So what exactly is making AM shares worth 1.6+btc? Did you see the auction thread? They are set to have a 600 btc revenue come in from selling 100 ghash of mining power (10 units of 10 GHash at at least 60 btc each), auction will be done in the next couple days. Do yourself, and everyone here a favor and actually run the math for likely divs. You'll see the price is nowhere near justified, unless you think BTC will hit like $300 soon.... Well, if you factor in the coming hashrate increase for AM, it is justified.

In our plan, the auction of limited sample boards will have one round per week, and last for a few weeks. After we have enough feedback and information we will do with more quantity and revised designs. But don't expect our products to spread towards everywhere at least in the next month, because most of our next batch will be used for ourselves.
Not actual anymore? Not confirmed yet. this went waaay too high for 10GH
No, not too high especially when you compare to other offerings. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Friendly reminder: Yochdog, you'll have to bid more than 60 to clear all, as bitsalame has bidded at 60 before. Courtesy recap of potential winners:

2@66.5 Or 2@26.5
Is it ok if I bid anyone above? That is: Case 1: I bid 2@66.5, then my previous 2@36.5 are canceled, and now my bid is 2@66.5; Case 2: I put 2@26.5, then my previous 2@36.5 are canceled, and now my bid is 2@26.5.
Am I right?
Anyone above? The first bid would place you on top of the bidderlist. 2 units, each for 66.5, the second one would practically delete your bids because the price is lower then all bids. Only the first is accepted here - else anyone can cancel their bids effectively by bidding ' 2@0.000001'.

Well, an on-hand Avalon batch 1 goes for around 3-40k, which is around 470~BTC for 63 Gh/s. By this logic, the fair price for a 10GH/s device like this would be around 80~BTC.
shhhhhhhhh ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) They only went for 30K - 40K because BTC was trading @$200+ You mine BTC with them, not $, so my guess is with BTC being down over 60%, the prices of those Avalons will also be down 60% Meh, take a look at recent auctions for batch #1 - you'll see that they still go for the same price. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178635.new#newBid guys, BID! ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Seriously: 85 BTC for 80GH/s @ Avalon and now there's bids over 50 BTC for 10GH/s ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) ? That is plain crazy... The difference is on-hand and not on-hand. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) AM has the chips in hand ready to ship.

I appreciate everyone who selflessly donates their BTC towards securing the network. Once the hardware is cheaper and widely available I will also pitch in.
+1, Up to 25 and still considering it.... But now...... Considering that the chips ship immediately after the auction ends, the price isn't that outrageous. The ROI is much higher than one ordering a BFL, for example.

I will repost from the Ripple forum: Amazing the number of dormant accounts that never ever posted in BITCOINTALK.ORG that have come alive so that they can get Ripples. Look for any user with "JR.Member" and see how many post they have done. These accounts were created years ago and never had a single post until after the giveaway.
Almost half of the giveaway addresses on page 58 are from 2011 and never had a posting until today.
This approach to a giveaway is falling apart due to this abuse. Also results in a ton of spam postings.
An example: (easy to find)
RaducuIulianu Registered Date: June 16, 2011, 09:23:04 AM #Post: 6 (All on March 1st) Ripple Account: rEiUFmQbeEJKmHdSTuCTfBwUAck6A8jfT5 Immediately moved to another account: rEiUFmQbeEJKmHdSTuCTfBwUAck6A8jfT5 which has a ton of 40K transfers to it.
What the...? This means Bitcointalk is either compromised or one of its admins got really low. Maybe this has to do with the old hack that leaked some passwords and attacker has access to old accounts now? This guy just gathers money from all acounts into this one: raRuz7se7tqNQJECUWjJdqSnEAR3F2PgcK and then caches them out to BTC via Bitstamp. Anyway, I think this fraud has to stop. Both OpenCoin and Bitcointalk guys should do something about it! Ripple has enough negative attitude towards it without such fraudulent, shady affairs. EDIT: Sorry, the original post is 1.5 months old, didn't notice the date ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) so I guess it's not that urgent. But still - was anything done about that? Did you try to figure out who the bad guy is? No, the forum itself was not compromised. Many old accounts were under the control of a few users who probably planned to use them to scam in the near future,(old accounts seem more credible to newbies) as there's no registering restrictions on the board.

Hmm I took that to mean "used" = past tense, and they are selling them as they upgrade them to new hardware that's coming on line now or shortly.
I guess you are personally confirming that isn't the case.
I would say this is the case considering that the entire farm's built from these blades. I'll confirm with friedcat though just to be 100% sure.

... and one more question? These are obviously the first version boards. If they are also the current version then they have made over 6,000 of them already. Are they current tech or old tech as far as what you are making at the moment?
As per the OP, it's their current tech. (also used by themselves for AM) ... Sorry I can't see that written there anywhere. Basically I'm assuming that they are now up to making better hardware and are selling the old hardware as they upgrade it. So my question can be rephrased as: am I wrong? (but yes that 6,000 number is wrong I should have said >600 - yeah I'd imagine 6,000 would be basically impossible at this point considering how much hardware is required for 10GH/s) Introduction This is the first round of a series of auctions for Bitfountain products. 10 Block Erupter blades, the same as the ones used in ASICMINER's actual deployment, are available for bidding in this round.
