SSD's are just too expensive for me to justify right now, I know everybody keeps annoyingly swearing by them but honestly, as I said, you guys have no idea how slow my processor is, that's going to be the biggest improvement and as far as I'm concerned the only necessary improvement, the extra RAM will help plenty too. Spending such an amount of money on an SSD drive that isn't even that large just to shave a few seconds off the loading times doesn't sit right with me as you've seen me demonstrate It takes 5 minutes to load Battlefield currently so I'm more than happy with the idea of being able to load it in less than 30 seconds.

Going by the youtube benchmarks other games should load even faster, so yeah, I'm not bothered about SSD, talk to me in a year or two when 1TB SSD's are the same price as HDDs and I'll have probably bought one.
2682  Other / Off-topic / Kids today are spoiled with their gaming computers! on: November 29, 2014, 05:54:21 AM
lol!

But Seriously, I was on Battlefield 4 and mentioned the new processor I was getting and as expected there was at least one that bitched about how it wouldn't make much of a difference, then I mentioned the fact I had been playing with a dual core processor for about five years and there was an "Oh" and immediate silence.

No wonder games aren't optomised anymore, some people are just so used to quad cores and more they don't fucking see the point!

fyi, these will be my new specs as of Monday, I actually can't wait and I'm curled up in a ball right now having withdrawal because I'll be able to play Star Citizen at max settings if I get everything installed.

Processor: AMD FX8350 8 Core 4.0ghz
Graphics Card: HD Radeon 6970 MSI Lightning ( Switching in the graphics card because it's still plenty powerful for what I need to do )
RAM: 8GB

previous specifications:

Processor: Intel Core Duo 3.0ghz
Graphics Card: HD Radeon 6970 MSI Lightning
RAM: 4GB

To put this in perspective for the foetuses who won't understand why this will be such a life changer for me, currently a game of Battlefield 4 can take up to 5 minutes to load, according to some benchmark videos I looked at the shiny new 8 core processor I'm getting will make it so that the loading time is only up to 26 seconds, adding to that, I will no longer need to turn off my wallets to save processing power for my gaming or loading up anything else that takes awhile because of course I will have have an extra spare 4 processors chugging away in the background instead. So I'm actually going to be more productive now in my work because I'm not sitting around forever waiting for anything to fucking load! Also my games won't crash as easily so that will mean a lot less stress in general, unless of course the coding is still crap, but then I can officially blame the game at that point.

Anyone else getting a new computer for Christmas? Cheesy

Definitely depends on the person Tongue I just find it easier to read bright on dark Cheesy if you give me a white background and plain black text I often miss several things for some reason.
2684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin discussed in British Parliament on: November 29, 2014, 05:18:47 AM
Fucking parliament I can't believe currency and money is 'backbench' issue, they really try their best to hide it all from the public and keep people ignorant.
2685  Other / Off-topic / Re: THEC0DE | coding based community Forum on: November 29, 2014, 05:14:29 AM
I don't like light on dark websites.  Hard to read.   Undecided

Really? I find it's the opposite for me, I can actually read code when I have a black background with a bright text, guess it's down to personal preference or whether you're a right brain/left brain thinker Cheesy
2686  Other / Off-topic / Re: Am I the only girl on here? : ( on: November 29, 2014, 05:11:34 AM
I don't think you are girl. You are trolling us.

It's catch 22 with you guys. I sent a pic to a couple of guys on here who had been pestering me for pics and they still didn't believe me, so, whatever.

>_< You do realise there are pretty much 4 - 5 guys like b!z who are the only ones giving a shit and spamming this thread right? What the hell, it's your own fault if you get baited by them but I just thought I'd point it out, most people don't really care that much so if you go around posting pesonal information etc. that's your own fault.
2687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tips for Talking with Your Family about Bitcoin at Thanksgiving on: November 28, 2014, 02:50:51 PM
Don't, it's like me hearing about people who have to put up with their racist grandparents or something at thanksgiving you'll just be annoying Tongue

It's not perfect, but there's a reason why so many Europeans think your country is ridiculous.

I think it's safe to say that most European countries have problems of their own to worry about. Pot calling the kettle black.

Yeah but at least we recognise that, that's the point, you guys just rage and blame homosexuals or say god told you to do it Tongue
2689  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where should a Freelancer go? on: November 28, 2014, 11:44:27 AM
Ah Freelancer, that brings back memories. Well, once you've saved up about 3mil, first you go to Omicron Theta to get an Eagle, then you go to Omicron Gamma to get some Tizonas and Cannonballs, finally you go to the Unknown to get some Nomad Cannons. Wink

Well, you just made my day! Thank ya Smiley

Mine too. Thanks Smiley

LOL! I was wondering who would bring that up Tongue

2692  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dutch move 122 tons of gold out of US on: November 28, 2014, 06:56:15 AM
Democracy or monarchy doesn't matter in this case, because US has no gold at all. That's a real reason why they are not allowing germans to inspect their gold, for example.

If I were to theorise they probably keep it in ratios like with fractional reserve banking in their own system, so they piss around with it in the back when the countries aren't looking and keep a certain amount just in case people get suspicious like the Dutch are, if they haven't given it to the Germans then that probably means they've messed with the German gold and can't get it back.

Wait for the swiss referendum  Wink

I wish we all had Direct Democracy Sad
2694  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are you going to buy on black friday? on: November 28, 2014, 05:55:21 AM

I'm not going to buy

I hate shopping  Angry

I'm going to sleep all the damn Friday

Honestly that's the best choice, come December you need to have all your Christmas shopping done and that way you can just relax for the Christmas week, I did that once and it was fantastic, just a question of making sure you do it each year Tongue
2695  Other / Politics & Society / Re: It's funny to see these thugs in Ferguson bitching about how they have nothing on: November 28, 2014, 05:41:16 AM
Oh look, another ignorant race-baiting thread.

It's only the 100th one I've seen this week

I like to think that the issue is more of the fact that police think they can get away with shooting unarmed people for no reason which is what everybody should be concerned about, but then again, it seems as though I have totally different priorities from other people, like giving a shit about someone's skin colour and I am in a very small minority.
2696  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dutch move 122 tons of gold out of US on: November 28, 2014, 04:16:33 AM
Wasn't aware the U.S government even had any gold anymore.
2697  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Portfolio finally hit l337 level lol on: November 28, 2014, 04:14:58 AM
Grats, now buy Bitcoin because that shits going to crash next year, you just figured out how to profit from hyperinflation.

>buy bitcoin because that shits going to crash next year

how does that even make sense

Sorry, I just took some drugs for my cold

Buy Bitcoin, because those stocks your holding are going to crash next year

-_- Cheesy WEEEEEEEE!

I just negotiated being able to get a new PC for Christmas HURRAY!

I forgot how utterly evil Steam sales are when it's Black Friday and Christmas -_-

STOP TEMPTING ME! OH FOR FUCKS SAKE EVEN EA ARE DOING IT!

OH NO THEY HAVE TITANFALL FOR £7.49! AHHHHHHHH!!

have some self control and still living with your parents huh? Wink

lol *facepalm* I'm not as bad as some people at least, I'm basically considering the PC a loan because it's pricey, but I did make it as cheap as I could components wise, also I've been carefully managing my money so far, they haven't actually had to pay nearly as much as they would normally have considering they saved up for me to go to university so they've got a lot more more money than they normally would have. It's a good thing I studied economics otherwise they'd be a lot worse off, I keep telling them to try and prepare for the crash because they think that their pensions will save them ( lol! We all know how that works out with hyperinflation don't we? ) so I've decided I'm giving my dad at least some Bitcoin for Christmas.

As for my own situation, I just pretty much need to catch a break in ONE of the projects I'm working on or get lucky with speculation and I'm set really but that all depends on how next year goes, but yeah, powerful PC good, steam and origin sales bad >_< looking to get off the parent state as soon as possible Cheesy

By the way, what do you think of this setup? I'm adding my ATI Radeon 6970 I already have to it.

RAM: 8GB
Processor: AMD FX 8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor 4.00GHz Piledriver Socket AM3+
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 6970

Cheesy should finally be able to run shit now! And do lots of modelling etc. to boot!
