All coins are removed from their holders (slabs, 2x2's, airtites, whatever) before they get to the graders. This prevents any bias from a lower grade, or from a competing company.
Slab cracking and resubmitting is very common. And you'd be surprised how effective it can be.
Agreed it has worked well for me in the past. I still am a firm believer in cracking the slabs before I submit though.

Crack the slabs it is really easy to do without damaging the coins. All you need is a large flathead screw driver...I have cracked many slabs

I have agreed to escrow the 6BTC for this project. I will post the address once it has been funded.

Just signatures for the .25 bounty for now.

Not in a huge rush, but need it before next month starts. Lets put an end date of 2/27/2015.

I think that the Casascius market is back to normal these days after being slow for several months. Personally I only see the prices going up from here so best to grab them sooner than later. Currently ANACS is having a sale on grading services ($30 off for orders of 10 coins) -> http://www.anacs.com/contentPages/Specials/CotM_Special.aspx *Waits for this thread to get nuked*

Is the bounty for signature separated with avatar? That would be great if you explain it specifically This is for the signature, but I will most likely need an avatar soon. There is no set ending time for this just waiting for multiple entries to pick one.

I know the owner of this exchange and would vouch for him any day of the week. I just signed up and am getting ready to make some purchases! These guys are legit as they come

I am not a graphics designer. I think there is nothing wrong with Bladedout's current avatar. It looks better than all of the ones on offer. Where are all of the submissions? I thought my bounty was pretty good Your bounty is good. Designers are lost. I think they need more directions from you. My current was designed by MaliceRed and is very nice. I want something off the wall crazy or funny maybe. I really do not know what I am after...was hoping for some wacky creative design to stand out.

I think it could go either way on the non trusted feedback. I personally have it enabled by default because only a handful of people are actually trusted here. For every legit non trusted feedback there are 2 spam ones by an angry user. Maybe have a system where non trusted is shown depending on that users overall rating?
Trust by default network users - "Trusted Feedback" (top group) - shows by default Users with some positive non trusted feedback - "Feedback" (middle group) - shows by default *from members group and up* Users marked red or from newbie/jr memeber status - "Untrusted Feedback" (bottom group) - remains hidden by default
Not sure if it would help any or not though...

Nice submissions so far! I will make a decision in 2 days.

I do not trust purse as they can not stop carded purchases. Saving some money with the risk of fraud is not worth it. I use gyft.com and have absolutely no concerns about the codes be legit or not.
True, since amazon has your address as well (and the buyer might use the address for bad purposes as well), they can track you down and charge YOU for fraud, instead of the guy that used the stolen credit card. 20% is really not worth the risk, gyft gives 5% off and thats a GUARANTEED rate, with no chance of fraud, and its your own account. Exactly - Plus the carded purchases might not get caught for a month or 2. Saving some % is just not worth the hassle.

My first thought was Quickseller...I never would have guessed you Elianite (I rarely see you trading Casascius coins).

Meh not really after more silver, but interested in that brass 2011.
I will toss a 5BTC bid out there.

I wonder if we will need devices like those 6 months from now.
Considering the next Bitcoin Core client will allow block pruning, which means you only need to store 550 blocks instead of the entire chain.....
We still need the entire chain for history though. No matter what we always need full nodes.
