On this issue, I find we need solutions to solve the problem more thoroughly! I hope the team will have them! However, this is also a good project and is highly applicable.

what further development can you offer? Huh

If you invest, it's going to make you smarter.
however it still has many risks! do not trust something too much, and in my opinion this project need more time to challenge!

I remember back in the day when Bitcoiners had a clue.

EDIT: Looks like he doubled-down.  Roll Eyes

Amazing, truly amazing...

Just a heads up, Electrum server may be down temporarily.

Good ole QT, tried and true, just keeps chugging along, staking it's little butt off!  Grin

I see that the community is not particularly confident in the project, looking at the schedule you can wait for another pump, maybe the positive news will come out

And where do you get that impression from?

Edit: On a more serious note, did Theymos create this [ANN] and use the SEC's fake website as his way of trying to enlighten people.

Or was their some sort of request by the SEC to shed some light on this within the forum.

I just got a ton of money from really liked the HoweyCoins initiative, and so I posted their advertisement took it upon myself to carefully write an honest ANN to fairly represent the HoweyCoins project. Certainly, my controllers I was happy with the results, and I'm glad to see so many suckers wise, intelligent, handsome investors taking an interest in this great project.

All well and good but, did your cat make any money? They tend to take off after a big score and you never see them again. Ungrateful Felines...
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NYC] NEW YORK COIN at 2017 MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE IN NYC! on: July 30, 2018, 12:46:02 PM
Greetings NYCoin!

Slosh here, just wanted to get you all up to date on what is happening with the dev team. We have just released version 1.3 of the Core wallet (see notice https://www.reddit.com/r/nycoincommunity/comments/91smfi/dev_updates_7252018/) which means we are ready to move ahead with the Security Updates! Please be sure to download and update your wallet accordingly as all changes take place at block height 4.8 million, around the 28th of October 2018. The new wallet is faster, more modern (from a code point of view), and has a few more features than the previous iteration. It's not pretty right now but when I get the chance to give it a face lift I will do so (or if you are a dev that knows their way around QT, hit me up).

We are currently in contact with exchanges and 3rd part wallet providers to get them up to date on the new code so we should have little interruption during the transition.

Now that the core code is out, I will be spending some time on the Electrum wallet. It has needed some love for far longer than I would have liked but we are shy on devs and the security updates were top priority. I will post an update here once Electrum is back on track and hopefully we will be able to get a few more nodes up and running.

Again, please update your wallets and nodes to the latest edition before height 4.8 million so that we can all move into a more secure future together! You can find the latest wallets here https://github.com/NewYorkCoin-NYC/nycoin/releases as well as bundled packages that contain all of the command line tools needed to run a headless node (scroll further down the release page).

Thanks for your devotion to the project and all you're work, it means a lot to all of us even if we rarely mention it. Kudos to everyone in the project!  Smiley

Ethereum getting some press as the blockchain to help us be as popular as the internet: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/18/ethereum-is-a-leading-driver-in-blockchain-says-circle-ceo.html

Crypto is growing up. As with all things new and scary, it will take time but soon, very soon, we will achieve critical mass and everything will grow like there's no tomorrow. This will occur with or without us pushing so, hang on! No matter what the cause, never, ever, give up!

267  Other / Meta / Re: DING - ranking up - DOES THE MERIT SYSTEM ACTUALLY WORKS? on: July 29, 2018, 12:33:47 PM
-snip-
I understand the difference between local forums and main section, but that’s what I wanted to point out too.
As a small community, we are mainly free from spam and other bounties bs, the “tone” of posts/conversations are keeped high level and so why not, in this scenario the merit system can actually be used as intended.

I hope my local community can be like yours. We've had major problems in Indonesian section as a lot of members only care about money. I don't mean everyone, but yeah, you know what I'm talking about.

BTW, there are a lot of people in my community who rank up and gain more than 100 merits like you do OP.
Congrats, and welcome to the club.

Too many people are here to make money. The original purpose of the board, as I've been told, was to bring developers and influencers together to disseminate information about Bitcoin, help new users through the technology and provide one single point where Devs and contributors could congregate. As with anything that starts out with a noble purpose, people will eventually bend it to their own priorities, mainly, making money in any way possible.

I like the Merit system but, I think it's a bit harsh. I would more like to see a ranking up system that combines length of time as a member, time spent posting in the forums, merit, and something like "extra credit" for really helpful posts. I know, impossible to administer right? Depends on how automated you can make it.

Many of you may have had a similar experience to mine. I started here around 2013/14 and rose to rank of "Hero" at which point my account was hacked and I lost it. No help from the Mods (my fault for not posting a signed message I suppose) so, I created a new account which was about to go Hero when it too was hacked. That's when this account was created. A month or so before this account was due to rank up to Hero, BOOM, Merit comes into play.

So now, back to the waiting game and being dependent on others (the part I really don't like) to make it back to Hero at least.

A true "love/hate" relationship. Anyway, enough of this, have real work to do. Wish you all the best!

I should probably update my photo to be honest. Even NYCMiner was expecting someone younger when we met at the conference at Atlantic City. I'm looking old, lol.

Great Interview Alan!

So I was looking at the dnotescoin.com, I dont see anything about the payment network. I think it may be a little easier for people to find that information to get started or at least understand it enough to feel like contacting you for more info.

just a thought,
Daniel

I think their waiting for more data from the field on performance and such. Won't be long now I'm sure...

Alan,

Just finished listening to your SoundCloud interview and I have to compliment you, nice job! You really made the case for Crypto explaining the issues with Fiat and governments. Very clear and concise. That quote the interviewer made from Machiavelli really sums up the state of the industry with one caveat, I think crypto supporters are more than "lukewarm", in fact, they are fanatics in most cases!  Grin

Devcoin Escrow ... L-0-L (yes that's a zero and not an "O")

So how long have you been involved in DevCoin? I read through your past posts, pretty much worthless. What gives you the right to say ANYTHING?

Now if you would like to help out, that would be a different story...

STAY AWAY! See the spikes in volumes? It's whales pumping and dumping. There is no real community around cloakcoin.

You Sir are a total and complete idiot with an agenda that we can easily ignore. Crawl back under your rock.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK on Binance 🔹 on: July 27, 2018, 05:25:17 PM
It looks like everybody is selling their altcoins to get bitcoin. Bitcoint is getting higher and higher but altcoins do not profit from that.

Actually, ALT coins DO profit from Bitcoin increasing in value since most ALTS are in the Bitcoin market. A raising tide lifts all ships...

It's a really great oportunity. Congrats about the project!  Smiley

It's fake... Don't any of these morons read the previous comments?
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - 4/2/2018 Now Live on: July 27, 2018, 03:58:52 PM
Please disregard this post...  Grin

I would, but that charming smiley face makes it impossible to ignore.

Right! I hate the fact that you can't delete a post that was in error so, "Smiley" will have to stand in and take the credit...

Oh, BTW, for anyone interested, Mercatox got my transfer "unstuck". I can put up with "growing pains" as long as tech support is responsive, and theirs is.

KUDOS to Mercatox' support team!

I think this is a good project, a clear direction, worth pursuing, hope the development team can go far in the future.

Hey moron, this is NOT a real project. It's an intentional scam by the US Gov't to show people how easy it is to get sucked in to an illegal security by fancy ad copy. There are NO "HoweyCoins"  It's a play on the "Howey Test", a test created by the Supreme Court for determining whether certain transactions qualify as "investment contracts. Geez!

BTW: You people who are trying to get your numbers up with fake, worthless or stupid posts disgust me. Thank God for Merit 'cause you're not going anywhere without it...
