as Arsenal have been over his tenure. Mourinho is a good manager, but his best days are clearly behind him, but Man United's reign as a champion-winning team are over now, especially when you've got greats like City who they just can't compete with. Things will probably change again eventually but I doubt anytime soon.
270  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do I enjoy my youth by living my best life, when I have no money? on: July 31, 2018, 01:20:00 PM
I only make $1820 a month working 40 hours a week, so $910 every 2 weeks. $50 goes into a savings account for Christmas, $180 goes to car insurance, at least $300 I try to put on my credit cards, (sometimes more as I want them paid off) and I pay $90 for health insurance (which is super cheap I know, but I only qualify because I make so little).
I try to throw some in savings, but I'm 23 I want to go out and have fun but EVERYTHING is so expensive...after my bills I have some left over but there is always a birthday or expense for my pets or car.
Just want to live life to the fullest but having little money makes it difficult....

Look for a higher paying job or an additional source of income if you can't afford the lifestyle you want to live. Do you really need a car? Getting rid of that will save you $2160 in insurance a year not to mention the money you will spend  on gas and everything else that comes along with having a car. Why do you need to save $50 a month for Christmas? Stopping that will save you an additional $600. I'm sure with that money saved you could afford to go on at least one or two of the excursions you want, but remember you don't need to do these things in your twenties. Do them in your thirties when you're more financially secure. I didn't do much in my early twenties but rather my late twenties and early thirties and you're still young at that age, especially if you look after yourself.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 31, 2018, 12:45:16 PM
It's funny how Klopp went 180 and changed his stance on player transfers.  How much did Liverpool spend on the past 12 months?  Over 250m EURO?  I guess they're really going after the league this season.  It should be good.  Man United will be going after it too, as is City.  Smiley

It's gonna be a three way battle.  The Spurs are pretty much out judging by how quiet they are during this transfer window.  I thought Poch was gonna spend after that 'meeting' with Levy.  But no...
Well Klopp promised a Premier League title within four years when he signed and this year is the 3rd year right? He don't have much time and i think he's go all in this year.

No manager should promise things like this and it was probably puffery more than anything. I still think Klopp's Liverpool can win the title, but probably not this year especially given how great City are. I think they should give him a few more years, but mangers are blamed for too much these days. Is it Klopps fault if they don't win anything? Absolutely not. He's done very well for them since his arrival and got them to a Champions League final. Teams should look at developing their squads over years with the same coach and not just sacking managers as soon as they don't win anything or have a bad season. It probably does more harm than good sacking managers all the time. Fergie didn't win anything in his first few seasons as manager I believe and imagine where United could be now if they got rid of him early.

Well I hope it's the start of another run, but I'm getting too cynical these days. Just can't see it ever getting to where it once was. I'm always apprehensive though when the value rockets without much explanations as to why.

Shotted from 6000$ range to 7500$ in few hours after Bloomberg announced that BlackRock is looking to invest in cryptocurrencies

And their CEO has denied that. I doubt the spike has anything to do with that, but if it did it'll probably just fall an as fast as it rose once the 'news' tuns out to be fake.

Croatia have just equalized. They were starting to lose their cool prior and resorted to fouls and dirty play. They now seem to be reinvigorated and are dominating the game but I think it's going to be very close. I could see this game going all the way to penalties and England are notorious for going out on them and Croatia have won their past two in this tournament already.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 11, 2018, 01:00:17 PM
Belgium had 60% possession and only 9 goal attempts while France had 40% possession and 19 goal attempts. I think Belgium's manager Roberto Martinez knew that his team might have problems in the back against the speedy French attackers like Mbappe and Griezmann and he tried to slow down the game with Belgium holding the ball more. I think he got his tactics wrong for the match though. Belgium should have let France be in their half of the field most of the time and then try to score on the counter attack.
Uh I knew it Belgium defense is really sucks and i'm not surprised that France won on that match. What I really mad is that france players wasting time so many times on 2nd half and the extra time. That mbappe last moment on extra time is hilarious though, wasting time and get yellow card.

How does their defense suck when they only lost by one goal? Not much they could have done about the goal either. I thought Belgium were the better team in the first half.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 10, 2018, 07:54:42 PM
Shame about Belgium going out. Both sides have played very well but France's defense has been unbreakable. I don't think either Croatia or England will give any bother to France now so my money would be on them to lift the trophy.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 08, 2018, 11:50:45 AM
I don't know what's up with Croatia but after that flashy thrashing of Argentina they are playing with great difficulties vs mediocre teams and now they have played 240 minutes plus penalties in the knockout stage. I think the Croatians will be tired for the semi-final. England have the perfect chance to play at the final after such a long absence.

As expected from the start of the world cup the good teams are out. This time things that where going to happen was unexpected and it is happening that way only. We may have this time altogether a new winner itself and it may just be unpredictable and people will lose lot of money if they bet.

You expected from the start that the good teams would be out? *Source needed*. You then seem to contradict yourself and say unexpected things are happening. Which one is it? The expected or Unexpected  Cheesy

Don't underestimate the rest of their team. Don't forget about Liverpool's Dejan Lovren, Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic, and Juventus' Mario Mandzukic. Croatia are no pushover, but they've certainly got a squad that doesn't get the credit they deserve and I think people have underestimated them. I don't think they will win the tournament as I don't think they will be any match for either France or Belgium but I wouldn't write the underdogs off either. All that stands in their way is England who aren't a truly great team lets be honest. I think it will be a close game but whoever wins will have themselves a place in the final that for sure.

We can say that Croatia was very lucky in last two games, but they did not play nor close to how they can play. Which is the reason for such poor performances we can only speculate, but England will be a real test for them. It is possible that the match Croatia-England be very different from what Croatia show in last 2 games, they need to start play much better to reach the finals.

No doubt they have great players from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool and some others big football clubs, but England is a much better team then Denmark or Russia. I am sure it will be one more interesting match, maybe again with extra time and a lottery of penalties kicks.

I think it's the other way around and Croatia will be a real test for England. England played very poorly against Columbia and were lucky to scrap through. If Rodriguez was playing I think they would have lost. People are giving too much credit to England I think and they've had a very easy drive to where they are now and even in the semis they have the easiest route to the final. The real test for them will be either France or Belgium as to how great they truly are but they've got to get past Croatia first who I doubt will be a pushover.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 08, 2018, 09:58:06 AM

I will be honest and say I don't know much about the Croatian team, except maybe Luka Modric because he used to play fantastic games for Tottenham Hotspurs but judging from what I've seen, they actually didn't play so badly. Russia was a crazy phenomenon, a lot of old players and very athletic, but we have to be fair and say that this World Cup, a lot of teams really performed, for me it is down to the teams that played a lot together and stayed together for a long time, like Russia.

I don't think you can say they'll be too tired for the semis. They ran a lot but not that much more than other teams. They have 3 days to recover almost, which is okay. Remember this was only a 5 games before this, for a 3 weeks period, so that's not too bad.

I will like to see Belgium in the final, if they win, they really deserve it. They played every game with big hearts and scored every game. This is football we want to see.

I don't think an extra hour of football will take them days to recover from. I'm sure they'll be fine to face England, though I agree they've played very average the last couple of games especially after showing such promise. I think England could beat them quite easily if they're on form, but I see the game ultimately being very close. Could go down to extra time and penalties again. Might be worth a bet on at least.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 07, 2018, 08:22:14 PM
2:1 it is going to be hard from Russia to change the situation and come to penalts in those last 15 min. They gonna get a big punch from Putin  Cheesy

Maybe Putin will come on as a sub to score the winner?  Grin. I feel a bit sad for Russia as they've played very well throughout the tournament. I guess there's still 15 minutes to go yet.
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: July 07, 2018, 08:14:07 PM
This game has been pretty much stalemate and I can't see anyone scoring a goal in extra time so looks like it's going to go to penalties.

Seems I spoke too soon and Croatia now just scored. On half left of extra time
