it was likely more the previous caretakers of the card that caused the bulk of the wear and tear.
I do my best but always look to keep my things organized as adding/culling from the herd. also this being the coolest running card she was kept appropriately wherever the hottest place would be.
thanks that is exactly what i was thinking of and know precisely where to find it locally.

So i have this GPU i purchased used.
its been a warrior for me mining eth, super cool running 7970 at expected hashrate but i have noticed its pretty discolored on the backplane plate, like its been baked in the over at one time or another.. and the leads on the motherboard connections are quite gouged from repetitive insert/removal.
do you guys know of any silver paste or something i can retrace these leads with to regain some meat on the leads?
its just stopped working today after maintenance/shuffling cards around and i'm sure its just a matter of poor connection according to the behavior i have been noting lately.

so is op's two s7's still hashing away?
power outages included?
or did you find an alternative solution to the ups issue.

when it goes proof of stake it will pretty much stay below 10 forever.

so i just picked up a card that is bios locked.. unfortunately i cant seem to get the fan speed adjusted through aticonfig.
i have found that aticonfig --pplib-cmd "fanspeed 0 100" should do the trick after enabling od but i get error returned PPLIB command execution has failed! on the set command.
anyone have any ideas on this?

Hi all fellow miners! https://etherite.com has been operating for nearly 2 weeks now and is slowly building up a miner base and we have found 12 Blocks so far and have a transaction record of all payments made! We are currently offering all miners that mine with us (based on address) 0% fees for life if you mine with us in the next 48 hours. A record of all miner address's will be made and those address's will never incur a pool fee forever! We also pay all transaction fees applicable for payments. So come along try us out, give any feedback or suggestions you have and last of all mine some ETH! Thanks Etherite Twitteradmin@etherite.comThanks to all the miners that have joined us, so far we have 35 miners that are eligible and we are extending this for another 25 hoursA list of addresses will be posted once it ends, happy mining all! how many uncles y'all get in that timeframe?

how many mh/s is linux netting with what kind of power draw?

never in the proof of work phase.
the reward structure will likely be modified upon proof of stake implementation though.

anyone else getting double the stale shares their eth proxy is reporting submitted and accepted/rejected?
some quick and dirty forensic work is revealing 3 packets being sent to 139.224.20.191 upon discovery of any share and a packet length of 55 responding shortly thereafter confirming receipt or rejection.
can anyone confirm thats a correct f2pool server?
i'll dive further in to this when time allows, until then any insight may be appreciated.

I am thinking about trying this miner with some Nvidia cards and Linux. I found the following notes on the releases page.. Is there anything else that we need to get this working? Any other software, or known issues that I should be aware of? Any tips on getting Nvidia cards up and working with this miner would be awesome. Thanks. From the Release Page: wget http://developer.download.nvidia.com/compute/cuda/repos/ubuntu1404/x86_64/cuda-repo-ubuntu1404_7.5-18_amd64.debsudo dpkg -i cuda-repo-ubuntu1404_7.5-18_amd64.deb sudo apt-get -y install software-properties-common sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:ethereum/ethereum sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install git cmake libcryptopp-dev libleveldb-dev libjsoncpp-dev libjson-rpc-cpp-dev libboost-all-dev libgmp-dev libreadline-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev ocl-icd-libopencl1 opencl-headers mesa-common-dev libmicrohttpd-dev build-essential cuda -y git clone https://github.com/Genoil/cpp-ethereum/cd cpp-ethereum/ mkdir build cd build cmake -DBUNDLE=miner .. make -j8 For the 1.1 prerelease you'll need to checkout the 110 branch. whats the oldest available branch you would suggest someone use before its imperative to upgrade?

he's probably trying to save his hardware from the stress of these power spikes and losses. not just getting that extra time of mining in.
if a ups system facilitates his ability to mine, sure its worth it with the right electricity cost. just be resourceful about it.
you can fry equipment pretty quick exposing it to that kind of environment.

just go door to door at your local warehouses and see if anyone is replacing their forklift batteries anytime soon.
offer a bit more than scrap value, or less but arrange pickup (or disposal)
most employees are just happy they dont gotta operate the machinery to replace or remove these units and they are decent at holding a charge for home or modest industrial backup purposes.

mostly between 2 and 600ms, occasional jumps to 9 and over 1k.
its settled to below 6%

thanks! this seems to be working.
better payouts than ethermine even with 8% stales..
cheers

How much does staking earn?
5% per year according to qt wallets estimate. in reality, a fraction of that. in my experience anyway

wow bum luck bro.. i just about did everything i could to kill mine and its going strong.
after a few hiccups for sure but nothing i could not work around.

still trying to get answers for why additional DAGs are created for some pools.. while nicehash manages to accept shares on a single DAG.
recently i have noticed an additional dag is created in my .ethash directory even when solo mining, except its not reported to console and there is no progress % updated. although it hogs an antire core of cpu usage for the time it takes for creation.
|
|
|
why does pool mining generate additional DAG's after the initial one is created?
i have noticed nicehash does not use this additional dag for their purposes.
would there be any reason for another dag to be created while solo mining with geth?
