261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally I did it (I am happy to join). on: December 20, 2023, 03:38:50 PM
Congratulations on your first bitcoin purchase. It is not easy to invest so much in bitcoin amidst the nature of economic in the country. Procrastination have killed many peoples dream of investing in bitcoin and they up not buying at all and regretting why they didn’t buy early when the price was lower. With this amount you’ve invested, you don’t need to bother too much about investment again, this will give you a lot of profit at bull run. If you have more you can invest more but if it was me I will be contended for now with the investment done so far.

Yeah! others cannot get enough courage to make their first step into investing in bitcoins because they are scared to lose their money because of what they read on social media and some posts that are hostile against bitcoins. Most likely they were influenced by those others who have no money to invest to begin with and they are just talking negatively about bitcoins. that's why when it comes to this, you need to take your time do your own research, and step out there to do and get your first bitcoins.

I think that is fine for some people not to have enough courage to invest, I mean for sure there would be a reason why they don't dare to invest like they are struggling financially, lack of knowledge, don't know how to start yet, etc. They can take their time to build up their courage to invest cause if you are rushing cause you feel you are being left behind like FOMO, it would just have a negative outcome. That is why it would be better to do your research than surf the web with anyone's opinion due to it could cause you unwise decision-making by FOMO.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You will burn on: December 20, 2023, 03:03:18 PM
Remember that any altcoin or shitcoin that exists, relies upon Bitcoin. Bitcoin might not be the first coin that existed in the crypto industry, but it is the first coin that survived and has the highest value in the market. Any altcoins have a higher volatility than Bitcoin causing its value to have a higher movement that people love cause they take advantage of it. Still, this only applies to short-term investment cause it is too random so if you're gonna invest expecting a great return then you won't expect it with altcoins, which is why it is still better to invest with Bitcoin as its value would surely increase in just a long period. There's no bad thing in investing in shtcoins or altcoins, as long as you know the projects and would exit sooner or later.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 20, 2023, 01:32:29 PM
It would never be a good idea to show or reveal your holdings to anyone even a friend, family, or partner. Anyone can be convinced if you show them what you have, for sure they would feel FOMO as they also want to have holdings like yours. From your post OP, just imagine your friend with whom you haven't had any conversation for years and learned that you have a lot of holdings with Bitcoin, would probably share the story with other friends or family. Now that some people are aware that you are holding Bitcoin which is already alarming as they could do such things just to have their hands on your Bitcoin just like hacking, blackmailing, kidnapping, or any violence. You can say that they are worth the trust but remember that anyone could do such things as they are blinded with the money since this world runs with money.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: December 20, 2023, 12:02:12 PM
From what I have observed so far in gambling people are attracted more to the simpler mechanics of the game which they think they can easily win or profit. Let's say slots, you would just need to pull the lever or push the button and wait to win, plus the fact that you can play slots on your own without any other player involved. The easier the gambling game, the easier the people to bet on anything you could say that to any type of gambling but still, they differ on the mechanics and the rules. Just imagine if you are playing poker games, you could still have to think of techniques and methods for you to win so people tend to be tired of thinking all the time, they could even quit by just simply having a wrong call in a round.
265  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 20, 2023, 10:32:24 AM
Nah, I would never regret knowing about gambling, especially since it was taught by my grandmother who passed away during the pandemic. Indeed, gambling would never be a good thing as you could lose numbers of money but it has built a number of memories with your friends, parents, partner, etc. It might be regretful for those people who have lost huge amounts of money in gambling as they are much more focused on profits than having fun. Plus you have to be responsible for yourself despite knowing gambling, you would have to control the urge to play and your emotions cause not only you might be addicted but the fact that you can waste all of your money. People would be aware of gambling and sooner or later would be learning it too, it would just differ on how they manage themselves.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing bitcoin to the orphans on my birthday on: December 19, 2023, 06:13:55 PM
I have seen you in the forum since we shared the same signature campaign before, I just want to say congratulations on doing some charity work for the children, that is actually a good way to celebrate your birthday by just simply sharing love and knowledge. It might not be that beneficial to you as you won't gain any profits or anything but you have the hearts and smiles of the children. I must say that these kids would be focused on the gifts rather than the knowledge, they might think that "Bitcoin" is a charity or the one who gave them gifts which I think could be a good thing. Also, this shows that even a single person earning from Bitcoin could help others show how helpful and powerful Bitcoin is. Not only did you help them but also motivated others in the forum to help others.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: Sea Piracy, it's effect on the local economy on: December 19, 2023, 04:55:10 PM
I believe that piracy still thrives on the ocean because there are powerful individuals that benefits from the criminal activities, if it's not so then the illegal and criminal business will not still be active today, because most of these countries have naval forces that can combat these criminals. Most of these pirates might have been ordinary fishermen that were brainwashed and trained into carrying arms and terrorising genuine ship crews who are doing their legitimate businesses. You'd wonder who arms them with sophisticated weapons and teaches them the commando styles of seizing ships and kidnapping their crews for ransom. Most crimes of theses magnitudes are highly organized, so there has to be deeper questions to be answered in order to find a lasting solution to the menace of these pirates, if not I think that it'll continue business as usual.

There will be always several people who will need resources and will rely on illegal activities like sea piracy. Not only the naval forces that scare them to start piracy but also the fact that even the crew itself has self-defense weapons such as guns, spikes, etc. which the pirates lack resources for them to enter the ship for looting. Just ordinary fishermen with a lack of experience in battle, since most of the terrorist who are using them lacks the number of men even kids take them as part of their men. Plus some of them are being blackmailed so they have no choice but to agree or else they will be killed. It is really hard to find a solution to this since the root of this problem probably would be poverty and almost every country in the world experience it.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone paid $450K for three (extremely) pixelated cartoon characters on: December 19, 2023, 03:34:51 PM
NFT was so hyped back then pre-pandemic 2019-2020 and so popular that even famous people are investing in it. Just imagining them already being successful and having a lot of money and still buying this kind of stuff would make you probably think that they are money laundering, but some people like me, have tried to invest in NFTs and make profits cause if you are lucky to be whitelisted, you can buy them at a cheaper price then sell it for a higher price. $450k is so huge that I would prefer to invest it into much better investments like Bitcoin, real estate, etc. if they might plan it just to launder their money then that might be good, but if you are a person who will try to make money, is still depends on the roadmap of the project in how you can benefit by holding their NFTs.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: December 17, 2023, 04:02:53 PM

I think the instance where people face this incomplete investment is when they invest too much money compared to what they have. Some people don’t understand that you don’t have to invest everything or almost everything. When you get money, maybe your salary, you were gifted or anything, and you want to buy Bitcoin, don’t just put all of it in because eventually you’ll need that money and you will run to the investment. So, invest even if it’s just little amount of it, just the other and solve your daily problems. For people this applies to though.

Most likely FOMO is one of the reasons why people would invest everything they have just to join the ride of the market. Some would even reach the time that they would sell their properties or take a loan just to have an investment which would obviously worsen their situation, Knowing that Bitcoin is still volatile, it might reach its ATH for years causing you to not afford to invest cause you would expect return of investment for a long time. We have methods to avoid this kind of scenario such as you have mentioned where you can use a small amount for investment which is the DCA method. Investing all-in would be a dumb thing to do if you are already struggling financially to provide all of your needs.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I finally sold my computer and bought bitcoin. I don't regret . on: December 17, 2023, 03:07:05 PM
Not sure if you are being FOMO that causes you to sell your laptop, well, I don't blame you since Bitcoin keeps increasing its value. You have replied that you have sold the laptop as the one you are using in college, it might affect your studies as you would only have a cellphone for any online stuff you would have to do unless your school has a computer for students. I'm not disagreeing with your idea but I'm even supporting you with your decision, just have a plan and target price to exit cause with that amount you could already profit for months or years of holding. Good luck with your journey with Bitcoin as well as with your study!
271  Economy / Economics / Re: my mum want to make a lot of money, money can fix everything, me hurt not import on: December 17, 2023, 02:44:03 PM
Money can fix everything but not at the detriment of yourself and others to make it happens because nobody gets all the money in life at a stretch.

Tell your mom to calm down that you and her can't risk you both life because of how desperate she is to make money. Is someone that has life will hustle for money not the way round when someone has lost his or her life in a mistake that would have simply avoided.

My suggestion to you at this time is to keep telling your mum that the truck is not in order and there is no way someone would risk his or her life on it because of the belief that money can fix everything. Life should come first before money

Getting money is hard these days I know but one should not enhance his desire so much that he ruin his life to earn money. Money comes and goes but life of a person if once end then it never comes back.

Some People never think about the life of others but wants money, I don't know why there give such importance to money instead of humans. If they start honouring human instead of money then this world will be a great place to live.

If a child share all these circumstances to his mother politely then may be she understands this matter and then not put burden on his child. There are lots of other ways of earning so try to adopt another one but don't play with your life.

I think the reason is the money itself, we know that this world runs on money, so if you lack it financially you will probably suffer a lot. People don't value their life or the others cause they are still there, they know that you won't be leaving this world any time soon so they are being careless. We should not let our guard down as accidents may occur at times, which I hope not, but eventually will come so we need to be ready and try to be cautious every time. From OP's post, we know that a parent should know what is best for their children and would do anything for their safety, I understand that having a financial problem is hard, but it would be better to prioritize the lives of your loved ones
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 17, 2023, 12:44:22 PM
Well, we know that gambling is for everyone, it just depends on how responsible you are when you are gambling. From your case OP, you have mentioned that both parties are gambling and also they have a child, from the fact that you have a child and both of you are risking your money, just imagine what would happen in case of emergency, how can you provide all the needs of your child. In this case, it would depend on the situation, cause one might have a gambling addiction and won't stop even if another one has already stopped, which can cause conflict. As a partner, they should know to stop for the sake of the family, children must rely upon them so they must sacrifice their habits and enjoyment for the betterment financially.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prove me wrong: Gambling is both more relaxing and entertaining than trading! on: December 16, 2023, 06:25:37 PM
Gambling is much simpler than trading, even a kid could do bet and win money. Trading is complicated since there are a lot of factors that you have to consider just in able to profit and earn money, like for example analysis, techniques, charts, etc. Plus you can say that when you do trading in also draining as you would need to consider your emotions and feelings that could affect your decision-making, if you are drained of course your physical health would be affected as well, it's like a domino effect I think.

If you make a wrong judgment in trading you will eventually lose money, which is similar to gambling, the difference is gambling is much more fun and thrilling, but it is still based on luck while for trading you can reduce the risk if you have knowledge and experience in this field. Some people prefer to watch their money grow by simply watching sports, horse racing, esports, etc. than watching charts waiting for some miracle to happen.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 16, 2023, 06:15:23 PM
Betting is fun but I prefer to watch and have fun without placing a bet because my focus will be on the game itself and not for the possible result of our bet.

We all know the stress of betting especially we always want to get the profit but the result is always different. If you are watching the game and still place the bet, then I’m sure you can still enjoy it since we all have different view when it comes to enjoying the game.

I agree with you, it is more fun to watch since there is more thrill to know the risk of winning and losing in the hands of your team that you have bet, cause if you are the one who's playing, for sure you can conclude the possible outcome since you know your strength and weakness. Spectating is much better because you are just stressing for your bet to win, cause if you are the player, you would stress up yourself to win and profit. Whenever I watch a game without bets, it feels good without thinking of losing money, but whenever I predict that a team will win in sports betting, it is so regretful.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 16, 2023, 02:51:13 PM
It is true what you say,but this can happen to someone who was not addicted to gambling before marriage. If one was addicted to it before he gets married, there is nothing responsibility can ever do about it.The reason they call it addiction is because it is very hard to stop. How do you think the family can make some one who has been an addict to gambling stop? When he is looking for more money to take care of his family's needs and the needs of his baby or wife, instead, the habbit will increase more because he really wants to meet up the needs of the family.
But you can easily change if you weren't really addicted to gambling before settling down.

I believe a person addicted to gambling even before settling down and getting married can still change his habit and quit gambling. Responsibility has a way of changing people. Obviously, not everyone can become responsible just by settling down. That’s when the spouse in the relationship has a good influence on the behavior of the man.
I know with an addiction, it’s very difficult to stop but it’s still very possible to quit. And with an understanding and loving spouse, the man, if he values his family would do anything possible to keep the family together including striving hard to quit his gambling habit.
If someone is not married and is addicted to gambling, maybe he will not think about marriage because his focus is only on gambling. He will remain alone without wanting to do anything more useful than just gambling. But it will be different when he is married because if his gambling activities become known to his partner, he will be involved in a conversation or discussion with his partner about his gambling activities. His partner will advise him to reduce his gambling addiction and will even ask him to stop gambling by visiting a rehabilitation center. His partner does not want to see him continue to have a gambling addiction and wants to help him cure his gambling addiction.

I think no one wants a partner who is addicted to gambling unless you are rich cause despite your habit, you can still manage financially. It would be better if you meet someone and plan to be in a committed relationship, try to change yourself first, cause I think it is been normalized that a man would rely upon their partner just to change their bad traits. Well, if you are already married there is a lot of distraction in life that you can do that you can even forget about gambling, like for example having a date, doing chores, work or even sex, etc. Just want to say that do not use marriage as a way of escape from your addiction, cause you are involving another party which I think is not a good thing.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I ask for refund if casino game has bugs? on: December 16, 2023, 12:15:28 PM
It depends, cause there are some cases that when a slot or casino game is faulty it could affect the probability of winning. I think the casino would only check if there are some bugs in the game if you have won a big amount of prizes, cause for sure they would let you win let's say if it is only below $100. This would be difficult if you are playing an online casino, for sure you won't play gamble while recording your device unless you have experienced already this kind of scenario, but if you are playing in the actual casino, they can use CCTV to check or even the machine if there's an error. I suggest reading the terms and condition regarding this issue, cause some casino doesn't refund or give you the winnings if you encounter any kind of bugs while playing.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 16, 2023, 05:43:42 AM
Pursuing to become a millionaire in sports betting with that method will just create a delusional thinking and will be out of focus. In sports betting, it's better to have consistent wins instead of always dreaming a huge money winning in return with only the use of a small bet.
Yes, it's the same as when we work and get the money. As I know, the professional gambler is just a worker who gets the money daily. I have rarely heard a professional gambler just make a big money on 1 night. they sure didn't get rich overnight but gradually and the same as work on the main office. If we heard a gambler just won and to be millioner on one night, it's certain he's not a profesional gambler, but a person who have luck and maybe will get lost and poor again when he continues gambling. In fact, Someone who makes gambling as a job just to earn a little money but daily just to meet his living needs.

Professional gamblers for sure have sponsors to support them in their game, for sure they are skilled and talented which is why they are considered professional which is why some companies sponsor them. Sure they cannot be rich overnight but if you have the funds and can continue to play, you could still get rich in a long period of time, the downside is no matter how much you win, you will still split it with your sponsors. With that, you can say you can make a living with gambling, but you won't be a millionaire with that method cause gambling still rely on luck despite on your skills and talent, you just reduce the risk of losing with your skills.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 16, 2023, 04:01:28 AM
Never heard this one. Wow something new. I say he is a fool for making such a decision but I think that he is a hero for overcoming his gambling addiction. It's not something one can get rid of in an overnight. So I what he did can be considered as an act of heroism. I know because I have been there. Those who were an addict at a time knows the feeling. Judging one person from a distance can be very easy. But when one actually go through this only then he knows how hard it is.
It is easy to get addicted to something but it is very difficult to get back from addiction to normal life. Those who have once been addicted to drugs and have recovered from that addiction know how difficult the challenge is. We may be good in that we do not do drugs or we are not addicted to drugs and therefore we cannot understand how difficult it is for a person to recover from drug addiction. I was addicted to gambling so I can imagine how hard it is to get back into a normal life. Ever since I felt that I needed to go back to a normal life I tried and made up my mind a lot even though I failed several times to get back to a normal gambling life but I didn't give up and I managed to get out of there. If there are people around us who are addicted to gambling or drugs and they want to return to normal life we should help them to return to normal life.

I agree with you, addiction could be easily attained by just doing things over the limit that has been already affecting them in many ways such as financially, mentally, emotionally, or even physically. However, the process of being clean would take a lot of time and seeking help from professionals. Some would literally take years even if they are that old, they would only realize that they have been eliminated from the addiction that they have. Remember that even doing just a simple thing like limiting yourself wouldn't help you overcome your addiction, it could go back to zero once you try once again while you are in the process of cleaning. I also want to say congrats on overcoming your addiction, it's not as easy as it might sound, just surround yourself with positive people who could give you a healthy lifestyle.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 15, 2023, 05:47:35 PM
On average, those who commit suicide are not true gamblers or professionals in their field, most of those who commit suicide are beginner gamblers who become gambling addicts because they do not limit the budget they have, use money for living needs, not money that is ready to be used until In the end it gave him a new problem, he had to borrow money from a loan shark and then get an evil loan shark.

I know that suicide cases are only carried out because of pressure which makes him increasingly frustrated, making his life no longer meaningful so he decides to end his life because he cannot pay debts or recover the money he has lost previously or it could be important assets that are sold because his gambling behavior is not controlled and he limits his budget properly. This should be an important lesson for beginners to understand every risk of gambling such as losing.

It’s true that most of the newbie players is prone on playing without any control that will result to suicide when loss heavily but there some cases too that even old player commit suicide if they lose huge amount since old players is not exempted on suffering huge loses on gambling.

On this story, I believe he is just the newbie since the amount involved is too small that needs to resort to suicide to to cope on loses.

I think the reason why the suicide rate among newbies are high is due to their lack the funds, they might have the funds but they can't afford to lose which cause them to take their own life, just to escape reality. Some would say why would they do that, remember that our world runs on money, some people could even buy someone's life instead of thinking like that it would much be better to help them, there are a lot of ways to help someone who is suicidal not only financially but emotionally, mentally or physically. Even professionals are prone to this kind of case. Just like in investment, do not stake the money that you can't afford to lose, not only it would affect you financially but it could worsen your situation in many things. You can use limiting yourself to avoid losing that much money.
280  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: December 15, 2023, 05:01:32 PM
As we grow older, we want stability and that's why no doubt that many are going to choose that stable monthly income from whatever you do. But this time, it's no longer that stability that people want but freedom. The era is changing and owning a business may be hectic at the beginning if you are still on establishing part but once it's already established, it will run on its own and having people will make you earn money without the need for you to allot a lot of time then that goes the tenfolds of profits and at the same time freedom to do anything you want anytime.

Stability could also be achieved when a business blossoms and flourish, we only experience instability when we are doing something that is not yielding the required or adequate result that could be impressive on us, in some regards we are to receive the blame because the lesser we are putting into what we do the poorer it's becomes for us to see it performing well in the economy market, so we should double up if we expect more.

It is really hard to achieve stability not only in terms of performance and efforts you are exerting to improve your business, but there is also the time that could ruin everything that you have planned for. I think every investor in the business industry is aware of that risk which is any kind of time like for example the pandemic. This would be achieved if building a business includes a long-term plan and also being prepared for unexpected events in the process. Performance you would just need to find and hire people who are trusted and well-mannered cause people who have skills and talent but lack discipline could affect your business.
