Right now one of the crappy things is that many projects can't accept any US citizens.
It would be nice if there were greater clarity in US laws.

5. Don't share your password to any one.
While I think that's excellent (or MANDATORY) advice in general, there's the "hit by a bus" problem. Absolutely 100% people should have some plan in case they get "hit by a bus". This may be sharing a password with your spouse or parents or children, or may be keeping it locked in a safety deposit box to be released by a lawyer in the event of your death. Just imagine having 100 BTC, dying, and leaving no way for your family to get that BTC and be taken care of properly.

+1 for bounty campaigns.
The more you participate and learn, the closer you are to actually working in crypto.
There are lots of people working in crypto full time. It's a great place to be.

This gets into monetary supply and other economic considerations. REDUCING THE SUPPLYThis has a net effect of putting upward pressure on the price of the currency (the purchasing power of the currency). However, this also has another affect on the economy... INCREASING THE VELOCITY OF MONEYAs the supply is reduced, with other factors holding constant, the velocity of money increases. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/v/velocity.aspV = PQ/M - V = velocity of money
- PQ = Nominal GDP, which measures the goods and services purchased
- M = total, average amount of money in circulation in the economy
It's trivial to see there. As M decreases, V increases. Velocity of money is a touchy subject sometimes. The article above gives some more info on it. However, HODLing really is just a temporary removal of coins from M. Regular fiat savings function the same way, but as fiat goes down in purchasing power, it makes no sense to HODL fiat. The best strategy is to spend fiat before it's worth less (not a typo, but could be). Assume that an arbitrary amount of fiat is saved. We'll call that X% of M. X should be relatively stable over time with obvious fluctuations around Christmas, Lunar New Year, etc. In the Bitcoin world, let's say that Y% is HODLed. As BTC is deflationary, we can assume that Y > X by some factor Z (Y/X). Z would then represent a sort of value premium (desire to save or desire for higher time preferences) that people have for BTC over fiat. Further, as Z increases, the effective M decreases, V increases, and the purchasing power of the currency (BTC) increases. If increases in Z tend to bolster confidence in BTC, Z should increase and create a virtuous circle of savings/HODLing. At the same time, we know M exactly, but we can't really measure Y or Z very well without looking at Bitcoin days destroyed, which I almost never hear anyone talk about anymore.

nice detail, thanks. will we get the coins automatically or will there be an instruction? and is there a date for playing soccermanager crypto? sounds badd ass exciting Soccer Manager Crypto game will be released before the end of the year. There is literally nothing you have to do to get your SMC, this is what Andy (snailbrain) wrote about it in telegram: How it will work (probably) for you to receive SMC is :
The address you enter in the Token Page for Chimaera (when the wallet is released) will need to be kept safe until SMC is released.
You will then be sent a special coin/name (similar to a namecoin name) which will hold both the coins you are owed and the legendary player.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ For anyone doubting the Chimaera project, here is some statement from Andy about how are things are going and what is up for Chimaera in the future: We will deliver and it will be better than you could imagine. Making blockchain games on Chimaera will be simple and orders of magnitude more powerful than on other platforms.
We've been a little slow with documentation etc as we've been all hands on the ico with everything you see done all in house. Daniel Kraft our lead developer only becomes full time on June the 1st. He's currently in the last couple of weeks working for Google in Switzerland.
We've taken some wage cuts as we are passionate about the project and have what it takes to make this a success. We have had 4 of us working full time for over a year unpaid.
We've also have plans for some amazing games which make uses of game channels that are going to blow your mind, be fun, competitive and immersive.
We also wanted to focus marketing etc on blockchain gaming .. but Chimaera can be used for dapps and other things which are again much more powerful that other things on the market.
We are also only in the presale and we will be discussing how to proceed into the main sale or if we leave a private sale open in the coming period. For example.. it would be more smart to raise extra funds once we have some examples and documentation etc in place to show what we are capable of to those that don't know our experience in the scene.
There are things about Chimaera that we really don't talk about at all. That bit Andrew mentioned about dapps is hinted at in the White Paper, but never explained. And the level of power and flexibility in there for dapps is just beyond crazy. Really, there are no limits. Or rather, the only limits are what you can imagine and actually write code for. Here's one bit from in the Chimaera Telegram channel: Q > Hi, I am wondering for Chimaera if there is any information on whether there is a programming language involved with making a blockchain based game. Thanks!
A > Chimaera is language agnostic. So if you can build a game with a language, and that language has the proper tools to interface with the Chimaera API, then you can use that language.
So, for example, you can't program a game for Chimaera with HTML 4.0 because it's a declarative language. However, if you have a rendering surface for that HTML 4.0, and you have another language that can interface with the API, then you can use HTML 4.0 as part of your toolchain for a game.
Some languages that are commonly used for games include C++, C#, Delphi (less now), Python, etc.
If we want to go really wild and freaky, anyone with the skills to do a port and recompilation could create gamified dapps for smart whitegoods. That is, you could put Chimaera blockchain games on a refridgerator or washing machine. (Most likely you'd want to run with Tizen and target manufacturers like Samsung.)
However, some platforms are locked down and not open to third party developers without an agreement with the manufacturer. Automotive is like that.
Now, I don't think it would really be a good idea to just do some of these things "just because you can" as it would largely be just for learning and fun. Few people will want to run gamified dapps on their smart appliances. At least for now. That's coming in a few years though. Maybe 5. Maybe 10. But it's coming.
In any event, that just puts the versatility of Chimaera into a bit of perspective.
To be more practical, just look at your average, run-of-the-mill languages people use for games right now. As above, C++, C#, Python, ASM (assembly), Java, HTML 5 + JavaScript, etc. Quite often a variety of languages are used for varying reasons, e.g. you might use a functional language such as F# for some DSP if it gets you a good enough performance boost (which is a good bet in many cases).

I also read about it in another thread. Members of the bounty campaign are frustrated and confused. I hope your problem will be solved, and I hope that this is a mistake.
This is the first I've heard of that. Can you point me to the other threads?

Cryptobit Games is starting a new series of articles, and they're kicking it off with CHIMAERA!Welcome to the first in a series we’re calling “Platform Spotlight”. And the first crypto platform we are spotlighting is Chimaera and the team at Chimaera.io. https://cryptobitgames.com/chimaera-platform-spotlight/Chimaera – Platform Spotlight
The creators of Chimaera are behind the vision and technology to create decentralized virtual realities, filled with millions of gamers, that are autonomous and unstoppable. Developers would be able to bring games to life cheaper and more efficiently, and gamers could realize true value from their in-game accomplishments. In this win-win scenario, the potential for new revenue streams and gameplay opportunities could be enormous.
Chimaera’s team plans to achieve all these goals by utilizing a solitary yet custom blockchain-based platform. This system will be able to provide decentralized and autonomous virtual universes, secure and intuitive digital goods trading, as well as quick, cost-efficient concept to market development of massively multiplayer titles. Interactions will take place on the blockchain itself and on safe off-chain technologies, meaning greater security for everyone. Many of the Chimaera team members were part of the original creation of blockchain game Huntercoin. If you think Crypto Games are a new thing, these guys were doing it back in 2014!
More at the link. It's an excellent article and really gets into some good depth. It's not a gloss-over article by a rushed author trying to pump out content. https://cryptobitgames.com/chimaera-platform-spotlight/

I think the team should actively participate in various conferences around the world. Thus it is possible to interest investors.
You can meet some of the team at Blockchain Expo Global 2018 in London at the Olympia. We're also sending a team member to the Blockchain Economic Event in Toronto. We'll hope to see some of you there!

With Chimaera, there isn't a lot of data that needs to be put onto the blockchain due to game channels (Trustless Off-chain Scaling for games ). This is what makes our solution scalable.
Tell me, please, is there a test development of Chimera's blockchain? About this very little information on the forum. I mean the level of development that you have achieved in building of your network. The MVP is functional now, but not released. However, some cosmetic adjustments still need to be completed. We'd like the Chimaera wallet to be more than just "functional". It should be aesthetically pleasing and have a great UX as well.

Hi, can I get telegram bounty table link? Tnx
The Telegram bounty was only for the first 50 people. I'll have to check on it.

Hello manager! Can you please tell me how often the table of participants is updated? I joined 2 weeks ago, but I do not see myself in the table with awards, thanks for the answer
The number of participants has grown significantly so the polling is taking much longer to complete. Are you asking for the signature campaign, Twitter, or other? You can PM me your ID so I can check the records.

It has been proven that gaming ICO are more profitable in the long run , but this project sound awesom. A new gaming experience, to Compete, co-operate and trade with each other or simply meet your friends in complete privacy in a secure, censorship-resistant, decentralised autonomous universe that runs serverless and unstoppable.
It really is like the Oasis You might like this article at the Merkle: Bringing the Ready Player One OASIS to Reality with Blockchain Gaming https://themerkle.com/bringing-the-ready-player-one-oasis-to-reality-with-blockchain-gaming/

What do I need to participate in ICO?
A minimum of ? 50 to contribute (in BTC, ETH, LTC, ETC, DASH or ZEC) an not being a US citizen. Why? Im actually from Poland just curious It's not uncommon for projects to exclude US citizens. It has to do with the SEC and US laws. It's the same sort of thing as FATCA. With FATCA, many banks around the world stopped dealing with US citizens because FATCA was too heavy of a regulatory burden for them, making it impractical to deal with US citizens. So, the caveat there - we need to state that.
