A new update to the android app is being tested... by me!

People with accounts will now be able to use their API key + their username on the app.

With the additional information, you can be notified when a new block is found.
I'll post here after doing some more tests Cheesy

Cool, looking forward to it!
2622  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Could you in theory ? on: April 13, 2015, 05:26:00 PM
Cool idea, I'll follow along.  I want to do a similar set up with solar at my house, just a small set up to only power miners.

Look up and out into the universe, see how many flat objects you see out there compared to how many round ones.
2624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: April 12, 2015, 10:02:29 PM
I will be happy when blockchain and client is read off cloud storage if that ever comes.

Cloud = centralization

I'll never use anything "in the cloud".

I don't see why people complain about 30 or so gigs.  A terabyte is cheap, no one should be complaining about data storage in 2015.
2625  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 33 blocks solved! on: April 12, 2015, 10:00:11 PM
Every time I wanted to quit my pursuit to solomine a block I would look at the photo above my miners with a quoute from Eleanor Roosevelt that reads "THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE BEAUTY OF THEIR DREAMS."

I have been solo-mining for much of 2014 on my own node with 230GH/s and with no luck.

In December 2014 I picked up three antminer s1's and two antminer c1's but could not figure out how to solo-mine on my own node with the antminer c1's so I have been exclusively solo-mining between three different solo-mining pools with those miners, although I shut off a few of the s1's about a month ago due to the heat.

Also last month, I rented 1.5PH's for a few hours with no luck either, and also 120THs for about a day and a half.

At times you just want to throw in the towel and give up, And then when you least expect it life may just throw you a bone.

Although I am still in the hole a little bit, this has almost brought me back to even, and I must say that the sense of accomplishment was worth it. I can now say that I have found a block!

So don't give up, and don't throw your life savings renting hashpower, because in this game there are no guarantees and 2TH's can win just the same as 1.5PH

Good luck to you all, may the next block be yours!

Well done, it's what all us little guys hope for.  Which box found it?

Now go solve another!

And how hot do you think electricity is?
tl;dr hotter than the sun

Thank you both again.  I managed to get everything installed and working more or less; my last update time displays as a negative number though.  Actually, it always displays about -5 29, everything updates as it should, but the time just sits at the negative value.  Any idea what I could have messed up?

I modified the script with a unixtime stamp converter to show the lastupdate correct and i modified the layout for me.

Modified Script Download: solo-mining-stats-new.zip

Thank you, your change fixed my lastupdate to display the correct time.  I also like your layout, well done.  Cool
2628  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Outdated Miners for Research on: April 12, 2015, 06:26:42 AM
I have an Antiminer U3 that just stopped hashing last week after only 3 weeks of operation, might be perfect for your project (it's <50gh at factory volt/freq).  When you plug in power the fan fires up, when you plug in the USB the USB power led comes on, when you start CGminer the mining led flashed on a few times, but then stays dark.  The mining LED should come on and stay on, but it doesn't and cgminer never even recognizes that a device has been plugged in (but it will give an error when you unplug it, which I find strange).

I was going to send it to Bitmain to see if they could repair it, but I'd rather give an independent guy a shot at it.  Let me know what you think, I could sell it to you as is and then buy it back from you if you're able to fix it.

If you want to ship this item to me I will pay the return shipping once it is fixed - if I can't fix it then I'll buy it from you.

Let me know if that sounds reasonable. I wasn't originally looking at a repair service but it's a fun idea.

Sounds good to me, pm me your shipping address and I'll drop it in the mail.  Cool

Great guy to work with and help learn this hardware.  I sent him a broken U3 at my cost. He fixed it no charge, and I ended up selling it to him because I have 2 others and didn't really need it, it has a better home now. Great guy to deal with, very helpful, knows hardware!
2629  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newest Diff thread April 5 to April 18th on: April 12, 2015, 05:56:29 AM
We wouldn't benefit doing block withholding in any way.

But evil miners could do that with modified mining software. Every pool is prone to this kind of attack, not only rentals.

If there was a (simple) way to detect such activity of miners, we would already have it implemented. We believe that is the negative issue of current pooled mining concept.

Its weird how people are paying 20% over BTC right now at Nicehash just to mine BTC directly.

Currently the price is 0.012300 Th/BTC/Day. And they aren't mining an altcoin but BTC itself.

Wow I am surprised on price what is happening?  I cant think of any release on coins to make it so much.

Its due to TRON coin. Which was launched today. Currently 7 Ph/s is mining it at the moment.

The coin looks like a total scam to me. No idea why the hype.

A lot of people jump at [what they perceive to be] a chance a a quick buck.  P&D
2630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: cryptoGlance [v2.0.2] :: Open-source, self-hosted, multi-rig monitoring tool! on: April 12, 2015, 04:06:08 AM

Mobile Miner is an online solution vs a self hosted version (such as CryptoGlance). Some users prefer to not port-forward their router to their machine running CryptoGlance. This way they can monitor their machines remotely by using another service. More details here: http://www.mobileminerapp.com/

Great, thanks, I will look into it further.

heatsink's Security is.The piece alumine was left from side.

owner tell me this "it was running when I unplugged it to send it to you! If not we will send you a different one. "

Have them send you a different one, and ask them to package it better.

Will you ever be including alerts and more communication with the user so they don't have to keep looking at the stats? Nice having a text/sms/email indicating one of your miners is too hot or hashing lower then normal. This to me would be the development path for this program, right?

FYI you can do this already with the existing MobileMiner support.

I noticed Mobile Miner in the options, what is that?
2635  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: s3 problem , why moving ? on: April 11, 2015, 02:31:34 PM
i can't open .

It's very simple, all you need is a screw driver.

any update on adding the sort feature ? i really like your software but i have 20 rigs and when i add a new one , i don;t want to delete everything and start again cause i want my new rig to be in the middle with the others of it's type

I agree, being able to rearrange the windows would be awesome.  Being able to minimize any of the windows down to just the name plate would be nice, too.

Very nice.  From my perspective, with my two little machines those two payouts more than doubled what I get in an entire week from a twitter campaign.  Mining rocks! Cool

Is that a fixed amount or does it go up after a determined kw usage and fuel cost???

What fuel cost?  It's hydroelectric.

For comparison, my rate here in southern California is 10 times higher.  If I didn't have trees around I'd have solar.  I may still look into a small solar setup, even enough just for miners would be cool.

I miss the old getwork protocol and the ability to monitor stats real-time via the cgminer user interface. Are there more robust versions of cgminer available I can upload and run from the shell command line?

You can use cryptoGlance to monitor all your machines on one screen, I just started using it, great little program: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=569924.0

does it work on Mac?

I'm not sure, check their thread and ask.

the zipfile was only a little help for you....but it is no problem that you don't trust me.

here ist the modified script as source (check.py) to copy & paste if you want.

Thank you, it's not that I don't trust you, it's that I don't trust anyone.  Wink
