261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: KYC of bounty hunters on: March 24, 2018, 10:18:41 PM
Boycott any bounty manager that leaves your KYC information visible to the scrapers. Obviously certain information is less sensitive than others, but certainly if it had information like name, address or ID, I would go insane over the manager, and such a blunder should never be forgotten.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is struggling? on: March 24, 2018, 10:17:32 PM
Pretty much all cryptocurrencies are struggling in this current climate, I like to think ETH is being hit so bad because people have realized how incomplete it is.

Though more likely it's just coincidence, it will probably climb back to $1,000 eventually.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If your coin increased 40% - 200% in value over night. What would you do? on: March 24, 2018, 10:13:00 PM
If it looks like it was a pump and dumb, then I'd cash out ASAP. But if it looks like a long term thing, perhaps due to some great news regarding the coin, then I would hold on until I've researched into this.

Coins usually don't double in value for no reason, if they do, they must be special.
264  Economy / Lending / Re: Inventor needing about 1200. on: March 24, 2018, 10:11:41 PM
So let me get this right, you're going to invest something, patent it, manufacture and distribute this product all within 2 months for under $1,000?

Are you on drugs?
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yee CEO Zhang Lei: “Blockchain Will be the Next Generation Infrastructure.” on: March 24, 2018, 10:10:23 PM
Isn't he just stating the obvious, it has been said many times that blockchain is the future of infrastructure, that most applications will be decentralized, that we'll have decentralized governments and countries, and yet no single blockchain is capable of these features. There's a lot of work to be done, the first step is moving away from ETH.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many Wolves in Sheep clothing on: March 23, 2018, 11:55:14 PM
The problem with the privacy aspect, is that by having a private cryptocurrency you cannot necessarily tell whether or not the total supply has increased, making it very simple for market manipulation to occur by the founders. Zcash and Monero are such currencies where the total supply cannot be known with any certainty.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sell all you got NOW!!! Tomorrow will be too late! on: March 23, 2018, 11:44:33 PM
Wow, you make such a compelling argument, because the cryptocurrency market is smaller than the stock market, it must be a bubble.

You are either completely stupid, or woefully ignorant, which is it? Everything starts small, you could have said the same at some point about nearly anything. Have you ever heard of growth?

Your post seriously annoyed me you dullard.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum be a Better Investment than Bitcoin in 2018? on: March 23, 2018, 11:41:30 PM
Ethereum has been out for years and yet there are still very few decentralized applications, that's because solidity, the smart contract programming language used by Ethereum is clunky and pretty much useless. Wait for next generation smart contract capable blockchains, such as NEO or EOS, which open development to multiple languages.
269  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Sinks As Google Moves To Ban All Crypto, ICO Ads In June on: March 22, 2018, 11:34:55 PM
Facebook, Google, Twitter, Snapchat. It seems all of the main social media platforms are banning ICO advertisements, I guess they really do want to keep the public ignorant about blockchain. Maybe they're under pressure from government as it's very suspicious that these all occurred at once, almost like a blanket attack.
270  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down on: March 22, 2018, 11:32:21 PM
There was some negative hysteria again. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are highly susceptible to crashes preceded by negative media.

Because the total market cap of cryptocurrencies is so low, the market can have a disproportionately large effect, whereas the same news wouldn't dent traditional currency.
271  Economy / Economics / Re: FINANCIAL TIPS on: March 22, 2018, 11:29:53 PM
Great tips, I think I'll add on a couple more to help people out that were like me in the beginning;

1. Do not invest your time into pump and dump groups, you will find that you won't realize any of the profits they claim. Only the owners of the group profit.

2. Most signals groups are scams, unless they have a proven track record.

3. ETH is not the future, do not believe the hype.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it the perfect time for ethreum to become POS ?? on: March 21, 2018, 10:28:13 PM
Ethereum had a great chance to overthrow Bitcoin back when it was released, it never capitalized on its promises and now it lives under BTC's shadow. Hopefully a true worth successor like NEO steps up and knocks ETH out of the top 10, as it doesn't deserve its place anymore. Solidity is terrible.
273  Other / Meta / Re: Link disabled in signature (Jr. Member) on: March 21, 2018, 10:26:27 PM
You will need to make your way to member status before your link is clickable, this is because there were too many Jr Members spamming up the forum with shitposts just to spread their signature link.
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on tv series on: March 21, 2018, 10:23:42 PM
I think most mainstream media relating to Bitcoin is negative, this is because bad news spreads quickly and the media only care about reach, rather than facts. I would like it if we could have some positive media, such as a special episode on The Big Bang Theory, or even an episode of Rick and Morty.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will bitcoin be replace by ethereum/ripple on: March 20, 2018, 06:17:18 PM
Definitely won't be either of these coins. Bitcoin has the first mover advantage and the whole cryptosphere shakes when bitcoin starts dropping, but not vice-versa. Next generation blockchains might have the potential to overthrow bitcoin, something like NEO or EOS, but they would need significant backing to do so, and probably wont manage it either.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I’m out on: March 20, 2018, 06:13:31 PM
Damn, which cryptocurrency suffered an 85% loss in a month? Definitely couldn't have been a good one, maybe you bought ripple at its absolute peak and now you're seeing it's down about 70%. In any case, in your condition you shouldn't be concerning yourself over money. Just take some time out, get your help sorted as a priority, then come back stronger than before.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trader for newbie on: March 20, 2018, 06:10:24 PM
There's a few different strategies you can look into, e.g. pingpong, rollercoaster and bollinger bands strategies. You will learn to identify when the market is moving into a position that makes buying favourable, or moving into a position where you should sell. The simplest strategy is to buy at the bottom of a dip, and sell at the top, keep repeating this with small amounts and you'll eventually work out roughly when these will be. Expect to lose money on your first few trades.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People say think about the future of cryptocurrency. on: March 20, 2018, 06:07:07 PM
Most new cryptocurrencies that are released try to improve on the original, whilst adding additional features and fixing certain flaws. This is the nature of competition, after some time we will have a cryptocurrency that is much more practical to use, safe and secure, and has excellent smart contract features. The first product of a company is rarely the best.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what Crypto community can do? on: March 20, 2018, 06:03:15 PM
I think we just need to spread a positive message about cryptocurrency, make sure everybody is informed exactly what it is, how it has the potential to change the world. We also need to ensure that the people are educated enough to understand how to keep their crypto safe, and make responsible decisions when investing into a volatile market.
280  Economy / Economics / Re: Tax: CoinTracker.info, Bitcoin.tax, or ? on: March 19, 2018, 10:34:48 PM
Step 1. Convert to Monero
Step 2. Sell for Cash
Step 3. Huh

All jokes aside. It would probably be best to manually verify all of the transactions if the total cointracker is giving you, vs your own estimates are massively out of line.

Don't forget to include transaction fee losses, these were quite significant last year.
