2701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FOOTBALL: UEFA Champions League 2021/22 Season on: May 04, 2022, 08:00:05 PM
RESULT:

Villarreal 2-3 Liverpool

What a game. Villarreal make it 2-0 on the night and 2-2 on aggregate but Liverpool fight back to win 2-3 on the night and 2-5 on aggregate. Liverpool are through to the final of the champions league where they will meet either Manchester City or Real Madrid.

Are you watching the match?  I don't think I've enjoyed a match without making a bet for a looong time.  Lol.  It's just how crucial this match is with just a goal setting City and Real Madrid apart on aggregate.  I want City to win but I wouldn't mind seeing a goal in by Real Madrid and see it go to pens for the lulz.

Anyway if I had a bet it would be BTTS and the over 2.5 combo.  The match is nil - nil right now at HT.  Lol.  It might not make it.  Both squads are kinda tight and prolly a bit nervous out there.

Gerhard Berger spoke yesterday and he said interesting things.

According to him:

Hamilton could retire after this season

Porsche has a deal done with Redbull for joining the F1

Yup exciting times ahead for Red Bull Racing but I think we'll have to wait for another 4 years tho when the engine freeze is lifted.  Porsche bought 50% of RBR but I think Porsche has its hands tied and could do nothing for the team as of yet.  Not sure up to what extent Porsche could help the team at a technical level.

And on the rumor about Hamilton's 'retirement' I think it could depend on Mercedes' car development.  If they improve it as the season goes by, Hamilton might run with his contract til 2023.  He could retire then but I'm hoping to see him back where it started...  At McLaren.

I would also love to see him back at McLaren.Michael Schumacher in the end of his career he joined Mercedes a German team to give his expertise in developing the car and it was mostly because of him that Mercedes in the year 2014 and up had a winning car,Schumi invested a couple of years developing the car together with the technical team. Now with all the experience Hamilton has he could do the same as a bare minimum for McLaren but I would like to see him win another title with McLaren before he quits.

I don't think that's right...  It wasn't really Schumacher's expertise that shot Mercedes up to dominate F1 starting 2014.  It was the engine rule change from the V8 aspirated engines to the V6 turbo that gave Mercedes the edge as the technical team had more advanced R&D with the V6 than the rest of the teams.

And there's a difference between Schumacher's switch to Mercedes and if Hamilton returned to McLaren.  Hamilton was groomed by McLaren since his karting days so it's going to be like a homecoming.  Schumacher went to Merc mostly because of Ross Brawn and had a good working relationship with him when they were at Benneton and Ferrari.  I'm not sure so feel free to correct me but I think he was.

Hey Betcoin, you were the only sports betting site that had lines available for the player transfer market for football across Europe.  Any chance you guys could bring it back again?  I have a thread about football transfers predictions at the gambling discussion section and it has been garnering a lot of interest for years.  Maybe we could take that interest and get some of those people to gamble on the transfer market at the site.  And the transfer market opens in less than a month...  What do you guys think?

Hello, we are going to look into this. Were the listings in the football outrights section?

I don't really remember.  I think it could also be somewhere in the 'specials' section.  And thanks for taking some time for you guys to consider it.  I'm pretty sure there will be some guys who'd like to drop little bets in there for fun.

Here's are some ideas in what kind of markets other books are doing for the transfer market.  It includes next manager markets for some clubs too which would be pretty sweet to put a little action on esp for people who are deep into football news...

I just watched the Countdown show for 274.  Why do I think Trevor Whitman could get Gaethje to win vs Oliveira.  I mean with Oliveira close to being starched by Chandler then Poirier after that, I think Gaethje could get the job done.  That chin has to give in at some point.  And Chute Boxe is known for hard sparring and having their guys conucssed at times.

Anyway get hyped.  Watch Countdown and enjoy.  Wink

Will this promotion be running every week from here on out til the end of the season?  I think I have a pretty good idea which clubs I'll be putting my money on for the next couple of weekends.  Lol.

Anyway, it would be nice to see some UFC promo from the Stake team.  Betting on MMA is the most exciting in my experience.  They're somewhat unpredictable and the matches end in 15 minutes and on you go to the next bet.

Could you share which teams you think that have the most chance to score in the first 15 minutes? I don't really follow Premier League so closely but it can be an interesting promotion. I would also love to have some more good UFC promotions especially double or triple winnings! These are always interesting to place a bet on.

This weekend?  It could def be Manchester City against Newcastle United.  In Newcastle's last 5 matches, they conceded two goals.  One against Leicester and one against Liverpool and both of those goals came in at the 19th minutes.  With Man City it could come earlier and if not there's a huge chance you'll be winning your bet anyway.  So it's a win win.

And yeah, there's nothing like MMA.  Stake should take advantage if this growing sport.  We haven't seen how far it could go yet.

Finally an event where every main card fight is worth watching!

Here's an updated roster from Tapology.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/85253-ufc-274

The UFC found a match up for Andre Fialho as a featured bout in the prelim just after fighting a couple of weeks ago.  I wonder how trying to make the weight again would affect his performance.

Also, this event is going to be good. I've got Gaethje against Oliveira which might be surpriging to some. I just find that while Oliveira is exceptional when it comes to the ground game, he gets clipped way to often in previous fights, something you can't do against Gaethje.

For me Oliveira is like Khabib, but with much worse defensive skills. Olivera over the time has improved his striking and defence, but still not enough. He has learned head moves to avoid jabs, but he is really bad when his opponent attacks on different levels. If his opponent does 3 strikes to the head and swings to make a fourth strike, then Oliveira practically would never defend his body. As a native BJJ fighter, he is very good on striking, but defence is his weak point. His really takes a lot of damage. With Gaethje, and his low kicks, that might not be good. However Poirier is counted to be a good striker, but he had lost to Oliveira.

Not sure if you can call Oliveira is like Khabib, different styles but they both have elite submission skills.  I do agree that Oliveira has somewhat worse defensive skills.  And not only that, he's kinda chinny.  The pick is Oliveira to win but I wouldn't mind gambling a little something something for the Gaethje KO prop.

Edit:  Typos.

Here is the result for my picks on UFC Fight Night: Font VS Vera

Rob Font VS Marlon Vera - Unanimous Decision - WIN

At first, I wasn't so sure who was going to win but Marlon Vera is vicious he just can't wait for the match to start and wants to leap toward Rob Font, that was in round 3 I really think that the 1st and 2nd round Marlon "Chito" Vera is a calculating fighter that rounds were a set up so he can know what he could do, and from that point, he changes his approach he becomes very aggressive bloodied Rob Font and Font was saved by the bell from the ground and pound until Rob Font Bloodied by Chito's Knee, the fight was absurd and it was a total advantage for Marlon Chito Vera!

Andrei Arlovski VS Jake Collier - Split Decision - LOST

The Zebra Pattern Curse continues, and yeah TopTort777 was pretty much right by calling this a curse, Andrei Arlovski still got those lethal punches both men are committed to giving each other punches, knees, and kicks, while in round 3 Collier is pretty much aggressive and desperate after that headbutt Collier scored a takedown aswell but there is no much time to do anything for Arlovski, in  the end, three of the judge scored for Arlovski, it was a sensational win for Andrei Arlovski despite his age he is pretty much tough to take those nasty punches of the younger Jake Collier, well my judgment was really clouded, and despite Arlovski's age he pretty much has that experience in winning the fight, that is what I learn that he can do, but if he would fight a guy on the top 5 of their division, then it is likely he would surely lose,

I was surprised Font lasted for the whole 5 rounds tbh.  It looks like the botched weigh in thing wasn't much of a factor but then again maybe it did since Font's strikes didn't really cause any real damage...  Dunno.  And one thing I didn't like about Vera was he was getting hit a lot.  So if Vera's next match is for three rounds and vs a high volume striker, I am def fading him.

A rematch vs Song Yadong should be in order since their first one was a robbery.  Yadong won that one.
2712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 01, 2022, 04:27:07 PM
According to speculations,Arsenal are on the verge of signing Manchester city forward  Gabriel Jesus. It is believed that Arsenal have met with Jesus' representative and have discussed a deal in principle, with reports suggesting that Jesus have agreed to sign for Arsenal, who are in need of a center forward that will lead their attack next season following the departure of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketia this summer.
If the rumours are true, then Jesus will be a very good addition to the gunners squad.Nevertheless,it is left to be seen whether Arsenal will sign him or not.

I don't know what it is about Arsenal, seriously.

According to rumors they are on every player in Europe and they never buy something.
They are also linked to, Morata, Jesus, Tielemans.

Yeah but that Gabriel Jesus rumor has legs imho.  With Artera, a former Guardiola protege, running things at Arsenal I would expect that any player City puts in the market for sale, Arteta would most likely be interested in.  And there's nothing wrong with showing interest in many players in the transfer market even if they don't have the intention to buy...  Showing interest is free.

And what are the chances Mbappe makes a u turn on Real Madrid and goes to Liverpool?  I mean if money wasn't an issue would Mbappe really consider playing for Liverpool?  Gotta admit, I would looove to see him in the EPL.

2714  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 30, 2022, 03:30:31 PM
mostly the whole 2nd quarter is a none responding month meaning even till June we cannot expect a good movement guys , I have seen this scenario almost yearly and at least every After having year.
so best to check this the occasion after 2nd quarter as mostly ? 3rd to 4th quarter is the benefiting month and the Hyping season .
I may not take this month as profitable ? though in the beginning of April price reached 48,000 again.

With all the crap that's been happening in our world, I expect may to really cause a dump. I could be wrong but there definitely will be a significant move in may. Usually, I dump in may and walk away then wait for better market conditions to buy. Of course except for btc and a few selected altcoins that I really like or the ones that are staked or on yield. But hey, that's your take and I respect that. I just prefer to be more cautious now than in the past. Still awaiting for June though because if market conditions are good by then, I might repurchase some alts that I have let go of or add more to the ones I already have.

Yup I've been seeing some traders at CT starting to say that we should 'sell on May and stay away'.  That's funny and I'll prolly use that as some sort of theme for the May sentiment thread.  And with that thought in my mind, we'll see...  30k is still holding strong.  And who knows, BTC could see a bounce in May and give everybody more hope for another all time high.  Can't wait to hear everybody's thoughts.

PSG is offering Dembele 17 million Euros per season if he decides to join them. A few months ago he was on the fringes of Barcelona's team but after Xavi came, he really revitalized him and Dembele is starting to show again that he's worth the money.

He's still waiting for Barca's offer before deciding on his next move - but Barca probably won't be able to go as high.

________________

In other news - Raiola unfortunately did pass away after all. It was announced by his family (and confirmed by The Athletic) so this time it is true.

RIP...

I wonder what this means for the future of players like Pogba and I think he was also Haaland's agent.  And I also wonder what kind of agreement currently Haaland has with City and if City really does have Haaland's signature and what kind of complications will the death of his agent cause the deal.  I'm pretty sure Raiola has a say in every deal his players have.

I've been seeing some articles saying that Haaland's perfect destination would be at Old Trafford.  Cheesy  Seems like somebody wants to hijack the deal.

^  Before the weigh ins I was leaning more towards Font.  But seeing how drained he was in the scale and he missed weight, it looks like he isn't ready for 5 rounds.  And here's the thing for Vera...  He's a slow starter and increases the pace starting around R3.  Font on the other hand would prolly only have a couple rounds of gas for this match before he fades.

And yup, Collier could win.  Just a hunch.  Lol.  I have no strong opinion.

It's not looking too bad but it's not looking too good either in the monthly.  And it feels like it's just another couple of red monthly candles to confirm a bear market.  I see some mixed forecasts itt.  I guess it'll take a huge sell down under 30k before everybody finally concedes it's a bear market...?

With everything going on around the world, it's hard to be bullish tbh.

^  Really getting curious now...  :/

Watkins
Ronaldo
Salah
Adams
Son
Weghorst
Saka

Leezzz go!
Damn, I have almost the same selection as you, just substitute Watkins with Pukki since I expect heavy rotation in Villa side that have nothing to play for and Son for Kane. Kane has unbelievable stats against Leicester and I just had to take him.

Could use those 10k, keeping my fingers crossed.
good luck man

That makes sense.  I guess I'm still biased against Norwich for how terrible they were and almost not scoring at every match before Dean Smith came in.  They are still bad now and they will surely go down but at least they're getting some goals in.  And yeah you're right.  Lol.  I just looked at Aston Villa's last 5 fixtures.  They had just a couple of goals in their last 5, while Norwich has 5 goals in their last 5.  -_-  Took it for granted again and just clicked away for the picks.  Lol.

^  Mmmmm I don't think it's as simple as Tuchel didn't handle Lukaku well.  Lukaku's playing style is he likes bullying defenders and if he fails to do that, he usually folds.  In the Serie A, he was able to do just that because mostly he was able to bully them.  Not in the EPL tho..  Defenders are quicker, tougher and just all around better.  How many truly successful seasons did Lukaku have under different managers and clubs in the EPL?  I think not many.  He's been at Chelsea, West Brom, Everton, Man United then back to Chelsea.

But yeah, I guess Tuchel might have done something in it.  But blaming him overall would be unfair imho.

Check out some latest Jon Jones pictures

Still does not look a like a heavyweight to me.

He might not look like it, but his reported walking around weight when he was fighting at LHW was around 104kg and reportedly he was walking around at 108kg in 2020. In comparison, Miočić fights at around that weight or 110kg, so it's not that far off TBH. I don't think Jones will ever look like an HW if you compare him to Nganou (although there was that short stint where he did Powerlifting), but he's a lanky dude so he'll just look skinny fat. Nothing wrong with that.

Thinking about it..l  I wonder how Jones will look in the cage after all these years of inactivity.  Well he trains but I'm guessing nothing like preparing for a real match?  I think the bookies could misprice the line and get him to he a huge favorite against Miocic.  But then again we'll be reminded and ask ourselves what did we expect..?  'Of course Jones wins it easy.'.  Lolol.

Anyway, the weigh ins are live.  It started around 20 mins ago.
